This guy has a vision if you've watched him from day one and how he drove that coffee shop idea its the blueprint for success. He took a calculated risk and its paying off.
I’ve retired toThailand from Boston at 65 3 months ago. We are currently traveling to different areas and beaches looking for the place to settle. We’ll be in hua hin tha month of July then on to Phuket at rawai beach for the month of august. We’ve been watching your Chanel and plan to visit maybelles garden. Looking forward to seeing you both.
I like what you guys are doing to the coffee garden looks great. The house plan looks good too. You are giving very good advice about retirement. I’ll be 80 in August (I’m a male in USA). I owned a pharmacy and my wife started running it about halfway through Covid and I kind of retired because I got Prostrate cancer. I went through all the treatments and I’m “cured”. Problem is I still have my back problem which got a lot worst. I was a person always doing something but now I can barely move, can’t walk 200 feet and have zero energy. I’m a car person that was always in the car and now I’m lucky to get out on a small outing once a week. I had big plans about closing the pharmacy and spending a month or two in Thailand. Now I can’t even walk to the gate at the airport so how do I expect to roam around the street food or malls. I can’t. So do it while you can. I my case I degraded in weeks not months or years. Do it while you can. 🤠❤️
Good Video Richie and Maybelle 😊. I'm now 64, been a single parent for a long time. Been taking care of my children and helping others all my life. And Yes, Life is truly to short. I told my children that I am moving to the Philippines 🇵🇭 this year. It's sink or swim Time. Children these days think that they are Entitled and get everything for free. Time to contribute to society and be responsible. Hopefully I will live 20 years 🙏 so I can enjoy and relax for me. Will come to Thailand 🇹🇭 for any medical issues and visit you and other Vloggers. Live like tomorrow could be your last day. ✨️ Stay Safe 💕 💞 🙏 🙏
Another interesting video. About your second holiday let, if you want to keep it natural and to fit in with the surroundings and not look out of place, maybe consider bamboo fencing.
You have the right business plan, take over the area you are in,or build it and they will come, the more people that know where your at im sure your business will double in the next year. As I always tell people in business, run your business, don't let your business run you, and always make time for each other, keep going, when I come back I hope I can stay permanently.
I totally agree with you about the age thing and take my hat off to in the way you have set out your plans to do things now and not put off. You have set out with your goals and are doing a amazing job keep it up mate 👍 well done 👏
Hey guy's congrats with the businesses. Been here from day 1 and seen you grow into a successful team. Chok dee for the future! I left that film running and got on with something else 🤣
You're right Richie, time is our main resource. I've been stuck outside my Thailand home since about the time you arrived. Only too aware that the clock is ticking! Thanks to you both for your blogs. You and a few others have helped keep me in touch with where I need to be. Which is Rawai for me. Look forward to meeting you in the garden, sooner rather than later.
You are basically subletting somebody's property and spending your own money on it. Needs to be good profit and a decent contract as the landlord can end up being the only winner.
Hey.. nice forecasts and planning... you've got it.. conservative steps.. as you forecast and plan.. great to see and hear.. yeah its a nervy time.. business .. heheehha .. keep doing what your heart tells you.. and the best thing is you have a real trooper bye your side .. Maybelle ...
Hi,Richie and,Maybelle. Looks good the kitchen, will be a big difference when all is completed.Patience is the key and,you couldnt be in a more beautiful place like Kata in paradise.Always good to see you guys great video.Looking forward to the next one. Sawadee kap kop kun kap....🙏🏼😊👍
I wish you every success cobber Thx for sharing your thoughts & updates regarding your shop & Unit. Love the fact you’re a straight shooter 😊 We arrive in Phuket July 16, hopefully the new bug will be gone by then. Take care guys Cheers 😊🇦🇺👍
I admire the open chat about the topic of our lifespan and not pulling the trigger on dreams. I’m a 34 year old Brit living in brighton and have a love for seeing new places. I run my own business online and have inadvertently saved a load of cash up and can’t quite pin point my ‘dream’. I do want to experience living abroad rather than what I do now forever (loads of holidays every year - not complaining!)
I'm experiencing some unexpected health issues recently. I completely agree with your point....don't wait... I may not be up for traveling soon. That crushes some of my dreams. Too many don't understand you can't buy back time.
Watching since he was unsteadily hoping things go well... Richie and Maybelle have a rare consideration and have love for each other .. life aint easy .. wish you both healthy life ❤
Love the video Richie❤ we’re so happy for you two! Also thanks for the tips on this vlog….Colin & myself cannot wait to make our move to Thailand 🇹🇭 We wish we were as as young you & Maybelle..we’re living vicariously through you & cannot wait to visit your beautiful cafe again! Best wishes from San Francisco 😊
Ok, before we start all the business talk, I just want to say next time I am visiting Thailand I am gonna be bringing garbage tweezers, I usually like to take some long walks in the mornings, and I might as well pick up and fill a bag with garbage/plastic on my way. Last time I was there actually inquired about some tweezers in some local DIY shops, but couldn't find any, so next time I will bring my own.
Thanks for the kick up the butt your right about middle age putting things off 🙏😊just as a matter of interest what you use for your videos as in camera sound as it v good, all the best
Do you have any provisions for laundry in that under house area? Especially imp9ortant ion a beach community that sand and sea water does not make it into the house proper. Drive in, drop laundry hit the washer button and go up stairs to change. Congrats on the Driver's License. Was it a difficult road test?
I would have a picnic table with a couple of hammocks at the back of the space with a shower to wash off beach things and a washing line at the side for wet clothes etc
Great people,I've been to Kata a few times..over the last ten years..but I'm not a guy on holiday any more.. my wife and I are looking for that place that we both will be happy to settle..Kata..looking really good..
Just a different idea, instead of an ice bath install a hot tub / whirlpool. This will be more fun for couples. Ice bath is suitable for extremely sportive people and does need more maintenence, providing the ice. If you were on soi ta-iad in Chalong, an ice bath would be (more) suitable. And put a fridge there. Sitting in the pool, sipping on a cold leo or chang might be like heaven 🙂
Hi Richie, really always enjoy your videos, been watching you and Maybelline from the start...who's building them condo's across from you coffee shop?...might be Russian lol!..don't let them offer you a deal you can't refuse 😉 lol!...take care and a thumbs up!...safe safe and take care!
Thank you for this video. I turned 40 yesterday (the 16th I’m in America) and my husband is half Thai. We want to relocate to Thailand. I am in the middle of nursing school. But we want to make it there in the next 5 years. I feel a sense of urgency in making the moves necessary to relocate and we are trying to decide if we will do half time in Thailand or move entirely. Does anyone know if it is true that if your father was born and raised in Thailand, that his children have the option for citizenship? My husband’s father is 83, born and raised in Thailand and from what we have researched it seems like a viable option…
In your face ha ha. It's good that you speak out what most people prefer to ignore. Life is not given, it's a precious gift, it can end any time. The future does not exist, the past does not exist. We only live now and it should be just experienced, without worries about possible negtavive outcomes. Instead just live, try, fail, try, love, be kind, be greatful for the journey.
Hi Rich ,met you a couple of times . could you tell me name of that restaurant in Phuket town - large outdoor area and car park facilities you visited past few weeks and were impressed. Also can you recommend any quality hotels for short term in beach area karon or kata. Thanks Bruce (Australia)
i like the idea of the rental next door, but i would just do the hedge, and a temporary pool out the back and let it long term, there isnt that much differnce on return when you factor in all the cleaning cost's constant check in check out texts , hassle, staff cost to maintain , reading meters for utilities for maybe 4/5 k a month profit.. rent long term and make 3/4 k hassle free, as other houses on the street empty i would take them long term and also rent them out long term.
Buyers of the villas at starting prices of 158,000 English pounds will obviously have their own luxury kitchen. Why would they bother crossing the road for a fry up and coffee when they or their live in maid can cook it?? Another thing, during construction of those villas who will want to visit Maybella's for a meal watching bulldozers coming and going, jackhammers pounding rocks and dirt and dust flying everywhere???
U don’t need to buy tuning machines r weights u should lookup elastic bands the come in different sizes and they will give u good work out for people who r they for a short time I think ur ideas r good 😊😊the amount of food maybe eats but she looks in great shape that could be something to look up
This guy has a vision if you've watched him from day one and how he drove that coffee shop idea its the blueprint for success. He took a calculated risk and its paying off.
Yes 100%
It’s so inspiring to watch.
And he did I with his UK credit card as the finance. Balls on the line and it’s paid off. Respect to him for giving it a shot
it's his wife that made it all possible for him in Thailand. he's there on marriage visa. more credit to his thai wife
I only hope the partnership is very solid and lasts forever 🙏🍷😊
Slow progress is still progress guys. I have massive respect for how the 2 of you pulled all of this off.
A successful person is someone that tried one more time. Thanks for inspiring me to try one more time.
Fantastic episode I agree with everything you have said the clock of life is ticking enjoy it now
Your right Rich about time and life. Everyday counts 🙏 always enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing

Except his stats are so wrong!
Such a cute couple… keep on keepin on! You guys are doing a great job!

Congrats on the driver’s license! Good luck with the new shop once the work is completed!
How long is your lease? I’d be hesitant making so many upgrades to a property you’re just renting.
You are basically subletting somebody's property and spending your own money on it. Needs to be good profit and a decent contract as the landlord can end up being the only winner.
love watching all that you guys do 🙏
Keep downstairs simple, not cluttered, I am looking forward to having a pint next year at the shop.

Have you bought those places you are going to rent out?
About time i miss you guy's
I bailed out to Thailand at 36. 15yrs ago. Never looked back. Fortunately worked on the rigs so could live anywhere.

So true! U can’t buy time and sadly it’s running out 4 all of us, time to make changes 💯

Hi Richie, did you say the Thai driving licence is only 2 years? If so, is it just a straightforward renewal are do you have to watch the video again?

Good video Richie , i liked your response when maybelle asked how many inches?
Exactly, no time like the present! No point planning forever and then dying before you execute it!

We actually like to travel so called low season the beaches are beautiful its not soo many tourists we don’t mind dodging a bit of rain either
