      From my book-
If you slow down and look around, amazing things can happen if you're aware enough to pay attention. Something amazing happened to me recently, and it easily could have gone un-noticed if I had not stopped what I was doing.
So--, I was driving down Skyline towards Alice"s restaurant, and I was running a bit early. As I drove along the vista point overlooking the valley, the view came up and so pulled over. I got out to enjoy the view and a cloud came out of nowhere and enveloped the whole area. From clear as could be, to total white out in seconds! Nobody was around me and there wasn't any traffic. The
complete sound of silence was almost creepy. As I was enjoying this total
absence of any noise at all, in this absolute white essence, I started hearing a very faint whistling. Over the next 10 minutes, the whistling became louder and much clearer. It was amazing to hear one of Handel's concertos being executed with such precision and clarity. I had no idea where the sound was coming from! It felt almost like I was in a heavenly, out of body experience. I could hear it
coming from down the road and I watched intently to see what or who it was. A figure slowly emerged from the thick fog. A very strange looking man with a really silly hat came whistling down the road. Hands in his pockets and looking skyward he came out of the cloud without notice that I was there listening to him. I startled him by saying out loud that I really enjoyed his whistling. He told me it was one of Handel's concertos and thanked me. The man carried on and it was all over in a flash of about 15 minutes.
IF I had not pulled over to "smell the roses", IF I had just sat in the car, IF I wasn't paying close attention to my surroundings, this magical moment would have been lost as if it never occurred. To me it was almost spiritual and so far, was the most remarkable experience of my day. Tomorrow will be another day.
      Make your life remarkable!

I work to live because I feel that if I pursued (one of) my passions in the line of work I wouldn't be able to generate enough income to pursue all my passions in life, or it would be highly financially risky to embark on. Hello again old friend 😊

Every once in a great while I'm honored to hear someone near my little stretch of woods playing the flute. Although they're near, they've never made themselves known to me even though I've spoken aloud, told them ' I'm here!! And I'm enjoying your music!'.
It is quite a thing to hear while spending some quite time amongst the trees, magical.

Being a father to 7 kids is something I can't even imagine. Kudos to you and your wife.
Regarding young people not putting up with the system anymore, I just can't see it happening. Too many distractions, too many microplastics in everything and the government/big tech can probably nip any revolution in the bud before it gets out of hand. Some say the arab spring only happened because facebook could not effectively moderate the arab language, not that the arab spring did much to improve life in the region. Young people today don't really have a distinctly different ideology to propose, unlike communists in the 20th century. Say what you want about communism, but at least it's an ethos.
If the situation doesn't improve soon, the lack of babies today is going to set in motion the inevitable failure of the USA, China and especially Europe. I want more trees, more babies, less addictive tech, fewer cars, more bicycles, more trams and more affordable housing in safe, walkable cities where kids can play outside without being ran over by a cybertruck. But all we get is agenda 2030's _"you'll own nothing and be happy"._ Why couldn't they make that _"the dignified living agenda"_ or just _"the pro-family agenda"._ Why does it even have to be an agenda instead of a new constitution we all decide on democratically? Ok, I'm just ranting now.

From my observations over the past few months on youtube, keep putting out the shorts. Those seem to be a good hook, especially those that start off with something visual that grabs you. Views from up high in the bucket truck. Bit of nature doing something goofy. The fungus ID's. Nice burls, Ugly burls. Panning across a city scape and the tree canopy (to keep it channel related). Maybe a bit of philosphy while kitted up in your work gear and then a shot of some limb getting chainsaw cut and dropping on the rope to cut. Think commercials that people don't fast foward through if theres that visual hook to grab 'em. Might even be short clips of things you put on the cutting room floor that you don't think is suitable for your regular videos.

I have to agree on that backup second interest. I was a sign painter and computers put that skill in the garbage can. My partner had a business that compiled a book onto a tape that they were printed from. Computers killed that business. You have to think about the progression of technology.
I have to dampen the idea of inflation. Yes, the middle class is taking a beating. I'm old enough to know about women being home and men working. But the elderly have always made the claim about the terrible price of things. My Mom wanted to buy a brand new brick bungalow in about 1948 for $5000.00. My Great Uncle told her that the price was ridiculous! Wait and they will come back down! Well, you know how that advice went. The trick is thriving in the world you live in.
