Thanka for the video. I have the same setup as you. Mingle foam cannon, Harbor Freight power washer and the Chemical Guys honeydew snow wash. I'm ordering the 1.1 tip now.
Cool video! Thanks for posting!! From what I've seen of the snow foams from Chemical Guys, none of them foam that well. You may have to add more of the snow foam to the foam cannon to get more foam. Still, it was a good tutorial on how to change the orifice to a 1.1 mm. The time you took to make and post the video is MUCH appreciated!!
I have the same foam cannon and it’s great. I get almost an inch of foam, and I only use Meguires Gold Class 100ml and 900ml of warm water. You need to turn the dial all the way to the ‘-‘ setting not the ‘+’ setting as it means -/+ water, not soap. If you are going to change the orifice, make sure you know the pressure rating for your hose and foam cannon. Sadly they raised the price of the cannon to $40
One thing that rarely gets mentioned is water hardness. If you have a lot of calcium and/or magnesium in your city water you won't get the same foam as with soft water. a TDS meter alone will not help determine this you need to use a water hardness test kit. Anything approaching 50ppm (ppm of hardness, not total ppm) it's likely going to prove disappointing. I just got a whole house softener which although doesn't affect overall TDS it exchanges hard water ions like Calcium and Magnesuim with salt and now my foam cannon launches shaving cream. I even went back and connected my PW to a non-softened spigot and instantly back to light drippy foam. The difference is amazing.
So i got the Harbor Freight foam cannon, however i can not for the life of me get the quick disconnect off to access the orifice. Never used it yet, any other tips? Can i spray something like WD-40 or PB Blaster? I haven't put it in a vice yet for more leverage but I CAN NOT get this thing off!!!
haha I had the same issue just a bit ago. I just step on the damn thing over a wooden cube for exercising and finally broke it loose. I didn’t imagine it would require such torque since it uses an o ring. Got it to work but just crazy.
Thanks for the video. I have that foam cannon and will have the same setup with the harbor freight pressure washer. I was contemplating would it be worth it to change the orifice but you answered all of my questions. Again thank you.
Foam isn’t the only issue, smaller office means higher pressure and greater amp draw. On many pressure washers you can damage them and pop circuit breakers by pulling more than a std 15 amp circuit can handle. It’s why Active ships their 2.3 model with a 1.45mm orifice to maintain less than a 15 amp draw. Still getting 1000 psi and 2 gallons per minute which is great for car use applications.
thanks brother! great video! I think you deserve a sub. :) thanks again for the informative video! I've already placed my amazon order for the upgrade parts :)
Are you using a good foaming soap? I.e. Mr Pink or Adams mega foam Or maybe replace the foaming filter, like shown in this video that came with his 1.1 orifice
Sorry, I didn't see much of a difference in your test. I think the purpose of different orifice sizes is to make up for differing water pressures, depending on the type of power washer you have. I just picked up a Harbor Freight foam cannon (looks identical to yours), and it came with an extra orifice. No instructions whatsoever but on the box it says it comes with two orifices - one 1.2mm for gas powered pressure washers and one 1.1mm orifice for electric.
The 1.1mm has 16% less area. Using a smaller orifice will increase pressure while reducing water flow, which will give a thicker foam. But it’s not a huge difference. Also, if his original orifice was dirty, it might have been restricted making it even less of a difference.
You sir have a wonderful car! Tesla gang let's go!!! Upgrade to the mega foam from Adams and the foam Cannon from adams and I promise you, you'll live in thick foam cloud!!!!
I have an Astro Ai Foam cannon and I'm just not able to loosen the inside flat head screw. I have tried and I've stripped the screw but it won't budge. Anyone knows what to do?
Test should be done on vertical parts like doors, so we could see how well the foamnsticks to them, for sure not on front window ... and don't use a white car for it
When to use the 1.1mm orifice nozzle?I Other brands/canon's foam ability is different from The (MJJC BEST CANON) Others/Cheaper Canon's kneed a 1.1mm orifice to make good foam. However, a 1.1mm orifice (May harm your pressure washer) if the psi output it is over (1700psi). That’s why cannons with high foam performance (MJJC BEST CANON) Just use/kneed a 1.25mm orifice nozzle not a 1.1mm Orifice Another words it is all about the Power washer output GPM and Psi So in conclusion Be careful when using a 1.1mm Orifice Tip

I have the mjjc foam cannon with a 1.1 orifice and it shoots out super thick foam
Nice! I’ve since increased my soap ratio and gotten better results too.
the mjjc foam cannon is just an aliexpress one with a sticker on it and sold for 10x the price
@@freshsquiizedwhat’s the soap ratio now

Same here that thing is on there
Same for me. The struggle is real. Lol
@@justaguyokay WD-40 worked to get it off i think there’s no other way
I had to heat it up. I used my propane torch for a few seconds. Came off super easy.

Nice! I’m glad the video could help.
I’ve just orderd a 1.1mm one 2.50 pound so around 3 dollars hopefully it makes a difference
What's your verdict?

Will this work on a 1.1 GPM pressure washer? Wish he had said which pressure washer he had used
Do you run out of soap faster ? Or does it last longer?
It should last longer because a smaller orifice increases pressure and decreases gallon output .

I agree @Alex Mitakidis. I have really hard water so I have to either treat the water or use more soap in my cannon.
Any idea what size the original orifice size was?
1.25
My harbor freight foam Cannon came with a 1.1 orifice and a 1.2 orifice.
So we just forgot about that mesh thing?
yes
The test is that it drips slower which means it is thicker and cleans better!
Thanks you for the review. Appreciate it.
Glad it was helpful!
mine doesnt have a flat head groove to remove it
What's the other wee wirey looking thing in the packet for?
It is a filter that sits further in the barrel

Where can I order this from?
Thanks man, you convinced me and I’ll swap to a 1.1. 😎
For sure! The 1.1 makes a big difference. I also just started using a little more soap.
I tried taking the orifice out, ended up stripping it so I can’t replace it anymore
Good morning how can I get that additional part
amazon
Check the description. The link should be there. Cheers

did you manage to know how to loosen it?
what water pressure do you got?
I wish I could tell you. But I do know that it isn’t particularly strong.
$7 on Amazon?! It's like a dollar here in my country PH.
Great video, and advice for everyone. Why waste that stuff on that pile of junk car??? 😎
