  • Thanks to HobbyRC for the quick delivery and the excellent packaging that kept this very expensive foam and balsa wood unscratched.

    SIZE COMPARISON:
With the 40" wing kit for the Nano the overall wing-tip to wing-tip seize is the same as the Mini Drak but the body is 4" shorter on the Nano..

You did a nice job Lee.
I’ve built a total of 6 Draks, 1 Big Drak, 1 Mini, and 4 different style Nanos, and the builds go together pretty much the same (for anyone that’s interested).
Can’t wait to see you install the goodies (electronics, etc).
Also, can’t wait to see the maiden!
Thanks for all your help and hard work! ✌🏼

I was at this event last year called the Readymaderc FPV Fest 19 and had a real good time. I watched an enormous Drake fly around and thought I really needed to get into this. I haven't yet b7t still thinking about it.. Really enjoy your channel...👍🏻🍻👊🏻

Thanks for this series, just what I need! Have you specced a motor/battery/ESC/prop yet?

Yes. All on their way and will be covered in the next video... It's what's recommended in the Nano Drak details.. Happy flying

Checkout the Sunnysky III-series 2212 2450KV motor with 3700-4000mAh 4S Lipo on 6x4 APC or 6043 Gemfan Flash prop. T-Motor 2310 2200KV Spec motor also works very well.

E6000 has that nice applicator that uhu poor doesn't but is it better?

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  4 роки тому +1

I'd use what you have but the E6000 is what Ritewing suggested so it's what I used.. Happy flying Jack! :D

May I ask an unrelated question. Trying to build my first multirotor based on ideas from the Ardupilot och cheap FCs videos.
Problem: When I connect the battery, I hear the first three tones (ESCs have power) but not the second two, which I understand means that they are not communicating with the FC. I have tested, and I can’t get the motors to spin with MissionPlanner motor test.
Setup: Omnibus F4 Pro flashed with ArduCopter 4.0.3 (same problem existed on previous versions). Racerstar 35A Anniversary 4 in 1 BLHeli_S ESC. I also don’t have a radio receiver connected. But is this necessary for the ESCs to start up properly and to test motor rotation in MissionPlanner (so that I can confirm correct direction, etc)?
The ESCs initialize properly, and spin the motors, when I use a servo tester. I have tried selecting different protocols such as “Normal” and different DShot protocols (150 and 600). No difference. I tried lower the pwm min output without any luck. ESC calibration doesn’t work as described. Tried to configure BLHeli passthrough, but BLHeli Suite can’t find the ESCS. I wanted to tinker more but now for some reason my PC and FC don’t want to connect, and I need to troubleshoot that problem. In the meantime I thought I’d ask if anybody has a suggestion for what I should have a look at.
    Many thanks in advance!

Not sure, all the steps that worked for me are in the Arduplane Omnibus series... best of luck

@@Painless360 Thanks for the quick reply. I'm not sure why but the ESCs seem to initialize now., but with some latency. On power, as previously, I get the first three tones. Then the FC seems to boot up (the blue LED starts flashing slowly, rather than fast), and we get those three tones again. A couple of moments later I get the last two tones.
I fiddled around with the FC_THR_MIN, SERVOn_MIN and RCn_MIN, back and forth. It seems to work, even though I believe that all the values are reset back to recommended defaults. It also seems to work with "Normal PWM", DSHOT150, and DSHOT600 protocols. I just need to resolder the ESC signal wires and confirm. Managed to pull a couple of these delicate little wires out of the FC.

Which frame do you prefer more. The mini drak, or the nano talon?

For speed and stability it's the Drak. But it takes a lot of cash and work to get one finished.. ..
