I just wanted to thank you. 5 years ago, I was dealing with a lot of struggles in my life. Through all of it, I decided I wanted one thing that was just my own. I decided I wanted to learn how to crochet. You were the first person who taught me. Fast forward 5 years later, I love the skill so much. And I'm good at it! It really helped me with my struggles and brought a lot of stress relief for me. I just thought you should know how much you helped me. Thank you for this video. 😘
I'm so glad to read of your success. I have recently learned to knit...a long term goal. I have always loved to sew and many other handcrafts involving needlework and/or small tools. It's amazing how soothing and rewarding it is. Good for you for finding a positive outlet for your stressors.
I have read how to books, taken craft store classes & tried endlessly to get past my mental block. Your instructions are clearly detailed & slow enough to visualize exactly what we are to do with our yarn, our hook & our fingers (lots of elements involved in these skills). In addition, this instructional video was short enough to easily process. Thank you so much for your clear patient instructions & please, for those of us that learn visually - please continue to add more videos! THANK YOU!
I am soooooooooo delighted that you posted this video!! My mother crocheted and could even make outfits without patterns. I wanted to learn, but she did not have the patience to teach me. It has been decades and I still haven't learned how. Now that I'm a Grandma, I would like to crochet some scarfs for my granddaughters and little matching ones for their dolls. Thank you so much for making the steps so easy to understand. Your video is like a Christmas gift to me and from learning how...I can now gift my sweet grand girls.
You are a wonderful teacher! All the women in my family crochet except me. I want to but I've always found it hard. In 7 min you've managed to teach me how to begin, chain, single crochet, and turn over to continue. I've also finally understood some terms I've never understood when reading. Even the simplest things like, "why not the first chain?"going into the 2nd chain is clear to me now. Thank you for making this video. You have taught me something that will stay with me the rest of my life. I can now join the crocheting women in my family. I wish I could repay you for this new found knowledge.
Of all the crochet tutorials on youtube, yours -- by far -- is the easiest to understand. I was struggling to the point of giving up until I came across this video. You explain things and show things in a way that I can understand, where the other tutorials seem like the narrators were performing slight-of-hand by comparison. You are a natural born teacher and I thank you!
Ive never crocheted before, this video makes it look easy, I really like that she used a yarn that was easy to see and a nice white background, nothing distracting
You're such a great teacher! Thanks for being patient with the tutoring. I'm a beginner; I tried to learn this several times but my teachers weren't so patient. Thanks again!
Just started my own crochet tutorials on my channel and am super excited! Crochet is a hobby that has picked up in popularity in the past three years and I only hope it keeps increasing because its just such a fun hobby/skill.
I'm an avid knitter but recently came across a few gorgeous crochet ponchos, so I'm on a quest to learn how to crochet. This video got me started on the right foot.
I use to crochet when I was a little girl but then I lost it. It was my favorite to do. So now as an adult I finally opened my eyes to get back into it. I love handmade crochet and embroidery. Love this video!!
😀 A big thank you to all the people that make these videos and tutorials they are wonderful. This time last year I didn't know how to do anything now I am helping to raise money for our Church.
could you please make it clearer how do I do each end which should be square mine are oval-i need help/ I love your video-all else I can do-thanks-many blessings to you-
I love these video teachings,I've learned how to knit with the help of my Mother-in-law and crochet again by using these videos. These videos have helped me do stitches I didn't know how to do. Thank You all so much.
My husband bought me some yarn and crochet needles last night and I just tried a few chain stitches along with this video. This is easier than I thought :) Thanks so much.
Thank you! I'm a much better knitter than crocheter at this point, but I'm just glad you finally managed to teach me how to make a single crochet. All I managed before your video was a very pretty knot....
You are awesome, I have books and magazines and couldn't get my head around it, then I found you and was crocheting in a matter of minutes thank you so much
Everyone is right. I watched many videos on how to learn crochet, and your's was the only one that told me how to place my hands, and the yarn, and was done at a very slow and understandable pace. Thank you so much for this video! I'm actually making a rag rug, and after watching this a couple times and practicing quite a bit, I think I'm ready to begin! Thanks again.
I appreciate you! I've watched four other videos without any crotchet success and THIS video is the best explanation I've come across. You're an angel!!
This tutorial was the easiest to understand out of all that I've watched. You really bridge the gap by explaining the terminology whereas other tutorials assume you have any background with yarn and knitting work at all.
I think You would make a wonderful teacher. I have been searching all night for someone to teach the basics on YouTUBE and you gave me the rundown with no problems I GOT IT////Thank You!
I have watched at least 10 videos and read instruction books and also watched a beginner's crochet DVD and was still lost until I found this video! Thank you so much!!!
Agree. Thought I was hopeless but I finally got 21 stitches completed. That were fairly neat and consistent. Thank you so much. Now I will keep practicing.
OMG. First I have to say thank you for not being annoying. Your voice is pleasant. Secondly, you are a really great teacher. (although with the slip knot, i can remember it easier with "criss cross applesauce"! if anyone else maybe wants to try that...LOL) but your the first one that i can actually get it from, so great job and thanks!!!!!
I've been contemplating taking up crocheting but as a full time carer for my Mum, it would have been difficult to get the time to do lessons. Your video has inspired me to try for myself as your explanation was very clear and so easy to understand....thank you so much
Thank you. I’m just starting to try to learn how to crochet. Been knitting forever but crocheting is so much quicker & neat, I’m anxious to get started.
Thank you for this video. I had learned to crochet about 40 years ago, but I needed a refresher and this was perfect. The pacing was perfect. Your instructions were easy to understand. And you have lovely hands!
I was told this would help my hands since I have fibromyalgia, that and the brain fog since I have to think and remember these steps. It looks easy enough and I will be watching this one several times over as I learn to crochet. Thank you so much!!
Thank you so much for the easy easy instructions. My wife has fibromyalgia so her brain can't understand instructions so well. She was having trouble but with your video she finally got it! Yours was the fourth video she tried.
I used to crochet but I completely forgot how to start a new price, thank you SO much, your video was more than helpful &you definitely did it very detailed. Thank you!
you are my godmother !!! thank you so so much ... i was like clueless about crochet and was struggling hard from months to learn but videos confused me and then this saved me ...
This is a wonderful tutorial. You explain it well and we can see exactly what you're doing. Thank you so much. I also watched the 2nd and 3rd videos for beginners. Now I know how to slipknot, chain stitch, single, double and triple as well as the half double. Awesome! Good job!
Thank you so much for your easy instructions. I used to crochet years ago and I mean years ago and forgot how to start the piece, I keep coming back to your video when I forgot how to start. I am really excited to crochet again. I am going to make some 9 inch squares to donate to a website called Project Chemo Crochet. They need 9 inch squares to make blankets for people taking Chemo. I need something in my life so this will be something easy. I think I can do a 9 inch square. Thank you for making it easy.
You are the first person to explain the 2nd 2-step process; is actually 2 steps (not one giant one). I always got so confused on making the 2 row and beyond. Thank you for clearing this up for me!
Thank you for your wonderful video! My fiancé has been trying to learn to crochet all day long, and thanks to your video, he finally saw where he was going wrong! Now he can crochet! :D
This is a very instructional video for someone who has never crocheted. I've tried to learn from 3 different people and they haven't explained it as clear as you. Thank you!!!
Great beginners video. I'm slow at getting the hang of it. I find just watching with no hook and yarn close is good- even several times. Then I'm eager to try myself. It takes repetitive practice for me and my stitches look a bit weird, but it gets better using the videos with or without yarn and hook. I'm sloooowly getting the hang of it. Thanks so much for the tutorials!
Thank you! I've watched so many tutorials for beginners (I began today) and just couldn't get it. Watched yours and I'm flying along here and enjoying it. Very appreciative of you taking the time to upload this clip. 😊
Thank you so much!! I have watched many videos and read many books on how to crochet, and did not understand one bit I'd totally given up on crocheting. But you make complete sense! thanks! :)
Finally! A video that makes sense! I've been knitting for a few years now, and am trying to start crochet... but nothing was making ANY sense until I found this video. Great job!
This is the best video I have found, thank you so much! I just began crocheting mid year, and set it down for a while. And I came back to touch up and specifically looked for this video! Great pace, great instructions! Love it!
Thanks so much!!! I am just learning to crotchet and your video was the only one I could understand and follow. I am left handed but your instructions made it easier for me.
Thanks so much lol I started crocheting yesterday and I bought a book but ur videos better. I'm gonna make a teal blanket for my newborn cousin! Wish me luck cuz it gonna take a while but it'll be worth it! :D
this is really helping me. for the life i could not even begin and i was getting upset but now that i found your videos I know at least how to get this far so thanks!
I just discovered your channel and boy, what an eye opener! I could never figure out the beginning "pretzel" knot. I have crocheted in the past, but my beginning knot was a bit iffy and I had to make sure I tied it to keep from unraveling the project. LOL I am a visual learner and your videos are geared to people like me. I am so looking forward to crocheting again. Thanks for the patience you show in your tutorials.
i am so glad i found this video. i have books on crochet and could not figure out how to start the chain. you made it so simple for me. thanks a lot :)

Thank you! It is really hard for me to learn this stuff from a book and also some videos still go too fast, but yours gave me the reminder I needed on how to get started again! (haven't crocheted in a year or two now and just needed to remember how to start!) thank you for your slow, careful and precise directions and for the "pretzel". :)
You are welcome! I also have a completely new series of beginning crochet videos. The first one is at: ua-cam.com/video/LwKQbaQdwRc/v-deo.html They would all begin with "Lisa crochet, beginning crochet" in the search bar :)
Thanks for this video! :) I was having trouble building on my foundation chain...turns out I was trying to go through both loops like building on a crochet. Thanks for helping it make more sense, and for the nice explanation of a "full" chain stitch -- that helped a lot!
Thank you so much for this video! I learnt how to crochet when I was younger but i couldn't ever figure out what was wrong and why my stitches was so tight. I've been doing it wrong this whole time!! Thank you so much for this video because I finally figured out what was wrong and finally doing it right!!
Loved this video..I watched lot of crochet tutorial..but I didn't get any idea what it is..but explained it perfect..and I'm doing my first blanket work.. thank you
:D wiii this is my very first time with crochet (just this evening I bought the yarn and the needle) and after a while watching this video over and over and now I got it, Thanks a lot!!! i'll keep practicing.
I am so glad I found your videos....your instruction are great.....I see flowers blooming for my Granddaughters.......and headbands tooo.....I Love the way you made them so you could button different flowers on......
Thank you very much. I just learnt how to crochet. The tip about the chain loop on the end of a row was helpful. At first I didn't listen properly and made a triangle. The tension is difficult but like knitting I guess that comes with practice.
I'm starting out teaching myself to crochet. Thanks to you I've done my first set of chain stitches! They're not perfect, but practice makes perfect, right? I'm going to continue to refer to this video. Please NEVER EVER delete it! And thank you so much!
This is really great. My mother got me a loom from a fabric store and its quick and easy but I still wanted to learn to crochet. This is a great start :)
Fantastic tutorial, thank you so much. Many do not show how to keep the tension on the yarn. you have done a superb job of this and showing the other techniques. Great use of the technical terms too.
I really like how you have explained things here. It's made it easy for me to begin. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for the lesson. 😃😁
THIS IS BY FAR THE ONLY TUTORIAL ON UA-cam THAT IS UNDERSTANDABLE. THANK YOU SO MUCH. :)

This video was much more helpful than any other I've seen. I'm so thankful for your time and work. Thank you so much.
I am Jason's niece, Emma. I am 11. I've knitted for a year now, but never understood crochet. Now I do! Thank you so much!!

By far the easiest video I've seen. I have absolutely no hand-eye coordination but I can actually follow your directions.
Thank you your simple, easy to follow tutorials. I'm finally able to crochet. Thank goodness for the pretzel!
Wow
Thank you. Had completely forgotten how to do chain stitch and only needed to do a short length to use as a loop for a button. Yippee all done!
Thank you! I've watched so many tutorials for beginners (I began today) and just couldn't get it. Watched yours and I'm flying along here and enjoying it. Very appreciative of you taking the time to upload this clip. 😊

This is the best video I have found, thank you so much! I just began crocheting mid year, and set it down for a while. And I came back to touch up and specifically looked for this video! Great pace, great instructions! Love it!

Practice make perfect!!!! Beginner for me! Thank Debbie😊
i am so glad i found this video. i have books on crochet and could not figure out how to start the chain. you made it so simple for me. thanks a lot :)
I tried other videos and couldn't figure out it. I figured it out with this one, at least the initial stitch! Yay!
This is so simple to follow!! Thank you! I just adore your tender voice in teaching it as well.
Thank you so much! I've tried to knit for years because I was told it was easier than crochet but I had no problem following your tutorial and I'm so happy!!!! Thank you so much!
Oh, thank you. You are very kind. I have some newer crochet videos called "Lisa Crochet, Beginner Crochet". There is even more detail in those.
The first one is at:
ua-cam.com/video/LwKQbaQdwRc/v-deo.html
They would all begin with "Lisa crochet, beginning crochet" in the search bar :)
This is the simplest, best instructional video for learning to crochet I have ever seen! Thank you for making this! :-)
yay i have never done crocheting in my life and watching your video made it so easy to do =] thanks
This makes it much simpler, I have been looking at a how to book and not having much luck, Thank you, I plan to try again shortly.
Thanks for breaking down the process! I'm just beginning to learn, so it helps seeing it in action
Thank you so much! You really helped get me and my daughter started! Your a natural teacher!
Thank you! This is the 5th tutorial I've tried, and the first one that "clicked" with me.
Thanks for this video! :) I was having trouble building on my foundation chain...turns out I was trying to go through both loops like building on a crochet. Thanks for helping it make more sense, and for the nice explanation of a "full" chain stitch -- that helped a lot!
argh ive done it :D tried loads of videos but was successful with yours, still slow but......I CAN DO IT yyyyyyyyyyyyaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy
Thank you so much for this video! I learnt how to crochet when I was younger but i couldn't ever figure out what was wrong and why my stitches was so tight. I've been doing it wrong this whole time!! Thank you so much for this video because I finally figured out what was wrong and finally doing it right!!
Loved this video..I watched lot of crochet tutorial..but I didn't get any idea what it is..but explained it perfect..and I'm doing my first blanket work.. thank you

Finally a good teacher
This is really great. My mother got me a loom from a fabric store and its quick and easy but I still wanted to learn to crochet. This is a great start :)
Can you do a video on the looming how to do it?
Fantastic tutorial, thank you so much. Many do not show how to keep the tension on the yarn. you have done a superb job of this and showing the other techniques. Great use of the technical terms too.
