Turn up ur sonar and watch the interaction with ur lure.
They usually behave pretty well if you grab the base of their tail with one hand like a baseball bat. Then put ur other hand under their belly.
Also, it’s not uncommon for them to struggle to get back down when the surface temp is high. Having a descender ready helps get them back down.

Great tips on jigging up some nice lakers. I like the rods too got some backbone yet load up nice and give you a good fight.

Why do you use the fish gripper and not just hold them normal?

They wiggle a lot. It helps hold them still for the video. They don't move as much if I control the head. Less chance of dropping them as well.
