    This build is a great example of how important friendship is in the car community. Even when things don’t go to plan and you blow your ECU, and it’s sitting on jacks and you’re wondering why you even started in the first place, having close mates by your side that are willing to wrench on something they might not particularly like, or a car that feels cursed with every possible inconvenience, those friends are worth every cent you poured into the car. There is nothing like a Davo or turbo yoda or issac in your life. Those are the guys you’ve gotta look out for, because their presence in your lives will be truely missed if one day they’re not there. I love how the boys support reach out, it’s really awesome to see positive role models in the car community that aren’t just buying lambos and driving them in a paddock. The fact that this car exists is what makes the car community great. All the people from literally around the world that made this thing happen is awesome.

    Hi, I’m from Portugal and I drive a Seat Ibiza 1.0 TSI with 170hp (the same engine as the VW Up). No one expected this car to be so fast, and it’s amazing how such a small engine can handle it! The turbo has been hybridized, on the intake side. I’ve followed every episode of this series and absolutely loved it. I’ve also been following this channel for many years and always enjoy the content. Keep up the great work!

      Hey I'm also from Portugal I have an Audi A1 with the same 1.0 tsi engine, where did you make the upgrade and how much did they charge you? Also is that the only mod you've done to it? I'm currently making 140hp/235nm with 98 gasoline, forge intake, downpipe, and full 63mm custom exhaust. But I'm currently looking to do more. A lot of guys in brazil push this engine really hard, however I've heard some of them say that above 260nm you should swap the connecting rods to forged ones, did you swap them?

    • @LeftLaneLooney
      @LeftLaneLooney 15 днів тому +1

      Don't you fear that if you push a 1.0 3-pot to a 170hp you will shorten its lifespan to a third?
      I mean... Back before the EU pushed all the eco laws and car manufacturers could fit whatever engine they wanted with 2.0 4-pots as standard and the more luxury variants with a 3.2 V6 of even a 4.2 V8, cars could manage 600.000 km easy without even trying. Some rare examples even made is to a million k's. I always have the fear with these eco hamster treadmills that they're worn out a 150.000 k's.
      Greetings from the Netherlands and my 2008 Audi 1.4 TFSI (130hp) with 255.000 on the clock and still going strong. Not the fastest car on the planet, but for the crowded with idiots Dutch roads more than enough. Although I do admit that I would have liked a tat more power. 100hp per ton is my rule for bare minimum and the Audi weighs 1300 kilo's.

    • @Lothyde
      @Lothyde 15 днів тому +1

      @@LeftLaneLooney These 1.0 can take a beating, its only weakness is the connecting rods, swap those out and it can handle 300hp. Search for "UP stage 4" here on UA-cam, lots of Brazilian guys do this.

    Fair enough if its worth it for mightcarmods but for $50,000.... gets you a 2020-2024 Suzuki Swift Sport (zc33s) for $25,000-$35,000. Same platform car as the up!, 1.4 turbocharged direct injection with a 6 speed manual that also weighs under a ton. Add a tune for a $1000 that gains the same power as the tuned up!... You still pocket $20,000 basically.
    Mind you factory tunes side by side the swift is a tad faster as well.
    I completely get it's unique in Australia but that does not mean its ever gonna be worth that much.
    Moog it was so unfortunate you chose to sell the older gen swift sport you had. Would of been 2 perfect cars to compare.

    One thing to note - RacingLine makes two types of pod filter: foam and pleated cotton. Unfortunately, foam mesh is not that durable so better check it from time to time Moog!

    Well done with your turbo build, love it/want it! I have the 4 door lux version Up with upgraded trim, cruise and fog lamp extras. I fitted the same ROH wheels except in gunmetal grey, lowering springs by Eibach, front slotted discs by Vmax, free flow exhaust, headlight globe upgrade for country driving, full window tint and blue tooth sound system. It looks great in the factory navy blue metallic duco, sounds cool, rides well, handles like a go kart and cruises the motorway at 110+ klm/hr no problems. Keeping it in the sweet spot, not thrashing it brings out its best.

    i miss my old up pepper (the up gti from southamerica without the 6 speed but a 5 speed instead). Had a 1.4tsi turbo swap, full exhaust, intake and 175hp (about 130kw). On that little car i gave stock mk7 golf GTI a run for it´s money.

    • @Garcheezy
      @Garcheezy 17 днів тому +1

      @@ferrumignis you have to make a custom turbo inlet since it is quite different from the stock one. I made it with 2,5" inox tube and i powder coated it. Both turbos use a electronic wastegate and use the exact same connector. You just need a good tuner since it needs quite a bit of tinkering to make it smooth.

    There should be a t-shirt that goes "Little Car, Big Heart" with the up, or some kind of a oversized turbo next to it.
    Little cars for the win, I had a 2001 SLK230 Kompressor, 6-speed manual (kinda rare in the states) no one wants these things but they are great. Little 4 banger supercharged motor under the hood, with a Hardtop (its a roadster), and I heard even the auto trans with the slapstick (post 2001 model years) can take a decent amount of power.
    I sold mine as I got it to learn a bit on it, so I sold it off. I do miss it tho. It was fun. You were literally sitting right in front of the rear wheels. And it is a RWD car. People also get rid of the supercharger and slap a turbo on there instead.
