Building Strength with Dumbbells for Seniors & Beginners // 30 min all Standing Workout

  • Let's strength train together and build muscle mass with this 30 minute workout!
    All exercises are in a standing position and are set to a timer so you can go at your own pace. We will perform exercises for 60 seconds, then rest for 20 seconds. I'm using a set of two 8lb weights for this full body workout. Please start with lighter weights if it is your first time doing this workout or if you are new to strength training.

    Hi, Lauren, I turned 84 last week and I feel fabulous. I’ve been working out with you for a year now and I’ve lost weight, my belly fat is disappearing and I just enjoy the challenge of trying to complete a workout with you. The stability ball has been the toughest one but I’m getting better. Thank you.

    This was so good! 42 yrs old and feel great after this workout🎉 I’m trying to tone and lean out a bit and your channel is perfect. I don’t want an aggressive workout but something that pushes me and still be able to do it again the next day. These slower, more concentrated workouts are perfect. Thanks 💕

    I have only just "met" you, and I thought this workout was fabulous! I love that you don't spend too long giving instructions. You give just enough. I really enjoyed my first workout with you! I had both hips replaced a couple of years ago, but take care. Thank you! I'm 75...🌻

    I have been working out on and off since my early 20’s. I have learned more about how to exercise correctly from you in the past year or so, than all the previous years combined. The big difference between you and every other trainer I’ve ever utilized, is that you are focused on helping others, while so many are focused on showing how fit they are and what they can do. Some trainers don’t even speak during their videos, you are just expected to do the best you can. You are a blessing Lauren. Thanks so much for what you do! 🥰

    I love your workouts! I've been doing them for 2 months consistently. I am not a senior, but I found your channel in search of strength workouts. I started with 5 & 8 lb weights. I am now able to do 15 lb weights with this workout. You're very good at explaining what to do and have proper form. Your workouts are very challenging! Thank you!

I’m a 50 year old cancer survivor (now cancer free) and your channel was my go-to during recovery from surgery.     This was a really good workout and I got sweaty…😅. I love full body workouts that incorporate everything! My heart rate hit all the zones too…lol. I used 8 and 10 lb weights…great job with this one!!!

    Looking forward to this workout. I have been following you since heart surgery just over a year ago and have built up enough strength to challenge myself with these! BTW, I have an Apple Watch and often don't know what workout to choose when monitoring my activity with you. Any suggestions? (or maybe you could put in the notes for each workout in future)

      Great to hear! I have an apple watch too. Just go by the workout title. So for this workout, you would set it to "traditional strength training". Hope that helps!

    Whoa. I am humbled. I really had to "do me" and drop to 5 pounds for most of it. I had my quarterly phone check-in with my Accordant Care nurse yesterday who says "Well I know you're so good about exercising, but I always ask, how has your exercise been?" And I'm "uh ... yeah ... what exercise." I've just let things go recently and decided to get back to it yesterday with Pilates and a walk. Today I dialed in for weights and this looked perfect. It is a perfect workout but I'm so deconditioned! A big wakeup call for me. Thank you Lauren. 💙

    Hi Lauren, Noela from Australia here - fabulous workout! ...and it was challenging! I went heavier with my weights as it was at a slower pace and at the end felt strengthened, stretched and energised. The start of this working week for me will be my Senior Shape Workout Week - I'll do a programme of your workouts alternating between strength, cardio and "be kind to myself" workouts :). Great working out with you.

    Thanks for getting back to me! I feel like you are a celebrity. As far as an emphysema work out it really just involves strength training to help with oxygen to the muscles and breath exercises.     Hi Lauren, I turned 79 on Sunday, and I just started working out with you. This is my third workout, and it was the hardest so far. I started with 1 pound weights on the recommendation of my doctor, which seems very wimpy, but by the end of the workout, I’m glad they’re only 1 pound. I’m looking forward to eventually working my way up to heavier weights and really enjoying working out with you. Thank you.
