That power to weight ratio is insane at less than a ton. Wow. Really makes that quadbanger perform well. And the aero on these things just makes huge downforce that I thought gt3 were best at.
It's not surprising since these are basically prototypes pretending to be their road going versions.

This is my biggest dream to drive this monsters. F1, DTM, BTCC, Formula Renault, 24 Le Mans, oooh just one of them, one lap. And then just one more lap please.
These sound super similar to the BTCC exhaust tonation but the hell of a lot louder

I wish BMW would drop a variant of this engine in the next gen M2. Especially if it would look anything like it. That P48 carbon engine cover, and intake plenum look stunning. The exhaust manifold heatshield is a thing of beauty.
It should help bring the overall weight of the car down. Especially combined with the new style carbon fibre race seats, as seen in the upcoming 2021 BMW M3

@@flackojodye5829, Well, maybe wish is to strong of a word. 😅 But like i said, if it looks and sounds anything like it, and it’s a plus 400hp high revving engine, 1500kg overall weight i’d be down. Have you seen pictures of the P48 DTM engine? I think it looks stunning. Furthermore, i think four cilynder engines will eventually be implemented in futur M models. As a hybrid setup for M2, M3 and M4. Six cilynder engines will go to M5, M6 and up.
Owning a sportscar is getting expensive in Some europeen countries due to co2 emession regulations. And it’s probably going to get worse. So if i can own a four cilyndered M2 instead or no M2 at all, i would quit happely take the four cilynder.
But in a perfect world, sure they would still give us NA straight six cilyndered M cars. I’m affraid those days are gone.
@@Jb001jb thats true but still i wish that the straight 6 engines remain in the M2 and M3/M4 cars. a four cylinder never sounds as good as a straight 6 no matter how high it revs. a straight 6 engine is the most balanced and imo the best engine concept there is.

@@Belgian-Motorsport gt3 is derived from expensive sports car and modified aerodynamic that rise up the cost! Huracan 2million dollar was modified the body work that more expensive than the road version....

LOL Italian racing should hold these italian car brands: Lamborghini, Ferrari, Pagani and Maserati... Petr from Czech, Europe, Petr aus Tschechien, Europa...

dtm looks boring now,why don't they simply make it a one mark race.... same chassis,engine drivetrain setup and see who's faster... oh wait,that would be boring... oh wait.. its what dtm is nowadays
That’s makes it more about the pilot. It tells me they are using the best car for their strategies
@@pichubball if all of the cars are the same then a fraction of a second advantage in qualifying determines the race for the most part..... imagine,changing track condition and so on will affect lap times... hence the one who got it perfectly at the perfect time gets a higher % of winning rather than a group of engineers getting their own different platform ahead by innovation.
