    I bought a cheap foam cannon from amazon as well. I've used it over 100 times already and it still works perfectly fine. In reality you only need 1-2 oz of soap and about a quarter of the bottle filled with water and I got some crazy foam. Have used this technique in all of the cars I've detailed and even when doing larger vehicles

      Like mentioned above. You only need about 1/2 the bottle with water. I use CG mr pink and get great results with similar setup

    Other than getting the hose connector turned around (watch out for that one), the machine is simple to put together and use ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxfQauTxLT0JLSvqkq10rD79TU4k0Vz8zP . And very nice, too. I'm surprised at the power-it's more than we'll ever need, and we've not even used the most powerful setting yet.I've cleaned off a dirty concrete porch to get it ready for sealing, started to clean siding, and I know this pressure washer will be terrific for cleaning tools this fall.The only issue we had is we had turned around the hose connector, and it leaked. Once it was on correctly, though, we had no problems with the connection. Just remember that the end with the green knob goes towards the hose. It's obvious now what we did wrong, but not necessarily obvious at the time.

    I’m no chemist, but the foam thickness doesn’t mean better cleaning power. The soap also has something to do. I did that mod. Yes the foam is thicker, but it doesn’t remove more dirt than before. Thanks for the video. Wash your hat or better yet, throw it out.

    • @tuninggamer
      @tuninggamer 2 місяці тому +4

      I think the idea is that thicker foam is less runny and liquid and thus stays longer in place to work its magic on the dirt. But I think you’re right in saying that the type of soap used is important too

      Yup. The manufactures of pressure washers must really love these "experts" giving advice. Why mess with a good thing when people are shortening the life of their pressure washers lol.
      That said, many of these small garbage pressure washers do work and need a 1.1mm orifice. But still, people should really look in a table to find what they actually need.

    Blake recommend to exchange the orifice universal 1.1m screw costing about over 7.00 + shipping on Amazon. I am frugal so I went get me a short piece of Nichrome wire, cut a short lenght then insert into the orifice bent the wire to a 90 so it mate flat into the grove slot of the screw and that is it. The new reduce hole diameter will do the job. My way to save money and get result.

    Blake, what was the size of the orifice you removed from the cannon to replace with the 1.1 mm oriface? There are a few cheap knockoffs of this same cannon and maybe they're not all built equal. Mine is an MATCC and the orifice I removed, after buying the one recommended here, looks like it has an identical hole size. I guess it doesn't make sense to remove one part if the "upgrade" part is the same.

    • @BlakesGarage
      @BlakesGarage  4 роки тому

      1.3mm was the stock size most foam cannons come with this size. It’s very hard to tell the difference as it’s not much smaller but it makes a huge difference.

    Just wondering about one thing. I have 2 foam cannons (one is for just in case). With both on them, I've had the cannon on a vice with a long wrench on the quick connect. These things are so torqued on, they absolutely refuse to budge. How did you get yours loos the first time you did this?

    • @AB-80X
      @AB-80X Рік тому

      They are more than likely fitted with loctite. Stick the quick release fitting in boiling water for two minutes, then it should be easier to loosen while hot. No need to dunk the whole thing in the water, just hold it in vertically so that the water submerges the connector fully.

    I appreciate this video, along with your others, but I'm not sure why the fluffier foam is better. I get that it LOOKS better, but I can't think of a way it gets your car cleaner. It seems like the mod just increases the amount of air that gets mixed into the soap. If so, how does that clean better, at least after a certain minimal point?
    It reminds me of how the shaving cream companies used to sell their shaving foam - advertising how thick it lathered. It took me years to realize how much better it was to use a little soapy water and a brush.

    • @jeffk3192
      @jeffk3192 2 роки тому

      the tube in the bottle should likely be slightly longer than the bottle itself so that full screwed in it bends to the side. That lets u get the last bit out easier. If your talking about hooking up plastic aquarium tubing to move the heavy bottle off your wand it would prolly work but the soap solution would take a while to siphon up the tube before it reaches your tube which is a bit of a hassle imo

    I have the same foam cannon, don’t have a wand but it connects right to the gun of my pressure washer, tried spraying it and water shot out, tried twisting the nozzle as well as the twisting thing on top and pure water, any recommendations ?

      Take it apart something maybe clogged or linked in the soap feed area. I've never had an issue with mine.

    Is the replacement jet bigger than the original? If that's the case, then perhaps drilling the original jet to 1.1mm might be an easier alternative.

      What you mean by pre wash soaps

    • @mistersleep7
      @mistersleep7 5 років тому +5

      @@akidim13 a soap that is applied, usually with a pressure washer/foam cannon, and left to sit and breakdown dirt and road grime before being rinsed off. It's a good technique for preventing swirls on very dirty cars to get a lot of the crud off before you even touch the paint with any towels or wash mitts. Although being honest for most well maintained cars this is a waste of time on anything except your wheels.

    Adjust your spray pattern. It’s to wide. You’re putting half the foam on the ground.
