Small thing I would add to Greedy Grasp. The 'coins' he shakes out changes depending on the character. Zelda, the Links, and Ganon drop Rupees. Bayonetta drops Halos, Sonic drops Rings. So on
Cool idea! Maybe DK characters could drop bananas, Kirby characters could drop little stars, and Ice Climbers could maybe drop the fruits and vegetables that appear in their game!

One detail I'd add to his Waft here is the character about to get a whiff of Wario's gas having a shocked expression. Much like characters's reactions to Hero's Kamikaze.
Not gonna lie, when you first announced that Wario was going to get a remade moveset, I was worried you were going to just replace his Warioware stuff for Wario Land and get rid of his crude humor since everyone who hates his current moveset usually does just that (from what I have seen). Yet this remade moveset actually combines both of his series and fixes what’s wrong with him while doing new things I didn’t know was an option, like with his Neutral Special. Honestly, great work!
I like how this moveset understands that potty humor is ACTUALLY a core part of the moveset and actually keeps it instead of removing it like a coward.
I appreciate the attempt of making a good balance between Land and Ware representation. As much as I love the Wario Land games, WarioWare is just as important and valid in helping Wario forge his identity as Land was, so I don't think it should be abandoned outright. I will admit I do miss his down aerial, it's especially useful when racking combos, but I recognize that his ground pound is too iconic to ignore.
Definitely the best redesign I’ve seen for Wario. I love the idea of Wario’s moveset better embodying both of his series instead of just focusing on WarioWare like in smash or focusing just on Wario Land like most fan redesigns.
But wario land just makes the most sense. There he is actually a fighter. And honestly just better represents wario anyways. Current wario ware wario sucks. And it's absolutely horrendous that his normal skin in smash is his garbage wario ware costume. I would love for all wario ware to be removed.
@@Royblade90 wario ware is literally just filler trash to pad the systems library. Also has nothing to even do with wario. You could replace him and nothing would change. It's full of OC's anyways that aren't part of the Mario universe.
@@1trevor30 I guess that’s fair, but Wario Ware is Wario’s main franchise at this point, and I think it’s fair that it gets the most representation in Smash because it actually regularly gets games.
Gotta say, this is easily one of the best Wario reworks I've ever seen. Like, no joke, this balances his Wario Land and WarioWare incarnations very well! Nicely done like always!
Your rework on his Neutral B is just genius omg, and I love how you found a way to keep the digestive gimmick, while also making the whole thing far more true to the games in a lot of ways from this one single move alone! And jesus this even has the potential to be a very fun move to use if most opponents have their own currency and treasures instead of keeping it all to WL coins, though the sheer feel of shaking money off of people while racking percent is just perfect embodiment of GREED, and dayum it would be very satisfying to use over and over, and greed is totally something that should be very present in his moveset, that's the character's main driving force in both Wario Land and specially WarioWare, money is always in Wario's mind, and he's not thinking it twice if he's allowed to steal people's money like he does in Shake It! xd Heck, only reason why he's in the game dev business, is so he can get everyone's money And I really like you incorporated that head charge move from WL4, and to greatly improve his post-Brawl FSmash too! That move's often overlooked whenever people do Wario moveset reworks, despite being so important to Wario Land 4 and Shake It's escape sequences, as well as for some puzzles and whatnot, and it effectively being a bull charge in execution also serves as a bit of a reference to Bull Wario from the first WL, something the Shake King also makes reference in his fight in Shake It, and would be funny that for his warm up animation he's like doing bull horns with his fingers as he readies to lunge forward And you're the first person to convince me that it's fine to keep the bike as his Side B, and the shoulder bash as a dash attack, and I love you gave him all his mobility options from both series in one way or another, while also keeping a very good balance between Wario Land and WarioWare, he doing the Smooth Moves and Move It poses for attacks is great, your lil change to his poke also greatly adds WarioWare's obsession of nose picking microgames, which is also very relevant to Wario himself because thats a very common habit of his, so much there's even official art of that and should totally be one of his idle animations, let alone that way you show Wario isn't just a one trick pony regarding gross humor, which is also something Nintendo's been trying to do during the Switch era, less farts, more everything else Excellent work! If there's only one suggestion I would give, make the meter be the bomb timer thing from the WarioWare microgames, because the Waft is an explosion, so makes sense for the meter to be a warning of how close Wario is to blowing things up For the Up B Wario could also be using the jetpack from Get it Together so he can launch himself into the somersault, to also explain how he's able to do the normally ground only Corkscrew in the air, while also making it reminiscent to his special dash from Super Rush, but crazier I would also replace his victory animation where he farts to one where he burps, for the sake of even more gross variety outside just farts, and to serve as a reference to his Battle League winning animation where he eats a huge garlic and burps at the camera, to also reflect how little Wario cares about people's opinion regarding his love for garlic And I would give him an idle animation where he stretches and screams Mnyeeeeeeeh like in Wario World, which would also go along well with his normal stance, and would be very funny to see, especially when nothing's going on during the match, since he's kinda impatient and gets bored fast
@@jacobtidwell8869 YOU PICK! WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
With the release of Princess Peach Showtime, I would like to see Peach's moveset getting remake in a remake it video. Also, Wario needs to replace his current victory theme with the one based on the end level theme from the first Wario Land game.
I think Wario should have some moves paralleling Mario similar to k rool and dk. Like a headbutt for an up tilt that still has similar attributes, as wells as a jump punch for a up smash. Edit: I also think a good buff slash nerf would be increasing wario’s size to be taller than Mario but shorter than Luigi; giving him more range thanks to bigger and longer arms but it also makes Wario easier to hit in exchange.
A fantastic combo of both aspects of Wario's history. You did a great job here, I especially like that his Piledriver was included as a throw, something I've always wished they had done. The improvements to the Waft are also very welcomed!
I would've liked to see some more changes for variety's sake, but taken on the whole, this is pretty solid. Having said that, the new neutral B, down-throw, and the comic book styling for his Final Smash are BIG winners! WAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
Haven't watched yet, here's some pre-watching thoughts: Wario's in my top 3 favorite Mario characters, but his current moveset is _not_ it. That's not the Wario I grew up on, there's no Wario Piledriver for the down-throw, he doesn't violently shake people like in Wario Land: Shake It (would make an incredible pummel tbh), he just doesn't feel like the Wario _I_ know. Maybe I'm partial to the Land series, but in my opinion it has far more to pull from than the Ware series simply down to the fact you _actually_ play as _Wario_ for the game, instead of just a(n), admittedly fun, collection of minigames. I really hope we see more of his Land incarnation in this moveset! EDIT: I loved how the shake was tooled into a technical command-grab Nspecial, what really sold me was the garlic clove, nicely done! I thoroughly enjoyed this redesign and feel like _this_ should be the definitive Wario moveset.
shakes kid friendly weaponry out of snake (maybe a sneaky hard to see gun somewhere) shakes hearts out of kid Icarus (or those weird soul orb thingies or halo rings that he has on his arms) shakes 2 dimensional stylized household appliances out of G&W shakes.... jewelry out of zelda? shakes... the triforce out of ganon? shakes red purple and golden coins out of mario shakes floppy luigi mansion money and Boolean gold bars out of luigi. maybe some socks and supplementary overalls or something shakes chocolate bars out of little mac shakes super mario 64 stars and super mario sunshine shines out of bowser since he was keeping both of them for himself in both titles shakes wario land 4 emeralds, cds, silver copper coins, and bags of gold out of wario. still pixelated, but a neat reference. shakes kirby until he flops and folds like rubber, reference to the anime and some copy abilities shakes lucas until a English (and other languages) localized copy of mother 3 appears and phases its way out of the screen and onto your lap. oh also the 64 beta of mother 3 is there too
I'm a big Wario Land guy and I'd be pretty happy with this overhaul. I particularly like how the new throws reference Wario World and the Neutral Special, which fits Wario's character and plays into the Waft in an inspired way. Also, I choose to think of the new Back Air as a reference to the infamous Dance segment from Smooth Moves.
Wario has potential for a cargo carry similar to Donkey Kong's forward throw, able to walk around and definitely able to do a pile driver with a moderate AOE. Not sure why people seem to overlook that, despite Wario world gameplay front and center xD
I would really want future Smash games to make Wario’s final smash more like how it was in Brawl and 4 again. Plus I would love to see Waluigi and certain WarioWare characters as fighters
Wow finally, a Smash Bros. Wario rework that isn't leaving everything one side to Wario Land and throwing out his cool specials for a cheap parody of Mario's moveset. Refreshing pitch. 👍
Wario ware stuff sucks. Wario land should only be his moveset. There's a reason almost everyone puts wario land as his moveset. Why Nintendo doesn't listen to popular fan demand I'll never understand but I love wario but will never enjoy him in smash as smash wario is NOTHING like actual wario.
@@1trevor30 No matter how you feel about the direction of Wario, purposefully leaving out half of his overall representation is out of touch and just a poor decision. Especially since Wario’s intro to Smash is steeped in his Warioware persona (which characterized the guy more than any of the platformers did). Repeating the above comment, not making him the “evil Mario” in mind and body is a good idea that makes him stand out and more unique.
@@1trevor30Wario feels very in character in Smash. He's a powerful, wacky, greedy, repugnant goofball and what he does in Smash and this remade moveset reflects that. Plus Wario Ware's gotta be there somewhere. It's not like this side series Wario dips his toes into in between Wario Land. It's been the main Wario content for years and even has 2 games on the Switch compared to Wario Land's 0. You are allowed to not like it but we can't just pretend that Ware isn't important to Wario as a whole.
@@gallantblade1825 wario land already makes him the not evil Mario. Has completely different abilities. He literally does his own thing and he's sorta a protagonist in it. Plus I mean wario was always meant to be the opposite of Mario. So what's wrong with that element of his identity? It's what he was designed for.
@@1trevor30 But that element of his identity is not his sole identity. At least, not anymore. And that’s what Warioware represents. Wario Land helped with that change of identity, sure, but it’s still a 2D platformer (and 3D that one time) with a Mario-sounding title and those same gaudy overalls. Warioware is just as important, if not moreso, to Wario than the platformers. To his identity in Smash, and his identity as a character people love for more than just the guy who’s there for every spin-off game who happens to look like Mario but evil. If so, I call that a wasted character slot in Smash.
Would keep the green outfit or modify it so he could be a knockoff of Luigi for the Mario Bros stage. But would love for the white Smash Bros Brawl costume to return to reference the classic games too. Would have gone full Wario World with Wario's combo though and have him finish the punch combo with a strong punch. I would keep the poke though, it's fun for both fighting and video recording with how he sounds while making the finger poke. Down air should be called Super Butt Stomp, but love that reference to Wario Land. I would keep the old up air though since it feels very Wario-like already. I also rather have the bicep flex be either the side taunt or a new victory animation, the old up taunt with Wario laughing was very fun to do to laugh at the enemies you beat up or give a hard time. Also, please keep eating food items filling Wario's new gas meter, would combo very nicely with the garlic he can eat now too. I think that's all I gotta say, but love your ideas as well. Kinda wish Wario-Man could ride the Wario Bike again as one of the finishing moves though, actually impressing his "friends" while performing a trick on his bike and making the W with his fingers too. Hoping Wario Land can get some more rep someday in the future. EDIT: One more thing, to add another ref to Wario World, please have anyone under Wario or next to him while performing Piledriver also take damage, though the main target takes the most damage too.
I really like this. I understood that Wario wasn't liked by some because of his lack of Wario Land inspiration and crudeness but I was fine with it because I never actually played Wario Land so I didn't really have an attachment to it. This rework shows Wario still being his goofy self while fitting in some stuff reminiscent to his games some more. I also appreciated how you kept Waft. I never got why people disliked Wario being repugnant. It's Wario. He picks his nose, scratches his butt, probably doesn't shower as much as he needs to and his breath wreaks of garlic. Nuclear farts are right up his alley and it should be shown off in a big way. Plus fart jokes are only funny when Wario does them.
i think people don't like it because wario was never really portrayed that way until wario world and smash brawl, *specifically here in the west.* i only recently learned it's always been a core part of his japanese identity
I like most of what you did here, but there's a couple of things I'd change. I'd make Wario's pummel the shaking animation from Shake It and keep Chomp the way it is. I like the down air, but I'll give it a spike hitbox at the start, like every other stall and fall down air. I wouldn't change down tilt, either. Never had any problems with the poke for a down tilt. Waft already had its startup frames nerfed. Nerfing them even further doesn't seem like the way to go, especially since waft combos and set ups are already frame tight and inconsistent. Half waft is frame 8 and full waft is frame 12. By nerfing their startup again, half waft would be frame 11 and full waft would be frame 15. Making their hitboxes bigger doesn't really seem like a good trade off. So, what I'd do is keep their current start up frames (8 and 12) and just keep the knockback nerfs (if that's what it takes for people to finally stop complaining about it.) That's about it off the top of my head. You did a good job overall.
This is generally a good rework, though I feel like his command grab could be consolidated into his regular grab so as to make room for another special because it seems pretty unnecessary this way. Instead of trying to jam his finger up the opponents' nose his pummel could be shaking them, and up throw could be made into his command grab where he hoists them up with one arm and can run around while holding the opponent, then toss them left, right, or at any upwards angle between those like how his throw works in Shake It.
Posting this again since I think trying to post that link to the article mentioned below made the comment get deleted by UA-cam: I think you did a good job with Wario's updated moveset here. The actual Smash Bros focuses too much on his gross out side and makes him out to be a walking fart joke, which is a shame to see since he's much more than that. It's great you gave emphasis to his greedy side, strength side, and his macho side. I think this was an excellent improvement over his original moveset. The Wario Franchise Appreciation account has an interesting debunk of sorts to Source Gaming's article and gives more context about his portrayals that I also think is worth reading too.
This is pretty good. I love the reworked Neutral and Up specials; Wario always felt like he needed more "grappler" in his moveset, and the Neutral Special helps account for that, along with his new throws which I love (Wario World rep is always welcome in my book). The other move changes like Down Tilt, Down Smash (Earthshake Punch is such a no-brainer), and Back-air are welcome too. I'd prefer Shoulder Bash as the Side Special opposed to the Bike, but your reasoning for it staying is solid. Not a fan of Waft returning, though. I understand why it's here and I can appreciate the changes made to it, but the move as a concept isn't my cup of tea. As for the Final Smash... none of these bells and whistles will patch up how Wario-Man was when he functioned as a transformation Final Smash. Flying across the screen at Mach 2 with the bike and having insane frame data and properties on his normals will 100% always be funnier than a pre-scripted cutscene Final Smash, even if there are random elements to it now. Overall, this rework is good! I wouldn't mind if this was how he played in the next game. I still think it could be pushed further, but for what you tried to accomplish, it's serviceable. I'm glad that you avoided direct transformations and prop summoning, he doesn't need those and too many of those types of moves can lead to a disconnected-feeling moveset.
I love this rework! Strikes a nice balance between the Wario Land and Warioware games and gives some much needed updates to Wario, specifically giving him a better Down Smash and Wario Waft having a meter.
Suggestion: Remake Mario. 1. If someone made a fangame on your movesets, they could have Mario and Luigi vs Wario and Waluigi. 2. Mario should be the one who's easy to pick up, but should also been Mario. 3. Ma boi frown too much. :(
Great remake! I would just swap the side-smash and dash attack... Wario's Shoulder Charge is his most iconic move in my book, and deserves the spot of most-used Smash Attack. The animation of charging up of a Shoulder Charge has so much potential, too. Aiming it upward could give a little hop at the start
I'm genuinely surprised they never thought to include Captain Syrup in the WarioWare games. Sure she's basically set for life now that she has the bottomless coin sack, but she could start up a rival gaming studio to compete with WarioWare just to mess with Wario
The only way I can see her antagonizing Wario again, is if something happens to the bottomless coin sack, and she pulls a stunt like the discovery of the golden pyramid in order convince Wario to aide her in retrieving it or find a new fortune without he knowing he's doing so, for her to steal the loot at some point in the adventure Because for as long as she has that thing by her side, there's no reason to do any treasure hunting, let alone be near Wario, and Wario's probably learned his lesson, and never trusting Syrup or anyone looking for help ever again after the Shake It fiasco That said, its still very possible for that very thing to happen, because Animal Crossing New Horizons hinted that Captain Syrup was spotted sailing, she either doing it for hobby, her greed has no end, or something could've actually happened to the coin sack, or just give Wario a new place to raid, he needs no rival to go on a new adventure, like in Wario Land 4 where at best there was that professor guy u find at secret areas, but he wasn't an opposing force like Syrup or Cannoli, heck, gameplay-wise he was just a throwable item xd
I'd like to propose a neat Final Smash idea: Wario Deluxe. Takes from WarioWare Gold and essentially forces his opponents to play a few unfair micro games like the stage but it won't tell you how they work.
THIS IS MY FAVORITE WARIO REVAMP!! It kept the spirit of Wario from Smash, while incorporating a bunch of ideas and themes from his series, and even adds things I didn't even think about! Like, that Neutral Special is so genius. It has his strength, greed, and crudeness all in one, and it STILL references something while working with the rest of the moveset. And you didn't even have to completely get rid of the idea of Chomp just to do it! You did an incredible job on this one. Genuinely love it!
it'd be nice to see WayFoward, Good Feel (creators of Shake it), and the devs of pizza tower and antonblast team up to make a wario land game in the future
I can't help but feel like, when making him for Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Sakurai was looking at Wario at a surface-level view, specifically from his WarioWare appearances, hence why he had the jerky frames and motions, in order to mimic how characters moved in the WarioWare games. He didn't completely ignore the Wario Land games, since his signature shoulder bash was his side smash, and him being the main villain in Super Mario Land 2 is the only reason I can thing of that he'd make Wairo one of the villains in Subspace Emissary (that, and there aren't that many playable villains in Super Smash Bros. Brawl). And because Sakurai greatly dislikes changing up a character's moveset too much between games, we're basically stuck with a Wario who barely acts like we've come to expect, either from Wario Land or even WarioWare to an extent. Oh, and I REALLY hate how Smash Bros. cemented the idea that Wario is one big fart joke; I literally saw someone play Wario Land 4 for the first time and was surprised by it since they thought Wario was "just that weird Mario character who farts". It's a massive disservice to his character, and since Wario is my favorite video game character, I can't help but disappointed with how Sakurai has handled him in the Smash Bros. series (though I suppose I'm slightly better off than Sonic fans, yeesh).
Not picking a variety of moves from Wario Land, Wario World and even Master of Disguise for his moveset feels more criminal than Wario himself. I even think they had something going with Bike and the Waft, but both weren't improvised enough.
Jigglypuff absolutely, considering the next Pokémon game is a Legends game that takes place in Kalos where the fairy type was introduced, this remake is vital.
WAH-HAH! This is by far my favorite Remake It video yet, and I'm not just saying that due to me being such a huge fan of one of video gaming's most beloved anti-heroes, maybe even THE most beloved, you really did think on how to combine the best aspects of both of Wario's iconic franchises without leaning too hard on one, or the other, while also maintaining the players that enjoyed playing as him, both fans, and non-fans, and still being balanced for a platform fighter! 👍 I do have a few things to point out though. I would have Wario enter the stage on his Wario Bike as his entrance animation like before, but now it explodes as he comes to a stop, and tosses him upward then downward buried into the ground head first while he quickly pulls himself out, and shakes it off representing his stage entrance from Wario World. I would also give Wario a new idle animation in replacement for his current crossed-arms, clenched fists one, which is still perfectly fine, but I think having him now either flick, or pull his mustache, or even picking his nose would be a far better substitute! I would much rather have had his third hit combo finisher be the head-butt attack he also does in World (when he's fighting enemies, that is) instead of the kick finisher from Super Mario 64 DS since the head-butt finisher would be more unique. MAYBE have his Shoulder Tackle be his Neutral Special since it is his signature move, and have his Dash Headbutt from Wario Land 4 as his Dash Attack instead, but the Shoulder Tackle still fits perfectly as his Dash Attack especially after For stupidly removed it for no reason! Perhaps if you hold B, Wario will perform his Greedy Grasp instead of his Shoulder Tackle with him maybe hitting his caught opponent/item with his shoulder if you press B again afterwards as well as holding it down to shake them. I also would've had his Forward Smash maybe thrust his large gut outwards instead. I think we can go even further with his new finger pick Pummel by having him attempt to force his finger up his grabbed opponent's nose in a specific pattern too such as right, then left, and finally taking 2 fingers shoved up both nostrils at once, as well as having the newly retooled nose pick being one of the strongest Pummels in the game now along with being one of the slowest ones, which would definitely make for an even more ridiculous, and hysterical scenario, as well as making the new Pummel even more fun, and unique! I think having his 3-Finger Salute Appeal slowed down would be nice since Appeals can now be cancelled at any time! Another new Appeal we can add is by having Wario shake his fist in anger, and determination, and saying "I'm-a number-1!" like he does every time he enters a boss arena in World. It'd also be cool to have Waluigi high-5 Wario as he's Wario-Man right before he takes down his foe(s) (except if Waluigi finally becomes playable in Smash for real, and he gets caught in the act, it'll start off the same like in the retooled video)! Even giving Wario a new victory fanfare based on the stage clear music from Wario Land 2 every time he reaches the end of a level/beats a normal boss (maybe even adding in elements from the stage clear fanfare from the original Made In Wario game too) in replacement of the current one would be far more appropriate! I definitely LOVED however that you included his Earthshake Punch from Shake as it really should've been added in ever since For, and hopefully it will next Smash! And it's also great to see ALL of his World throws be included instead of just 1! Not to mention even representing his Posture Stone poses from the recent Made In Wario title, Super Dancing, which is really cool! Maybe you could even reference a handful of the Etiquette Bar poses from the original Dancing game too! And I'm so happy that you added a meter to indicate how much gas Wario currently has before he releases the Wario Fart as I've never understood why they STILL haven't included one to this day! Outside of having room for color swaps representing Waluigi, and Mona, this video turned out an absolute masterpiece, and does a perfect job balancing the best of Wario's 2 well-beloved spin-off series, and hopefully in the next Smash game Wario will be more closer to how he's always been in his games (even if in Special he's the best he's ever been)! Let's also hope that a new Wario Land, and maybe a follow-up to Wario World, will finally happen for real (can't believe it's been over 15 years since Shake first came out), and that elements from both Wario Land, and Made In Wario can exist simultaneously like Waluigi finally appearing in a Wario title (besides that painting cameo from scanning a Waluigi amiibo in Made In Wario Gorgeous), Captain Syrup in a Made In Wario game as the series main antagonist like Mario's Bowser, and Donkey Kong's King K.Rool (can Yoshi please get his own original villain that's not an infant version of his best friend's nemesis, as well as Mario elements such as enemies, bosses, Pipes, etc. removed in future Yoshi titles while keeping the original ones, alongside new ones, please, Nintendo), the Made In Wario characters appearing in any non-MIW game particularly playable, giving Waluigi a MIW-style biker to match Wario's alongside additional features, Captain Syrup a MIW-style pirate uniform, etc.! 🙏 Here's hoping that both Wario's new Moveset rework, and Waluigi finally end up becoming officially playable in Smash next game (as well as putting the latter in the Wario universe via the "W" symbol)! It really is a shame though that Western countries throughout the 90s neglected Wario's love of toilet humor, and bodily functions until the 00s, thus, having many longtime fans, including myself, to believe that Wario's disgusting, slobby behavior was simply made up for Smash to fill out his kit like Luigi's abilities were, and assumed Wario is just a filthy, gross pig these days, when he always has been, and as somebody who grew up with both series, I really wish that localizers would've just left ALL of his personality in tact from the get-go including his nasty side, that way fans wouldn't have been so divided (and I also wish localizers would stop interfering when bringing stuff overseas to another country, and just translate them as accurate as feasibly possible, while leaving the consumers to make their final judgement, just saying). Fans will absolutely pick WAAAAAAAARIO now! Another solid video, Delzethin! 👌 And what a way to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day too! 😆 HAPPY SAINT PATRICK'S DAY!!! I really look forward to the next RI video whether that'd be Zelda, or Purin (be really interested to see you'll do with the latter's new Fairy Type since Smash has NEVER bothered doing anything with it), and other future videos too! Keep up the awesome work! 👏
Great rework as usual. Wario's crude, greedy, and masculine characteristics are all balanced out pretty well, which is an approach that most fans do not seem to take. Though I will have to disagree on mostly abandoning the "Mario but weird" characteristic of some of his current moves, as being Mario but weird is intrinsic to the character's inception. But again, I do appreciate your approach being more expansive of Wario's character traits. Zelda and Jigglypuff reworks should be interesting. If I were to throw my hat in the ring, I would like to see your take on Ridley. I think there's something about his current design that feels incomplete and hard to quantify. Also considering you never did a Ridley video pre-Ultimate, it would be very interesting to see.
Something I find interesting is that this is the second character whose design philosophy is more or less 'Mario but weirder'. I know it's hardly limited to the Mario & Friends cast, but from Brawl onward it feels like there's quite a few characters where I get the sense that the developers ended up phoning it in with regards to how they play, either because of time constraints or changing a few things from an existing character and deciding it was 'good enough'.
Yeah, something stinks about Wario's current moves in Smash, and it's NOT the waft. The apparent lack of Wario Land representation is jarring. I mean, he came from that series!
@@erickmaverick3128 I think it's because Wario has so many games, that Sakurai can't cram them all into one moveset. In other words there's not enough room for both.
I think something to be added to warios bike move could be that when using warios wario land outfit the bike could be changed to his purple low rider, seen in the wario land games
7:16 Funnily, theres a Wario Mugen character who's FSmash is the Dash Headbutt. Difference being, is that in Mugen it has hyper armor, so it cancels and clashes againsts other attacks while also giving good mobility.
I was hoping for a pummel where he just shakes his opponent, but it's like you read my mind and introduced his new Neutral Special. 19:04 Ah, there we are! I also like that you kept the Waft. I've personally never minded it much, it fits Wario's character. What I would've done, however, is make it his Up-Special and give it more height even uncharged. Though I do not know if Wario relying on the Waft to recover changes its entire dynamic as a "ticking time bomb"-move too much. I've personally always thought that the Shoulder Bash should be more than just a dash attack. To me, it's as essential to Wario as jumping is to Mario, running is to Sonic, and inhaling and copying is to Kirby (it completly baffles me how Smash 4 just left it out entirely). But then what would it be? A Neutral Special? Because I wouldn't want to replace the bike either. And then what property makes it 'special'? Should you be able to charge it? Bounce back from enemies or charge through them depending on if you hold the button when hitting them? This is the thing that has been on my mind the most whenever I thought about how I would change up Wario's moveset, and I've never quite found a satisfying answer for it. Being definitely more inclined towards the Wario Land-side of Wario rather than the Wario Ware-side myself, I do actually agree on keeping the transformations out of the moveset. Especially since even in Wario Land, not every game features them. Despite being essential to the gameplay of the games that have them, I wouldn't say that they scream WARIO enough to be part of his moveset.
This is an aesthetic, but for Greedy Grasp, whoever Wario is holding thier games currency will shake out of them, for those without currency its just coins. So it goes like this... Mario, Donkey Fire Emblem, Dragon Quest, Castlevainia, Splatoon, and Xenoblade characters get gold coins shaken out of them with their series indicator (or lack there of) on them Zelda characters get rupees shaken out of them Sora gets Munny shaken out of him Bayonetta and Sonic get ring/halos shaken out of them Final Fantasy get gil shaken out of them Pokemon characters get the pokedollar symbol shaken out of them If you ever do Fox and make him similar to adventure then scrabs get shaken out of Fox exclusively Kirby characters get star coins shaken out of them Emeralds and Diamonds out of Steve Kid Icarus characters get hearts shaken out of them Olimar gets fleesed the animal cross characters get bells shaken out of them
The new moves such as Bouncy Head Up Smash, Rolling Down Tilt and the Shakedown Neutral B Grab are all great suggestions. Especially the new Waft Meter, it’s strange how they added UI elements for Villager, Little Mac, Robin and Cloud for example, but not characters like Olimar’s Order of Pikmin he will pluck next or R.O.B’s Fuel Gauge. Would love to see how you would make Ashley work in Smash next.
I see Patreon poll, and... I was somehow hoping I would see the Pokémon that is known for using fairy moves in the source material, and yet no fairy moves to be seen in Smash Bros. ...and I actually see Jigglypuff. Here's to hoping Puff beats Zelda #dorestjustice
If I were to change anything about what you did... -Change up the alternate costumes (Keeping the plumber costumes intact (Default, Red, Blue, Green), while switching up the biker costumes to give Wario the ones he used to have in Brawl (Default, Red, Black, Blue).). -Leaving a few moves and animations intact (Up tilt, down tilt, neutral aerial, up throw, and down throw.). -Alter Wario's jab to give him his old forward tilt from Brawl and revert it to 2 hits. -Have Wario use his (altered) up smash animation from Brawl for the new up smash. -Have Wario toss the opponent with one hand for the forward throw, like how he throws in Wario Land 4. -I'd personally keep Corkscrew as it is, though with a few alterations. Otherwise, I love this rework. Helps strike a balance between the Wario Land and WarioWare games. :> (BTW do you miss playing as Wario-Man in Brawl and Smash 4?)
This video is wonderful and a great video thank you for remaking Wario's move set I enjoy this video and you are wonderful, great, amazing,Awesome, and fantastic and I also the way that you remake Lucario's move set and all the other Character's move set
I see a lot of people say Wario has one of the worst movesets in Smash in terms of representation, so I’m glad you came to the same conclusion as me that it’s already nearly perfect in that regard. Like yeah you could throw in a few more direct references and change some animations, but the core gameplay fits him too well to change. I’m not sure why so many people think otherwise!
A fun/useful suggestion I have fore the videos is maybe when reviewing stats or even move changes you can have certain symbols to signify the change. An example being his initial dash nerf, maybe aside it you could include a red down arrow ⬇ and for his buffs like his walk speed you can include a green up arrow⬆. Another suggestion would be to show maybe an Icon/symbol/text to talk about when reviewing his new moves and possibly showing his old move first then showing the new move to make it easier for newer viewers who aren't as knowledged on his moves. Just wanted to try and give some of my feedback hope this helps :D!
Another character that could use a remake it is Cloud, not only to include more things about the Remake/Rebirth games but also in my opinion could use some materia moves given how important it is both lore and gameplay wise
Tbh I really really like this rework incorporates all three of Wario's main movement options he has in both Wario Land and WarioWare, his shoulder bash, his head charge, and his bike, which while I'm still not fond it can be destroyed because that never happens in the games, the bike's definitely got to be there somewhere because Wario rides it all the time in WarioWare, and he also had an affinity to vehicles in Wario Land too, and it does give Wario a very unique special and excellent recovery option that doubles as a makeshift projectile as bonus, and it also gives the feel of when you're head charging back and forth in Wario Land, albeit more balanced xd
12:01 Container items, such as barrels and crates will shoot out a stream of items! In Coin Battle modes, Wario also heals when picking up money! This move also shakes out more money that it otherwise would, letting you rinse your opponents pockets. Of course Wario should have an advantage in the gamemode soley focused around collecting dosh! It's _Wario!_
Small thing I would add to Greedy Grasp. The 'coins' he shakes out changes depending on the character. Zelda, the Links, and Ganon drop Rupees. Bayonetta drops Halos, Sonic drops Rings. So on
Excellent Suggestion! It would be a great attention to detail but a nightmare for the developers and programmers lol.
Cool idea! Maybe DK characters could drop bananas, Kirby characters could drop little stars, and Ice Climbers could maybe drop the fruits and vegetables that appear in their game!
@@SillyGuy14OldAccount like if somehow Tiny made it into the same Smash Bros game that featured this remade Wario.

Well a lot of the "new" things that this moveset has are either inspired or directly taken from Smash fan games like Project M SSF2 and SSBC.
For the Remake It episode of March 2024, it is...
WAAAAAAAAARIO TIIIIME!

March 2024? More like Warch 2024 hehehe! Wario was so lucky, he got his episode premiered on St. Patrick’s Day☘️💚
Definitely the best redesign I’ve seen for Wario.
@@1trevor30Removing All Warioware is too absurd! But yeah, Wario should use mores in his land series.
@@1trevor30you personally not liking something isn't a reason it shouldn't be represented in smash, lol
And jesus this even has the potential to be a very fun move to use if most opponents have their own currency and treasures instead of keeping it all to WL coins, though the sheer feel of shaking money off of people while racking percent is just perfect embodiment of GREED, and dayum it would be very satisfying to use over and over, and greed is totally something that should be very present in his moveset, that's the character's main driving force in both Wario Land and specially WarioWare, money is always in Wario's mind, and he's not thinking it twice if he's allowed to steal people's money like he does in Shake It! xd Heck, only reason why he's in the game dev business, is so he can get everyone's money
And I really like you incorporated that head charge move from WL4, and to greatly improve his post-Brawl FSmash too! That move's often overlooked whenever people do Wario moveset reworks, despite being so important to Wario Land 4 and Shake It's escape sequences, as well as for some puzzles and whatnot, and it effectively being a bull charge in execution also serves as a bit of a reference to Bull Wario from the first WL, something the Shake King also makes reference in his fight in Shake It, and would be funny that for his warm up animation he's like doing bull horns with his fingers as he readies to lunge forward
And you're the first person to convince me that it's fine to keep the bike as his Side B, and the shoulder bash as a dash attack, and I love you gave him all his mobility options from both series in one way or another, while also keeping a very good balance between Wario Land and WarioWare, he doing the Smooth Moves and Move It poses for attacks is great, your lil change to his poke also greatly adds WarioWare's obsession of nose picking microgames, which is also very relevant to Wario himself because thats a very common habit of his, so much there's even official art of that and should totally be one of his idle animations, let alone that way you show Wario isn't just a one trick pony regarding gross humor, which is also something Nintendo's been trying to do during the Switch era, less farts, more everything else
Excellent work!
If there's only one suggestion I would give, make the meter be the bomb timer thing from the WarioWare microgames, because the Waft is an explosion, so makes sense for the meter to be a warning of how close Wario is to blowing things up
For the Up B Wario could also be using the jetpack from Get it Together so he can launch himself into the somersault, to also explain how he's able to do the normally ground only Corkscrew in the air, while also making it reminiscent to his special dash from Super Rush, but crazier
I would also replace his victory animation where he farts to one where he burps, for the sake of even more gross variety outside just farts, and to serve as a reference to his Battle League winning animation where he eats a huge garlic and burps at the camera, to also reflect how little Wario cares about people's opinion regarding his love for garlic
And I would give him an idle animation where he stretches and screams Mnyeeeeeeeh like in Wario World, which would also go along well with his normal stance, and would be very funny to see, especially when nothing's going on during the match, since he's kinda impatient and gets bored fast
I'm happy you decided to emphasize Wario's sex appeal with this moveset remake

With the release of Princess Peach Showtime, I would like to see Peach's moveset getting remake in a remake it video. Also, Wario needs to replace his current victory theme with the one based on the end level theme from the first Wario Land game.
I think Wario should have some moves paralleling Mario similar to k rool and dk. Like a headbutt for an up tilt that still has similar attributes, as wells as a jump punch for a up smash.
Edit: I also think a good buff slash nerf would be increasing wario’s size to be taller than Mario but shorter than Luigi; giving him more range thanks to bigger and longer arms but it also makes Wario easier to hit in exchange.
i really like your voice, it’s like a cross between Norm MacDonald and Sam from Sam & Max
thats.. surprisingly accurate
Haven't watched yet, here's some pre-watching thoughts:
Wario's in my top 3 favorite Mario characters, but his current moveset is _not_ it.
I think it could be a fun visual detail for the Neutral B, that if he uses it on Link(s) then Rupees fly out instead
Perhaps he shakes the rings out of Sonic too
shakes kid friendly weaponry out of snake (maybe a sneaky hard to see gun somewhere)
shakes hearts out of kid Icarus (or those weird soul orb thingies or halo rings that he has on his arms)
shakes 2 dimensional stylized household appliances out of G&W
shakes.... jewelry out of zelda?
shakes... the triforce out of ganon?
shakes red purple and golden coins out of mario
shakes floppy luigi mansion money and Boolean gold bars out of luigi. maybe some socks and supplementary overalls or something
shakes chocolate bars out of little mac
shakes super mario 64 stars and super mario sunshine shines out of bowser since he was keeping both of them for himself in both titles
shakes wario land 4 emeralds, cds, silver copper coins, and bags of gold out of wario. still pixelated, but a neat reference.
shakes kirby until he flops and folds like rubber, reference to the anime and some copy abilities
shakes lucas until a English (and other languages) localized copy of mother 3 appears and phases its way out of the screen and onto your lap. oh also the 64 beta of mother 3 is there too
I'm a big Wario Land guy and I'd be pretty happy with this overhaul. I particularly like how the new throws reference Wario World and the Neutral Special, which fits Wario's character and plays into the Waft in an inspired way. Also, I choose to think of the new Back Air as a reference to the infamous Dance segment from Smooth Moves.
I'm glad you decided to include Wario's cake more in his moveset.
I'd love for someone to make a Smash Bros. fangame based on videos like this one, so we can basically test these theoretical movesets out.
Wario has potential for a cargo carry similar to Donkey Kong's forward throw, able to walk around and definitely able to do a pile driver with a moderate AOE. Not sure why people seem to overlook that, despite Wario world gameplay front and center xD
Carrying enemies is also something he does in the Wario Land games as well, so him having a cargo throw would be very fitting.
I like the shake idea, but i'd keep it as a pummel animation rather than the neutral special. I'd still keep his bite as the neutral special
I would really want future Smash games to make Wario’s final smash more like how it was in Brawl and 4 again. Plus I would love to see Waluigi and certain WarioWare characters as fighters
Im glad you did a balance of both series instead of kicking one out for the other.
EDIT: One more thing, to add another ref to Wario World, please have anyone under Wario or next to him while performing Piledriver also take damage, though the main target takes the most damage too.
one of the many videos on the internet that must be considered important
So, what I'd do is keep their current start up frames (8 and 12) and just keep the knockback nerfs (if that's what it takes for people to finally stop complaining about it.)
That's about it off the top of my head. You did a good job overall.
I'm constantly in shock whenever I hear that you're under 50,000 subs. Your quality and production value is worth way more than that.
I thought this channel already had like 1 million subs. You def deserve 1 million, let alone 30k
Pretty sure that Wario’s original up special was based on bouncy Wario’s spin jump from Wario Land 4
As a wise man has said many times: WAAAARRRRRRRIIIIIIOOOOOO TIIIIIIIIIIIIIIME!!!!
I hope you'll remake Bowser's moveset someday
Posting this again since I think trying to post that link to the article mentioned below made the comment get deleted by UA-cam:
I think you did a good job with Wario's updated moveset here.
This is pretty cool. Though I'm curious when you'll do Mr. Video Games revamped moveset.
The only way I can see her antagonizing Wario again, is if something happens to the bottomless coin sack, and she pulls a stunt like the discovery of the golden pyramid in order convince Wario to aide her in retrieving it or find a new fortune without he knowing he's doing so, for her to steal the loot at some point in the adventure
Because for as long as she has that thing by her side, there's no reason to do any treasure hunting, let alone be near Wario, and Wario's probably learned his lesson, and never trusting Syrup or anyone looking for help ever again after the Shake It fiasco
That said, its still very possible for that very thing to happen, because Animal Crossing New Horizons hinted that Captain Syrup was spotted sailing, she either doing it for hobby, her greed has no end, or something could've actually happened to the coin sack, or just give Wario a new place to raid, he needs no rival to go on a new adventure, like in Wario Land 4 where at best there was that professor guy u find at secret areas, but he wasn't an opposing force like Syrup or Cannoli, heck, gameplay-wise he was just a throwable item xd
Adding jiggle physics to the back air is wild 💀
Pretty good.
A better stirred pot of Wario's history with a more fitting fighting style and less toxic strats.
Wish he had a spike, but great video. He BADLY needs a moveset rework
Wario farting comes from Smooth Moves.
his Neutral Special is actually a reference to a microgame of the same name and it works exacly the same
Though I have some ideas I would like to see in a new Wario moveset, these are still pretty cool ideas.
I’m so glad you added Captain Syrup into his final smash and as a reference in his alts!
ten years in the wah
I can imagine Wario with some kind of coin mechanic where the more he gets from attacking, the stronger he gets.
Or he could turn golden like what happens when you get 100 coins in that one NSMB2 stage.
Not picking a variety of moves from Wario Land, Wario World and even Master of Disguise for his moveset feels more criminal than Wario himself. I even think they had something going with Bike and the Waft, but both weren't improvised enough.
With Waft if he had that slow down and on his way up had this echoing Wa-Ha-Ha-Ha! while going up it would be perfect.
If Wario did get that shake down special move, and if rings did not come out when he shook Sonic… What would even be the point!?
I was wondering if you could do Bowser at some point? He feels very much NOT Bowser in the Smash games.
It's about that time Bowser uses his actual voice instead of generic kaiju roars and growls.
@@justinnzamora5366 I think it's meant to reference monster Bower in Mario 64.

Jigglypuff absolutely, considering the next Pokémon game is a Legends game that takes place in Kalos where the fairy type was introduced, this remake is vital.

Ah, I see you're a man of culture as well.
This is awesome! I love it, especially Greedy Grasp and the bike tire. Those are both so cool and I want to see them implemented.
3:00 Why did you purposely forget about Waluigi and Mona?
Can you do one for Bowser?
6:44 Love the absolute tone change here for like two seconds.
Can't wait for Remake It Peach Smash Moveset
Yeah, something stinks about Wario's current moves in Smash, and it's NOT the waft. The apparent lack of Wario Land representation is jarring. I mean, he came from that series!
I found you 😊
Nice to see you here
@@SharonisCarin321 Greetings
@@erickmaverick3128 I think it's because Wario has so many games, that Sakurai can't cram them all into one moveset. In other words there's not enough room for both.
@@orangeslash1667 Yet, Delzethin easily did it in the video.
@@erickmaverick3128 Im worried that this would make him incredibly overpowered??
Nobody played it, but i would really like a reference to Master of Disguise. There's just so much to use😅
Mish Koz would like to know your location…
I like both warioware and wario land but I think you did a great job mixing the two
FORGET WALUIGI. WE NEED WARIOS NEW MOVESET IN SMASH.
AND HIS WARIOLAND ATTIREEEJDJDDJJD
Honestly, a decent amount of both Wario's _and_ Luigi's current movesets would fit better on Waluigi.
I don't know why Wario doesn't kick ass like he did in Wario World. The only thing that was incorporated was the back throw.
Someone make a bot that just spams this on smash videos
PRIORITIES
Noooo, why did you have to give his final smash that name?! You've given me PTSD!
This is an aesthetic, but for Greedy Grasp, whoever Wario is holding thier games currency will shake out of them, for those without currency its just coins. So it goes like this...
Mario, Donkey Fire Emblem, Dragon Quest, Castlevainia, Splatoon, and Xenoblade characters get gold coins shaken out of them with their series indicator (or lack there of) on them
Zelda characters get rupees shaken out of them
Sora gets Munny shaken out of him
Bayonetta and Sonic get ring/halos shaken out of them
Final Fantasy get gil shaken out of them
Pokemon characters get the pokedollar symbol shaken out of them
If you ever do Fox and make him similar to adventure then scrabs get shaken out of Fox exclusively
Kirby characters get star coins shaken out of them
Emeralds and Diamonds out of Steve
Kid Icarus characters get hearts shaken out of them
Olimar gets fleesed
the animal cross characters get bells shaken out of them
I find the neutral B quite interesting, it reminds me of Marina's shaking & pulling an item out move in Smash Remix
I like this moveset update! I'd still keep the down tilt poke, but otherwise it's as perfect as Wario himself!
(BTW do you miss playing as Wario-Man in Brawl and Smash 4?)
3:04 Why we need more costume slots. Everyone is gonna say the last one is Waluigi anyways.
FR.
This video is wonderful and a great video thank you for remaking Wario's move set I enjoy this video and you are wonderful, great, amazing,Awesome, and fantastic and I also the way that you remake Lucario's move set and all the other Character's move set
Ah, YOU PICK, WAAAAAARIO
I see a lot of people say Wario has one of the worst movesets in Smash in terms of representation, so I’m glad you came to the same conclusion as me that it’s already nearly perfect in that regard. Like yeah you could throw in a few more direct references and change some animations, but the core gameplay fits him too well to change. I’m not sure why so many people think otherwise!
I think it is because Wario mainly has overt WarioWare representation with only a few seeming concessions to Wario Land.
Wario Land for Smash, please and thank you
Another character that could use a remake it is Cloud, not only to include more things about the Remake/Rebirth games but also in my opinion could use some materia moves given how important it is both lore and gameplay wise
Definitely think you could do more with the transformations and helmets from wario land 1 and virtual boy wario land
We need a new WAAAAArio Land!
A pretty good rework of Wario's moveset
IMO His neutral special should be the shoulder dash and it will work like it does in smash remix.
Kinda disappointed that Shoulder Bash isn't his side b, but either way still good rework for Wario.
It’s already his dash attack. So I figure that’s enough.
Dash attack and f smash should be switched
It's a weird rework but I love it anyway
12:01
Container items, such as barrels and crates will shoot out a stream of items!
In Coin Battle modes, Wario also heals when picking up money! This move also shakes out more money that it otherwise would, letting you rinse your opponents pockets.
Of course Wario should have an advantage in the gamemode soley focused around collecting dosh! It's _Wario!_
