You explain these concepts so well. I appreciate the facts that you also highlight limitations and stance of featured models. I'm busy with my dessertation and I must admit that I'm getting more from your videos in 15 minutes than reading books. Thank you.
Interesting question. I see no obstacle to using the model that way - but I think it is difficult. Here you can also use Fairclough Critical Discourse Analysis - on our channel. It tells something about the hidden meaning of different words.
Please explain the last statement "you must be aware of where you are placed". Placed where? Are you referring to some sort of "placement in a tribal hierarchy"? And how would I now where I was placed?
I think this models interpersonal interaction in a very naive light, people are lying to each other most of the time not sharing objectively viewable truths. We actually need to be able to lie to one another - so this can become even more detrimental in some contexts.
You are right - people are lying especially in short term relationsships. But this model is more about long term relationship, then lying gets difficult.
@Howard Cooper. Nice to hear from you. Thanks for your kind feedback and your recommendation to your speech class. There are several video our channel, maybe you can use some of these too. Hope you have a good semester.
Thank you for your interest. It's great when users come with feedback. Is it the arrow from blind to unknown you are referring to? The correlation from open to unknown can be seen 08:38. Hope you got something out of watching the movie.
@@flixabout This theory does not address or take care of that issue; it just looks like it's a proponent of giving away information, since it doesn't show a "trust square".
The developers named the model Johari. It's a combination of their names. There are many examples where direct translations giving a different meaning. Thank you for your interest in our channel.

This is not about your "placement in the tribal hierarchy". It's more about your openness versus the openness of others.

I was bullied into doing this crap at work in front of dozens of people.
In the model, we warn that not everyone has the same boundaries when it comes to openness about their person. We hope people respect this.
Jason, they were just trying to help you remember who you are.
Clear cut

Sorry - I don't understand the meaning of this comment.
Its all hunky-dory to talk about revealing the self to everyone, and how 'healthy' that is, until they betray you.
Thank you for your thoughts. You're right, you have to be careful who you share your secrets with. We also say that in the video.
@@flixabout This theory does not address or take care of that issue; it just looks like it's a proponent of giving away information, since it doesn't show a "trust square".
@Orange Ziggy. You're right. The model does not have that parameter. That's why we say it in the section - criticism of the model.
the sound is not good I am quite disappointed
