Really really appreciate your effort for making those videos. As a parent, I could not help my young fencer at home...you are a life saver.

Hey I’m really trying to work on my arm extensions without trying to use so much shoulder but, I’m kinesthetic learner so I need to know how it feels. So does the extension feel more like a chop than a jab? What part of the arm do you feel it in
after doing it right a bunch of times?

The arm extension should feel more like a jab. Not a chop! You should feel it in your triceps (bottom of your upper arm) and your deltoid (top of arm where it connects to your shoulder).

Excellent video and look forward to more. Quick question, is it important to place markers on your training dummy?
I use an old fencing jacket i inherited but have not put any markers on it yet.
Thanks and look forward to seeing more of your content.

Thanks, Dude of Valor! If you are a Saber fencer putting markers on your target is not necessary. However, if you fence Epee or Foil putting markers on your target is definitely a valuable tool to improve your point control and accuracy.

Fencer's Edge I am a foilest (though occasionally fence sabre and Epee at local competitions).
I shall put markers on the jacket.
Do you ever use an opposing sword with the training dummy to aid in beat and disengages?

Yes! Many years ago I built a target with an arm, blade, and foot. I miss that target! It got lost during moving. I plan on someday making a new one.

@@FencersEdge Hey coach Tyler I have been watching your videos for a while now and I've been wondering how do you improve your defense or parries. Is that something you cannot do by yourself because you need a partner or is there some other way to perfect your defense.
