Okay, a lot of people are talking about how to leave creature eggs alone and not to pick them up. And I agree, with one exception: if the creature egg has a visible face, pick it up, take it home, and safely store it until you can use the eggs. Telling why is a spoiler, but you’ll thank me later.
I want him to pick up all the eggs he wants, people find out later what they can do with things anyway, and it's not a super harmful thing to do so I don't get the back seat gamers who have to try and direct gameplay to that extent anyway.
I always collect at least one egg and one seed of each kind, right from my first time until now. My first play through I just stored them until I found out what to do with them
A 0-G gym is actually very useful, much more useful that a usual gym. Sure, you can't lift weights, but springs still provide tensile force and you can, like, ride an exercise bike. Real-life astronauts in space actually need to do exercise to keep their muscles from atrophying since they obviously don't walk
Just posting to encourage you to keep playing, this game is AWESOME and has a very passionate fanbase. Subnautica is the king of this game genre. If you ever find yourself stuck for things to do just remember the golden rule: go further and/or deeper and you will find no shortage of new stuff which will absolutely blow your mind!

You read, you plan, you scan, you think and put one and one together, you are curious and appreciative... instant favourite. Keep it up, it's wonderful to see :))
My timing on looking for new Subnautica playthroughs sure paid off today! Always fun watching someone play this for the first time, glad you're enjoying it. Regarding PDA Pause, absolutely use it if you want to since it's not really making the game any easier except reading PDA entries while not consuming food/water. I would recommend turning it off before you start the game's ending (you'll know when you get there). There's still a bug that hasn't been fixed that can prevent the sound from playing properly during the ending if it's turned on. Regarding reading in general, personally I like watching people read & react to everything in the PDA but if you don't want to read it all then it's up to you. A lot of the articles are just worldbuilding/background that might not mean anything to your gameplay (the level of detail is extremely extensive but also very good). I would recommend at least skimming the entries to make sure you see if they have any use or if there's important information like you were doing near the end.
You've probably heard this a bunch of times already, but as for the lack of "weapons" in the game, this game was under development during one of the school shootings, and the developers decided to make a game without guns in it as a kind of tribute to the victims. Probably the best decision they made during this game's development. As it really made the game much more of a horror game since you have minimal defense against some of the bigger enemies in the game. This is one of my favorite games of all time, really looking forward to the sequel.
Its been said, but best advice is to scan literally EVERYTHING it lets you scan and read at least the assessment part at the end in the data bank for all the entries. And yes, the stalkers love to play with the metal salvage. Stalkers are one of my favorite creatures in the game because they're so playful.
I love that you read the databank and scan more things it really shows how much you appreciete the effort the developers put in. Most players dgaf about it.
falling on my knees with tears of joy streaming down my face YESS HE'S READING THE PDA "START HERE" . TRULY A RARE FIND nice to see you diving (hah) right into the mechanics and understanding the mechanics yiippeee. this is gonna be a good playthrough
Great game, fun to see it through new eyes. This game definitely requires controlling your inner loot goblin. Too many things to pick up. FYI you can interact with the rabbit rays though they aren't really functional, just decorative. Could hurt them as well, if you're a monster.
There was a point years ago when my interest in games was waning. I had been jumping through old games that I was getting bored of, new games weren't very good and I was going through a bit of a depressing time in my life... and then came Subnautica which re-ignited my fun in games. I played the frick out of it because it's so unique and does so many things right.
Hey, I'm really enjoying how you are taking the time to read everything and discover the environment 😁 it's nice to see you appreciate the world of Subnautica
Turning on the pause while in PDA option was a good shout for recording, for when you need to talk and stuff. It's easy to feel overwhelmed with the amount of info that's thrown at you. The PDA databank has everything written down in long form, but any important or useful info will also be given to you in other locations. For plot, the most important thing are the logs you pick up, which basically all can be played as voice messages. Don't worry about reading every little thing, but if you ever feel there’s something you don't understand the answer is probably in your PDA somewhere. And if it is not, we'll be here with the tips 😊 Also watching you explore and work things out is literally what we're here for so you don't need to apologise for taking your time with it. There's a progression to everything, and we enjoy watching the journey that new players take.
Few tips: 1. Scan and read EVERYTHING, that scanner and your databank will be your best friend. If you get stuck, take a look through your PDA and see what you can find. 2. Always carry around at least 1 beacon. It will save you so many headaches if you find something cool and need to come back later. 3. Keep exploring and pushing forward through new areas. This might seem obvious but it's easy to be blind sighted by creatures like the stalker and want to avoid an area because of deterrents in it. Wish I could play Subnautica for the first time again, I envy you. You've got this!
Sir, this is my first time watching you, but you’ve gotten a sub from me! Also, this is like my second favorite game of all time so I love seeing new people play it.
I will say that Subnautica does have some features that you'll basically never guess that are extremely convenient. One advice I'll give that isn't a spoiler, knife everything! There are so many things that seem worthless that you could have gotten something from; even objects that look to just be scenery.
You really should scan all the fish. You especially need to scan the bladder fish because it can be used for other things than you were using it for. Also that wreck you found... There is an entrance to it you just did not look hard enough. And there is an important scan right beside the box that you scanned earlier.
Since you brought up desalination, I always understood it as the fabricator does desalinate the water, but it can't do anything about the bacterial content of the water without resources. So when you use bleach to make water, it uses bleach to kill the bacteria, and if you use the bladderfish, it acts as a filter and purifies the water that way!
I can tell that this is going to be one of my favorite Lets Play channels. I really love how analytical and strategic you are in your gameplay. I'm excited to see more from you!
A Subnautica player who is sensible enough to read everything and curious enough to fabricate an Air Bladder in the first 30 min is definitely worth watching.
As many others already have said: everyone is looking to relive their first experience when they were still oblivious to where the game would take them. Watching a new player is the closest thing to that experience; and even though I’m just 25 minutes in, I already can see you approach this game a lot smarter and a lot more systematically than my first efforts… I feel this one is gonna be good 😁👌🏾
A zero G gym in space is an essential item. The idea is that when you are in a spacecraft travelling in zero-g your body starts to loose calcium in your bones due to lack of exercise - hence you need a gym when in space (to prevent bone and muscle loss) - IE the gym is a requirement for zero g travel. I have never played this, but would suggest you adopt your own compass search - nominate the main ship as North of your vessel and perform a search pattern starting North, then North East etc.Locations could even be mapped this way - e.g. Cave is NNE with distances measured as percentages of the distance to the large ship.
I'm so glad there's someone posting a blind playthrough of this in 2024! Subnautica is easily my favorite game of all time (there are many perks to being a marine biologist), and the designs of (pretty much) every creature are SO good!! Tbh I'm super happy that you read the databanks, there's so much amazing info in there that a lot of people never experience! Really looking forward to watching the rest :D
I was never able to finish this game because it’s too scary for me, but I’m thoroughly enjoying this playthrough so much that I might have to give it another shot
Really happy to see someone else discover this game, I'll definitely be watching along. (Personally, I'd say take as much time reading as you need, the details and lore really help understand the world) Don't stress about radio calls... If you have to rush, you'll be in absolutely no doubt. And remember that swimming is good for your glutes and endorphin levels...
I've never repeatedly said to my screen quite so much the following imperative: "TURN ON YOUR FLASHLIGHT!!!" LOL Watching him struggle to find things in the dark when possessing a flashlight is almost painful! But he's doing very well, actually. :)
Loving the playthrough so far. When it comes to some of the more far-fetched seeming evolutionary adaptations, if we weren't accustomed to the creatures we have on our planet, some of what they've done to survive would seem like a near impossibility as well. And yes, I'm aware I'm just making excuses for a favorite game. 😁
I love watching blind playthroughs of subnautica!!!!! This is my first time watching you but I will for sure be watching this whole playthrough! I am so excited!
_love_ teh way you play. And I am glad you are reading the PDA entries, since they do actually explain most of the mechanics, but the game does not hold your hand
I wish I hadn't let this sit in my watch later queue for a couple of weeks. Time to play catchup, it looks like this might turn into one of my favorite playthroughs. Reads the data, scans things, uses the air bladder, thinks about things logically. Looking forward to spending some hours watching this one. Too bad you mentioned how it reminded you of Prey but Prey isn't in your playlists so you must have played that before the channel. That's my second favorite game to watch playthroughs of after Subnautica.
Awesome seeing a new blind play-through, some tips from a man who has played far to much Subnauseous: Creature eggs: only useful if you want to make an aquarium later on, I never did anything with them, there are only 3 of the same type I even cared about, if you find one with a cute name take it and hatch it :D Large wrecks: I saw you found one, I think you can go inside 95% of them, either by finding a door you pull open, swimming though an exploded wall, swimming though a vent, or..... finding a tool to help open more.... reluctant doors. just swim around all exposed walls and you should find one or two of those options. ohh and there is usually goodies inside so I check all of them. Floaters: I hate them, They once attached my submarine and made it float to the surface, permanently.... but that was before I knew you could pick them up and before they fixed a bug that made them continue to float whatever they were attached to even after leaving the water. also: hmmmm...... when I can, I leave my habitat with just tools, food, and water. floaty lockers are good early game, and with out spoiling things when you get the build tool, I just made a.... Hallway? I don't remember the name, anyway I made one of those and filled it to the brim with wall lockers before I did any thing, else. ok enough tips. go struggle in the dark, cold, lonely, and possibly radioactive water. Continue scanning all the things! I was Impressed you scanned as much as you did! Awesome video!! Keeping going!!!
I just started watching and I want to say, I hope that you never let internet-bafoons make you feel you game wrong. If you enjoy the way you play then it is not wrong.
Yes! I'm always on the lookout for a new blind Subnautica playthrough. Love that you're reading the PDA entries - they help explain so much. Scan everything is the best tip for this game, for sure. Also, picking up way too many acid mushrooms right off the bat is such a classic first time Subnautica player experience.
Ooo, also so stoked to see the biology degree coming into play! The game devs did a great job making the ecosystem in this game, and it's full of cool speculative biology.
If you look around a little bit you can find time capsules left by previous players❤❤kinda cool feature they contain helpful stuff like charging fins that charge the device in your hand
For the floaters: normally they attach to creatues not rocks and then pull the creatue up to the surface through thier helium layer (created by thier microrganisms) and suffocate it there so they can feed on it's body
The coral provides the silicone for the microchip. Great watching so far. It is cool his shirt has a drooping stinger on it. I was like Wow coordinated apparel to the game.
Nice start to your playthrough. Paying close attention to the database entries will ensure that you will get the most out of the amazing world the developers created, so reading all you can is fine by me. The one difficulty I have is your erratic "camera movement". The janky, high-speed changes in POV gave me nausea, which came as quite a surprise. 😵💫
zero G gym is on ISS. its mostly just things like cycles and jogging on a treadmill while wearing bungies to anchor you to the exercise device. its a need to slow muscle loss and help maintain bone density, by being under some minor strain.
I am terrible at finding those sorts of options so by the time I discovered I could have PDA pause I was used to not having it and I chose to keep as was with needing to go back to the lifepod to read databank info as a fun little bit of immersion Either way though I don't think PDA pause really adds an unfair advantage it's just a qol thing and let's players choose how they want to play - I'm pretty certain I'm not the norm! Maybe if you're playing on hardcore it would feel more cheaty but it's really fine I'm loving this play through. You are far far more competent than I first was (although I have now fully played through hardcore so im gonna brag)
i played this since it was in early beta, i never had a playthrough after it was 100% done because i already had done everything before. I missed out on the new stuff im glad others can enjoy it without pre-knowledge!

Very good first episode. Only one hint (below), eveything else was great and glad you're liking it :) Hint: Don't forget to cut the Creepvine like it prompted you to but you had a full inventory.
Hey, here are three small tips that might help you avoid a bad experience. :) 1 - Floaters - Don't play with them, don't touch them, don't collect them. They can be fun, but they also carry a small chance to instakill your char, throw you through they sky, or simply corrupt/softlock your save. This is not a joke. 2 - You might find Timecapsules - You have a choice here. Those are sent by other players in their endgame. They might contain spoilers or high tech things. If you open them, you might get a cheap joke or a massive boost. 3 - Dropping objects might corrupt your save. It is sometimes unavoidable, but every dropped iten slightly increases you risk of the game bugging out.
Haha just finished recording the second episode, then read this comment. Dropped a floater and it instantly punched me in the face! Will make sure to avoid them from now on!
@@DorukPlaysGames I have had them disapear out of my hand, aka attach themselves to my body, and then deal fatal ammounts of damage. They don't mess around. :P

My first play through I just stored them until I found out what to do with them
@@AriannaBrooks my advicce is to stop picking up creature eggs and anny other item without imediate use until you have more storage and seperate base.
Yeah, but the Aurora clearly had artificial gravity, so its gym was just a gym, not a medical necessity. ;-)
6:46 HALLELUJAH!! Finally a video where the player actually reads the checklist! Thank you! I’mma watch this, for sure!
1 hour and 20 minutes in...and the hoarder in me was finally at ease when you cleared your inventory for the first time before leaving the pod to explore...what a relief...lol.
Tip:
Fragments are biome specific, and some can only be found in specific wreckages. So if you get stuck trying to get something it doesn't slow your roll.
🎃👍
TRULY A RARE FIND
nice to see you diving (hah) right into the mechanics and understanding the mechanics yiippeee. this is gonna be a good playthrough
And if it is not, we'll be here with the tips 😊
Also watching you explore and work things out is literally what we're here for so you don't need to apologise for taking your time with it. There's a progression to everything, and we enjoy watching the journey that new players take.
Few tips:
I would add: after you've scanned it, hack it with your knife once. You'd be surprised what's edible in an emergency.
Sir, this is my first time watching you, but you’ve gotten a sub from me! Also, this is like my second favorite game of all time so I love seeing new people play it.
@@Hedron1027
Same, it's hard to find blind playthroughs of this game at this point
And even if you found a blind playthrough they're more busy with the live chat than the actual game😢 or they shout like crazy😅@@AceFaz
I will say that Subnautica does have some features that you'll basically never guess that are extremely convenient. One advice I'll give that isn't a spoiler, knife everything! There are so many things that seem worthless that you could have gotten something from; even objects that look to just be scenery.
I love new play through of games like this. Less editing is better usually. More immersive.
someone playing subnautica for the first time, just what I needed to complete my night
Living for this play through!! Your reactions are so good and you are doing great with reading the pda and figuring things out!
I can tell that this is going to be one of my favorite Lets Play channels. I really love how analytical and strategic you are in your gameplay. I'm excited to see more from you!
A Subnautica player who is sensible enough to read everything and curious enough to fabricate an Air Bladder in the first 30 min is definitely worth watching.
you can enter that wreck, there's a hole on the side where the drooping stingers are.
I love how much wonder you seem to be experiencing, it reminds me of my first experiences
"But with Michael Bay directing evolution here."
Cracked me up...too funny.
Love this game! I never finished it but logged almost 50 hours. Can't wait for your next village upload. you deserve way more subs!
The seaglide repair guess was actually insane!!!
Hes reading and scanning ! What a find, hell be all rite I think :)
"I don't know what to do." Welcome to Subnautica! It is a fantastic game, but a hard start for sure.
Tipp: You can enter. every. Wreck. Every. So whenever you think there is no entrance, you are always not looking hard enough.
Yes, this! Every wreck is enterable.
Also there's no alive survivors in these radio signals, don't rush to save them 👍👍
@@Swipey900maybe dont say that
My favourite game! I cant wait to watch all your episodes..weee thank you! :D Its such a beautiful game. Well made too.
(Personally, I'd say take as much time reading as you need, the details and lore really help understand the world)
Don't stress about radio calls... If you have to rush, you'll be in absolutely no doubt.
And remember that swimming is good for your glutes and endorphin levels...
25:24 I had a similar reaction when I first saw that too. Welcome to the community. Hang onto that sense of awe.
I've never repeatedly said to my screen quite so much the following imperative: "TURN ON YOUR FLASHLIGHT!!!" LOL Watching him struggle to find things in the dark when possessing a flashlight is almost painful! But he's doing very well, actually. :)
Just found you, subscribing for your tone of voice, articulation, and just because you are playing this amazing game. Let's gooooo
Great job on the video game play through!
Just general encouragement to welcome a new survivor, hope you have as much fun as I did.
Best and quickest sulfur fish interaction of any playthrough.
Make sure always have batter on hand
Only 1 vote for Subnautica is a travesty, even if you have a small pool. I shall add myself to the list. Subscribed.
That's my second favorite game to watch playthroughs of after Subnautica.
this is great, I played through it a while ago, but my son just started his play through, and it's been fun! Can't wait to see more
Awesome seeing a new blind play-through, some tips from a man who has played far to much Subnauseous:
Creature eggs: only useful if you want to make an aquarium later on, I never did anything with them, there are only 3 of the same type I even cared about, if you find one with a cute name take it and hatch it :D
Large wrecks: I saw you found one, I think you can go inside 95% of them, either by finding a door you pull open, swimming though an exploded wall, swimming though a vent, or..... finding a tool to help open more.... reluctant doors. just swim around all exposed walls and you should find one or two of those options. ohh and there is usually goodies inside so I check all of them.
Hey man, thanks for playing the game. It's a real beautiful one.
I just started watching and I want to say, I hope that you never let internet-bafoons make you feel you game wrong. If you enjoy the way you play then it is not wrong.
Eyyy, been a while since I saw someone do a full play through of this game. I've subbed and I'll be looking forward to more of your progress bruv
1:15:41 *passes beacon blueprint* then 15 seconds later "I wish I had a marker or something" 😂😭
You have some serious magpie brain. Night comes: "uuuh, shiny, let me grab that, uuh shiny, uuu shiny" lul
Love finding people doing there first play through of Subnautica. I'm here for itttt lol
Honestly, PDA Pause is a must if you want to take in any of the background knowledge
I see episode 1 subnautica I subscribe. I don’t know you, but I will now follow you till death. Thanks for the video I love you.
"Sorry I read a lot". No, don't apologize, it's wonderful to see you interested in the story ! Have fun !
zero G gym is on ISS. its mostly just things like cycles and jogging on a treadmill while wearing bungies to anchor you to the exercise device. its a need to slow muscle loss and help maintain bone density, by being under some minor strain.
Im really glad you are starting a blind subnautica in 2024!
Lets goo mate!!!
You will loooove it!
Best game ever!
I am terrible at finding those sorts of options so by the time I discovered I could have PDA pause I was used to not having it and I chose to keep as was with needing to go back to the lifepod to read databank info as a fun little bit of immersion
Either way though I don't think PDA pause really adds an unfair advantage it's just a qol thing and let's players choose how they want to play - I'm pretty certain I'm not the norm!
Maybe if you're playing on hardcore it would feel more cheaty but it's really fine
I'm loving this play through. You are far far more competent than I first was (although I have now fully played through hardcore so im gonna brag)
My favorite game of all time. I am so happy to follow you in this journey!
@1:23:15 You can go over by the food amount a fish gives when at 99 food. So basically a Peeper giving 32 max would be 131.
I did a 12 hour stream of this game last week and i didnt do as good as you did! Man what an amazing experience though!!
i played this since it was in early beta, i never had a playthrough after it was 100% done because i already had done everything before. I missed out on the new stuff im glad others can enjoy it without pre-knowledge!
I find your videos very relaxing. I especially love lengthy forms of content! ❤
Theres a marine biologists that also played and streamed it, you should check them out AFTER you beat the game, this game is so good to watch others play lol
Very good first episode. Only one hint (below), eveything else was great and glad you're liking it :)
Hint: Don't forget to cut the Creepvine like it prompted you to but you had a full inventory.
Omg im halfway through and want to scream you dont need to keep the floaters
Hey, here are three small tips that might help you avoid a bad experience. :)
1 - Floaters - Don't play with them, don't touch them, don't collect them.
@@CiszHelion floaters and the sea moth. One will slow you down two will keep you near the surface and three won't allow you to move at all. Avoid hitting those buoyant rocks.
underrated channel fr, love your play style keep it up dude
PDA pause is nice because, like you said, it stops time when you read stuff. But it is annoying, because stuff that you drop from your inventory doesn't fall down, because time is stopped. You have to figure out for yourself what works better for you.
