Who ever mixed the sound on this show deserves a raise!
drum sounds a bit imperfect, but yeah, the overall sounds great.
Specially since it's uploaded on youtube....
too much snare bottom mic.
OmNimnom it's the accoustics of the room and being confined that give the drums the sound
Cymbals sound like shit though
Underrated Drummer Tre Cool
Underrated? Only so because people refer to him as "that crazy drummer guy" without knowing his name.
Underrated jason white
He fat
But the new album is tre uncool
He's amazing
This has got to be one of the cleanest, best sounding live performance I've ever heard.
Cooler King CVH Yes, but at the same time lacking energy. Guess its the radio enviorement.
Captain Howdy Stop talking to me! 😨😅😅
There's some big money equipment in that room.
@@wanik4 I mean yeah... the are literally in a studio. Does that count as "live"?
@@makaikawa7665 It's the stern show, so this is at 6 or 7 in the morning
0:56 classic billy joe eyes 👊
Looks kinda like Paul McCartney there too if you think about it
He’s just thinking
They still got it.
Arne Asada they always will 🤘🏻
They're all around 40 and they still can play like they did in 94. Amazing 🤘🏻
Jimmy Stradley well I mean besides for the change in Billie's vocals
jaded in chicago was fucking insane. they bring pretty good energy
Jimmy Stradley '92*
They were 44 in this video.
And yes.
Yes they can.
It's amazing indeed.
92
I've always admired how good Green Day sounds live
saw them in Detroit 2001. Great live.
That Tom/Ride groove by Tre around 2:51 is one of my favorites. Its awesome to get a clear view of him doing it. He killed it as always.
2:00 Billie and Mike looked at each other, the look was so wholesome omgggg
If I had that technique at 2:52 I wouldnt be a dentist.
Honestly I'd expect that kind of wrist control from my dentist :P
that make me laugh 😂
Im a dentist and a drummer. I feel you bro.
RT reference
@Jake Fellner after about 10 years yes but it would be too late for most people
Tight and what a great mix/sound.
Yeah seriously. These Stern live performances are surprisingly well mixed and clean. I hope they keep doing this stuff.
Robert Jones like a album record.
Like a album record hehe.
Robert Jones who is the dude to the left of billy? I've seen him with them on revolution radio tour but I can never find his name.
cheers for jeff matika
Howard's face at 2:24 is me every time it gets to that part
LMAO! I love it! Stern Fan for life!
Charles Obscure lmao me too that bass is so fresh 👌🏻👌🏻
Damn, tre working!!
such an underrated drummer
What you’re witnessing here is pure muscle memory, almost no thought or effort goes into it after you play the same song thousands upon thousands of times over several decades. I guarantee you he could play this song in his sleep. Hell, he probably could have by the time they recorded it in 1994 lol
Man, these Howard Stern Show live performances sound great. Was checking Metallica's from the other day and it sounds great too. Love the mixing.
HSS guitars?
it sounds just the same as the album. or i would say better
You're right! It's awesome =)
Camino de Regreso AWESOME
Right on, that fucking mixer deserves a raise. Surprised one of these bands hasn't poached him!!
Omg! Tre Cool is such an incredible drummer, outstanding!!!
You wanna know how Billie's guitar sounds exactly as it ever has?
Because that's the exact same guitar he's ever had.
Slightly different, Blue didn't have Graphtech saddles ;-)
Steven S And no longer having a Bill Lawrence L-500XL :D
Magnets, how do they work?
Steven S I'm not saying that you're wrong, but you can change saddles...
Steven S well it's an old guitar so he's got it repaired a whole bunch of times
2:00 is so good
So THAT'S how you do the ride cymbal thing!!
2:25 Howard's smile shows pure enjoyment of watching and hearing an amazing and flawless live performance from Greenday.
"Damn that's good" indeed!
I love how billie and Mike looking at each other and start smiling while playing welcome to paradise all they're old memories! :)
Give the sound guy a fucking raise!!!!
This is how Green Day should sound live :) perfect audio mix and the clean loud sound of the vocals, the guitars, the bass, the drums and keyboards makes it perfect :) The Stern Rock N Roll Tapes
sonic jet The mixing on Howard Stern is fucking awesome.
sonic jet In fairness they always sound flawless mixing wise live
Not so much the drums. The Tom sound kinda sucks :/ but overall its pretty much perfect
"Welcome To Paradise"
Dear mother,
Can you hear me whining?
It's been three whole weeks
Since that I have left your home
This sudden fear has left me trembling
'Cause now it seems that I am out here on my own
And I'm feeling so alone
Pay attention to the cracked streets and the broken homes
Some call it slums
Some call it nice
I want to take you through a wasteland I like to call my home
Welcome to paradise
A gunshot rings out at the station
Another urchin snaps and left dead on his own
It makes me wonder why I'm still here
For some strange reason it's now
Feeling like my home
And I'm never gonna go
Pay attention to the cracked streets and the broken homes
Some call it slums
Some call it nice
I want to take you through a wasteland I like to call my home
Welcome to paradise
Dear mother,
Can you hear me laughing?
It's been six whole months
Since that I have left your home
It makes me wonder why I'm still here
For some strange reason it's now
Feeling like my home
And I'm never gonna go
Pay attention to the cracked streets and the broken homes
Some call it slums
Some call it nice
I want to take you through a wasteland I like to call my home
Welcome to paradise
Oh, paradise
내년 3월을 위한 예습 ㅋㅋ
Needs more liked
It’s so mad to think that he’s had that guitar all his life and it still sounds amazing
Rocking like the 90's
I've had a very stressful day, and seeing this is helping with that! It's always nice to hear some Green Day!
PikachuYoshiPines 164 yes!
Tre's one of the greatest drummers around.... super solid!
3:15 He is chewing a gum! What a legend...
Mike’s bass tone on that 60’s P bass is 🔥🔥. Amazing performance! 🙌🏻
Mike is the most Energetic guy in Green Day
\m/
Yeah, but he didn't seem to have enough room to move around in this performance haha
1:58 Amazing! These guys still love playing in a band with each other! 2:09 #blushing
Billy is one of the best guitarist and singer at the same time, in all punk rock bands of decades, really.
Billie joe has found the fountain of youth
Chris Arias But there's a drought so he is dehydrated.
And now I'm dehydrating
Yeah, no wonder why there's a drought in the fountain of youth. He drank it all.
But I thought it was under a drought?
Voice has aged incredibly
i like how they are trying to play it exactly how it sounds on the album, tempo and all. good shit.
All live music should strive to be as good or better than the recording.
This brings back memories from 1994 when I listened to Dookie all the time. Great stuff and I will catch them on tour when they come to Stockholm, Sweden in early 2017!!!
winberg4ever did you catch them?
Billie Joe's strumming is so soft now 😂
He's not on speed anymore.
Beckam Nguyen he isn’t a drug head now lmao
Prob because hes been doing it for a long time idk
replying to a 2 year comment, i know 😂 but i was thinking the same thing. I'm gonna speculate that he was just taking it easy since this isn't their typical arena/venue performance so no need for him to give it 200%
Beckam Nguyen He used to seriously punch that thing
I like how that guy in the back kinda just stands there awkwardly just singing a couple of word
this sounded so good. Thumbs up sound guy !
Daaaaamn...that's good!!!!
Still my favorite rock band after all these years.
The sound mixer guy is so damn good at The Howard Stern show. All bands that performs here sounds epic
Incredible band .....Tre Cool is one of the best drummers to come out of the 90s.....he created beats and a style that NO ONE had heard ...he did it effortlessly.
I would love to see them play as the trio again one day
Look up green day live hurricane harvey. They did a 3 piece and only did old songs
I'm trying to enjoy mikes bass solo and all I can pay attention to is the Gary puppet
Love seeing the Gary puppet in the background. Feels like it is the early 90s all over again!
2:10 it’s like a traditional for billie to face tre and/or the amp during this part
He needs to face the amp to get a feedback noise
Chewing gum and singing , now that's talent! Oh and Tre is so awesome as well ! Love his bad ass drumming! Lol
"Damn thats good!"
This song will always remind me of doing my homework, of course, at home in 10th grade.
At that point this album had been out for five years.
2018 anybody? Also I'd say I'm manly as fuck but the way Billie and Mike look at each other @ 2:00 brings a tear to my eye.
Just beyond words.. I bet no other band can sound such awesome live. They're legends..
Tre is my inspiration. I love his style and I will always idolise him. He's the coolest
I really like the rough voiced Billie in this video, it's works in a way
I love how tre keep his intensity after all these years.
Mike's backup vocals on the chorus 😍
I banged my head watching this
Bro for as old as they are, they still fucking got it. 👌👌👌
I was waiting for the power Stance and the aggressive down strums and the head twitching.
I love this song, it's great.
2:52 Tre is crazy 🔥
nice drummer
The best.
The backing vocals are so good
Sound so good
CRAZY SOUND
I fucking love his drumming, just slaps unapologetically ...♥
You know a band kicks ass if they can rock a stadium, arena, club, or a small recording studio. 👍
"Damn that's good!"
Damn, that was almost exactly an album perfect recreation. Most bands don't get it that close on a promo tour of a current single.
Fanfuckintastic.
is billie guitar the same one that he used in basket case mtv?...if it was...damn its classic
immortality Yes that's the famous "blue" guitar. Billie's mom bought it for him when he was a child. He uses it for old green day songs mostly.
That's his original guitar he head way when he first started green day
plays it at every show!
Yep, it's called Blue
Yes, he uses to play the band's 90's songs.
Damn, compare Trè in this to their Holiday performance. He craves the old punk songs, and he hasn’t slowed down. His arms and wrists are just as strong as ever.
THE EYES! 0:57
This was the 1st GD song I heard back in the day.
Anyone else?..
Song used to be way faster tho but I love this version
This best song for green day
They seriously sound perfect live 🤘🏻
Damn I'm supposed to be going to bed rn but now I can't sleep because Green Day got me hyped af
Mixing is reeeeally good.
Holy shit they sound amazing
Ladies and gentlemen the one and only mother fucking green day most awesome band on the planet
2:00 best moment - they look happy to play this old classic song :)
tre is so amazing !!!!!
The mix is spot on
This is the calmest I have ever seen them play this song
This is the closest ive ever heard billies voice to sounding like he was when he was young I've ever heard. Awsome man
yep tight as band and great sound
The bands always sound amazing on this.
i fucking love that bass solo
Billy: singing lyrics
Mike and Jason: eohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
lol love this song
Super cool to see him bust out the old strat for this song.!
RefusalCode he always does this for the older songs like brain stew and when I come around :)
I wouldn't say busting out. He uses Blue for all the old songs.
their live vids are so much better than they used to be
Cheetah Cat they are sober
Best Band Ever
Love how he's just nonchalantly chewing gum the entire time but rocken it
Get at it Trey! Woo!
I came here after watching "Welcome to Paradise at Reading Festival, 2004).
What a world of difference that is!
They are such a tight fucking band it's so good. Amazing 😍
Love how Billie's voice is lower here, like it was in the 90s :D
Best live version of this song; no question.
