I couldn’t agree more. I was at a record shop buying the Dark Side Of The Moon anniversary edition and the employee said ‘good to see you’re buying the right Pink Floyd album. The Wall is too political.’ Thus ensued a long debate about the two albums. I essentially tried to make the same point you made above as it is an incredibly well produced and assembled album, a true concept album before these existed. I love both albums but The Wall is in a league of its own.
When analog video was done scene by scene like The Wall movie it was untouchable… if we aren’t living in caves burning wood to survive this will be being reacted to a century from now ~~~timeless
Sit in a comfy chair, pour a half glass of a good Kentucky Bourbon, smoke a J and press play in order to have an emotional musical experience. Life changing really. ❤
Most unique sound of all time that nobody has been able to recreate or steal even though we've all tried. Amazing lyrics. Catchy while also being avant garde and "out there". There is nobody better and I don't think it's even close. I love everyone who rips on Gilmour for being a one trick pony...if he's a one trick pony, he had the best trick of all time.
I put Pink Floyd and Tool in the same tier for the same reasons. Both made their own unique sounds when everyone else was sounding the same and did it with near perfection.
If you didn’t catch it,Gilmour sang the beginning part of this song and Roger Waters finishes the back end . For me ,it symbolizes the struggle between asking for help and then desperately crying out for help. Both sang this song beautifully.
Pink Floyd is a musical genre in and of itself. Very few other bands can compete with the originality and uniqueness of Pink Floyd. Greatest band of all time.
Reaction videos far superior to most others. No screaming. No bouncing up and down. No pot smoking. No horn blowing. Just high quality audio, serious listening, and sincere commenting.
You got it Polo....there's Pink Floyd....and then there is everybody else! And it's the same with concerts....there's Pink Floyd....and then everyone else you've ever seen!!! It's just facts, it's an experience
Good cans on your head, sitting on your living room floor in the middle of the night, and occasionally talking to the whole world is the most Pink Floyd thing there ever was.
TBH I have trouble listening to one of these songs without wanting to listen to the whole thing. They form pictures in your head and whilst some are easier for a standalone listen than others I just want the next to start so I can continue the story.
It’s sped up slightly. It’s about a half or whole step higher pitched than normal. Like this audio was ripped from vinyl where the record player was spinning too fast.
I know everyone says this about a lot of albums... but Dark Side and The Wall are both examples of "the sum is greater than the parts", even though the parts are monumental by themselves. Please listen to each in their entirety from start to finish. Life changing.
The Wall is so, so dark yet has some of the most beautiful music created in the last century. I know Polo wants to come to each track fresh, but, comment readers, and Polo eventually, listen to The Wall in one sitting. Life-changing stuff. Dark Side of the Moon is another one to listen to entire

This is one of those timeless epic anthems that defined a generation. I was thinking, imagine being a teenager in the 70s, growing up with Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Who, Rolling Stones n many, many more incredible bands 🤯

The entire album is incredible, but this track is particularly pertinent to today’s world. Gilmore plays both the guitar and fret-less bass on this track and it’s just brilliant
If you haven't dived into Alan Parsons yet, he was the sound engineer who worked for Apple when Floyd was recording Dark Side. His own work and band, the Alan Parsons Project, is fantastic. And he has a massive catalog of stuff you would like as well.
You are, without a doubt, one of the best reaction dudes out there. Love the way you quickly comment and let the music continue rather than dwelling on a single comment. So real. And your comments are so insightful and spot on. Keep it up!!!
David Gilmore is a poet. His note placement is pure perfection. His solo on the Pulse concert for “comfortably numb “ is hailed by some as one of the greatest solos of all time.

You need to react to all the songs on the wall so you can play the whole album over and over. The way the songs flow together telling the story of Pink will make you a bigger fan. Maybe a movie reaction to "The Wall" would be the way to go.

Their stuff never gets old. Most if not all their songs are anti-war and anti-facism. You picked a different lighting when listening to this track. Mood
@@Ivanich8no he didn't. You couldn't be further from the truth. His concerts are a diatribe on the cycle of fascism. Gilmour's wife is well out of line calling him one, when the Israeli government (the Zionists, whom the real Jews are dead against) are the bad guys, treating Palestinian children just as they were during WW2. Waters' own father died fighting against Fascism. Pull ya head in.
Great to see you have now 'discovered' Pink Floyd. 👀 Suggest you should play the whole WALL Album in corect order to get the full context of each track. You will be in another world after that experience !
I just watched a documentary on Tom Hank's Castaway. In the scene where he makes fire they taught him how to make a fire by rubbing materials etc. Then they filmed his first attempt until he got it lit. It took like 4 hours, if I remember right, but a really long time. So that reaction Hanks shows is absolutely legitimate excitement at FINALLY getting that fire lit after hours of trying.

I really recommend you "Raving and drooling" the live version of "Sheep"
I can't believe you haven't listened pink Floyd before!!!!
I don’t normally watch you at work but when I saw this I said when my break comes I’m watching this!! “Sorrow” from PULSE Is also amazing!! 😳🔥🎸🎼
Every song is a masterpiece. Closed eyes ...headphones on and your transported everywhere at once . Dark side of the moon is a masterpiece .
Their stuff never gets old. Most if not all their songs are anti-war and anti-facism. You picked a different lighting when listening to this track. Mood
True, but Roger ended up as a fascist
@@Ivanich8no he didn't.
You couldn't be further from the truth. His concerts are a diatribe on the cycle of fascism. Gilmour's wife is well out of line calling him one, when the Israeli government (the Zionists, whom the real Jews are dead against) are the bad guys, treating Palestinian children just as they were during WW2.
Waters' own father died fighting against Fascism.
Pull ya head in.
@Ivanich8 rubbish. He's always been adamantly anti-war and anti fascist. He just wants us to stop killing each other, regardless of where they live.
Great to see you have now 'discovered' Pink Floyd. 👀
Suggest you should play the whole WALL Album in corect order to get the full context of each track.
You will be in another world after that experience !
Love Pink Floyd. Check out Comfortably Numb
That’s my favorite of all Floyd
Delicate Sounds of Thunder is awesome
I just watched a documentary on Tom Hank's Castaway.
In the scene where he makes fire they taught him how to make a fire by rubbing materials etc. Then they filmed his first attempt until he got it lit.
It took like 4 hours, if I remember right, but a really long time. So that reaction Hanks shows is absolutely legitimate excitement at FINALLY getting that fire lit after hours of trying.
It was 1981 and my Mom gave me The Wall as a gift. I was 11 years old. It shaped my music palette for the rest of my life. (Sleeve art was mindblowing for my 11-year-old self too)
Do shine on you crazy diamond. Both parts. Absolute masterpiece. It’s off of “wish you were here” album. 👍
At Knebworth 1990 Paul McCartney didn't want to follow Pink Floyd, so they were the final act.
Great song! One of Pink Floyd’s many. Also, digging the new set up.
