I've been using a wireless charger for almost a year because I thought my charging port was toast. Ordered a new phone and realized I need to backup the 200+ GB of photos etc from my "broken" phone. I somehow stumbled upon your video and my broken phone is now fixed. All my photos are being backed up as we speak. Cant thank you enough, so simple, but worked perfectly.

Just cancelled my $600+ order on a new phone because I thought mine was at the end of its life... Thank you so much! I started picking at the port with toothpicks before watching this video as a last ditch effort to see if it world work but felt like I was just grasping at straws. But then I watched this and it gave me the motivation to keep at it for a few more minutes and after a while it worked! The port even makes the nice little *click* noise when plugged in which I haven't heard in months. Again thank you sooo much!

Thanks a ton for this dude. I've been sitting with this problem for years and it never occurred to me, that it could have been a bit of dirt that needed to be simply cleaned out. I honestly thought they were designed to intentionally break or become faulty after a set period of time, - regardless of how well you take care of your phone - so that it forces you to buy a new one. I could have saved so much in the past if I knew this beforehand.

Hahaha, this really works! I spent the entire day worrying about why my lightning port wasn't connecting as it used to. I began to wonder if my charging port might be damaged, or if it was simply the fact that I've been using this iPhone for three years, and its components might be showing signs of wear and tear. So, off to the supermarket I went, where I purchased a rather pricey wireless charger. To my dismay, the Chinese wireless charger, despite being touted as "fast," only managed to charge my iPhone up to 59% in four hours.
Later that night, curiosity got the best of me, and I decided to seek guidance from online tutorials on how to clean the charging port. Lo and behold, I Came across this video which held the solution. Following the instructions, I replicated what was suggested, and now, my charging port is back to its former glory. The culprit? A tiny piece of my jeans had somehow managed to find its way inside the charging port, causing all the fuss.😂📱👖

My iPhoneXR took an unfortunate bath in the washing machine my mistake. Fortunately the phone is water proof and I was thrilled it was working after the washing ordeal. Next morning tried to use the lightening charger.....and it would slide in all the way and would not charge...took a needle just to feel around....nothing....blew with compressed air and then a hair dryer..no luck....my thinking was off to the Apple store for an all day ordeal....OH KNOW!...then saw your UA-cam post....I got out the toothpicks...moved them as directed in the portal...low and behold....it worked....now it can charge....thank you so much for posting this simple fix to avoid the long time consuming and expensive Apple store line...thanks again...

Yep, I thought my phone was broken. I've had many iphones and have cleaned my share of lint but for some reason did not think of this. The toothpick got some out but I ended up using a needle/hat pin and got a lot more out. At first, with the toothpick, I thought "that's not enough to have made a difference." But when I used the needle and started pulling out bigger clumps I knew that my problem was fixed before I even tested it. Thanks Pete!

I was just about to bring it in for repair tmr and then that’s when God made me see this video. I used the tooth pick and couldn’t believe the amount of stuff that came out. Well I have had this phone for like 2 plus years so there was ALOT of build up in their. My phone has been having shortages for the past year and it just got worse and worse until it stopped charging but after doing this my phone is charging like it’s new. My charging port was really slack but now it is as tight as a new phone’s charging port. I recommend trying this if you are thinking about buying a new charging port.

I was willing to go out and spend a lot of money to fix it, except that it's after midnight, and tomorrow is Sunday.... Really didn't expect this to work, but it did. Very grateful to you. One thing I'd add - at the end, I gave the phone a few hard taps with the port end pointing downwards, and a bit more stuff came out. Oh - and watch out for some toothpicks having splintery ends. The ones I had to hand are obviously poor quality compared to the ones you're using.

Your video is much appreciated! Omg. I was planning on paying 70 bucks to replace my charger port. Came across this video but didn't have a toothpick at the time.. but still resorted to my 3 year old nephew stripping the port trying to plug it in the charger. A few days later I visted my best friend and she had some toothpicks laying around and gave this a try with an air duster as well - and it fixed the problem. I made sure I came back and found your video again to send my many thanks to you for posting this. Much appreciated! Thank you for sharing 💛‼️

Yesterday night I watched your video after my iPhone 11 charging place frustrated me for several months! Before I watched your video, I went to a nearby phone repairing shop and the owner told me that I need to pay 99€ to fix the problem! But I refused and came back home and watched your video suddenly! Then in the morning, I told my wife about it. Initially she didn’t believe me but then we cleaned the port with a needle gently! The amount of sponge type trash that was removed from the port was shocking! I wish if I could attach the picture here! After we cleaned everything and removed all the trashes, we charged my dying phone! Everything works perfectly and I am super happy now! My wife is still in disbelief! Thank you sir for saving us from another disaster of paying to repair the phone or buying a new one 😅😅😅

Not gonna lie, I was initially a little pissed off when I saw an almost insultingly simple fix for this charging issue, but I wound up digging a MASSIVE amount of dirt and lint out of my phone's charging port. Like, it dwarfed the pile of stuff in this video.
My phone is charging instantly now whenever I hook it up! This is seriously such a relief. I would spend so long trying to hook my phone up each night, constantly plugging and unplugging, and trying to find that one position where my phone would take a charge. No more of that!

    • @PeteJohnsMusic
      @PeteJohnsMusic  3 роки тому +1

Great feedback. And I hear you about the video being borderline insulting. I nearly didn’t make it for that reason, but kept talking to people who were having these issues and it became clear that very few folks realised it was likely just crud in the socket.

My phone’s power cord would go off if I touched it.
Concerned, I checked UA-cam and caught this video.
I didn’t think that this work.
I thought that perhaps the connection got bent.
    But i tried it anyway.
I didn’t have a toothpick, but i did have a plastic dental pick. I followed instructions, but did not think that I grabbed anything. At least, anything I could see with the naked eye.
Well, . . . IT WORKED! , L O L I can’t believe it, but now the cord can be pushed and pulled, but it still charges.
