I'm a radiologist who reads tons of back MRI. It's incredible how many people have atrophy of the supportive muscles deep in the low back (multifidus) from never getting into a full flexion. I've started recommending the Jefferson curls and seated good mornings I learned from you anytime i see this atrophy in a person with reasonably healthy looking bones and discs. Imagine the pain and suffering (and money) people can save by healing their backs with this. Literally billions of dollars, and a huge contributor to the opioid epidemic.

@jointruenation Just listen to your symptoms and allow for feedback time so you know if it's a motion that will cause a lingering flare-up. I was in a massive plane crash at 8 years old. Multiple discs got pretty messed up in various ways, along with both my hips. Somehow I didn't even know I had these injuries until about 18. I made no effort to rehab myself for the next 23 years. At age 41, having constant back and hip issues, at 6'3" 120 pounds, I had basically given up on my body. Then one day I just said enough is enough. I've been working out for 3 years now. I was SO weak, and definitely didn't know what I was doing when I started. I made alot of mistakes. I lacked discipline, I tweaked my back more times than I can count. I endured excruciating sciatic nerve pain for a few months. The setbacks seemed endless. But, I stuck with it and I've been educating myself with brilliant channels like this one. At age 44 I've put on 25 pounds of muscle. I'm in better shape than I ever imagined possible and I feel better and better every day. I used to look in the mirror and cry, and well, I still do, but these are tears of joy. @@dogie8c I found a really good exercise that helps is holding a kettle bell with both arms in a sort of narrow horse stance hanging between your legs and then swinging it up while also extending your legs, repeating 30-50 times. I'm in my 50's and one of my goals is to run a 10-second 100-yard dash. I recently was the anchor on a 4X100 relay team competing against athletes in their 20s, 30s and 40s and must say I was the fastest during the race despite me having patellar tendonitis in both knees as a result of overtraining. So during the two weeks prior to this race I focused almost exclusively on ATG exercises to bulletproof my knees. Lo and behold my knees felt great before the race and I pushed myself near 100 percent. To say spectators jaws dropped was an understatement.
@@TheKneesovertoesguy Sharing my story is the least I could do as you've provided me with not just the motivation to perform athletic feats but enabling me to do things I never thought was possible at my age, largely out of fear of getting injured. My next goal is to dunk a basketball like I did when I was in my prime during my late teens and early twenties. For me, there's nothing that gives me more satisfaction and pleasure from an athletic standpoint than to dunk a regulation 10-foot rim. I should also mention that I never took performance enhancing drugs, putting me at a disadvantage to many I've competed against in the past. The ATG method levels the playing field giving those who take the natural route the ability to heal, recover and resume training ASAP without PEDs. But then again, many of such ones whom I've competed against have torn ligaments, tendons and muscles, setting them back several months, years or giving up sports altogether--so going natural is the best alternative in the long run if one knows how to train properly.

You've really done something special with your entire presentation. Been observing you from the earlier days and you have been maintaining a really nice balance between quality and the need to make money. You have always been so giving with the free level while providing clear benefits for the paid level. I'm an often-poor hobo with an authority complex so it's nice to be able to continue learning from you without having to pay. But the quality of customer service was obviously high during my experimental month of ATG membership. I know structure and repetition will bring results but I just can't do that so I take ideas from you and play with them and learn a lot. Your mom was just lovely in the email exchange we had, such a nice lady. I really vibe with people who walk their talk. That's why I'm writing this, to give you buzz because I'm not an ideal $ customer. A lot of people would be wise to buy your stuff. Backwards treadmills could be a normal thing.
Wow! I really appreciate your message and glad you enjoyed your experimental month with ATG! Your support is greatly appreciated and stay in touch! Keep it up!
I can't say thank you enough for making this information accessible and easy to digest. I've been doing the zero program for a month now and seeing improvements! Now to convince my mom to do it 😁

But then again, many of such ones whom I've competed against have torn ligaments, tendons and muscles, setting them back several months, years or giving up sports altogether--so going natural is the best alternative in the long run if one knows how to train properly.
thank you so much... im sure you cant hear this enough but you are changing peoples lives and making them better!!!! thank
you from the bottom of my heart...
You are so welcome! Really appreciate it!
dude you're awesome. the knowledge. the spirit. the generosity. thank you so much keep it up
I appreciate that!
Thank you for keeping the ads out of these videos - that speaks volumes to your character. I'm still doing a few of your recommendations EVERY TIME I GO TO THE GYM (the split squats on platforms primarily, other bits and pieces when I can/when I remember). This program is S-level quality - top notch info!!!
Really appreciate it and glad this is going well for you! Keep it up!
I am 63 and Was completly stiff. I started working to open up a few years ago...your achievments are really motivating!! Wonderful
That’s awesome! You got this!
@@TheKneesovertoesguy in my case loosening up was painful. But the pleasure of increased mobility compensates
Thank you so much! I've been dealing with low back pain for a decade now. In avoiding pain, I think ended up letting my back go weak. I'll start on these exercises now.
You got this!
It makes me feel good to know there are wonderful people out there! Thank you very much!
You are so kind!
Oh my God... thank you 😢 Dealing with lower back through the VA right now.
You got this! Keep me posted!
@@TheKneesovertoesguydoes these exercises work for the lower back while there is pain?
The split squat in itself has done significant gains for my lower back and almost entirely eliminated my knee pain.
That’s awesome!
Same. Had patella tendonitis / osgood-schlatter in my knees my entire youth. My knees ached all the time from playing sports year round. I'm talking like 15+ years of pain. Started doing different forms of split squats and working on my mobility a bit and haven't had knee pain in over 5 years... like none at all lol life changing if you ask me.
@@stinkpickle7586 Did you do the exercises from the video or some other because I have exactly the same syndromes as you and right now pain in two knees(osgood schlatter on the left one ) + lower back (tailbone) thanks in advance?

Keep it up!
@@TheKneesovertoesguy Ya dude, thanks, be well :)
Everything as usual....only the best!
Appreciate it!
I can't say thank you enough for making this information accessible and easy to digest. I've been doing the zero program for a month now and seeing improvements! Now to convince my mom to do it 😁
WOW! So happy for you! That makes my day! Keep it up!

Thank you so much for your videos, I got heal hooked in BJJ (it 'unscrews' the knee joint like opening a jam jar) and 3 herniated discs from a car crash plus scoliosis and your videos are really helping. I'm so grateful!
Glad these could help! Keep me posted if you have any questions!
Bro you have no idea how you Changed my life with your content 🙏❤️ best regards from Germany Brother

Thank you so much for bo clickbait and love the simple idea that everything can be progressed to your level like bodyweight to maintain and weighted to increase strength and similar exercises are used in all of your videos . Another bonus is all of the exercises can be done at home
Glad you liked it! Thank you for the support!
Thanks for pulling all this together. Very very helpful. Couple of your videos a few months back have been really encouraging for me concerning knee mobility and reduction in back pain. I have every intention of eventually getting atg certified as a coach but I just lost my job, have to move and we just had our fourth kid... So in the near ish future... That said I have a lot of respect for the way you put this information out there and make it accessible.
Really appreciate your comment and rooting for you! Please keep me posted, you got this!
A minute in and I’ve had a revelation. Since I herniated my L3 18 months ago, I’ve had weakened inner thighs. I’ve seen multiple PT’s and Chiro’s, no one mentioned that it would be related to my back. This whole time, I just thought I was falling apart. Thank you thank you for your amazing content and God bless 🙏🏼👊🏼
So happy this could help! You got this!
Ben, just Thankful for you!!! Thank you! Just thank you!!!! You have improved my life! Just saying thank you seems insufficient to convey how I feel. 🙏🙏🙏
Really appreciate your support and so happy to help!
This is really epic content and making the effort of sharing what you know in an area, resonates with me.
The idea of strengthening and lengthening that you are proposing a lot is probably saving lives.
Thank you so much and appreciate the support!

Awesome video- I sit all day for my job so my back is in real need of these exercises. The scaled approach and progressions and details you’ve mentioned are gold. Thanks so much - I'll start adding the quadratus lumborum exercises to my routine 👍
That’s great! Thanks for the support and let me know how this goes!
I did crazy middle split (pancake) in yoga yesterday easily because of random dumbbells on legs exercise (butterfly) challenge from this guy. Nobody else in class could do them.
Good work!
You are a legend, Ben and crew! Thank you.
Thank you so much!
Ooooh my back is so painful for so many years. I've made a lot of progress, but I just found this channel and I'm going to add these and some of your leg exercises to my routine.
Let me know how it goes! You got this🫡🙏
Honestly this video really saved me, thank you so so much!!
I learned about your channel from Dr. Mike's video❤
So happy to hear that! Appreciate the support!
This is all great! I was really tight in my outer hips/glutes muscles and the two stretches that have also helped immensly in alleviating my lower back pain are the lateral knee-to-chest and the internal rotation stretch while laying on my back.
Way to go!
this is very valuable information . The spine and lower back pain requires such immediate attention, you pay penalty of pain each day it gets worse. Thanks for sharing
Glad it was helpful!

This stuff works 100%, you just have to drop your ego at the door.
Always felt insecure a bit doing pancakes in a busy gym or having to regress a ton on split squats.
Years later, I am more flexible and practically have no lower back or knee pain. ATG exercises have changed my life
Wow! So happy to hear this has been working well for you! Keep it up!
I think you should turn on adds man. You bring great value and deserve it! I pretty sure no one would disagree

Less than a minute in and I’m discovering my lower back pain may be inner thigh immobility. I bet it contributes to my squat instability. Good stuff!
It definitely can, movements like the seated good morning could be a gem for you!
Thank you for this!! It’s seriously what I needed right now.
