9.5/10 .5 missing because you didn't change one thing... His run animation. All the hardcore Pokémon fans know that Lucario does a Naruto Run and we love it.
One idea I wanted Lucario to have is that his dbz up taunt would slowly damage him over time, raising his aura. While his new down taunt, calm mind, would slowly heal him. Making you have more control over your aura during downtime. Both taunts would be able to be held down as long as you hold the button, btw.
That'd be ironic for calm mind since it powers Pokemon up in game. Maybe it could lower your Aura thresholds by 5% every time you use it up to 6 times per stock, to be in line with Pokemon games letting you get up to +6. Would be a nice hidden mechanic to discover. I also like the idea of him damaging himself. I was thinking we could update extremespeed to be high jump kick or double edge to give recoil when he crashes into thing. Then maybe his DBZ aura could work kinda like Robin's down special without being a grab, slightly damaging opponents in it at higher aura levels and just creating a small wind box at low levels almost like an uncharged water gun but even smaller, and he could have drain punch worked into his kit for heals, or the come hither pose could bring him down an aura level for 5 seconds. So one blows opponents away until high aura does damage, one lowers his aura thresholds, and one temporarily lowers his aura 🤔
I like this, it adds a nice risk/reward with the up taunt, and playing on the safer side for down. It's also a nice strategic option depending on the situation.
Rad concept, but feels a bit iffy as a taunt tbh... I don't think it would be a good idea to add actual mechanics to taunts apart from cosmetic purposes, but as a base moveset mechanic it could be so cool :0
Nitpick, Lucario obtained Meteor Mash in Ultra Sun Ultra Moon (Gen 7) 8:44 Though it was trickier to get because the only father that can breed with Lucario to get Meteor Mash other than itself was Smeargle
Used to play a bit of Lucario back in Smash 4. Really happy to see him improved. Bone Rush in particular was a nice touch, adding a move that's become rather iconic in Lucario's non-mainline material.
Bone Rush is such an interesting move they've tied to Lucario but I would love to see it incorporated in his moveset. Overall, even just the simple Aura mechanics change really does a lot to help Lucario sound like a much more fun character.
Funny how he’s the only pokemon in the game that actually talks, and not just saying their name. In a way, this particular Lucario is based on the one in the anime film, Lucario and the mystery of mew. Pikachu and jigglepuff are the only others that have some bases from the anime. I’m not to cultured with most of the games, so I don’t know if I missed something where he does speak. But if I’m correct, it strikes me odd how he’s more direct from that then from his overall species from the games.
13:07 I was wondering when the addition of Bone Rush would appear. I'll be severely disappointed if Lucario doesn't have Bone Rush in his moveset in the next Smash game. Also, I'm glad that you kept the Aura mechanic in your remake moveset. I'm in the camp of "keep Aura, just tone it down" instead of "get rid of Aura entirely." Good job on your first Remake It for 2024, Delzethin!
As a Lucario main, I’m not gonna lie, I kinda like this remake. I like the idea of Aura being a less over baring aspect of the character makes it more technical then anything. And I really like the idea of a technical character rather than just another comeback mechanic reliant character. I’ve kinda wanted to see some changes made to Lucario and this is showing me things I didn’t know I wanted changed. Keep up the good work, and I look forward to other remakes in the future.
This was a pretty well done revamp for Lucario! I didn't even realize how much of an overhaul he needed until watching this video!! For a future remake it video, I think ones for Young Link and Toon Link would be neat, as they could use tools and attacks that are specifically from their respective LoZ games to distinguish them from regular Link.
I'd say Young Link could stay mostly the same as the traditional Link from previous smash games, but that Adult Link gets a massive overhaul to actually use more of his kit from BotW and TotK. Toon Link needs only a few changes to really make him distinct, like maybe bombchus and stronger yet slower sword attacks to reflect how he is using a powered up Master Sword, but is still too small and untrained to wield it easily. Maybe even alternating elements on the bow.
One suggestion for the Final Smash is that when he switches to two beams, instead of left and right controlling how close and far they are from each other, it still controls the angle he’s firing them at, with up and down controlling how large the gap between them are. I figure it’d allow for more precise control over the beams.
First FSG does a vid on Lucario, now Del is doing one in the same week. Truly feels like this week belongs to my favorite Pokemon ever. (And believe me, Smash is the reason.)
This was wonderful! Maining Lucario since Brawl (sub main in Ultimate), this moveset makes Lucario much more versatile at early percents and I’m here for it!! Great work as always, Del!
What a way to start the new year! Overall, I really like this redesign of Pokemon Gen 4's most popular Mon as it does a much better of working in their iconic Aura gimmick better without it being overly frustrating to fight as, and against like it was in the past! I also greatly appreciate that you added in Lucario's Shiny Form as one of their new alternate costumes as I've never understood why the Pokemon fighters in Smash STILL to this day have never gotten a real Shiny variant, or vaguely resembles them, so it's to actually see the real deal as an official alt for once! 👍 I think the only other thing I might would do is have Lucario say "Watch the power of Aura!" again instead of "Max Aura" (though the current one is still fine). Hopefully now whenever Smash 6/7 gets here, Lucario will be much closer to this! I've a feeling that whenever your X Design Tier List video comes out pretty soon, Lucario will probably around Low-Mid Tier/D, or Low Tier/E (MAYBE even Bottom Tier/F). Another solid video, Delzethin! I look forward to the next Remake It video! I like that Wario is the next candidate next to Zelda! Hope he'll be the next one as while I think his current playstyle has aged okay 16 years later, it's still pretty dated in some areas, so I can't wait to see one of video gaming's biggest anti-heroes get his RI focus video in the future! 😃 "WAH-HAH!" HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! 🎉
@@TheRealZXXZ isn't his final smash just samus's, but vertical instead of horizontal? Like my guy, it's already generic. I'm not arguing for it's change, I think it's better like this, especially when considering Mario, Dr Mario, Wii fit trainer, mii sword fighter and a few more already have this styled final smash, and even if you made it vertical still, pk star storm on ness and Lucas do the same thing still, it's just better to have it for diversity to stay like this, but generic cannot be the reasoning used not to do something with Lucario, he's literally mostly things done before.
@@RednekGamurz while a good reference, multiple projectile moves are overdone in smash, and Lucario is the only one with a vertical beam, so it stands to be more memorable if we keep it the beam, especially when it's functionally really good.
@@shadowsnake5133 Have you seen Lucario's burst attack in Pokken? It starts with Lucario charging forward, and if he connects with an opponent he then activates the attack where he launches the opponent into the air with a few aura spheres, then, as the opponent is airborne, Lucario charges up one final blast. Finally, right as the opponent hits the ground, Lucario fires the big aura blast, creating a huge blue explosion. If it was implemented in Smash, Lucario would likely Mega evolve first at the start, before charging forward, and from their, it'd sorta be a cinematic super, but it wouldn't go into a full cutscene, like Ult Fox's FS, or Sora's FS. Instead, I'd imagine it'd be more like Ike's, where other opponents could be caught up in the attack if they aren't careful, especially the explosion at the end of the move.
Definitely a lot of Pokkén DNA in this moveset, which I don’t mind. Though I’m not sure if TPC would allow for Smash to include colors referencing other Pokémon.
@@MinMin4theWinWin Is that who it was meant to be? IDK, I don't think it was. 'Course, there's no proof that it was meant to reference Skuntank, either.
I would like to see Aura Sphere changed to be more in line with its functionality in the games. Aura Sphere is an 80 base power move, so average damage output. But, it has the advantage of being a guaranteed hit. So, in Smash, how I see it working is: It loses its charging ability, but is a bit faster and has a mild homing property, similar to Samus' red missiles. At high or max aura, the projectile becomes faster and has improved tracking. If they ever add back custom moves, the old Aura Sphere could be rebranded as Focus Blast.
What if Lucario was more of a stance fighter and leaning more into his bone-themed attacks and/or steel type moves like Metal Claw? For the bone, I've seen him use a bone staff and dual bone batons. Could be an interesting pull, yes? There was even a mod of Lucario in Rivals of Aether that I liked that actually explored the stance fighter aspect of this character that gave him a bone staff for longer reaching attacks and different attack properties while keeping his staffless stance attacks relatively the same as Smash Ultimate's while getting rid of the damage buff completely. Another note: If Lucario were to keep some kind of damage buff, it could maybe be limited to one move? He has the capability to learn power up punch, afterall. Maybe it could work like Falcon Punch except that it deals more damage the higher percent he has while barely being effective in early percents or like Little Mac's smash attacks that give him armor as he's throwing out moves but, for Lucario, it could be a swords dance passive that activates past 100% that just gives him armor to certain attacks with either no added power boost or very little?
I feel like I would definitely have more fun with this version of lucario. My main issue with him before was the aura mechanic but having it changed along with new and improved moves would make me want to pick up the character again
As a Lucario player myself, I quite enjoy the concept, Bone Rush would be a great addition to their moveset. My only real criticism with the concept is the changes to aura, making it unchanged until 100% is a bit brutal.
I play a bit of Lucario! I'd definitely play him a bit more if he had touch-ups like these! Also, yeah Pokkén 2 would be AMAZING. But I wouldn't be upset if Arc System Works or French Bread got to try their hands at a Pokémon fighting game one day.
I still feel like that the Final Smash being an Install is the most enjoyable part of Lucarios history in smash and just the boost in power would have been interesting, also we need something like Sols Dragon Install somewhere just so we can absolute insanity happening for like 15 seconds, it should add like additional bursts of aura that shoot out or extend moves ranges.
I really appreciate that his down smash can be used to deliberately take a hit at high percentage without risking being launched. This could help tip his aura over the 150% level, and this wasn't present with the original counter move that didn't allow you to take damage you might actually WANT to take
"its finicky steering controls have been toned down" THANK GOODNESS. If this video was how Lucario played in Ultimate I'd legitimately main them so fast
Pretty cool! I like this take. Alternatively, Lucario could just get some rebalanced stats and toned down aura and I think that’d be fine as well. But I’d also be down for a bigger overhaul. Zelda would be interesting to see retooled, but I’m VERY interested in a Wario retool. And I’m someone who doesn’t dislike current Wario inherently.
Idk how balanced it would be, but I always imagined Bone Rush could work sort of like Marth's Dancing Blade, as several separate blows that you angle for different hitboxes
This rework is pretty interesting. I've mained Lucario for a while and his aura was always a strange mechanic in my opinion so I'd probably change it to be more inline with one of the species abilities, Steadfast. With it he'd gain a small increase to the damage and knockback of his next attack any time he goes into hit stun, or maybe a larger boost after a series of stuns, and this could stack up to three times. Visually it could be identical to his current Aura buff and it slots neatly into some of your proposed changes.
i like that instead replacing purple entirely you made it a better purple pallete based on cool pokemon i myself imagine that next to being the lighter purple the black parts of lucario would be white instead or could be white as main and the liht purple for the paws hands face etc. either way a top tier pallete for me
all that talk about Bone Rush specifically during the specials section almost makes me wish it wasn't a special slot but rather used in place of the various explosions of aura at the low and high aura stages granting sweeping but weaker disjoints to attacks that begin to fray and crackle at high aura before simply becoming uncontrolled explosions at max. in theory this would contribute both to the level headed temperament idea you went for here while also working whats otherwise a really iconic in spinoffs use of a pretty rare move, and also mean at low aura he leans way more into the traditional brawler charater style of footsies and combos, the extra reach provided by the bone rush staff making for a foe hard to take on any terms expect theirs. and from their the fraying control over their aura at high aura level shortens the overall range but makes these hitboxes less narrow and precise in favor of the edges of the staff fraying and lashing out as the aura flames were familiar with more powerfull and overall bigger but less reach max aura the staff itself decays entirely again more generally applicable range and less reach but also the same nasty raw power lucario is known for in smash. ultimately between this, the more recently zelda and wario videos i definately have to wonder what you'd do with Robin or Bayonetta even if i know those are probally not really characters that need the touch up. im also nowhere near competitive enough to know if they're actually bad or i just suck.
I've always thought in order for Aura to work, Lucario needed a way to damage and subsequently heal himself (which I'll admit would be a pain to balance), but that's certainly less of a concern if Aura scaled in stages, that way he'd have larger percent thresholds for his combos and confirms to work, something I've always disliked about his current playstyle. Bone Rush as a Side-B rekka sounds incredibly fun, and the addition of different martial arts styles in the normals is a really inspired choice. Great remake as always!
I really like this revamp, my only real complaint is I wish you’d have managed to work in a steel move somewhere in there. It really bugs me how the steel type just feels really plastered on to lucario and not many spin offs really take advantage of it to my knowledge. I don’t know how you’d handle that though.
As a Lucario player since he entered, I really enjoyed this. Aura changes and new/changed moves seemed great. I’ve always wanted him to use bone rush. Personally I’d miss having the command grab that force palm provided allowing you to call people out for staying in their shield for too long.
The thing about his old moveset is that at low percents he can combo well, but struggle to kill. Then with these new things, we could keep that, but still give him some kill potential.
I've always thought that Lucario's down b should be Focus Energy, where he just charges his aura manually like Cloud limit charge. He can cancel it but if he does he doesn't get any of the rewards and if he gets hit he loses all his current aura. In my opinion it makes aura a much more skilful mechanic that doesn't carry you but still allows you to tap into the super saiyan aspect of lucario. (I think it's kind of like shaggy's neutral b from multiversus)
Correct me if I’m wrong, but Lucario is one of the few characters that doesn’t have a meteor smash. Which of his moves would you incorporate that effect on?
Honestly just having Lucario be more like how he was in Brawl would be enough to make me satisfied. Not sure if Lucario is better in Brawl or Ultimate, but there’s just something about Brawl Lucario that made him feel so fun to use.
For the final smash I would have made it so that the left laser you have to control with the left stick, and the right laser you have to control with the right stick
For lucario's down there, I'd give him a spike hitbox since he doesn't have a single spike in the game already, And I'd make it so that you can use Force Palm in the air and then when you do that it spikes people into the blast zone
I was a Lucario main when I started playing back in Smash 4 and something that always bothered me was that he has absolutely no moves that make us of Bone Rush, probably his most iconic move other than Aura Sphere
5:26 would be much better if high was 50% and max 100% because even with the slight weight increase there's zero chance that you'll be able to survive that long to get max unless you're fighting a lvl 3 cpu. But otherwise great job! :)
10/10, wouldn’t complain about any of it and would love to play one of my favorite characters and have them, y’know, actually be fun. The one change I would make, more for personal preference over critique, is going for Detect over Close Combat. Still a masterful technique, it’d have Lucario strike a defensive stance (I’m imagining your classic “martial artist holding their hand in front to catch a blow” pose) that if it fails, it has severe endlag for a counter. However, if it’s hit by an attack of any kind (minus Final Smashes, of course), it’ll have Lucario quickly dash behind the opponent, cancel any and all of the move’s endlag, and allow the player to follow up with whatever they feel like, be it a strong Smash attack or a combo starter like down tilt. It could even improve at high and max aura by doing the “slow the opponent’s animation down” thing that counters do for increasing amounts of time, allowing for easier follow ups, although it wouldn’t have any of that kind of counter stun at low aura, so it’s susceptible to moves with low endlag that can hit Lucario before they can act, and makes finishing blows risky until Lucario itself is heavily damaged. Essentially, a counter that functions for like a perfect dodge that allows for you to choose your combo options, but can be limited if not used particularly well for a counter and isn’t able to do braindead recovery stops like before. Again, not a criticism, just a personal preference, but regardless I really like the set intervals for the aura rather than it scaling.
For Future reference: when using Footage from Scarlet/Violet you should definitely lock your camera for the more Dynamic version of the animations. Outside of that, _colour me interested...!_ ✧(・o・ )
What I never understood about lucario was why did they make him a floaty character?Hes made of steel, he should be a heavyweight and have super armor properties on some of his attacks.
Aura having no effect from 0-99% only to make a massive jump at 100% is way too extreme. People would go out of their way to try to kill Lucario right before 100% just to avoid that. I can get behind the idea of having tiers of aura rather than a gradual scale, but there needs to be something around 50%
Not really an issue if you look at Smash now. The entire point is KOing the opponent and the plan is to do so before they get away with any kind of boost, but we are human and can fail in stopping it. Aura already being comparable to current 65% isnt half bad either, more consistency with the combos for longer and still having the ability to take stocks. Lucario really needs that consistency for ease of use and to avoid becoming Smash Ult Inkling.
@@drewlmao a bit yeah, but when you think about it, most characters in Smash Ult can get to 50%+ on one interaction quite often. These changes make aura be treated as a comeback mechanic not too different from Terry and Kazuya. Opening up more options later into each stock. The weight increase also helps Lucario be able to stick around to see 100% and a bit more rarely tap into 150%
I just want Lucario’s up special be the custom special from Sm4sh “Extreme Speed attack” short range even at max aura, no steering and being able to attack at any point during the move not just at the end. Even in Ultimate Extreme Speed is just too difficult to control and even though it’s not meant to be used as an attack I feel it deserves to have more utility other than just a simple recovery.
I think aura shouldn't touch damage at all, or even less. While it can change play style a bit, i think speed would make more sense, as it'd allow for more aggressive approaches. Especially if we change moves to have different arcs in the air, like aura sphere now going diagonally down, delaying landing, and giving him an approch similar to akuma. Yes, I'm literally taking notes from how street fighter treats characters known for being more aggressive, specifically those with movesets like ryu, as Lucario takes notes from that in his design already, and leaning into it more would be fitting. And most players wouldn't feel cheesed if they weren't taking more damage from one move. With that note, up snash i also have issues with, as it feels like you ripped out mewtwo's up smash, and i feel that doesn't work, instead it could be an uppercut mirroring kens final smash pillar of fire, but like blue, and scaling with aura, with max hitting the top platform. It leaves the sides open, and while quick, is precise to land, a punishing anti air. It also works as a reliable kill option, being fast to come out, but stopping pretty fast, again, precision in trade for killing power. I'd also give extreme speed the same angles as octo slash, with the charge up being lucaeio using bone rush during it, making it a multi hit, and making it a good approach option, in trade for range, allowing him to convert to side b at max charge. I think flight doesn't fit extreme speed, and especially the inability to use it aggressively at higher percentages doesn't fit, and sephiroth held the solution right there, so yes, I'm stealing from him too, why not.
I love Lucario, but his inability to be hyper aggressive at max aura doesn't fit it's description or depictions in other media, and I hoped to drag slightly more of his punish game back, though not as hard as that was a problem.
I suggesting that bone rush would have the gimmick it has in Pokémon Unite that on the final hit would send out a final bone at the end sticking onto a surface and allowing him to teleport to it.
Although a pretty good revamp, I would love to see something that incorporates his Wolverine Claws and Dragon’s Breath into his arsenal. Perhaps with how Kazuya works, certain inputs can have Lucario perform different variants of moves that would include the two I said here and the others you had mentioned and we’ve seen him do from other sources of media.
Hi, I have an idea for Lucario, it's a new running animation, based on the wild area in Pokémon Sword and Shield (naruto run especially xD), I don't know if it's a good idea or not xD
Great rework! I had hoped that Ultimate would include Zeraora as an aura-less Lucario echo, but alas. Personally, I think the mid-aura threshold could be a bit lower than 100% (maybe 80-90?) so there was more opportunity to use it, but then again his increased weight might make being KO'd too early less of an issue?
I like the moveset change, but I believe that rather than being a comeback mechanic, Aura should've been something like Vergil's focus, where it slowly builds up the better you play.
Personally speaking, I don't like Pokemon, but Lucario was the first rep from the series that I didn't suck playing as that he felt set apart from the rest since Brawl. I had no issues with his moveset, especially since I didn't bother abusing his Aura gimmick, but I do like the idea of turning Aura from scale-based to tier-based. If he returns in the next Smash game, I hope he gets an adjustment like that.
Hm. Good. While it still feels like aura takes up a chunk of his normals, I like how he uses other moves in some of their places. This also pulls a good amount of moves from Pokken (a choice that a certain other Smash-Tuber should take notes on). Close Combat for a new Down Special and an entirely new playstyle are interesting choices, too. All that said, despite the shortened damage threshold, I still find the damaging aura mechanic unnecessary, if only for the notion that 150% is still MUCH too high. Also, splitting the beam in two halfway through his Final Smash is…odd to say the least. Overall, a much needed rework for a master Fighting type such as himself. [8.2/10]
If it were me, I would roll Lucario into a Pokemon Champion, with 2 other Pokemon, like Pokémon Trainer. Cynthia in Gen 4 uses a Lucario in her fights, and could be teamed up with Roserade and Garchomp for a light/medium/heavy trio that is very different from the squirtle/ivysaur/charizard team of PT. You could have another 3 in 1 character that is already partially completed without more bloat to the overall smash roster. They could all even retain the damage mechanic, with twists for what bonus higher % gives each of them.
Before watching: Honestly, by just taking off the negative multiplyer for the first 60-70% in exchange of nit having the down-stock aura, I'm good. With just that I'd say Lucario jumps from mid tier to lower high tier or upper mid tier. With just that I'd say is enough.
I like this concept a lot. Lucario is just too popular and is massively different from his Pokemon iteration. Think you could do one for Robin too? In the Fire Emblem community, both versions of Robin have ranked very high in popularity polls, they're considered by many to be the most popular Avatar character long even after Corrin, Alear, and Byleth (both male and female are closely ranked to each other whereas usually one is highly considered over the other), in their home game Awakening that both are extremely popular only being under Chrom and Lucina individually yet combining the two genders makes them the most popular characters in the game, is considered the most popular non-main character in the series, and has tons of techniques and animations not at all referenced in either Awakening or the spin-offs he has starred in like Warriors (where he/she's considered the best in that game), or Heroes the mobile game where they both have a ton of alternate costumes and weapon versions. The Male Robin even came in 1st place in this year's annual voted Choose Your Legends event. All I'm saying is that other than Ganondorf, no other Smash characters come off out of character more than Lucario and Robin and Robin does have the popularity in Fire Emblem and has other sources to warrant an overhaul in aesthetic. Warriors, Awakening, Codename S.T.E.A.M., Fates, Shadows of Valentia, and Heroes can all be considered for new inspiration.
All I’d want from Lucario in Smash is just removing the Aura gimmick and keeping it to the x1 multiplier and swapping Force Palm to down B and making Side B Pokkén’s Bone Rush with a faster combo focused up swing and a stronger downward strike after a short flurry and changing the Final Smash to his Synergy Burst attack from Pokkén
Yea there's alot of people who want Wario reworked to be more true to the Wario Land games, but he already has tons of references to those games in his moveset (dash attack, backthrow, neutral B etc.) Wario is fine and fun as is right now.
@@TSGC16 I heard about that and I agree with you. Sure, Wario could use some changes, but not as much as the other characters he covered, like Kirby and Ganondorf. Suppose we have to wait until Delzethin makes the Design Tier List for Brawl, as I can’t imagine Wario beating Zelda.

.5 missing because you didn't change one thing... His run animation. All the hardcore Pokémon fans know that Lucario does a Naruto Run and we love it.
Omg yes
That and he could run on all fours when he’s at max aura, don’t remember if he ever runs on all fours in the anime or games but it could work
Why wasn't that his running animation?
I looked it up and at the top coupd only find fan art or Lucario on all fours so I think he always stands upright in the anime. @@alexanderlycan4275
Lucario with aura that won’t lead to him getting star KOed when at full power? And isn’t as weak at full health? Heck yeah I’m taking it!
Interesting, but the healing one could be kinda busted
@@SlykieCould be pretty slow healing, or at least little healing over time.

Ok, that's kinda funny 😅
Used to play a bit of Lucario back in Smash 4. Really happy to see him improved.
Bone Rush in particular was a nice touch, adding a move that's become rather iconic in Lucario's non-mainline material.
Bone Rush is such an interesting move they've tied to Lucario but I would love to see it incorporated in his moveset. Overall, even just the simple Aura mechanics change really does a lot to help Lucario sound like a much more fun character.
Funny how he’s the only pokemon in the game that actually talks, and not just saying their name. 13:07 I was wondering when the addition of Bone Rush would appear. I'll be severely disappointed if Lucario doesn't have Bone Rush in his moveset in the next Smash game.
Also, I'm glad that you kept the Aura mechanic in your remake moveset. I'm in the camp of "keep Aura, just tone it down" instead of "get rid of Aura entirely."
Good job on your first Remake It for 2024, Delzethin!
Lucario is literally the "Aura Pokemon" so getting rid of an aura mechanic would be like getting rid of Pikachu's electricity or Greninja's ninjutsu

One suggestion for the Final Smash is that when he switches to two beams, instead of left and right controlling how close and far they are from each other, it still controls the angle he’s firing them at, with up and down controlling how large the gap between them are. I figure it’d allow for more precise control over the beams.
Change to bone rush, setting up for better combos by attacking from a further range was really smart
First FSG does a vid on Lucario, now Del is doing one in the same week. Truly feels like this week belongs to my favorite Pokemon ever. (And believe me, Smash is the reason.)
As a person who is a lucario main, I think everything in the video is a brilliant change.
As Lucario fan myself, I really love this move that you put into it. I really appreciate that. You’re a number one.
I would've just change Lucario's final smash to his Burst Attack from Pokken Tournament
Why would you replace something awesome for generic energy blasts?
From an undeappealing spinoff of all things.
@@TheRealZXXZ Pokken's cool, and so is his burst attack from that game. It's better than a beam super in a game already filled with beam supers.
One thing project M got right with Aura was that aura now gets stronger the more you hit someone making Lucario combo heavy and more consistent
Definitely a lot of Pokkén DNA in this moveset, which I don’t mind. Though I’m not sure if TPC would allow for Smash to include colors referencing other Pokémon.
It's already happened a few times! One of Greninja's alts is clearly based on Lickitung, and Incineroar has one very similar to Skuntank.
@@Delzethinare you talking about incineroars purple alt? That's not Skuntank lol that's Big the cat!
@@MinMin4theWinWin
Is that who it was meant to be? IDK, I don't think it was.
'Course, there's no proof that it was meant to reference Skuntank, either.
Charizard also has a costume in Smash 4 that highly resembles Zubat/Golbat
Ogerpon from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet to get into the next Smash Character Approaching video
Nice to have bone rush get longer as an unintentional reference to Goku’s Power Pole
Close Combat seems a bit closer to Revenge to me, but I really like the Bone Rush move.
Honestly, the changes to his weight and aura mechanic was all he really needed.
I'd like to see you remake Yoshi's moveset. Maybe something that brings in Poochy as an assist?
Honestly i think the best way to lucario at max aura is to have him mega evolve when he reach that point in damage
wooo~! a new Delze video. a great way to start the day!
As an avid Lucario player, this version sounds much more fun than the current version to me
This would be a welcome change to lucario
I feel like I would definitely have more fun with this version of lucario. My main issue with him before was the aura mechanic but having it changed along with new and improved moves would make me want to pick up the character again
As a Lucario player myself, I quite enjoy the concept, Bone Rush would be a great addition to their moveset. My only real criticism with the concept is the changes to aura, making it unchanged until 100% is a bit brutal.
id absolutely love to see wario! great video as always, you deserve way more recognition!
Unrelated bu I love that you used the Pokémon Unite render of Lucario for this video.
babe wake up, new delzethin video
As a Lucario main, this is an interesting remake moveset design for my boy. I approve the ideas and suggestions you made.
Good luck trying to convince Sakurai and his Smash team to change Lucario
I’m really enjoying these videos. I’m excited to see who you remake next.
Lucario not having Bone Rush in is moveset is absolute BS imo.
And you love Lucario, so that's saying a lot.
Tbf idk if it was a thing in the brawl days
@@brawlmasterjoelstudios No it wasn't, but they could've added it in smash for
Was JUST thinking about when the next upload would be 😂
How was your comment 22hrs ago
How have you put this comment 22hrs ago
Please think about adding Sargon from Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown game in your next patreon poll
Dastan is better. The Crown guy is all over ads and this game has already become annoying even though it is out yet.
I really appreciate that his down smash can be used to deliberately take a hit at high percentage without risking being launched. This could help tip his aura over the 150% level, and this wasn't present with the original counter move that didn't allow you to take damage you might actually WANT to take
"its finicky steering controls have been toned down"
THANK GOODNESS.
Visually it could be identical to his current Aura buff and it slots neatly into some of your proposed changes.
i like that instead replacing purple entirely you made it a better purple pallete based on cool pokemon
i myself imagine that next to being the lighter purple the black parts of lucario would be white instead or could be white as main and the liht purple for the paws hands face etc. either way a top tier pallete for me
all that talk about Bone Rush specifically during the specials section almost makes me wish it wasn't a special slot but rather used in place of the various explosions of aura at the low and high aura stages granting sweeping but weaker disjoints to attacks that begin to fray and crackle at high aura before simply becoming uncontrolled explosions at max. in theory this would contribute both to the level headed temperament idea you went for here while also working whats otherwise a really iconic in spinoffs use of a pretty rare move, and also mean at low aura he leans way more into the traditional brawler charater style of footsies and combos, the extra reach provided by the bone rush staff making for a foe hard to take on any terms expect theirs. and from their the fraying control over their aura at high aura level shortens the overall range but makes these hitboxes less narrow and precise in favor of the edges of the staff fraying and lashing out as the aura flames were familiar with more powerfull and overall bigger but less reach max aura the staff itself decays entirely again more generally applicable range and less reach but also the same nasty raw power lucario is known for in smash.
ultimately between this, the more recently zelda and wario videos i definately have to wonder what you'd do with Robin or Bayonetta even if i know those are probally not really characters that need the touch up. im also nowhere near competitive enough to know if they're actually bad or i just suck.
If this was how Lucario was in Smash ultimate I'd like playing him even more
wow that up b is INSANE (it’s been a minute since the video released and I haven’t watched it)
I really like this revamp, my only real complaint is I wish you’d have managed to work in a steel move somewhere in there.
It really bugs me how the steel type just feels really plastered on to lucario and not many spin offs really take advantage of it to my knowledge. I don’t know how you’d handle that though.
Meteor Mash is a Steel-type move
@@goGothitaLOL Oh right, I completely forgot. Never mind then.
As a Lucario player since he entered, I really enjoyed this. Aura changes and new/changed moves seemed great. I’ve always wanted him to use bone rush.
Personally I’d miss having the command grab that force palm provided allowing you to call people out for staying in their shield for too long.
I think I’ve would keep force palm as side special and change down special to use bone rush in some way
@@devin2254Actually Bone Rush makes sense for one of his Tilt attacks rather than Down Special. His down Special should be Counter instead.
Akira Howard from Astral Chain in the poll
Didn't think I was the only one who wanted this, too
Correct me if I’m wrong, but Lucario is one of the few characters that doesn’t have a meteor smash. Which of his moves would you incorporate that effect on?
Probably the down-smash
Honestly just having Lucario be more like how he was in Brawl would be enough to make me satisfied. Not sure if Lucario is better in Brawl or Ultimate, but there’s just something about Brawl Lucario that made him feel so fun to use.
I would’ve given him a Sir Aaron alt instead of the shiny, but overall great video
My sister likes to play as Lucario in any Smash game he's in, so maybe I can show this video to her when I get the chance
Really good revamp
@@alexgonzalez2050 I kinda forgot to factor in default Lucario being comparable to current 65%. I still think the jump at 100% sounds too jarring
Love this!!! I do like playing him sometimes in smash but this would probably make him one of my mains 😂
You play Lucario because you like making comebacks!
I’d be tempted to make the final smash the Giant Aura Sphere from the anime, to match Ash Greninja.
A bit of a missed opportunity to not use G-Max Aura Sphere as the new final smash.
This is awesome. I already liked how Lucario played but I hated the aura mechanic. This new version is one id definitely play and possibly main
I’d personally make the levels at 0, 50 and 100% 150% is way too high of percentage to lock max aura at.
Hm.
Before watching:
Honestly, by just taking off the negative multiplyer for the first 60-70% in exchange of nit having the down-stock aura, I'm good. With just that I'd say Lucario jumps from mid tier to lower high tier or upper mid tier. With just that I'd say is enough.
I think its fine. I do prefer Project M's take on Lucario the best though. It feels perfect and fits his character.
Yeah PM Lucario is a blast to play as. Love that he has a magic series and ex moves.
Nice. I would like to see a rework for Dedede and Meta Knight, just to complete the kirby trio and to see how they would fare
Lucario got one special treatment k 💀
He’s just a fan favorite so they put it in a lot of things
Wario or Zelda gets my vote for the next episode. Whichever works
Ah yes, the only anime character in Smash.
18:57 Wario? Why does he need a Remake? He’s pretty fun and is pretty good to boot.
Yea there's alot of people who want Wario reworked to be more true to the Wario Land games, but he already has tons of references to those games in his moveset (dash attack, backthrow, neutral B etc.)
Wario is fine and fun as is right now.
Great video. Would love a video on Porky from Mother 3
Good video!
I appreciate the side b being changed to his side smash. The two moves looked way similar before, so that was kinda boring.
