    Was that the real "maiden" overhead hand launch? (30:14) Given all that went wrong in the build process, this is hard to believe!. Or, was this an all or nothing thoss moment? LOL.
    At least the flight controller direction setting right, and the prop stayed on.
    Missed seeing some 3D printing, or cad glimpse (at ~10:00). That spider looking plastic frame just seem to appear out of no-where.
    hidden on the side vs shark. An eye-patch on the nose next the the caddx could give nice pirate look.
    Love the tail lights. Almost looks like a spaceship (rocket engines lite up) when being chased. Not sure was by design, but great idea for formation flying.
    Overall a very entertaining and informative build video. 😎👍👍

      In all honesty, the footage of the Drak being launched was actually from it's 2nd flight, as I forgot to set up a camera the 1st time around lol. The 1st launch was done in exactly the same way though - 2 handed overhead throw and hope for the best 😂 The flight footage was all from the maiden flight. Fun fact, although the Drak flew fine on its 1st flight, it sounded horrendous! It was only upon landing that I discovered the reason why, which was because I'd forgotten to tighten down the prop hub! lol.
      As for the 3d printing stuff, I actually did record some footage of the parts being designed and printed, but in the end chose to omit them from the video as the video was already getting too long. I did put some of the footage on my Instagram though :)

    • @gizfpv
      @gizfpv  2 роки тому +1

      The Dolphin is a good looking aircraft tbf. The only advantage I'd say the Drak has is it is made of a very dense foam and it's almost indestructible. But it is complicated to build, and it's also very expensive for what it is. I'd say the Dolphin is a good alternative for those wanting a easier and more affordable build

    • @Mateyhv1
      @Mateyhv1 2 роки тому +1

      @@gizfpv yes, that foam is hard I believe as the Multiplex one which almost resembles pure hard plastic. The Dolphin (white) has a very good foam as well, above average hardness and not easy to mark at all, anyway additional protection always helps. I suggest you use the clear (the one that looks slightly yellowish on the roll) Tesa 4024 packaging tape in places where it's hard to put Oracover. Works great

    Are the nano Drak's even being manufactured still? They haven't been in stock anywhere in North America since late 2018. None that I've seen anyway. I've seen guys on Facebook groups scalping unassembled kits for as much as $1,000 USD.

      You'd be surprised!
      One of my favourite aircraft is the Sig Wonder from the early 90's, it's very similar to your Nano Drak in design but using a O.S .15 engine and basic aileron & elevator.
      The insane things I can do with this aircraft leave most pilots speechless, I'd do stall turns without rudders leaving people scratching their heads, or slow extreme high alpha post stall flight...I might have to build another one. 😁

    Such a shame to take all this time and expense to fly a video game ...... you could stay home and play the full thing on the Computer.... it seems like an F-117 to me, can you fly it if the computer goes wonky ... ?

    • @gizfpv
      @gizfpv  2 роки тому +1

      I'm going to assume your a 12 year old kid so I'll be polite. There's more to life than playing video games. You get a great sense of satisfaction when you see a aircraft that you built yourself actually fly. You also get a adrenaline rush each time you fly, as you know there's a genuine (albeit small) chance that all your time and money could be lost if something were to go wrong. The risk is what makes it fun. There's no pause or restart button.
      And in regard to your question, yes the Drak can fly absolutely fine without a computer onboard. It's just a nice luxury to have.
