100% behind you, social media is the scorge of the would nasty horrible people making comments on your life, keep your life private I don't do any social media at all and I have no stupid people being a pain in the ass because they can't get to me. stay private is the only way for you and your family.

In delving into data about Thailand because of my interest in visiting the country this October, have watched several channels for my due diligence. Don't let negative comments or "haters" influence your thinking. You are where you are at this stage of your life because of independent thinking and decision making. Continue to be yourself; you're one of the "good" guys! Truly good people know how to stay in their lanes. I am a 74+ year old first generation Chinese American living in Southern California USA; married for 48 years with 4 grown children. Times and people are a stark contrast to my generation. Haters don't deserve your time or energy! Will continue to watch your channel, being a loyal viewer and staunch supporter. Good fortune, health, fun and happiness. Stay safe as well

The state of that beach is heartbreaking.
My daughter was introduced to a fish aquarium before the tv and her first word was ‘vish’. She still loves fish to this day and she will be 50 next year. TV was never her babysitter, we did car rides, park walks in the pram etc. no social media back then. My daughter’s friends all got mobiles as soon as they could but she refused but succumbed about 8 years later.
I completely understand your concerns about showing your daughter on UA-cam. I remember when we ran into each other at Villa Market and I felt like I already knew you a bit. Your worries are absolutely valid. The simple answer is to step back from social media. We live in a world that can be quite toxic, and it's hard to know who you're really dealing with online and especially face to face.

When I met you for the first time I had the same issue I felt like I knew you well, because I’ve been watching you from the start When you watch specific UA-camrs, you’re investing yourself into that person and their content. It did make me laugh when you said some people don’t like you. How can anyone not like you 😂 sometimes you got to roll with the punches maybe you had a little bit of an uppercut and you were shaken. steady yourself and move forward, i’ve been working my arse off to try and make enough money to come over there and live permanently and you’re a part of that because I look at you and think of all the foreigners that go to Thailand and fail. I think you’re a success Personally, I like to listen to you. Talk about whatever.
People who've followed you and your wife a long time support you and know what good guys you are. Keep your daughter off the internet, it's for the best. Your channel is great and sending you only the best wishes for every aspect of your lives.
Hey, I know where you're coming from. My (Thai) wife has a YT channel with over 130,000 subscribers and the few times that our daughter has been on the channel, we have got comments that seemed inappropriate. One comment went something like, "I come to this channel for your thai food recipes not to watch 'day care' for your child". We learned to really minimize the amount of time our daughter gets into our videos. Also, let me tell you, the wife and I really love your casual lifestyle content, some of the best moments on your channel was watching you and maybell become proud parents. Lastly, with regard to screen time for our daughter, we never let her use a phone, tablet, or TV until she was around 3 years old. Around 3 years old, we started allowing her to view some educational style videos that help her learn colors, numbers, alphabet. We worked with her a lot, but also let her watch some cartoons as well. Now she is 4 years old, almost 5 and we do let her watch non-educational stuff. Mostly, she likes harry potter and Bluey and Bingo cartoon. But we limit the amount of screen time she can have. Good luck to you and the family in all things.
Hi Ritchie. In many ways I’m similar to you, have my own own business in Thailand, have a UA-cam channel and also have children. I made a conscious decision a long time ago to not feature my young children in any of my social media.
Firstly was the security issue that you touched upon, about there being a lot of strange people online.
Secondly, I just wanted my kids to have a choice whether they want their lives to be in public. I didn’t have a particularly good time as a child growing up and I’m glad that my life wasn’t on social media then as it wasn’t even invented! Do you remember that embarrassing time when Your family members would get out the photo albums and show them around when you’re relatives were visiting? It’s a similar feeling to that, only I’m more intimate one these days. Many people are quite surprised when they visit me in the bar that I even have children. Although I do refer to them quite a lot in the members area.
I hope you, Maybelle and the youngster are all doing splendidly and hope to see you soon.

Instead of all this rant he's giving he should just simply say he's changing from family to business videos. I watched this channel coz of his family videos. It's not like I'm watching David Beckham and Victoria

Family safety comes first, you don't have to explain yourself, you're a parent now and that's your priority. Keep doing what you're doing and enjoy your daughter while she is young as they grow up very quickly.

To be honest Ritchie, your channel is about sharing your life on YT. Choosing not to share the biggest part of your life … well.. your choice, naturally.
Love your lifestyle videos Richie, and respect your decision not to include your family in future videos, but slating Social media is a bit much when the advertising for your coffee shop on UA-cam is the reason you get a lot of customers.
As for doing property videos, good luck hopefully it works out but its not something id be intrested in watching as a long time subscriber, wish you and your family well for the future ❤

Don’t blame you! My wife gave birth to our daughter this week in Hua Hin. She’s in the NICU for a bit as she came a little early. But in no event would I ever post images or vids of my daughter on any social media site that can be accessed by people I don’t personally know. Too many crazies out there and what is the benefit to your child really? There isn’t any. Only downsides for her. You’re also doing the right thing keeping her away from tv and social media. Doing the same with our daughter. I have a 2 year old niece who already can’t be separated from her phone. That’s never going to happen with our daughter. I also have the benefit of already raising a daughter who never had social media when she was young and is now a successful doctor in the U.S.

We had our son here in bangkok a month before you so I'm kinda in the same mind that phones will not be a part of my son's life until later. I choose to be a parent and feel it's lazy to let a phone babysit my son.

I often wonder about my own kids and their social media consumption. Will we all look back 20 years from now and be horrified that we all allowed kids to consume social media, and that social media will end up in a similar category to smoking, maybe not damaging physical health but certainly damaging mental health. I wouldn’t be surprised if in the near future all social media will be banned for under 18s, frankly speaking this generation coming through now were the first to grow up with social media, the whole thing is one big experiment and our kids are right in the middle of it. You think it’s bad now, wait till your child is 10+ years old and all their friends are on TikTok, the peer pressure is intense as if your child is the one left out then this causes its own set of problems. It’s a tough topic for parents this one.

Social media is full of junk people, in my day they were called armchair critics. I have other words for them... You carry on making money, if you can from YT. I personally wouldn't of dreamt of sharing all the videos of my kids when they were first born and the whole hospital thing so maybe you have realised you were wrong to do that and feel guilty now which is good. Having a family changes your life , decisions you make, things you share and things that may not have effect you before now may effect you emotionally. The biggest problems with being a vlogger people view your channel to see your life as you have been very open about from the beginning. Weather the comments are negative and positive people will comment either way. So keep your heads up , focus on the positivty legend.

One group produces content about themselves in Thailand, the other is more private about their social life and produces content only about Thailand. big decision and respectfully as a father totally understand the choice, Maybelle was able to make the personal decision to be on the channel, when your daughter grows up if she wants be part or involved she can make that choice to appear but she might not want be any part of it and having them grow up in that world of UA-cam you not really giving them a choice as you would be making it a part of their day to day norm.
