Awesome to see another video of your, Blair, and I see trees falling without all the usual safety precautions. This is more the style Andrew Camarata goes about with trees and bushes that need to go. I also might be too early regarding the funny comments, though they will come, no doubt about that. Today we had rain after 3 months of drought, the jungle started to look pale and we have been putting many drinking spots for birds, boars, deer and all kind of other wildlife suffering the drought. You are heading towards 50K subscribers, that is a great achievement. 🙂 Hope you are doing well, all the best from Mexico :-)
@@arboristBlairGlenn That would indeed be awesome. Keep sharing your knowledge and your love for trees. More and more people are running away from big cities.
a friend lives 9 miles east of North Fork Ca on Mammoth Pool Rd. Moved there in 1969 when he was 19, came from Texas. He's done reforestation all his life. Has all kinds of fancy tools and tractors including a special small mastication head he designed for that precise "save the planet" mind set. He's a vegatarian, too. Well, "they" began burning the forest down in 2013. Many times since then. I lived out there for 18 yrs, until 2018, and I can't count the fires. In 2016 he said "I;m retiring, Everything I've done in forestry in the last 50yrs has been burned". Well, almost. He didn't retire. There have been 6 or more fires since then. But in 2022 the "Creek Fire" burned the entire San Joaquin River drainage, some 700,000 acres, the official number is lower but everything burned, burned across his place , burned across Mammoth Pool rd and into Cascadel, about 4 miles from North Fork. I went out there recently, was a few miles from the fire source. Everything is toast. Maybe 5% of the Ponderosa made it. The water is flowing in all the creeks....because there is nothing living to suck up water. So he doesn't use that mastication head often.
In my vocabulary this is a skid steer with a attached MULCHER!
Tom 😎
The word “MASTICATOR” is on the unit
@@arboristBlairGlenn OK Blair. I was a bit surprised having never before heard that word. Might be a brand name , trademark or something like that.
USFS uses these where I live in the Socal mountains to clear brush and ladderfuels for fuelbreaks. Its a highly effective machine for that purpose.
Great machine

I came for the comments but a little too early for the funny ones. I'll be checking back. 😅

One who "Masticates"
Only when my wife is away🤔
Fecon
This one is not that brand. Do you have the Fecon?
@@arboristBlairGlenn A friend has one. Very efficient clearing.
Never seen such a device. I bet the Chinese have a few of these just in case the students protest.
Scary thought
So closed Christmas trees is really bad for biodiversity. Could be better now...
