Hi coach Tyler all the weeks I train with you from Mexico! Your videos are very helpfull for being a better fencer, thanks for takng your time to do these excellents videos
Thanks so much, I*ll incorporate some of those in my regular exercises, even for our training (when we will finally be allowed to continue with it, that is), in completion of the home training / workout video for Jugger fencing I made recently. Some good points there.
James Ptah movements are also similar in badminton and also some types of dancing as well. Quick movements with good balance.its the reason why lomachenko spent several years training traditional dancing. Bruce lee is known to have used fencing footwork in his own training its incredibly valuable in combat sports and self defence. I’ve never done fencing myself but can definitely see the benefit to my martial arts training practicing these types of drills.
Hi coach! Your video is so informatic and practically useful that it helps me a lot. By the way, I want you to ask this. Is there any benefit of skip lunge for foil fencer ? I've watched skip lunge in saber match but not in usual foil match.(maybe in my memory, Race Imboden used to do skip lunge time to time.) Can you tell me what the benefit of skip lunge for foil fencer is? Thanks for sharing this video!
The skip lunge is definitely more of a saber action. However, It can be used in foil fencing. It is good for when your opponent is trying to pull distance. the skip lunge paired with a good feint can be very effective.
Dont forget to fix flat feet. Any martial artist with lazy feet has a world to learn about posture, and therefore will always weaknesses on his structure. Grab the ground and you will notice how your leg muscles begin engaging up into your glutes, making your upper body sit comfortably on your core muscles. These exercices should be done with that concept in mind for added usefulness.
Great videos, just one little remark: The attack is called a flèche (French for arrow), not flesh. Normally I'm not pedantic enough to comment on it, but 'flesh attack' looks really weird to me.
Hi. Thanks so much for all the work you put into your video. It's nice to see quality instruction and comprehensive details from skilled professionals like yourself. I'm still developing my channel and would like to do some colaboratory work with someone. If there is any information I can offer you from subjects on my channel that may support your future work, let me know. An example is Kinesiology (Movement sciences). I studied in College and have a list of videos on the topic. -Best
Curious, why do you want to hold the rear arm out in the en garde at the beginning. The rear arm shouldn't extend until losing weight forward in the lunge/fleche.
I think its because it helps you with positioning your body especially your shoulders because of course we want to show the least amount of target for the opponent.
Do you stretch after you're done with your training ? you really should! so they don't get too tired the following days I'm far from being an experimented fencer but I'd say you should just let your body rest for one day from time to time like every two or three days
Thanks so much Tyler! Training from Canada!
Thanks for the free trainings! Incorporating this into my boxing training

Aaaand now repeat that for the back leg so You have a nice 2 hours of workout :D
I am left handed so should I do some of the exercises on the other hand? (My son has this problem)
You should adapt the exerciceses to your main Hand since thats how you play, ig its alrewdy too late
I am also left handed
Il French your vidéos are the n’est lessons or all on internet . Il s a pity. It cost me understand vert easy. Thnaks a lot
Яагаад зогсоод байгаа юм
дядь, ну звук надо по громче
So if am an epee fencer should i do all this exercises except the last one ?
Try to do all the exercises and then you can improvise a personal style in your fencing. Nothing is written in stone
