    VERY IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!!!
    Resetting Adaptations is not necessary anymore or recommended. The creators of TuneEcu have directly stated not to do the "reset adaptations" anymore, and to simply use the 12 minute tune method.
    Also, if the audio bothers you, i created a duplicate of this video without the music. Look through my videos and you'll find it

    There is no 12 minute tune, never was. It's a mild reset on some low level adaptives, nothing more... This is one of the Triumph Myths that just won't die because people keep repeating it... lol

    • @NicePantsLance
      @NicePantsLance  Рік тому

      I definitely mentioned the fact that its not a tune in the video. You are taking the word TUNE in the term "12 minute tune" way too literally. The "12 minute tune" is not a map or tune at all. It is simply the NICKNAME given to the reset by the general masses. People have been calling the idle loop reset the "12 minute tune" for more than a decade my friend lol
      Only reason that nickname became so popular is because it used to have a huge effect on the older triumphs, and make them feel better while riding temporarily.
      Don't get your boxers in a twist. Some people call them jimmies, but i dont get mad at them because i prefer sprinkles 🤷‍♂️

      @@NicePantsLance long time triumph tuner here, so I want to make sure the info is correct. I see too many people tossing on a full race exhaust and claiming that the bike will tune itself... I see it almost daily. Lol

      Yeah i see the same thing in the facebook groups lol people are becoming more and more ignorant. They take the first thing they see on the internet and run wild with it. People love to tell others that the "ecu will adjust itself" when asked whether a tune is necessary after a header install lol 😆 its a people problem for sure

    What is the difference between PC 5 and the thing you are doing. Iam really new in this topic. I would be really happy when you give me your feedback

    • @NicePantsLance
      @NicePantsLance  5 місяців тому +1

      Power Commander 5 is a piggyback unit that you install directly on your motorcycle. The unit itself can be connected to and installed with different tunes. You must use a specific software to interact with the PC5 unit. Most mainstream motorcycles are compatible
      TuneEcu is a software program lets you flash the motorcycle’s ecu directly, run data logs, test sensors, and essentially give you executive control over your motorcycle. You have to purchase a seperate bluetooth adapter (OBDLink LX) to connect the motorcycle to the TuneEcu software. TuneEcu isnt compatible with as many motorcycle brands as PC5, but it's compatible with bikes that PC5 doesn't. CCM, Moto Guzzi, and Moto Morini are TuneEcu compatible but not PC5.

      As i said before, you wont see any testing selections until you connect to the bike. You wont even be able to connect to the bike until you register and pay for the app. You should go to the website and do some reading.
      As for your bike, it sounds like you have alot more going on than just with tuning. What make and model of bike do you own?

    Hey! thanks for the tutorial!
    I have a question, does the LX is enough for the Triumph tiger 1050 sport (2013)? i might need a reset of the map/adaptation of my bike. From this documentation, i understand that I might need a cable connection and not bluetooth... am I right ?

    • @NicePantsLance

  • @angeloa573

    Hi, I have TuneEcu and a custom DNK tune for my 2022 scrambler 1200. The dealer just installed the bluetooth and updated my ecu. Does anyone know if I reinstall my DNK tune if it will remove the bluetooth software? I reached out to DNK but they did not know about my situation.

    • @NicePantsLance
      @NicePantsLance  Рік тому

      Danielle doesnt really know much tbh, she just sells her tunes and hopes people don't reach back out.
      What you should do is try to read the map file thats on the bike. Compare it to a stock tune file that you can get on the Tune Ecu website! If the maps look the same, you'll need to reinstall your DNK tune. If the tune on the bike looks different from the stock tune off the website, then the bike probably still has the DNK tune on it. Hope you figure it out!

    Got a question concerning resetting adaptations on the Street triple 765 rs 2020+. I selected reset adaptations but ran out of time to start the bike and let it idle for 15 mins so just switched the bike off (bike was not started). The fuel level indicator reset as well. Will it be ok to start it in the morning and run it on idle for 15 mins or do I have to reconnect tuneecu again and re select reset adaptions again?

    • @NicePantsLance
      @NicePantsLance  2 роки тому +1

      You're alright! Actually, the reset adaptations should only be used IN PLACE of the 15 minute reset, only when the bike is already up to temp. I know i didn't provide some of those details in the video, but to answer your question, yes you are totally fine to run the 15 minute reset and dont bother resetting adaptations again! The 15 minute reset willl take care of everything! After that, have a nice ride 🤘 hope this helps!

    I just put on Emgo exhaust tips so my 2013 Speedmaster can be louder so I can stay alive lol. Now it keeps backfiring. Any clue if I need to flash EVU or purchase a Power Commander or rejet it as I was told?

    • @NicePantsLance
      @NicePantsLance  2 роки тому +1

      Kinda hard to call them exhaust "tips" when its basically half of the entire exhaust lol you're gonna get popping when you switch to a high-flow exhaust. Rejetting is for carbureted bikes, and i assume yours is fuel injected. Its not detrimental to the bike, but if you generally hate the sound, then youll need a Power Commander 5 with autotune or if youre lucky you could score TuneEcu and find a map that clears the popping. If you want all popping to disappear, you may need a pro dyno tune. Might want to check the online speedmaster forums or speedmaster facebook groups first. Might get a more direct answer
