I didn't know whether to laugh or cry watching the video. After hours of viewing other UA-cam videos and doing other google searches on the same issue, you saved me. I already have the passport drive at home, but never thought to use it for "transferring" some of the old programs I have and want to continue to use. Thanks so much John for all the information, it you made my day! 🙂
Thank you so, so, so much! I am beyond frustrated with trying to transfer my programs to my new laptop and you are the only resource I've found that may actually help me get the job done. I've been months searching for help, then having to walk away for my sanity - a week later, I'd try again - over and over. And not only did you give me information, but explained it in a normal, conversational way that I could effortlessly understand. Thank you again for your excellent video and taking the time to help out all of us who rely on a computer but don't work in IT. I can't tell you what a relief it is.
As a retired Sr. Software Engineer who’s designed Microsoft Windows programs since Windows Version 2.0, I can assure everyone watching this video that this technique will only work for programs that install ALL their components in the application subdirectory in the Programs directory, and don’t rely on any Registry Keys, COM DLL’s, or Services that get installed with the software. There are many programs that fall into this category, however, in today’s world of software, most programs are written that use Registered DLL’s that get installed in a Windows System directory. If these aren’t copied or copied and not registered, the program can’t work. It certainly doesn’t hurt to try, but don’t be disappointed if it doesn’t work.
I'm moving win 10 to a new win 10 computer with all new hardware. I'm building it myself. I have a cloned M2 drive of my old system. I wanted to just boot to it but, I'm thinking it won't work due to drivers and the registry file and or other files. Yes/No? New Topic: Everytime I tried to run an old program from say from win 7. I would use the properties / compatibility tab and tell it to run as win 7. It never works. From NT to 7 to 10. Do you know why? Thanks!
@NFAtoys ...you are so right. after listening to this windbag go on, & on...awhile, YOUR comment proved most Truthful. sheeesh...waste a time! John, bless you, 4 years on and I'm watching this, your a joy to listen to, and it worked, Photoshop, moved...... Thank you sir, hope your well, and Merry Christmas.
I think you're lucky that worked..count your blessings. As a rule it is not advisable to only transfer Program Files (x86) program folders to a new location as a software program installation scatters other critical files in other locations such as your appData folder and registry settings.
Loved this video, I watched it until the end for the entertainment value...and laughed through much of it...even though I was pretty sure it would not help me with my computer problems. And I subscribed. Copying files from an old computer to a new computer is no big deal, there are several ways to do it. The issue is getting old legacy programs installed on a new version of Windows. Copying program files doesn't install them. I am still not sure how you were able to get your programs to work on Win10 just by copying them over from your external backup drive. Sounds like a miracle to me. Four years later from when you made this video, I am trying to migrate programs from an old PC running Win10 to a new PC running Win11. I tried cloning my old HDD onto a new SSD to use as a boot drive in the new PC, but this doesn't work. But I do have all my old files in my new PC now from doing this. Microsoft makes it impossible to transfer installed programs from an old PC on an older OS system onto a new PC running a newer OS. This is intentional, it is called forced obsolescence...to force you to buy new subscriptions to all the programs you already paid for once. It is frustrating, to say the least.

You are my hero! Thank you SO much. I had an old Dell and I just wanted to transfer my Office 2010 to my new Lenovo. I don't have high-need office uses any longer but wanted to access my personal Work and Excel documents and use Outlook for my email so I needed Microsoft Office. I did not have a backup drive but I did have a zip drive so I followed your instructions using that. Worked perfectly without having to navigate through the Office 365 mess. Thanks a million!
I literally have that hard drive sitting in a drawer at home, going to need it for work next week for this exact problem. Thank you for figuring this out, hope it works for me.
There’s always a simple way of doing things. Problem is the people who know it won’t tell you. They have junk software and devices to sell you. I’m looking into getting a new computer. My Windows 8 just isn’t cutting it anymore. To run an updated program I need Windows 8.1. Why? So anyway, thanks for the video. I was contemplating going your route, but didn’t know if it would work and you proved it. Bravo! On my old PC I have a program called Easy Transfer. Does it still exist on newer machines? I never used it and I was considering it when I get Windows 10. Right now I’ll use my 4 TB passport to transfer my old programs. Thanks, again.
Got to say that you are you the best old school, you just save me hundreds and hundreds $$$$, got to move my program easy to my new Windows 10. Thank you very much and hope you can still saving program :)
OMG thank so much . I like you have searched for years trying to figure that out I've lost so many wonderful programs like Window xp. I to wanna transfer my MS Ofice 07 to my new computer. Your video really helped. Thank you
Thank you John. It is kind of a toss up. Would I rather move into a new computer or have a root canal! Your video solved a lot of problems. Thanks again Mike
Glad that worked for you, HOWEVER, your method does not take into consideration any modifications to the System Registry that most Windows applications make during the installation process. Simply copying the program folders will, in most cases, not be enough to get your application to work properly. Good luck to all struggling with this issue.
That occurred to me, too, but I'm going to attempt to install whatever programs I can from either a disk or via online, because I'm pretty good at recordkeeping when it comes to license numbers and such and have only installed each program once. As a last resort I'll cross my fingers and use my external HD which happens to already have the 86x folder on it. I agree with John that transfer programs are cr@p. All you need to do is read the customer reviews for any of them and you know there's got to be a better way. I also hate Windows 10 with the fire of a thousand burning suns, but I'm stuck with using a PC because my job software does not run on a Mac and I'm not tech savvy enough to use Linux.
Thanks but a little confusing. I would have liked visuals. I bought PC Mover which didn't work and was considering Zinstall. My issue is that the brilliant people at Dell now make computers with very small SSD C drives and large D hard drives. Problem is, everything on my old computer is on the C drive, so PC Mover can't switch drives and after 8 hours of transfer, tells me the C drive is too small, duh! I have the same portable hard drive ou have, which has worked great for me over the years, so I'll review this again and see if I can follow.
I bought Zinstall...wasted my money - didn't work. That is THE REASON I had to figure out how to do this. So, if it's worth the time, take the time to slowly go through my video and you will get it at some point. John
I have a 1 TB WD Passport that I use for a backup on my Windows 7 pc. Thankfully, I've never had to use it to recover anything, but I'm afraid to delete whatever it has stored in its backup process. With the prices going down over the years, I'm likely to purchase a new external hard drive (WD PAssport) for the xfer/setup. Today (Black Friday) the price for a WD 1TB My Passport Ultra Silver Portable External Hard Drive, USB-C - WDBC3C0010BSL-WESN is $59.99.
I feel your pain...Great Job....So glad I found this video...Once you got me on the right path I was ready to go and setup my new computer with all of the programs I had to pay for in the past. Thank you,
That's great. Thanks for taking the time to explain how to transfer software. All I see elsewhere is that you must spend money and buy stuff like Zinstall or PC mover and that there is no other way of moving software, which is clearly BS.
i just want to copy my old computer onto an external hard drive before i throw it away,.. horder tendencies... by the way nice video thanks for sharing!
Awesome! I still have Win 7 and MS Office 2003 and I'm holding my breath on my 12+ year old eMachines desktop! I dread having to start over on a new computer. Thanks for this video!
@@JanoyCresva -my programs all transferred...so, as far as I know, if keys or passwords were required...it didn't ask for them...the programs just transferred from Win7 on my old computer to Win 10 on the new computer. JT
Thanks John, although I am versed somewhat on computers I really enjoyed your vid and your genuine and funny narration. I have two external drives like you mentioned, a second one in case the first one screws up. Well the one drive did malfunction and so still had my backup. Yes, they want to sell you crap files so they make money when you are not sure what to do. I take one of my external drives with me when travel.
Thanks for your informative video. I tried the method yesterday from my 10+ yr old Dell Dimension and also from a 5 yr old Lenovo laptop to a new Dell desktop, using a new sea gate usb drive. I was trying to move Microsoft office 16, but it did not work on the new Dell. Files transferred fine but I can’t start the software on my new computer. 😢 I am left to continue searching for my actual purchased discs; I have them somewhere and hopefully they’ll still work.
Loraine: I have found that MS Office seems to have hidden the KEY to unlock it. You may have to call Microsoft and tell them that you need the key...if you purchased MS Office...especially MS Office 365. JT
I have a new computer coming today so I will be having the same issues as you. I loved your video. You are the Archie Bunker (said in all loveingness) of "How To's" Very entertaining. Thank you for sharing your journey and information! Wish me luck
You can also pay $14 a month for google terabyte in drive...transfer files to your google drive, open new computer, transfer out...same as the device you are plugging in. You can then cancel the $14. Even $3 will get you 200 GB
Hi👋 How do you transfer sky plus programmes stored on my old sky plus box to my new sky plus box??? It's driving me nuts😖😣😤 Please please please can you help me🙏
very informative , think I followed it BUT got a message about missing dll file . I am hoping to move portion of Microsoft office , excel and word . any suggestions .
Do you make a video strictly on this process? If not can you make one so we can all understand step by step instructions so we cannot make mistakes thank you
I'm new to your site. Thanks for the video. I have a question. Does this copy over registry files an license keys. I have very important program that I use to make id cards for our club. I can't afford to mess this up!🤣 Thank you and I look forward to seeing your past and present videos
Great video but when I try to do the same,(when i hit "Send to") my external hard drive isn't in the list of choices to send to. Can you help me with this? I can copy and paste but when i do that , the program do not work for me in my other computer. Thanks
I don't kow if you are also using Passport, and I have no way to know the capacity of your external hard drive, but I do know that when you pulg it into your old computer (Windows7) it should show up. Your computer should give you an audio signal that the device is logged in. Then, to verify, you should go to "My Computer" and it will show you all of the devices, including your hard drive C. If you don't see your external device there...then for some reason, it's not available or compatible. JT
@@jtylermusic I just got it to show up, here is what i did, maybe will help someone else. On my old computer, i started by opening the Documents And Settings folder, Double-click the "SendTo" folder to open it. (If you don’t see the SendTo folder, you’ll need to choose to display hidden files and folders. Click View | Folder Options |View tab. Under Advanced Settings, select Show Hidden Files And Folders. Click OK. ) Then I right-clicked somewhere in the empty space of the SendTo folder. Choose New | Shortcut. Complete the Create Shortcut wizard to point to a new location, (which was my external hard drive) and when i was done, it will appear as a destination in my Send To menu.
I just had to wipe my Windows 10 due to a malware scam on June 12, 2022...! So, I did. I then loaded a new Windows 10 and copied all of my old Windows 10 Programs onto my Passport before wiping the slate clean. I reloaded all of my old programs and they all work fine, so this system still works well. John Tyler
I'm finally moving from win 7 PC to a HP i5 17.3 laptop with Win 11 installed. Like you, I loved win 7 but I'm slowly coming to terms with the new Win 11 layout. Anyway, a few years ago I moved from Photoshop CC to Elements 10 because I started to use Capture One pro for most of my processing and only needed the Photoshop aspect to run my Google free version of Nik software, plus I like the dodge and burn tool in Photoshop anyway. I don't want to pay a fortune for the latest NIK software, but will upgrade to PS Elements 22. So I was wondering if I could save the NIK Plugin folder (currently in its old place "program Data folder) to my own external drive, and save it again to the new plugin folder in Elements 22, (as Adobe now requests)? I will certainly give it a try. I have also saved the original exe. file, so if first I don't succeed I will try to do a fresh install with that. Fingers crossed.

Can’t believe I listened to that as long as I did, I’m suprized by how many positive comments you have. This is a rage inducing video, no matter how correct what you are saying may be.
Hi John, I tried this and it worked for my BibleWorks program. However on my Libronix program I copied the x86 program on to my WD Ultra Passport but when I tried to open it on my new Windows 10 I got errors saying I am missing 4 different dll files. However when I look at the external drive and on my new Win 10 laptop the files are there...any suggestions. Francisco
Thank you, I have one of those passport things and plan to try this out soon, Windows 10 didn't do me any favors either, nothing is as easy as it had been, what sense does that make!?!
Thanks John @jtylermusic. So what if your video is a bit longer than needed... You saved many people days of falling around the internet trying to get the right solution. I just bought a new Laptop and am about to transfer my programs (thanks you you I can do it with ease)
This guy has mastered the art of talking for ~30 minutes what could be said easily in 5. On top of that he is full of it - never in 20+ years has "INSTALL in xxx" showed up when moving files like he describes. It doesnt re-install the program - its just a straight copy of the folder and Adobe, like most programs need files that are not in the program file to run.
Jim H..has mastered the art of having no life...and no subscribers on his UA-cam channel. His art form is finding people here on UA-cam to heckle and try to dismiss as not helpful to the well over 150,000 people that this video has helped by their own testimony. So, I will leave his reply to demonstrate how pathetic some people's lives are. JT
Right now I'm trying to figure out how to get Overdrive media console transferred from one Windows 10 to another. Thinking I might be able to do it via bluetooth or e-mail
another option is put the old hard drive in the new PC on a diff drive name like F or something. Then u can transfer files from 1 drive to the other using SATA cables. Handy to keep the old hard drive in the PC to use to make backups and system images on but it would need to be win 10 as well. I havnt worked out how to transfer from 1 drive to the other yet as im still working on it. but it can be done that way according to tech guys ive spoken too. In my case old hard drive that used to be win 7 in an acer x3400 but it updated to win 10. But rebuilt my PC and only have the old hard drive and DVD rom left from it everything else has been replaced including a new case. New hard drive with a clean install of windows 10. So now im trying to workout how to get my games and files from 1 hard drive to the other. Copy and paste doesnt seem to work like others have suggested doing.
You are my new hero. I'm trying to transfer information from my Windows 7 to my new Windows 10 (which I also hate). I love your exasperation and frustration. I feel the same thing.
Thank you, I considered having two operating systems in separate partitions and that was daunting. Do you have to do each program individually because I backed up my entire computer to an external drive and wonder if I can send as a unit? If doing one by one, does each program go into x86? Like you, I love Win 7 and have all the same issues you so eloquently stated.. My new computer arrives in a few days and I was dreading learning so much new stuff or spending more to replace programs
THIS WORKS PERFECTLY! THANK YOU SIR! OMG I had passed on this guy. Then I was like hhhmm 🤔?? I went back and you made me lol. Great job sir and thank you for help on this matter. I thought I was going to take me forever getting new drivers "dll's". And there u were saving my day and time. Thank you very much for the help and LOL.
Just a thought Tyler The program files folder X86 is a place where the (older) Windows 32bit programs are stored. They go there instead of getting mixed up with the 64 bit stuff in windows 10, 64 bit versions. 32bit should run in a 64 bit operating system. I'm just trying your method by transferring a 32 bit program from windows XP into a blank reformatted external drive. Then I will transfer it to the X86 program file in a new windows 10 laptop. I hope it works
Well, I could open the program in the external drive no problems. But, unfortunately, even after transferring it to the new laptop X86 (32 bit) folder, it wouldnt open. Showing files missing. So I found the original installation disc and stuck it in the disk drive. Guess what? It opened in a 64bit version grrrr. Then I read some paperwork that stated the program could only be used from the pc hard drive or a flash drive in usb port. I think the original program could have been upset during transfer to the new computer. It was extremely slow. The old pc was ancient so was the external drive. The program I transferred is an industrial strength vehicle diagnostic with very complex infrastructure. I can only assume some dll files fell over due to the age of the kit, and trying to transfer from windows XP to the latest windows 10. In conclusion all I can say is JT's method is a great idea but might not always work depending on the age of the kit and the operating systems.
I was just trying to see if Zinstall actually works. I have used it before, years ago. It seems that you have confirmed (?) that it does work. JTyler. You're a good person but don't give up your day job to become a tech person.
Allow one more comment from me. You did a great job here for many. Ignore the trolls if possible. I know you, like me, think you can shut them up but they only get more fired up because someone finally noticed them. Sitting in mom's basement all day gets lonely for them. I too have found most of them haven't even made a bad quality video. I too always jump to the channel of a insulting troll to see who or what they are and most of the time they don't actually exist as a UA-camr creator or they may have a Play LIst of other peoples heavy metal songs or video game screen captures. You rule, they drool.
When I upgraded from Win7 Pro to Win10 Pro, all the X86 program folders from Win7 Pro were also transferred. Should I delete the existing program folders first then transfer the old program folders?
Well, not sure. All I did was transfer one program at a time from my old desktop and Windows 7 to my new Desktop and Windows 10, and that's how I did it. Not sure why you would try to transfer X86 from one computer to another. not sure it would even work! JT
I loved your video and I learned something to boot!!!! What a great sense of humor and I loved that you didn't use all the 'computerese' terms instead of nice normal everyday words.
This could be very handy! A quick question. Are you still able to access the programs on your old beast? I will be trying this in the next little while.
That is correct. You are basically going into the X86 files in your old computer (Windows 7...or XP...doesn't matter) and copying the file to the (in my case) 1 Terabyte Passport)....then loading the Passport via USB cable into the new computer (in my case Windows 10)....so that I have the exact same files, keys...whatever is in the original program or file in both computers. You should be able to go into each computer and do what you always did. In my case, I ended up selling the older Dell Dimension Inspiron on Facebook Marketplace for a handsome sum, so I wiped all but the Windows 7 and Google Chrome for the guy who bought it. - JT
Wipe it out and try it again. Office 13 likely has large files. Just do the one transfer of Office 13...no other programs and see if that corrects the missing .dll. Been there...did that. Frustrating. JT

I to wanna transfer my
MS Ofice 07 to my new computer. Your video really helped. Thank you
Thank YOU....for your nice comments. John
"And this is what I came across: Back to the basic Windows, factory reset of Windows...misspelled of course, I was drunk at the time" LMAO😂
Your delivery was very friendly, so even though this turned out to be off my topic I still listened.
Thank you for your kind words. They help others to tune in.
Thank you, I have a Passport in my drawer, now I can get my old programme into my new Digest Storm deck top.
Terrific....Are you British? Noticed the word Programme. John
Thank you John. It is kind of a toss up. Would I rather move into a new computer or have a root canal!
Your video solved a lot of problems. Thanks again
Mike
The root canal bit cracked me up.
Had me in stitches ; this guys a legend and defo old school. Old school all the way - legacy systems!
Yah, I was the suxker who bought Zinstall. Wasted that $$$$. :)
Thank you so much… Do you actually have this written down anywhere as far as how to or steps?
I in
I Once did but after I did the video, I tossed it.
i just want to copy my old computer onto an external hard drive before i throw it away,.. horder tendencies... by the way nice video thanks for sharing!
Awesome! I still have Win 7 and MS Office 2003 and I'm holding my breath on my 12+ year old eMachines desktop! I dread having to start over on a new computer. Thanks for this video!
Great job....Glad you could use the info. John
Did it work? Do passwords and licenses move to the new drive just by moving the X86 folder?
@@JanoyCresva -my programs all transferred...so, as far as I know, if keys or passwords were required...it didn't ask for them...the programs just transferred from Win7 on my old computer to Win 10 on the new computer. JT
@@jtylermusic Now you have me anxious to purchase a new desktop (Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals) and make this effort.
This is an outstanding video. Very easy to watch and understand.
John thank you! You are funny, and saved me a lot of leg work. Peace!
Love your delivery! It made watching really enjoyable. Thanks for the help.
Excellent news - I hope everyone takes advantage of your information. JT
Good luck, Barb.....and I get the archie Bunker nod! :) JT
You can also pay $14 a month for google terabyte in drive...transfer files to your google drive, open new computer, transfer out...same as the device you are plugging in. You can then cancel the $14. Even $3 will get you 200 GB
Hi👋
How do you transfer sky plus programmes stored on my old sky plus box to my new sky plus box???
It's driving me nuts😖😣😤
Please please please can you help me🙏
very informative , think I followed it BUT got a message about missing dll file .
I am hoping to move portion of Microsoft office , excel and word . any suggestions .
You are a great guy and very easy to understand… You made me laugh And I actually learned some thing. Thank you keep going, John
Thank you very much for your comment. you made me chuckle, too! :)
Do you make a video strictly on this process? If not can you make one so we can all understand step by step instructions so we cannot make mistakes thank you
And I thought it was just me that does this sought of thing . Loved every minute.
Excellent most wise one,..Just would have love to have seen the actual transfer from one comp to another with your passport,..Thanx !!!
Don't know what to say.....thousands of others got how to do it.....:)
What a hoot! GREAT story telling ability. saw the comment to skip to 16:00 but the story was so good I watched the whole thing!
On my old computer, i started by opening the Documents And Settings folder,
Double-click the "SendTo" folder to open it.
(If you don’t see the SendTo folder, you’ll need to choose to display hidden files and folders.
Click View | Folder Options |View tab.
Under Advanced Settings, select Show Hidden Files And Folders.
Click OK.
)
Then I right-clicked somewhere in the empty space of the SendTo folder.
Im trying the send to part instead of just copying maybe thats the issue followed everything else to the t so maybe this step will do it
I’m so desperate that I want to jump to the solution. Just go to 15:59
Thanks to @jtylermusic
Thanks for doing that...makes sense. JT
jtylermusic very informative and touched my basic skills in technology
Thanks for that post.....Glad that people can go right to the fix. John Tyler

Can’t believe I listened to that as long as I did, I’m suprized by how many positive comments you have. This is a rage inducing video, no matter how correct what you are saying may be.
From a guy with zero subscribers and no content on his UA-cam channel - so, guess my subscribers can figure this comment out! :)
All this time, I thought Microsoft Bob was a myth. And then here you are.
Hey JOHN - Just what I needed to transfer from my old pc to my new pc! - you remind me of a mild Winnebago guy! Good work! Thanks!

I'm with you brother. I hate windows 10 and love windows 7.
Thanks for taking one for the team. This is going to help me greatly!
Thank you, I have one of those passport things and plan to try this out soon, Windows 10 didn't do me any favors either, nothing is as easy as it had been, what sense does that make!?!
I hate Windows 10, but MS has basically abandoned all other formats so that we are stuck with the one! :)
Thanks John @jtylermusic. So what if your video is a bit longer than needed... You saved many people days of falling around the internet trying to get the right solution. I just bought a new Laptop and am about to transfer my programs (thanks you you I can do it with ease)
I agree. At first, I was one of those who floundered around the Internet trying to find ways to do what I did! :)
Many thanks John.I will be trying out your advice soon. Thanks again.

Thank you so much! This worked like a damn! So easy to follow your instructions. Keep up the good work!
JT
Loved this guy in that one Scorsese movie.
Oh boy, I feel just as described at various points.
Thanks John, I can easily follow your instructions which actually work! I'll be back.
So happy that you said those words, Ron. It will give hope and encouragemtn to other viewers that they, too, can accomplish their goals.
Hello. LoL sir thank I like my old stuff to I was stuck when you USB to USB I want to do things off line.. without losing my old programs
Right now I'm trying to figure out how to get Overdrive media console transferred from one Windows 10 to another. Thinking I might be able to do it via bluetooth or e-mail
Great info John. I appreciate it BUT....I bet if someone asks you what time it is, you tell them how to build a clock.
No. but if someone wanted to know how to build a clock...I'd do it! :)
another option is put the old hard drive in the new PC on a diff drive name like F or something.
What if I already have a windows 10 account? And I move to new windows 10 pc. Doesn’t everything just save when I move my account to my new pc?
You are my new hero. I'm trying to transfer information from my Windows 7 to my new Windows 10 (which I also hate). I love your exasperation and frustration. I feel the same thing.
Well, you are my hero for trying to fix a problem of converting programs from one computer to another. Thankyou! JT
Thank you. This was the best and simple method to transfer programs.
Great...Thank you for the comment. john
How do you add subtitle to movie
THIS WORKS PERFECTLY! THANK YOU SIR!
OMG I had passed on this guy. Then I was like hhhmm 🤔?? I went back and you made me lol. Great job sir and thank you for help on this matter. I thought I was going to take me forever getting new drivers "dll's". And there u were saving my day and time. Thank you very much for the help and LOL.
You are Amazing! Thank you sooo much. I had the same passport nervier worked well for me for backups but did for this. Lifesaver !
I wish I had found this sooner for my mother. I will have her subscribe.
Great - The more the merrier, Stephanie! :)
Just a thought Tyler
The program files folder X86 is a place where the (older) Windows 32bit programs are stored.
Great video by the way
Thank you for the input. I'll leave it up for others. JT
CAN YOU DO MORE THAN ONE PROGRAM AT A TIME?
I was just trying to see if Zinstall actually works. I have used it before, years ago. It seems that you have confirmed (?) that it does work. JTyler. You're a good person but don't give up your day job to become a tech person.
i was drunk at the time 😂👏🏽👏🏽
9:17 You're welcome
16:25 "I don't know, I was drunk at the time." bwaha
Wha-La... Wanted to thank you, it worked like a charm. I didn't loose any of my plug-ins or older programs. :)
I like your style John.
Thank you for all your information, I just purchased a new PC and needed this info, so thank you ,thank you, thank you!
JT
Going to try this, thanks for the information.
I loved your video and I learned something to boot!!!! What a great sense of humor and I loved that you didn't use all the 'computerese' terms instead of nice normal everyday words.
Thankyou. I don't use "computerese" because I don't know any of it! :) John
- JT
@@jtylermusic Rats! The program was on the laptop I donated, but I will definitely keep this tip in mind. Have a good one. Cheers!

I tried this with Office 2013. Did not work. The error missing .DLL popped up. Any one else had this problem? Advice appreciated. Great Video JT.
Wipe it out and try it again. Office 13 likely has large files. Just do the one transfer of Office 13...no other programs and see if that corrects the missing .dll. Been there...did that. Frustrating. JT
