  • This DIM DIY How to is the 3rd video of 3. In this video we continue converting our 2001 Dodge Dakota 2 wheel drive 46re for heavy duty 4x4 use. We go over building an aluminum adapter plate to mate it to a Dana 300 for less than $45. We modify the input shaft on the Dana 300 to allow it to bolt onto a stock 46RE extension housing. The final product will go into a 1980 Scout II.
** Modifications to the Dana Include **
    Cutting down the input shaft
    Shortening the input shaft housing
    Aluminum brazing input housing
Converting to all studs for mounting
Changing to a different oil seal on housing
Please leave questions or suggestions in comments. Give us a thumbs up or subscribe to get a heads up on our other DIM DIY How To's. Thanks.
