I tried it and it worked easily and I got the 4 videos on it just like you showed BUT I got everything else on my computer on it as well. (computers understanding is limited LOL) A box came up about configuring and I thought I needed to do that...guess not. So, I thought I'd just stick in the other flashdrive thing and start again...but it was the same. Do you have a video on how to erase a flashdrive totally??

+The only thing I might add to this and it was very well done by the way, is to check the capacity of the flash drive you want to send information to. and check the size of each folder before you move them to the flash drive. If you have been doing this a while, that might sound like it is unnecessary, but for those who are doing this for the first time, you may want to insure you have enough space on your flash drive so it will hold all your transferred information, And remember to safely remove the drive before actually taking it out. One thing I did was get like a 32 gig flash drive so it held just about all my folders I wanted transferred.

You do not seem to have the same layout of 'photos' with Windows 10. I cannot get ANY of my photos off my computer and save to USB.

Subbed you; Good vid, I have 2 QUESTIONs:#1= I have a PPT presentation I'ld like to save to a flash. It has 20 pages + some of them contain home videos. Do I need to change the format in any way to put it on a flash or just drag it over? QUESTION #2: So after its on my flash will the pc that I would transfer it to need to have to have a PPT program installed on it already for someone to open + view it? It's for a court case. Maybe I should put it on a disk instead! I don't have a website + no time to create on? thks. Oh I have Win 10
+seeamerica1 yes you are correct it should just copy over ok to the other computer. And yes the other computer would need to have a ppt program installed on it for it to open. At least that’s been my experience with it it’s the same as like a Microsoft Word document if you create something in Microsoft Word and you copy the file to a flash drive and then try to open it on another computer that doesn’t have Microsoft word installed usually it doesn’t work so yes the other computer should have the program installed
Jamie I'm truly grateful for your speedy reply. I needed your verification so I was thinking it might be better to upload it to a website since I'm not sure all pc's will have it where I'm going. So I've tried + tried to turn it into a video but I keep getting messages "‘’ PowerPoint could not finish creating video…Do you want to try again?” Maybe it's too big at 339MB? I don't know what the limit is. In any case what format is best to use say to upload it to a website as a video or put it into Movie Maker? Thanks I had to learn PPT on my own the past month, it's more complicated when it's done in a hurry so I really appreciate your help! Thanks again!

You can’t transfer programs usually without issues. Unless your talking about just the file itself

Hi, I did this and transferred 3000 photos and the folders to a 64Gb flash drive to back them up. Initially they were there but after a few checks to see if they had all downloaded I was not able to find any of the files. It said no files in any of the folders. The properties button said there was about 25Gb of the 64Gb memory used up but there were no files there. All of the folders are still intact. The photos were all mine and are still on the hard drive and I can access them all. Anyone have any ideas. My laptop has just had windows 10 re-installed so I don't think there are any windows faults
I had the same thing happen. Thought I had my entire pc on the flash/thumb drive. The drive was almost full, but no files showed up. :-( I wound up formatting the drive, then copying all my files over to the thumb drive again. After that, I noticed that the folders were just shortcuts and when I clicked on the folder on the drive, I was redirected to the pc folder! Ugh! Had to open the folders on the pc and copy the actual photos, music, etc., not just the file, to copy them to the thumb drive.

Jamie, I have 160 pictures to be used in my book and I am trying to send to the Publisher. When I try to send the pics to a thumb drive, it stops at a pix and says: this pix will be sent without its properties. Help?
Copying or moving a file without some of its properties only means that the properties will be lost, whereas the file will remain intact and functional, it's not a big deal. It's background properties like the info of the file like date and time or size and stuff. You can still send it just fine.

Can this method be used to transfer your entire photo collection (or folder) in one move, not photo by photo, or groups of photos, as long as the flash drive has enough storage to handle it? I've never done this before, but I just got a new laptop & need to get my ALL my photos from the old pc onto the new one. For example I'm using Nikon's View NX 2 free app and want everything on it to go to the new laptop. Would that also bring the View NX 2 app onto the new laptop along with the photos, or just the photos? Thanks for any comments or input.

Plugged in my stick, the first time the box popped asking what I wanted to do with the stick. I clicked on the wrong activity. I've rebooted my old computer, put the stick back in, I get the "tone" that it's plugged in but I can't get the "box" to come up again. Where can I find it?

Hey, so not sure if you'll get this today, but I had bought a 128 GB flash Drive and wanted to transfer movies and files. Now i understood what was in your video about dragging but the beginning you don't have. When I put my flash drive in, a folder came up and it had 3 things pop ScanDiscSecureAcess(with a folder next to it), a PDF ScanDiscFlashback, and ScanDiscSecureAcessV3.01_win. So, I'm sure it's obvious that I should click on the which is a folder but since I'm not 100%, if you could please reply I'd really appreciate it. Thanks :)
you don't have to click on any of that stuff, you can just start using your drive right away, just create a new folder on your drive and copy whatever you want to it. they just give you that stuff for use for other things.
