PART 2 with MJJC Groits etc ua-cam.com/video/iTQDalUE5N0/v-deo.html NOTE: AstroAI Spec sheet says 1.25mm office installed, mine actually measured just over 1.mm multiple times. It's hard to say if mine was a defect, but others are saying they are getting similar results with low PSI/GPM pressure washers.
This is bar none the best review of products I have ever seen for any product on YT. You were clear and to the point. Provided guidance on features to look for included a detailed chart with comparative features. Outstanding job. Thank you.
I have had a $10 foam cannon from Amazon for about six years and I rinse it out after every use with clean water. It's still working fine. A foam cannon shouldn't cost upwards of $100 when they have the same amount of money in the design and materials as the $10 foam cannons. Think about that. Don't get me wrong, I do also have a Griot's Garage BOSS and Griot's Garage Brilliant Finish foam cannon and I love both of them. The BOSS is PRICEY but it adds the ability to use metering tips to draw chemical from 8, 16, and 32 oz bottles with the correct thread (which most have since it's a standard). I like being able to hook up my chemical bottle right to the cannon head and draw from the metering tips as it saves a bunch of product from waste typical with the bottles on the bottom of the foam cannon. You can also use the tips in the Brilliant Finish Foam Cannon but they need to be purchased from Griot's separately. The Brilliant Finish cannon is about half the cost of the BOSS and they perform almost identically. The issue with the bottle included with the cannon is you mix up your solution and then you don't use it all so you've then wasted product. The metering tips allows you to use exactly the amount you need and then clean out the foam cannon head with clear water and you are good to go for the next wash session. The $23 cannon you show here should give most enthusiasts all they will ever need. Just clean out your foam cannon with clear water after use and you should get years of service out of it. Don't get sucked up into the hype of needing thousands of dollars worth of pressure washer equipment and expensive tools and chemicals. There are MANY options out there that work just as well for much less money.
Thank you for this. Helped inform my purchase. I found that Tool Daily also carries an upgraded version of the base model you reviewed, fittings seem to be the all-brass of the base model, but bottle is plastic on plastic fitting with a wide mouth and wider base, still comes with extra nozzles, and what looks like the plastic adjustment shielding from the 1.5 liter model.
Thanks, Yeah I wanted something consistent. Yep I think the orfice size is something that is commonly overlooked, but defiantly impacts the performance. Also most won't need or have a gas pressure washer so having the right orfice is key.
You just saved me a lot of time and money watching your video. Thank you. I just purchased the number one pick AstroAI along with a set of 1.1 orifices.
My HF foam cannon came with a 1.1 orifice in the box. I had already ordered a set of 1.1 orifice from Amazon before I found out you can't change the one in the Armor All 2 in 1 foam cannon. Armor All makes a foam cannon, that doesn't have that switch on the side, that does have a orifice you can replace. The 2 in 1 that comes with the garden hose handle can not be replaced, it's just a ball valve with two different size holes controlled by the handle on the side. My HF foam cannon is working great after I installed the 1.1 orifice.
NOTE: AstroAI Spec sheet says 1.25mm office installed, mine actually measured just over 1.mm multiple times. It's hard to say if mine was a defect, but others are saying they are getting similar results with low PSI/GPM pressure washers.
Can confirm your’s is a fluke. Bought the AstroAI & mine came w/ a 1.25mm orifice. It doesn’t help that AstroAi Direct on Amazon is telling most people 1.1mm in the Q&A section, but then also says 1.25mm to some & the product came w/ a 1.25mm for me.

Great testing, great summary/ranking to make it more understandable rather than just showing the testing, and the detailed chart is also nice. Thank you!
Paid $15.00 each for a two-pack of the bigger bottle Tool Daily cannons, and they came with a little wash mitt along with the extra orifice and other bits. Really happy with them.
I watched this 3 times and have bookmarked it. Very thorough review and covers a range of price prices. Thanks for this, Liked & subscribed! Oh and I ordered the AstroAI!

The tool daily # 2 works good when you change the orific to a 1.1 foams like crazy, the only problem I have with them is the bottle is cheaply made and broke on me now I can’t find a replacement
Great comparison wanted to know. Can you use a hose set of on any of these? Or do you need to have the electric or gas pressure washer? And if you can use a hose Does it do a decent job
Thanks! all except for the armorall you will need a pressure washer. I couldn't get the armorall to work with or without a pressure washer. That being said others claim it works, but I can only speak from experience.
I can't seem to find a review for the Westinghouse: Pressure Washer Foam Cannon - 3600 PSI, 1/4 in. Connector, Model # PWFC, would you please do review of this product, I value you thoughts. Great video. Thanks
Why do you prefer plastic-on-plastic as opposed to brass-on-plastic? I'd think that brass is always desirable for longevity. Does it tear up the plastic jug's threads? Not a video topic I would have thought of, but thank you, as always! I don't really know anything about this product segment - it's actually something I was just telling myself a few days ago that I'd likely avoid DIYing most detailing work, but then, I'm debating if I shouldn't dismiss it so quickly, until I at least look at pricing on starter kit. This test certainly helped give me something to consider! Glad to see that a cheap tool gets the job done so well!
Paint and body work makes me nervous. Seems like a lot of complicated, touchy stuff, that's almost more art form and nuanced, rather than clear-cut and technical, the latter of which I'm more comfortable with. I certainly admire the work and setups at AMMO NYC and Obsessed Garage, but I'm really not sure how deep down those rabbit holes I want to play.
Yeah the plastic threads can get damaged screwing into brass, not a major deal if your careful. I had a few requests to do one last year, but I for the life of me couldn’t find the harbor freight version in stock until a few months ago. I agree, detailing and doing any kind of body work is a art. Definitely when it comes to paint matching. I watch obsessed garage, his ocd is crazy. I can’t ever seem to buy anything in perfect condition to start with lol. Yeah I was shocked the cheapest one 🏆, which I agree is a win.
You must try the Ridge Washer foam cannon - $20 and comes with a nice wash mit. Its the green label and comes with a 1.15 orifice. I'm getting amazing foam with the Ryobi 1800 psi electric pressure washer. I'm talking gas pressure washer - like foamage from this thing. Its a sleeper of a foam cannon.
Love your vids bro. I'm going with the AstroAI. Now, just need help finding a electric pressure washer that has the quick connects. Any ideas that can be under $200?
Can you use a 1.1 oriface safely with a gas pressure washer? I have an old(ish) craftsman that I would like to utilize and the AstroAi is looking like the ticket. Thanks!
using a 1.0 orifice will trip your breaker on your washer or your outlet unless you're running on a dedicated 20Amp circuit 1.0 orifice reached 17.4 amps using the Astro A.I. cannon. I swapped for a 1.1 and went down to 14.2 amps ..safe
I just purchased the Astro AI and it came with a 1.25 orifice installed. There wasn't another one to change it out to. I was disappointed because I went off your recommendation and it didn't come with a 1 like you said but a 1.25.
Maybe mine was an error, I know it measured 1.03mm with my gauges while the manual says 1.25. I will probably order another one next year and see if that one measures the same.
I have a maybe dumb question, but can the Astro be mounted to a karcher high pressure washer, or do I need to order an adapter for it? Thanks for letting me know
It's just some hydraulic fittings, a flow meter for water and a digital pressure gauge, with a MTM gun. That way I could get the GPM of the pressure washers and also working pressure at the same time using the same tip.
I have the MTM foam gun that I use with a gas powered 3300 psi pressure washer and it doesn’t foam like it should. It comes out too watered down. I’ve tried adjusting the foam gun and the psi on the pressure washer, but it didn’t help. Any thoughts?
I bought the Astro Ai one and changed to a 1.1mm orifice. I'm using Chemical Guys Mr. Pink. I'm still not getting really thick foam. Could my gas pressure washer be too powerful? 2200 to 2900 PSI and 2.3 GPM.
I don't think the pressure washer is too powerful. I would try a higher concentration of soap if you haven't already, maybe run strait soap and see how it performs. Also might turn the adjustment in the opposite direct and see if it changes anything. I remember some of the ones I test they seemed to be labeled wrong on the nob. If that dousing work maybe you received a defective one, with that flow and GPM you shouldn't have an issue.
Thank you for the amazing comparison and I will def buy the tool daily foam canon with my Ryobi 1.2 PW Electric . But can you suggest something affordable wand too sir? like the short Quick connect wand?
No problem! Wands I currently cant speak for, I only have the MTM. At some point I would like to review and test some but it will be a while before I can.
Thanks, no problem! Yeah I didn't know either until I started doing research on them. Interesting to see the difference with the electric pressure washer.
Great video! I think I'll pickup the new MTM Hydro foam cannon. I have the 1st gen version and used it for about 4- years, 100s of times. Best quality stuff you can get from MTM!
So if its being used on an electric pressure washer it will likely need the 1.1 so it foams vs runny suds, this is because most electric washers have a lower psi and gpm. I did look at the Active 2.0 pressure washer, looks like a sold unit. But hard to say performance wise without testing it. You might check out Obsessed Garage if u haven't already, Mike's testing is thorough. ua-cam.com/video/CVoQ5qyfxuw/v-deo.html
I ordered the AstroAI and it looks like it comes with a 1.25mm inner core diameter according to the manual. It works well with my electric Ryobi pressure washer regardless.
Nice, I'm actually shocked how well the cheap Ryobi did. At some point I would like to test electric pressure washers. How's your 30g doing? I'm almost at 500hrs.
@@marlondeere3039R Nice, yeah I agree AC could be better. I was going to look at adding some refrigerant but I haven’t had a chance to put gauges on it. No tractor kinda been a disaster, finally got the brake valve fixed. The dealer has been cycling through service mangers after the buyout. I think they are on #5 in two years… Deere never came out on changing the wiper and stuff but like a month or so after that call they stopped making the 5r. So yeah dealing with my dealer has been challenging to say the least. FYI I moved the outdoor videos to a new channel. Beaver Creek Acres
@Tools-Tested I owned 2 Ryobi electric PW and threw them away. Failing GFCI plug, Weak pump not keeping pressure, to full out failure. I just picked up the Chemical Guys PW. I hope this one lasts longer than 3 to 6 months like the ryobis.
This comment is for Tools Tested. The AstroAI guy I talked to on the phone read the manual and said the orfice size must be 1.25 and wondered where you got the 1.0 information.
Yes the book says 1.25, but mine was around 1.0. I used a drill hole sizing tool. Without ordering another one I can’t say If it was a error or if that’s how they all are coming now. But mine is definitely not a 1.25 or even a 1.1.
@@Tools-Tested WOW!! I believe it!! I actually bought the AstroAI after watching this. Just used it today a few hours ago and it is AMAZING FOR $23!!!!
I bought the Astro one and the same Ryobi electric pressure washer he uses here. I knew from day 1 that the orifice needed to be changed to a 1.1 in order to get the thicker foam. I did try with the original just for my own knowledge and yes, changing the the 1.1 made a the foam much thicker.
@@Tools-Tested "I was waiting for someone to catch that." That took long enough.🤣 I'm 81 so I can remember life before the ATF when things were a hell of a lot better. We were able to go to Sears, Wards hardware stores and the like or getting their catalogs and having things sent to our doorsteps. No one thought a thing about it. Every pickup truck in the high school parking lot had a rifle rack full in the back window. And we left the doors unlocked. 2A was just a part of life since I was 8 years old. how is the foam cannon?
My HF foam cannon came with a 1.1 orifice in the box. I had already ordered a set of 1.1 orifice from Amazon before I found out you can't change the one in the Armor All 2 in 1 foam cannon. Armor All makes a foam cannon, that doesn't have that switch on the side, that does have a orifice you can replace. thanks for the video. this was super helpful!
No problem! Glad it was helpful!
Is the 1.1mm office the way to go or
Yes typically it will produce better foam with the 1.1.
I just bought the AstroAI from your link, but unfortunately it came with a 1.25mm orifice. I'll just have to buy a 1.1mm.
That’s interesting see I bought mine from that link.
I have a Black&Decker 1300TD , I don’t know what fits it from snow foam bottles , can someone help ? 😢
Why is mine so runny. 1.1 value gas pressure washer 2900 psi. Chemical brother foam cannon.😢😢
Interesting maybe try different soap or high concentration of soap.
Only good multiple foam cannon comparison on UA-cam. Hope you do another thanks
Thanks! Hopefully part two will be out Sunday, took tomorrow off from work.
What one would you recommend for the ryobi 1800
AstroAI would be my pick.
9:55 You'll also need a tax stamp for that sbr conversion lmao
Your the first to comment on that lol.
@@Tools-Tested If you know, you know. Only 3% of us will get the joke.
I’m going to try the AstroAi. It’s on sale, so why not.
Good value for the $ IMO
@Tools Tested A good video this is,may I know if it's ok for you to review our foam cannon S V3.0?Thanks in advance!☺
Thanks! I bought the MJJC v3 a few months ago, just waiting on the weather to warm up.
So good dear@@Tools-Tested
What do you think about the blackline foam cannon?
Hard to say without testing it, and confirming what Orifice it has.
@@Tools-Tested thanks so much. I'll give it a try
can you please do best Presure washer short gun comparison video?
How do you feel about the overall durability of the ASTRO? I have 8 technician work vans to keep clean
Heavy use I would go with the MTM personally, Astro is more DIY.
But for the price the Astro might be worth a shot.
Thanks!
No problem!
Great stuff man, appreciate the video. And glad you brought up the orifice fact, had no idea that was a thing.
Thanks, no problem! Yeah I didn't know either until I started doing research on them. Interesting to see the difference with the electric pressure washer.
MJJC Foam Cannon OPTIMAL
Why didn’t you include the MJJC cannon
Was at my budget for the video, I will be testing the MJJC in round 2 once the weather clears hopefully in a month.
Great video!
I think I'll pickup the new MTM Hydro foam cannon. I have the 1st gen version and used it for about 4- years, 100s of times. Best quality stuff you can get from MTM!
Thanks! Yeah the bottle is defiantly a big improvement on the new MTM. Yep I agree 100% if your using it a lot, hard to beat MTM products!
Keep the old one and just buy a new bottle! They’re pretty much the same thing
@@magictoaster806 Wish I saw your comment before I got the new model! Basically are the same things but the bottle 🤣
Astroai vs Sooprinse?
I will add it to the list, but probably won't be until next year before I test them again.
Couple of things. What’s the big deal about swapping to 1.1 orifice? It’s like $9.
Also, any thoughts on the active 2.0?
So if its being used on an electric pressure washer it will likely need the 1.1 so it foams vs runny suds, this is because most electric washers have a lower psi and gpm.
I did look at the Active 2.0 pressure washer, looks like a sold unit. But hard to say performance wise without testing it.
You might check out Obsessed Garage if u haven't already, Mike's testing is thorough.

Gonna get my a tool daily 🤟thank you for the vid. Guys dont forget to use his referral links for his efforts.
Nice! No problem, I’m glad you found it useful. Thanks for using the link, every little bit keeps this channel operating.
I ordered the AstroAI and it looks like it comes with a 1.25mm inner core diameter according to the manual.
It works well with my electric Ryobi pressure washer regardless.
Damn really? Do you have photos? I was gonna buy the Astro as well until I saw this comment.
I’m about to pull the trigger on the AstroAI. I have a electric Ryobi 1900.
Couldn't post a link, but I get the same performance he got in the review.
I'd recommend it, especially for the price.
Yeah spec sheet says 1.25mm, I actually measured 1mm. Im guessing they changed it and never updated the manual.
Thanks for following up on this. Just ordered the Astro
Can you please post a link to buy the 1.1 orifice? Great reviews!
Thanks! I added the links in the description.
Was looking at electric washers earlier today. But the 2500to3200 psi ones. 👍
Nice, I'm actually shocked how well the cheap Ryobi did. At some point I would like to test electric pressure washers.
How's your 30g doing? I'm almost at 500hrs.
@@Tools-Tested little under 300 now. Not any problems but wish the common complaint of a/c was better. Did Deere come through on the tractor issues?
@@marlondeere3039R Nice, yeah I agree AC could be better. I was going to look at adding some refrigerant but I haven’t had a chance to put gauges on it.
No tractor kinda been a disaster, finally got the brake valve fixed.
The dealer has been cycling through service mangers after the buyout. I think they are on #5 in two years…
Deere never came out on changing the wiper and stuff but like a month or so after that call they stopped making the 5r.
So yeah dealing with my dealer has been challenging to say the least.
FYI I moved the outdoor videos to a new channel.

@@Tools-Tested thanks didn't know that I will definitely check it out and take care.
I guess one would have to watch every bit of the video to understand the context of many of the shots. The explanations didn't make much sense to me
You helped me big time thanks!
Glad I could help! No Problem!
Do any of these already have the 0 orifice?
No normal sizes are 1.1 or 1.25
Whats best orifice size?
1.1
For the AstroAI orfice is it 1mm? 1.1mm? Becasue im trying to look at the comment it says 1.1 and 1.25 im so confused
It is 1mm
Great video man! I only hope to put out great reviews like this one day!!
Thanks! Yeah it takes a lot of time and work. Could do it without my full time job..
@@Tools-Tested WOW!! I believe it!! I actually bought the AstroAI after watching this. Just used it today a few hours ago and it is AMAZING FOR $23!!!!
Glad to hear!
Great review! Would love to see more car detail content!
Thanks! I will try and add some more in!
Great test. You put a lot of thought into this!
Thanks!
I've got the astro one with a 1700 psi electric washer, it always comes out runny even planning with the settings 😖
Do u have a 1.1 mm orifice?
@@arnestufek7062 I don't know haven't checked
Hmm and its the same one as I used in this video? if so maybe try a different soap, it should already have the smaller orifice in it.
@@joeycameron4744 hey thanks for the reply ill be sure to swap it out for the 1.1
doesn't matter just the soap and AstroAi Hands down.
Yep!
Yes! Great video! Try the MJJC Foam cannon Pro V 2.O
Thanks! Will do!
It’s 90$ 😢
Thanks
No problem!
Good video! Thank you
Thanks! no problem!
Like the SBR reference. But you don't have to send the ATF 200 bucks! JimE
Lol I was waiting for someone to catch that. Yep no need for a check to the ATF.
@@Tools-Tested "I was waiting for someone to catch that." That took long enough.🤣
I'm 81 so I can remember life before the ATF when things were a hell of a lot better.
From my point of view, we have gone backwards dramatically in the freedom and live life to it's fullest categories. So sad!!
Go 2A!! Thanks! JimE
PS: I did buy the AstroAl for house washing.... I hope.
