I know you've covered a lot of Santiago's films over the years and it's clear you hold him in high regard, but just the inflection in your voice at the end when you said, "He definitely delivered", really brings it home just how much you respect the man. Aside from the massive effort you must put into these film with research and editing, it is the little things like how you speak about these films that really make this channel as good as it is. Even if we can't quite put our finger on it while watching, your enthusiasm and dedication, especially to Santiago films, really shines through. Thank you, Cecil!
*2019 After the Fall of New York* is my fave - it's like Mad Max 2 / Flash Gordon / Planet of the Apes + a big ball of B Movie cheez! \o/ *Cherry 2000* is also ace! XD
when i heard 80's Filipino post apocalyptic movie i knew you would be smiling so hard we could hear it in your voice. that and a lot of people would flirt with serious injury.
The day this was uploaded a stumbled across a copy of this randomly in a store, but didn’t pick it up because I wasn’t sure about it. Come home and find this video. Needless to say, I went back today and picked it up. Keep up the great work man!
Thanks for this tribute to Santiago. You and I have similar tastes, I love these Filipino post-nuke flicks! I also dig Santiago's Namsploitation movies. Keep up the great work.
Yet another Cirio H. Santiago post apocalyptic classic!! This guy was the king of cheesy, but awesome post apocalyptic flicks! LMFAO, he was also the king of making the Philippines look like a deserted wasteland!! Thanks so much for introducing me to the late great Mr. Santiago, Cecil! 😁
Glad to see your channel doing so well. I remember when you were at like 20k and I drew you a Angry Orange Cat picture when I btoke my ankle and you liked it. Fun times.
Knowing how much you love Post-Apocolyptia, I've always wanted you to review WORLD GONE WILD from 1987 staring Bruce Dern and Adam Ant. A great relic of my childhood.
Santiago made some of my favorite movies of all time. The man was a genius in his way. I didn't know Wynorski, was kind of his protege. That is even cooler because Jim has made several other movies I loved as a kid. Growing up in the 80's was great.
That soundtrack part at around 2 minutes was hilarious! I literally choked on my lasagna but recovered. Thanks for the near-death experience, Cecil. LMAO!
oh man i have not thought of this film in YEARS. When i used to run a theater down the jersey shore we got tipped off to film depot in Camden Nj closing and they were dumping film cans. so my assistant manager raced north. loaded up his truck with film cans. some were marked some not. we went through all the reels and found a buncha weirdo prints. one being STRYKER. at end of that summer the staff and i loaded up on booze and food and ran an over night grindhouse fest. I miss those days. 35mm is dead. I sold off all my prints and trailers. now when we do stuff like this at my theater in Wayne Pa we run blu or dvd
Na that bad guy looks like JK Simmons, Ben Kingsly & F Murray Abraham all walked into a teleporter accidentally at the same time and came out as 1 single person.
So that's why I remember seeing those quirks before. Ahh Filipino movies, yup my country be great at those quirky sounds. That "who's your friend" bit might be a jab at how we Filipinos speak English before with very high tones.....maybe.
Tristan Lucena Was a hack for hire but theres no denying there was talent behind the camera. Wonder what he'd of been capable of with a half decent budget...script...and a producer to keep a rein on the madness.
Chopping Mall is the cheesiest of cheesefests but fuck is it entertaining. They were supposed to be making a remake a few years back but It's since gone quiet....Might just be the job for Cecil the great to do one of his "exploring" videos on (hint hint)
ah the 1980s, remember Steel Dawn, Cherry 2000, Slipstream, World Gone Wild, Critters, Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone, Metalstorm: The Destruction of Jared-Syn, Trancers, The Keep, Ice Pirates?
I've watched dozens of your videos , and probably will never watch any of the movies reviewed. Notification comes up. Oh boy another Good Bad Flicks Review!
Cirio Santiago was legend. RIP Sir. Stryker was worthy of his legacy. Let's be honest, 80s action was action, and babes and big hair. Nut it was really fun.
Thanks for making my Monday! I wanted to watch this movie like a week ago and could of sworn you had already reviewed it so I wanted to watch your review before the movie itself. I ended up watching the movie first but I love watching your reviews with all the research and riffs, much appreciated!
This reminds me of so many of the post apocalyptic movies you've reviewed. Like, it reminds me of so many movies that I feel like I've watched this video before.
i don't know why this was so funny, i was taking a drink of my iced tea and then this scene happened... 4:39 ...i was looking right at my phone, saw girl snap like a glow stick , i spit out my drink and i was left with a phone drenched in tea. Thx Cecile.
Water Wars actually got a dvd (and maybe a cd too If I remember correctly) release in thailand. at first I was kinda confused to why there seems to be none of other copies release anywhere, now I know why. the picture that you use when talking about the movie is the cover of the thai dvd version.
I used ta watch movies like this on USA up all nite with gilbert gottfried and rhonda sheer. Also billy bobs drive in. We still got Svenghouli on saturdays doing old black n white monster movies.
Holy crap, looks like the band Six Feet Under used the skull from The Haunting of Morella for their debut album Haunted. I had no idea that art had previously been used.
this one reminds me of a movie im looking for, i don't remember what's the name it's a combination of post apocalyptic with water theme, & the magnificent seven, one scene i recall it's about the main character entrance he came walking from nowhere and then with his staff take a wheel cap and throw it to a goon's troat(sorry for my bad english)
Could you do a review of the 90's Dark Castle films like House on Haunted Hill, 13 Ghosts and Ghost Ship? For some reason I've been wondering if those films were all that bad. I haven't seen them in a long long time but remembered the endings of them being very crappy.
I know you've covered a lot of Santiago's films over the years and it's clear you hold him in high regard, but just the inflection in your voice at the end when you said, "He definitely delivered", really brings it home just how much you respect the man. Each time I think I've run out of 1980s cheese this channel proves me wrong.
I have a near endless supply.
The Road Warrior must be one of the most imitated movies of all time.
It most certainly is.
That or the Seven Samurai.
not to mention, the first 3 "Mad Max" films was what later became the inspiration for the IdSoftware game titled "RAGE"
Defo. Remember the video store racks groaning with these knock offs. Knew what i was getting into but the cover art was so damn tempting.
*2019 After the Fall of New York* is my fave - it's like Mad Max 2 / Flash Gordon / Planet of the Apes + a big ball of B Movie cheez! \o/
*Cherry 2000* is also ace! XD
It takes a real special individual to make people look forward to monday 👽
:)

Keep up the great work man!
I never grow tired of these Santiago movies
You gotta review People under the stairs bro!! 😆 great review as usual.
Radical Reggie Great Idea!
Radical Reggie I didn't know you watched this channel lol that's awesome!
I requested that one before & Cecil said that it was definitely on the list. Can't wait! 😄
BTW, the main bad guy in this movie looks like a cross between Ming and Sid Haig.
Yesss!!! Do it Cecil!!! That movie creeped me out beyond anything as a kid!
You do Santiago so much justice. I know he's looking down on us smiling... making movies in the big Philippines in the sky. :D
I sure hope so. :)
"The triple-cut kiss! They usually save that for explosions!"
Cecil at the heights of his riffing :D
DesignatedMember
That kiss is their emphasis
Its a unwriten rule in these films that boys have guns and
girls have bows.

Thanks for this tribute to Santiago. You and I have similar tastes, I love these Filipino post-nuke flicks! I also dig Santiago's Namsploitation movies. Keep up the great work.
I would like to see Traxx and Stryker team up! I love this channel thanks man---
Love having my lunch hour watching your videos
That ending was like Holes and Children of Men. I definitely have to see this one.
I had to pause the video after the quip about the soundtrack guy giving up. Couldn't stop giggling like an idiot.
Haha. Me too. Still laughing.

I haven't watched a video from you in 6 months. Boy, have I been missing out! Great job!
Knowing how much you love Post-Apocolyptia, I've always wanted you to review WORLD GONE WILD from 1987 staring Bruce Dern and Adam Ant. A great relic of my childhood.
Probably one of your best review/episode. Great job as usual.

Santiago made some of my favorite movies of all time. The man was a genius in his way. I didn't know Wynorski, was kind of his protege. That is even cooler because Jim has made several other movies I loved as a kid. Growing up in the 80's was great.
I am glad that your channel is different from the the others.
Thanks!
Came across your channel recently. Gotta admit, I'm hooked already.
That soundtrack part at around 2 minutes was hilarious! I literally choked on my lasagna but recovered. Thanks for the near-death experience, Cecil. LMAO!

Never stop making these!!!
You should review "Dog Soldiers" if you haven't yet.

Your channel has made me discover movies that I would have never known about that I ended up loving. I think I will love this one. I love B movies.
Oh Cecil, you are too good!
Thanks!
When the bad Guy startet with "Thunder one, Thunder two..." i was waiting for a Thundercats-Joke.. wasn´t disappointed.. good one :)
So that's why I remember seeing those quirks before. Ahh Filipino movies, yup my country be great at those quirky sounds. That "who's your friend" bit might be a jab at how we Filipinos speak English before with very high tones.....maybe.
Santiago was a real Master of his craft.
Tristan Lucena Was a hack for hire but theres no denying there was talent behind the camera. Wonder what he'd of been capable of with a half decent budget...script...and a producer to keep a rein on the madness.
I feel like this is the story I would make up playing with toys in the backyard after watching Road Warrior as a little boy.
Love these mad max-esque movies you review. Keep up the great work!
A gritty tale of a land where it hasn't rained for a while.
At least a week.
"Hot dog is not a sandwich."
I think I want to marry you.
Another great review! Great work!
You were very inspired on this one. Great video!
Great video, love the Thundercats reference!
Bandit! (bang) pom pom po pom waaaah! You are truly funny man. Kudos!
(10:27) I want to know what movie those robots behind him are from! :P They look pretty cool! :)
Killbots which was later renamed Chopping Mall
Yepp, they're from Chopping Mall. Featuring none other than Mr. Deathstalker Too.
Thanks, guys! :) I'm going to have to check that one out! :)
Chopping Mall is the cheesiest of cheesefests but fuck is it entertaining. They were supposed to be making a remake a few years back but It's since gone quiet....Might just be the job for Cecil the great to do one of his "exploring" videos on (hint hint)

This guy's commentary in this video is absolutely hilarious!!
ah the 1980s, remember Steel Dawn, Cherry 2000, Slipstream, World Gone Wild, Critters, Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone, Metalstorm: The Destruction of Jared-Syn, Trancers, The Keep, Ice Pirates?
Oh, Santiago, you magnificent bastard!
I've watched dozens of your videos , and probably will never watch any of the movies reviewed. Notification comes up. Oh boy another Good Bad Flicks Review!

Great review man! Great as always! : )
It's Mad Minimum
26 seconds after posting. Thats how quick i clicked.
I guess you learn something new every day. I had no idea there were dessert areas in the Philippines.
This reminds me of so many of the post apocalyptic movies you've reviewed. Like, it reminds me of so many movies that I feel like I've watched this video before.
These films look like a real life cinematic play by play when I'd play with action figures as a kid.
you should check out The Lost Continent. the Hammer films one from 1968
Why?
Another great vid Cecil. You sure know how to pick 'em LOL
I shouldve seen that Dune reference coming 😂👌
i don't know why this was so funny, i was taking a drink of my iced tea and then this scene happened...
4:39

Now I am obsessed with this movie
the Spice...er....Water must flow!
I gotta watch this one.
Excellent video Cecil can you please review The Challenge from 1982 staring Scott Glenn and Toshiro Mifune?
Hey! Who's your friend?
I love this movie! Haven’t seen it in forever!
I agree with the soundtrack guy giving up. "You know what? Fuck it."
Santiago was a talented guy. Great review. Keep the puppet master reviews coming. I’m curious on your take in the Axis series.
You get a like for that 'nineteen dickety two' quote.
are you going to do the sword and the sorcerer
”Matt painting city” 😂😂 Run by Immortan Bob Ross.
Holy shit! That poster is almost exactly like the Megaman box art 😂
Whoever controls the water ,doesnt have to pee
I used ta watch movies like this on USA up all nite with gilbert gottfried and rhonda sheer. Also billy bobs drive in. We still got Svenghouli on saturdays doing old black n white monster movies.

Didn't see this movie on your wish list but it deserves a viewing: Star Crash
Another great review! Also a nice tribute to Santiago. Also a hot dog IS a sandwich !!
I remember seeing the hot movie poster for the film at a local dollar cinema back in the early 80's, but never getting to see the actual film.
It's already been decided that a hot dog is a taco.
Whoever controls the cats, controls Good Bad Flicks.
:)
Could you do a review of the 90's Dark Castle films like House on Haunted Hill, 13 Ghosts and Ghost Ship? For some reason I've been wondering if those films were all that bad. I haven't seen them in a long long time but remembered the endings of them being very crappy.
That pose for the guy on the cover looks the exact same as Bad Cover Art Megaman!
"Hey! Who's your friend?"
looks amazing
No Name Guy and No Name Girl...
Still a better love story that Twilight.
So it turns out that Rain was the real hero of the movie😉 best twist ever!!😎
