thanks bro,i have always wondered whether it was possible to make those spring handlers without buying. maybe help me with this..can i make zigzag spring by hand made tool without using machines becouse in my country they dont sell zigzag springs,thanks
If the springs are broken, take them off and you should be able to weld the springs back together. I found an abandoned couch on the roadside. I salvaged the zigzag springs to use them either on this chair or a different one. I cant recall. If he spring clips are broken, use whatever you got. Improvise, like weld a metal washer allowing you to put a screw to secure it down. Or did what I have done. Even if they sell here, they want to much money for them. This is a quick fix.
Not all of them are like this. Some of them springs under are hooked on extremely tight and are impossible to put on without a special tool. This guy got lucky because his coils are lengthy
Drilling into a small, thin piece of sheetmetal where you are holding the piece in your hands instead of clamped in a vise is very dangerous. I've seen many injuries in a shop when someone does this. When the bit locks up against the metal, the piece will spin and cut or injure. And it WILL happen. Even wearing gloves, it's bad practice. You are very lucky if you have done this before without problem. You may think you can stop the drill in time - likely it will already be too late. Even more dangerous using a drill press.
Maybe tie a rope to the spring and have someone pull it to stretch it out, then screw it down. Don't tie the rope at the end of the spring. Close to the end

Where do you get good quality springs from ?
These springs have almost no tension and will sit about as firm as no springs
Yup. Clamping it down with spring clamp will create tension but with this set up.
@@tonedubb4325 there is no pressure on these springs. May as well be elastic webbing cross lapped. At least the springs won't lose elasticity though
They make repair clips for exactly this.
