Good to see a young man who is both talented and grounded.

Congratulations to James for his mastery of archery. I am sure he will keep growing and developing his skills: they are hard won. Most importantly, he has the passion and intrinsic motivation to succeed. While support of those around him are important, James is the one doing all the work.
Two under-18 Australian archers broke the World Indoor records in 2002 and 2011, David Barns and Alec Pots, 584 and 585 respectively. The current World Record stands at 594 for an 18m 600 round. Those are huge scores, but James seems to be on a path to achieve similar levels of mastery. I wish him well. I hope I cross paths one day on a shooting line somewhere in the world.
I am concerned about the coaching he is under. Adversives, whether in the form of punishment for performance or withholding opportunities, are such ineffective techniques and can harm archers on many levels with no positive outcomes. Given the mental pressures in archery, this will just manifest in conditions like target panic. This is such a well studied topic in sports psychology the fact we find these attitudes in coaches today is disturbing.
Also, I am not sure about the dismissal of video games. Esports, as they are known, are not only highly competitive, they have prizes in the millions. I wish archery gave a fraction of that level of support.

James shoots at my club, so have witnessed his progress to now an elite standard & shooting amazing scores. He has been fortunate to have a keen archery family, with a father & sister both involved. It is amazing that he has not been tempted to shoot with a more expensive riser over the Chinese brand. Hey, so much for all this huge mass stabiliser weight that some seem to struggle with & insist on; James has only a few ozs.

For me started trad recurve with wood arrows moved onto platinum plus arrows have feathers batwings , now use vintage carbon 400 spin gold tip. Just brought black eagle vintage carbon 400 spine shooting at 30 yards , last wednesday new club shooting at 40 yards. But have swapped over to 80 inch longbow/warbow with carbons instead of wood but with all my arrows like feathers to plastic vines. I like to fletch my own arrows.

Depending on the size of your serving material also that you use on your string let's say you use a 10,000 on the serving to fit your knob because you're running 24 strand I don't know if it's the same on recurve or not but let's say 14,000 on 24th okay well I might use 28 strands and run 10,000 I have found that how tight or how loose the knock is on that string does affect but also if you do use 10,000 you're going to have to use something like 14 or 16,000 to tie your soft nocking points otherwise it's just going to like tie right through it will go down and into the other serving also if you are doing it like the shoe laces go through one more time so instead of just one through the circle go through twice and then pull it tight that will cover exactly half of the strength and then the one on the back will cover the other half I have found just one wrap and then pull down don't cover the string all the way around in a perfect half circle I don't know if that makes any sense

I noticed that this young archer has a divergent gaze. This might help with aiming.

Tried to listen to this video as I was very interested in hearing what James had to say. Sadly I had to give up as the background noise makes it very difficult to hear whats being said!

    Great content Steve.
He has a very eclectic setup (makes me feel a whole lot better about some of my bows). 😂

Didn’t Jordan Peterson get deregistered as a psychologist? Something about disrepute to the profession?

No-one thinks that was anything other than Trudeau's totalitarian government silencing his critics - like he froze the bank accounts of truckers and people who supported them at the protest.

I think this happened because of some comments he made in an interview in the US. It wasn't any sort of egregious/insulting comment but it didn't align with the woke movement.
He basically got cancelled so hard it impacted his work.

J.P. was probably being factual than full of b.s. Similarly many medicinal doctors etc. are losing their licences, because they won't bow down to the lies that have been pushed by politicians etc.
