It’s crazy running back into your channel years later looking for an explanation of this model after I stumbled across your concise communication course in 2019. That communication course has affected me in known and unknown ways and I’m really grateful for you. Back then I had just got a new job and a senior of mine always complained about people not being concise. I went to UA-cam to learn how to be more concise and your playlist was the most helpful thing. Thank you!
Thank you for sharing this information, Alex! I believe we can use the Johari window to collect feedback from others (the open area and the blind spot) and from ourselves (hidden facade) in order to define and to determine both our weaknesses as well as our strengths. Then, from the feedback we receive we get to reinforce our strong/positive personal traits and work on overcoming our shortcomings. it also encourages self-discovery through engaging in more new experiences and stepping out of our comfort zone. By doing so we strive for improving our relationship with ourselves and with others. (btw, though Johari was and Indian name lol). Thank you once again and stay safe!
Tomorrow is my organization behaviour exam and I think that johari model is important but I don't get any idea from notes .. thanks to your video sir .. I got it very well now I can do it easily ...
I use this approach with actors to establish deeper parts of their characters. This texhnique can have sp many different uses! Thank you so much for this insightful video - great explanation with examples and opportunities to journal for each 'window'.
Wow the model is so simple & makes it easier to breakdown facts about yourself whether they're known or not & it really get's you thinking about the potential within oneself.
Wonderful explanation!! I've loved the Johari model for years, since learning about it in a counseling class. Your explanation is the best I've seen on a video! Great job!
@@alexanderlyon thanks for your help! I understand better than others videos I learned from you! My assignment is due today so I'm sure it will be fine 😊
I have my exam tomorrow & the way you have explained, I think if there would be an exam after 5-10 years, my concept will be clear for this topic. Amazing video, thumbs up (Y)
Thanks for the video. I was recommended to try the Johari exercise but wasn't sure on what types of things to put in each box. I found your step by step explanations and examples valuable, thank you!
Hello Alexander! Your video has been so helpful for me, I would like to congratulate you for a job well done on this content. I was looking for a video about the Johari window since one of my mentors mentioned it earlier today. Thanks a million!
Much appreciated. Tried understanding it from the text book and just wasn’t clicking. Watched your video and my PowerPoint is done and ready to present. Thank you
❤Love this video I’m studying for an exam and you made this so clear❤️🙏🏾 thank you 🙏🏾 for using yourself that made it so much easier to understand I will be using this in some work training now that I completely understand it ❤️❤️
Sir, it was really helpful i have test tomorrow on Organizational Behavior. (What i noticed that if one can explain a theory with there own real life incidents it engage viewers as well as gain confidence on presenter)
Hi Alex, Thanks for the video. I just learnt something new today. Actually this topic is in our OB subject, i used this video as a crash course for the exam and guess what, i learnt about Johari window model in 8 and half minute video, which i couldn't understood in 90 minute lecture :D
Thank you so much for this video. Please continue doing your videos. I’m praying that God uses you greatly to encourage men and Christians in the way of leadership. So grateful for this video for myself and all those you help.
Whether it will be thought of as a weakness and exploit you when you open up the hidden aspects , is a real challenge to be thought to know where to open urself completely!
Sir this video is very helpful .Actually I comes to know to prepare this after watching youre video I understood very well. Thanks for sharing sir. Its really inspiring .❤️❤️❤️.....
Thank you. The unknown really helps me to shift my thinking. So many things i think i want or don't want in my life but until i experience them, i really don't know if i would want them. Kinda sobering.
It's an interesting question. I don't think the model is particularly connected with communication styles, however. You could say that when you communicate or disclose information that you're being more open but I don't know that beyond that there's a way to clearly associate the various communication styles with the boxes.
What does Johari's window indicate in relation to emotional intelligence? A. I can learn more about myself through listening to feedback from others and through reflection B. I know myself best C. Empathy isn't something everyone has. If you don't have it it's not in your genes. D. I know all there is to know about myself, there's no more to learn. What will be answer of this sir please tell me
I ask for feedback in a lot of ways. We can learn about ourselves by asking other people. Probably the best source of helpful feedback for me is my wife. I'm always asking for her opinion and point of view. I like learning about myself. As far as what I might do about them? Well, once I realize something about myself, I might get to work on it if it needs to be addressed. If it's not something "wrong," then I'd just have to look at what it was and go from there.
Amazing brother, as usual. I'm so proud of you! This, (and you other videos), are so helpful and I try to apply them to my everyday life. Love you- Joshua
Greetings and thank you so very much for this presentation. It is extremely well-done. Would you mind sharing which software you used to record this presentation? I really like your effects and transitions from you to the visuals and your use of the superimposed video of you speaking. It was very clever. Thank you.

With all the quadrants of this model how can I determine which communication style to use?
It's an interesting question. I don't think the model is particularly connected with communication styles, however. You could say that when you communicate or disclose information that you're being more open but I don't know that beyond that there's a way to clearly associate the various communication styles with the boxes.
