- Thanks to HobbyRC for the quick delivery and the excellent packaging that kept this very expensive foam and balsa wood unscratched.

SIZE COMPARISON:
With the 40" wing kit for the Nano the overall wing-tip to wing-tip seize is the same as the Mini Drak but the body is 4" shorter on the Nano..

My Mini Drak arrived the other week. I enjoyed the community build and will follow this detailed build of the nano as a guide. Thanks Lee
I was so amazed with how my 28” drak flew I purchased a 40” boomer to receive the guts of my super waggy edition ar wing. lol. Flying a drak after flying a typical wing is like flying dji fpv vs analog. It’s not till you get it in the air where the rewards are exemplified.
Great video. An asset you are to the hobby. Your info is worth its weight in gold.
Pretty interesting, Lee! Thanks a lot for this series! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks, you too!
Looking forward to this Lee.
Had my eye on these, then remembered I still haven’t built my Mini Drak..... or my big Drak. 🤔
My advice would be - do it!! I had mine for almost 2 years before building the mini and it flies beautifully.... The Nano does too (see the maiden video at the end of the series)...
Love my Nano Drak! But I recommend the boom tail with the 40” wings. I have 40” cut down to 32” and it hauls!
Thanks for the tip!
I'd love to see a comparison of with and without a boom tail, efficiency, handling. My acro boomer style plane does half of high speed roll when I yank the pitch to hard but my race wing doesn't. Always wondered if it was the boom or the wing design.
Fine looking air frame..great to tote about.
Great job with this video and timing is perfect as mine arrives in a few days! 40" kit which I may cut down a bit but will not use the boom tail. DJI Air for the looking, Matek F-722 for the thinking and a Sunnysky motor for the pushing. Probably no GoPro on this one.
Check out how I added the DJI kit to the Mini Drak series from Spring. It need a whole lot of airflow to stay cool..
@@Painless360 I will have a look! There are some nice 3D prints already done for this that I will try out. Have designed and printed a swapable pod for the air unit on other wings I fly but it will not work on this one.
Yesssss just bought one so I’ll need these videos to help me out setting up thanks painless you legend
You're welcome! :D The full build is in the playlist if you need the rest now...
Painless360 amazing as always thanks man :)
super video 😀👍
i wonder if one of those small hot metal wires would work better than a sharp blade for the bits that need to be trimmed. You know, the ones that can be powered by a battery pack.
You cant resist can you lee lol.its an addiction.but a good addiction apart from the wallet and wife dont like it.great looking kit and great video as allways.gotta go to work now and weather aint great for grinding and pointing round a house today but needs must so take care lee and as allways stay safe my friend and look forward to part 2 and flight footage.
No need to wait, it's all in the playlist. I maiden'd it at the start of this week.. ;)
excellent! 👍👍🙏❤️🥃
Looks like fun!
I'm not sure the aileron stock you received is too long tho. I think they go on the angles side of the wing, as it is a swept forward wing.
Check out the next video for the assembly and you'll see... Happy flying
I know this was awhile ago but do you remember if you needed to order control rod linkages separately or was it included? Thanks.
I think I had to get them seperately from what I recall... Best of luck
@@Painless360 Thanks for the reply, looking forward to building my nano drak!
Which size of speed controller and motor are you going to use ⁉️
All covered in the series. Check out the playlist... Happy flying
So I gather from looking at hobbyrc's site you buy the fuselage and wings as separate parts? Is that correct? If so what is the boom tail kit? Is than an optional extra or required part too?
Yep, all separate. Boom is separate too but I'm not using one..
Painless360 ah thank you , what does the boom do?
@@jibbajabba4597 added stability
What do you estimate the all up weight will be for the Nano Drak with the 40" wing?
Just under 1Kg with battery..
@@Painless360 Was wondering if it would work for a sub 250g build. Seems only the Drift or the Dart 250g would work.
@@nathanielgeorge1398 Best option for a sub-250 build right now is either the Drift, like you mentioned or the nanoGoblin, Dart 250 is very tough to get below 250 grams with a decent battery. Happy Flying!
@@smackfpv I picked up a Dart250g about 2 weeks ago. It just got in, in the mail. Weight without the KoPilot seems about 124 grams. GPS + Kopilot is 19g. But I took the Kopilot apart, and if you strip the screws, and the extra board layers protecting it, it drops from 10g to 4.5g. But you are right. Very hard to do. 5g for a Spektrum Receiver stripped of it's shell. HD recording cam with transmitter is another 22grams, or there about... VC400 is about 9g. The 2Cell ZOHD battery is 108g which pushes the weight to 260~g. That's using the VC400. With a HD cam setup about 12g for the lowest weight camera I saw, and a transmitter of 5g, and wires to connect... let's say 3g... that's -9 VC400 +20 so about 270g. Unless you choose a 2cell or 3cell battery that's a lower mah... I have a 2cell 800 mah and that is about 44g... Maybe a 1800 mah 2cell will work... but I need to build the system up first, to see what weight limit I'll have for the battery.
@@nathanielgeorge1398 Good luck with it and if you post your build I would love to see it. My Dart 250 will come in at 290 grams with a home made 2 cell 18650. Had it for a long time just need to finish the build!
Really love the draks. They look great and have heard they fly beautifully.... but for such expensive planes I would expect for those moulded bumps to be removed during the manufacturing process.
Thanks for sharing this video, look forward to seeing the rest of the series
Couldn't agree more. Great products but crap build support and instructions. Ya gotta know a guy who knows a guy... You get a box of foam and then get to spend days searching around for piecemeal instructions. Worth it once the birds in the air but frustrating as hell. On my recent ext MD boom build, I amassed 20 pages of bits and pieces of information gleaned from many sources.
