Gonna try this. Going from a 2009 computer to like a 2021 computer. Didn't at all care for computers back then but now.

I have had my computer for 3 years now and its getting old and I got a new PC just waiting for it to come in so I can transfer all my files. I do have an external hard drive and will transfer that stuff over to my new PC. The part where you did properties really helped me and I never knew what I would do without your help. Thanks a lot!

I put all of my files in a zipped folder and uploaded it to my google drive. Then created a link for the zipped file and sent it from my email address to another email address that I created. Then I opened my email on my new computer and downloaded the files where I wanted them.
It is very simple and easy to do. Don't get me wrong! Your way works just fine but doing it with google drive is very fast and easy.

Nice video. I'm moving from a Windows XP to a Windows 10 computer. Can I move software (Quickbooks, in this case) in the same way as you move photos & other files? That is to say, is Windows backwards-compatible?
+mortier9 not recommended you should reinstall a new compatible version of those programs you can't really copy them over like others files

+Simon sik no you need to reinstall the printer drivers on your new computer or reinstall the printer CD that came with the printer it's not as easy to copy over programs as it is files

Just came across your video. Three questions....First, how do you get the picture icon folder on your home screen? Second, how did you categorize your pictures within the picture folder? Third, how do you get the categorized list of pics you have within the picture folder?
You have to create like folders or albums I believe

If i have games on steam i just log into my steam account on the new pc and instal the games right. And i need to move folders if i want right beacausr tbh i got noting that i need at file explorer only some mod folders for games. And question for steam my game saves gonna be the same on the new pc yes?

It depends which word do you use the cloud one or did you install it on the computer

Then all you need to do is go into your documents or wherever you’re saving your word files and you can select them all copy and paste them over
Thanks Jamie. Some people don't appropriate anything anyone does to help them. Can you transfer your desktop? If so will the apps work? If not can you transfer downloaded apps another way?

Programs usually always need reinstalled because they also install to the registry. Transferring programs is sometimes more difficult to do unless you have a lot of stuff setup to do it. I usually end up just reinstalling all my programs.

I noticed you just pulled the thumbdrive out of computer 1 without "safely ejecting". Does this matter? Sometimes when I hit eject it gives me a warning saying it may be in use and continuing to eject may damage the files. Please advise
Yes you are correct you should always safely eject it and don't just pull it out like I did because it can corrupt your data
Can you transfer the files onto the new computer, copy them into like a ssd or hardrive, delete the files on the flash drive and repeat? because I have some big files
