In this video we talk about foreigners who invest their money into renovating homes that they can’t own in Thailand. We also show you the before and after of our old cottage that has been recently renovated by our friend Phil. Phil does not own this cottage but he decided to invest his money to make it as if it were his own. Would you do the same thing to live a more comfortable lifestyle, while living in a foreign country such as Thailand? Many people rent houses in Thailand. The landlord benefits from any and all improvements. Personally, I'd buy [invest in] a condo. You own it and can sell it anytime in the future.
Thanks for sharing, plus a lot of work went into the garden area, mine was a lot of work and plants also and always getting updates from my wife. Just glad she didn’t see this video.. take care..
Nice to meet you today at robinsons mall phuket we live at yamu hills you can ask security were we live if you have time tomorrow you can come by and see 8 island views??

Great video Joe and Gift. Unfortunately, farang can’t own the land because it is not Thai citizen. My fiancé and I are saving up the own house in Nan province and put her name. Cottage looks nice. Rental house can’t be remodel such as upgrade the room, kitchen and back terrace. In WA state it get crazy expensive because building more housing and less trees.
just to say Hi, we are from Wa also, and my wife is from Chiang Klang Nan.... going back to Thailand in Nov and then hopefully moving after the first of the year... wish you guys luck!! chok dee mak! Gary and DK
Thank you 🙏 is notwithstanding, there are alternatives available to foreigners for successful land acquisition. The most common option is to set up your own Thai Limited Company to own the land on your behalf. Another option is to enter into a long term leasehold with the Landowner. It is a commonly unknown fact that although a foreigner cannot own land in Thailand, he can own the house or structure built thereon. One only has to apply for a construction permit to build the house in his own name. Thanks Gift and Joe, everyone has their own reasons, if you’ve worked your life you can enjoy your retirement how you choose, either renting or owning a property👍🏿🥰
That’s true. Especially, if they never owned a piece of property themselves. It’s a goal for everyone and if you can’t achieve that goal in the states you can definitely do so in Thailand.
The cottage I liked when you first video and when you showed up in Prachuap Khiri Khan where you wanted to move to and Cookie was around. I knew it was the place to live in Thailand. Phil did a great job.
Hi Joe. Eddie here from Pakistan. How much was spent in doing up the cottage? I couldn't find the video which you mentioned regarding the USD 19 hotel in Surathani. Perhaps you could give me the name if you did not make a video on it. Thanks a lot. Never get tired of seeing Gifts bye dance:)

I would not buy a house in Thailand , even if I could buy in my own name. Way to risky.
Joe and Gift, nice video, love the before/after if LT stay is planned. Amazing garden landscaping, wow! Stay Happy, Healthy and Safe.
Thank you 🙏
Great idea as far as making your rental how you like it.
I definitely would invest into a long term rental to make it my own.
Great video. I rent too.
Thank you 🙏

Nice remodel. If your going to stay there for another 10 years why not.
Find yourself someone like Gift and invest in that… much better returns than curtains and other “stuff”.
😊
We are passing each other in opposite direction LOL. We are in Nakhon Si Thammarat and will be in Surat Thani on Thursday. Safe travels down South!
Thank you 🙏. Safe travels to you guys as well.
What is in the new building that now sits next to the cottage?
Laundry, work shop and bike storage.
Can you remind me what town in Thailand these cottages are located?
❤

I don’t know how much it cost to renovate the cottage. As far as the $19 dollar hotel, honestly I can’t remember. Sorry I can’t be of more help.
