If you have an active id go with the active for the cohesiveness, but the mjjc seemed like its got slightly better foam especially when using it on a ryobi with the 1.1
Thanks for watching Josh! Agreed, and I do run an active 2.0 but I still kept the 1.25 in because all my others are 1.25 and for my actual flow that makes sense. Hey bro, on the DIY soap, I found an extra capful in the cannon does the snow thing. That said, I like the consistency you have and that’s how I make it. When doing it pre-wash (no contact) rinse though, I mix it 32:1 in a foam pro 12 sprayer. It’s quite powerful and looks like the more traditional thing people like. I live in Florida, so if the sun is coming up and I do the foaming process too thick, it easily can dry that way, so I like it more loose. Thank you for the video.

Great video. The group chat went bananas on foam cannons today. In the end it’s a foam cannon and it foams. Checks all the boxes regardless if it’s the best or not. It’s personal preference. Now I will say it’s one of the best looking foam cannons.
Ya I agree with the incredible suds. Any time I use it now I just wing it and pour straight into my foam cannon with water already in it. I have the MTM without the wide mouth as well as an extra bottle I purchased with the cap so I’ve been trying to decide whether I just buy the new wide mouth adapter kit or look into buying an MJJC,Boss or now this active cannon. One thing I really don’t like about the MTM is how easy it is to adjust the foam pattern and I feel everyone that starts spraying it, it’s always somehow on the wrong setting lol. MJJC and Active definitely look the best though and I appreciate the weighted straw. I wonder why they decided to go with full threads unlike the MJJC half turn but looks like a great cannon nonetheless.
@@BreezeMW agreed on the MTM if you breath on it the spray pattern gets messed up. I need to use the active more but overall, appearance and performance are great. MJJC is nice but I I think I’d like the pro v2 which is just a shorter bottle and same head according to Josh V. Griots metering tip is truly special though….and the lifetime warranty as well is hard to beat. If you buy the active or MJJC and in a year you drop it or it just fails you’re out $85. Food for thought
@ ya although I’m all about things looking pretty I think you just can’t go wrong with the Griots and the metering tips are intriguing considering I’m not the biggest fan of diluting stuff
The hole on the lid is there to keep the bottle from imploding due to the suctioning of the soap. You want to replace the soap with air as you siphon the soap into the foam cannon.
To get the most foam out of a cannon, you also need to match the jet inside the cannon to the GPM of the pressure washer. So hopefully the new cannon comes with more than one size jet to choose.
Question for you. Tangentially related to soap. Many UA-camrs will talk about ceramic coating, sealants, etc. They test them with chemicals from Ph 2-14, throw iron removers, APCs, bug and tar removers, even wheel and tire cleaners and will tout their effectiveness, but EVERYONE says the one thing you shouldn't do is NEVER EVER let car soap dry on your car. WTFO?!!! It isn't such a big issue now but I live outside Phoenix, and I wash at 0600 in the summer and it is still a challenge.
@@seegarsmkr agreed I’m in Phoenix…I know how it goes washing out of the sun. Most soaps will still rinse if it dries within a few minutes but obviously I avoid it. Actually, I bought more of Pan’s soap because you can wash in the sun. I tried it and it rinsed off no problem. Highly recommend if you must wash in the sun.
@@FineDetailingAZ I do wash in the shade as much as possible, and don't let the soap dry. I just thing it a bit disingenuous to tout the properties against all the harsh chemicals, but not against Ph neutral soap in the sun or which may dry.
i think you should re-do this video with a soap that you are familiar with along with its dilutions. Why? Because if you're testing, you should be sure of your controls and your factors. I think you should go with GSF with 1 oz per 500ML. or even with Incredible Suds. I'd def tune in to another video if you did it. Why? Because the UA-cam audience loves foam so it was a bit underwhelming to see all the results with the running foam. But overall, great video Mr. PalmTrees!
@@jefferrrson1x thanks for watching . My controls were all on par in my opinion. Having experience with a soap doesn’t really matter since I followed the manufacturers instructions for dilution ratio. I used exactly .5oz in 500mL of water. All orafices were a 1.25 as well. I also have 650 TDS so that can affect the foam well. GSF is recommended at 20 mL per liter of water so using 30mL for 500mL would of course produce massive amounts of foam. I appreciate your input but I did want to provide a real world test that represented my conditions.
@@RhinestoneRhino thanks for watching. I was trying to follow manufacturer instructions. I wanted to see how it performed without manipulating the soap and over adding. I know any cannon will foam well with enough soap.
@@btbd2785 it wasn’t from the oring on the threads it was coming out of the top of the neck…I brought it close to the camera. Wasn’t an irony to adjust there
This what I read on the site.."Add 1 -2 oz(30-60 ml) to your foam gun/cannon and fill it with water. Adjust the soap/water mixture to achieve the desired effect." So I went with the 1oz option then halved it. We still saw a subtle difference so hopefully it was still helpful for some. Another UA-camr also had trouble getting it foam without overloading it with soap. I do have a business so staying cost effective is also top of mind. What was on the surface was perfect for washing. Shaving cream just get clicks haha.
@@FineDetailingAZ I agree with you on how you calculated the ratio, and that is definitely sufficient for washing. I'm just saying they have said in multiple videos the 2 oz to the full canon or 1 oz to 1/2 canon is the ratio designed for high foam production. Also, when you think about it the Griots metering straw uses a lot more product if it is pulling a 1:10 ratio. That would be over 1.5 oz in a 1/2 canon
@@skrsys totally I plan to make separate video to how much product the metering tips use. That’s why I did apples to apples with normal dilutions. To be honest I filled up my cannon with 1000ml of GSF and it’s lasted me months and i wash my personal cars once a week. Griots soaps are thinner and GSF is thicker so I’d like to do a test of how much I actually use per car. Last thing, I know DIY says a lot of stuff in videos but if I’m an average consumer I’m going on the site/scanning the QR code and following the instructions. If that’s what they said on UA-cam then they should add it to the website. Not arguing with you by the way just offering my opinion.
@@korierm74 thanks for watching. All of the orafices are 1.25. The pressure washer is an Active 2.0. I have tested the active with a foam cannon and in order to stay under 15 amps a 1.25 is the orafice size I need.
@FineDetailingAZ OK. Thanks for replying. They were all fairly runny, which makes me wonder the difference as I have seen other test where these cannons worked better than this.
@ for sure, I used 1/2 oz of soap with 500ml of water. I also have 650 TDS so that likely impacted it. In my conditions I made it as even as possible by following manufacturer instructions for dilutions. I didn’t want to do a test with like 100ml of soap because that would have been a bit overkill.
Great comparison! Looks like a solid offering from Active and if you were in the market for a new foam cannon it’s definitely one to consider. Though no need to rush out if you have one of the others you compared.
A scale is interesting I might look into that but also the soap I used was thicker then what I normally use. Normally it's no problem and nothing is left in the cup. Thank you for watching
I see that black and orange reference on the video preview picture haha! Also I’ll send some grape smelling air fresheners your way😂 Thanks for show casing my tip holder! One thing does the mtm eat up solution like the mjjc? Also gotta pick up one of those griots foam cannons mainly for their customer service and I totally forgot about that super cool metering tip so you don’t have to waste time diluting. Reminder for any customers MAD Car Care is Veteran owned 🇺🇸 and made in USA!

To be fair, I do have 650 TDS I know that does impact things. Then again, you saw how much GSF foamed with the metering tip. I should have just done an OZ per canon but I still think we were able to see the difference....I hope.
Bruh.... The Active matches your ride. Darth Foam Cannon. The leaks are from air ports. It needs to suck in air to foam, or release air so it doesn't build up too high... i guess. Someone correct me if i'm wrong, i do radiation physics not engineering, lol
Darth foam cannon...hahaha. Per the website " In addition, the bottle is leak-free, with a 1000ml capacity, and comes with a flexible tube and stainless steel weight ball." It's fine, even the griots leaks a bit. Maybe they mean the screw on lid is leak free? That would be odd because every cannon is leak free at the thread. It always leaks at the sprayer.
@ yea, that’s kinda where I was going. But everyone likes a long list of features, right? Hey, I gave the KCX QS a full ride around the car, I see what you see. 48* outside, and not a glitch.
I don't think thicker is better, too thick and it just falls off the paint. I want it to dwell. Also, thanks? I was just trying to get it on the paint quickly for the video.

@ agreed dilutions get old
Awesome review. That Active wins on packaging even if nothing else.
Agreed loved how well every detail was thought out!
The hole on the lid is there to keep the bottle from imploding due to the suctioning of the soap.
You want to replace the soap with air as you siphon the soap into the foam cannon.
Thanks for watching!
To get the most foam out of a cannon, you also need to match the jet inside the cannon to the GPM of the pressure washer. So hopefully the new cannon comes with more than one size jet to choose.
@@Silver_1 it does! It comes with four orafices. I’ve calculated that I need 1.25 size and that’s what was in all of the cannons.
It’s a cool looking foam cannon for sure, love my MTM & then I have 2 “Sooprinse” $19 foam cannons from amazon that are awesome cannons for the price
@@RCdetails203 I’ve been eyeing the sooprinse just for the teal color lol
@ lol tru I’m a teal fan too
@@RCdetails203 I need it!
Challenge accepted! 😂 we will see. Nice video looks good. I still love my MJJC pro v2.
@@BXGreen_DrivewayDetails lol thanks Becca! Agreed MJJC is solid
I get what you were saying about it looking cast. I can't explain it either haha
@@RhinestoneRhino thanks! Yeah it’s not…bad looking but it’s not as refined? The griots finish is just cleaner looking
Mtm aka simba - so good and I think mjjc makes a amazing foam cannon
Thanks for watching brotha! MTM is so last year...MJJC slaps
@ mjjc slaps you ain’t lying
@ fair call out for sure.
Also Consider the filters in the cannons. One is new one is used. As the filters get used they create less foam.
@@Silver_1 agreed. The MTM and the MJJC were basically brand new and just replaced the griots filter last week. It felt very even to me.
i think you should re-do this video with a soap that you are familiar with along with its dilutions.
I personally think you should have put more incredible suds in the cannons.
@@RhinestoneRhino thanks for watching. I was trying to follow manufacturer instructions. I wanted to see how it performed without manipulating the soap and over adding. I know any cannon will foam well with enough soap.
Great video my dude!
Thanks brother!
The shiny new toy I want is right behind you! Are those aftermarket wheels? Did you spec the X5 with the 22’s and switch the wheels?
@@pklemm1 I did the 20’s no charge add on because I knew I’d be be putting on the 22 HRE wheels!
The leaking may be a result of the rubber seal not being seated.properly?
@@btbd2785 it wasn’t from the oring on the threads it was coming out of the top of the neck…I brought it close to the camera. Wasn’t an irony to adjust there
Eyyyyyyy I’m in mesa Az 😅 no wonder you detail at the crack of dawn lol gotta beat the heat 😂
@@bowman.e2104 haha yessir! You know the drill. Thanks for watching!
Are the orifice sizes identical on all the foam cannons? I ordered the Active a couple days ago. Looking forward to trying it out.
Thanks for watching! They are not, usually they come with a 1.1 or 1.25. I think they have some different sizes because they also have the Actvie 2.3.
Directions for incredible SUD’s state to use 1 to 2 ounces in the foam canon. The half ounce that you used just was not enough for good foam
@skrsys thanks for watching that’s intended for a full cannon so I it was cut in half .5oz for 500ml is the same thing as 1oz for a full cannon.
@ that’s true, but they do say 1 oz for adequate foam for cleaning, and 2 oz for thick rich foam.
I believe there was a difference in orifice size on the cannons making a lot of the difference that we saw. What pressure washer did you use here?
Thanks for watching Patrick! I agree really solid offering from Active. Nicely made.
You detailers need to use a scale to measure ounces versus using a measuring cup; no waste
A scale is interesting I might look into that but also the soap I used was thicker then what I normally use. Normally it's no problem and nothing is left in the cup. Thank you for watching
650 tds! i’m sorry for your loss man😂
hahaha tell me about it. I do have DI for final rinse thank god.

Thanks for show casing my tip holder! One thing does the mtm eat up solution like the mjjc? Also gotta pick up one of those griots foam cannons mainly for their customer service and I totally forgot about that super cool metering tip so you don’t have to waste time diluting.

Lol walter...
jesus comes first...it's okay.
My incredible suds foams way more than that 🧐
To be fair, I do have 650 TDS I know that does impact things.

@@bluearcherx it shouldn’t matter the experience I followed the manufacturer dilution instructions. Thanks for watching.

I don't think thicker is better, too thick and it just falls off the paint. I want it to dwell. Also, thanks? I was just trying to get it on the paint quickly for the video.

@@Pedroluvslupe wasn’t the best but I followed the instructions of the soap brand. When I used GSF with the metering tip much more foam
