I’ve been trying to figure out my hair to go to work as an adult in my 30s. Your video fills my eyes with tears. I finalllly learned how to do it watching you in my bathroom in Harlem. I’m crying. I feel free right now. Able to do my own hair and not pay so much money. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Sistar♥️
I'm a man living in Canada I also want to be able to braid my own hair and stop rocking a simple braid down the back I want some style I can do on my own ya know it's a hard journey so far with alot of frustration but I'll persevere eventually I know
I was always so angry because my mom never taught me how to braid. Now that I’m older , I realize that she never learned how to do her natural hair. She’s had a relaxer since she was a little girl; which means, my grandmother probably didn’t know either. I feel so blessed to grow up in a time where we can learn the things our families never knew from the internet! When I have a daughter or even a son, I can do things differently . Thank you for this video ❤
Honestly, I’m an over thinker, and that’s the reason I never understood how to braid, but you are the FIRST person that actually broke down the hand movements to where I can understand it!! Thank you!
Woooow... You are Soo right... That overthinking runs soooo DEEP in my family... This is so off topic but I'm the first and youngest out of my mom, brother & sister to have DL and drive. My sister actually asked me how does the steering wheel turn back by itself... Just goes to show you how overthinking can literally KILL your future...
i was adopted by a white family who never taught me how to take care of my hair and manage it. I’ve struggled my whole life with my hair, I’m currently 16 and I found this very helpful. Thank you. ❤️
I’m Puerto Rican and have straight/wavy ish hair and was never taught to put products in it past shampoo and conditioner so I feel you. I had a black baby 5 years ago and have been lost with hair care. She basically has the same texture as the woman in this video. (And my daughter tender headed) I’ve been trying to learn protective hair styles to help keep her hair from getting matted. I’ve already found products that seem to work for her and I’ve tried bonnets but she hates them so I’ll be buying silk pillow cases instead. I hope your hair care journey is going wonderfully 🫶🏼
@@CiinaBunniiI think it’s amazing you’re learning how to do her hair! When I was younger, I hated bonnets as well but I finally started wearing them at 13! Silk pillowcases are definitely a great investment for her if she isn’t a fan of bonnets. Thanks so much for the kind words❤
Been trying to learn how to braid all of my 23 years, I watch this once and now I'm braiding my whole head at 2am lol Thank you so much for these simple instructions!
I'm learning so I can help my bf sisters kids she has three girls.. I can't wait to send them back to school styling. I got beads, knocker balls, oil, mousse. I hope I do a good job.
I just wanted to come on here and say the way you explained the process. I learned watching this 5times, I tried with my doll and myself, the way I’m about to start wearing my natural hair myself, I’ve been putting plates / box braids for so long, and I was determined to learn how to corn row because I want to do a sewing for myself. The way I want to talk these box braids out and order me some body wave hair ! Thank you girl! It’s so wonderful that I can be in a time where the girls get it get it. It’s a luxury to get our hair done, but I wanna feel good allll the time, not just to wait to get it done !
I'm 21 and everytime I've asked someone to teach me, it was always "next time" but your explanation gave me some confidence to finally try it myself ❤️
The way i screamed when I did it right. I'm 21 years old and i have watched a lot of videos but this is the first one i could understand, the first thst actually ended in a plait. I just subscribed! Thank you!!!
I did it !!! I finally did it myself 😭😭😭😭 I was close to cutting my hair because I moved to new environment and don’t know anyone that makes hair here....now I only need to practice in make it neat😭😭😭...THANK YOUU
Omg finally someone showing the correct way. My hair is literally just like yours. I be crying in bathroom and now I got it. Finally a video that’s slow and super helpful. No hiding what you doing. Thank you sm. ❤
Girllllll, you are doing the Lord's work! lol I'm 33 and felt like I would never be able to cornrow. I've done wonderful braid outs on my natural hair along with twist outs and flat twists, but I could never braid to the scalp and now I know why! Thank you so so much! ❤
Its so simple but i gotta get my fingers to get it together 😂 i can part and plat a braid somewhat good. I jjst need to get this down but your explanation has been the best Edit!: LITERALLY 5 minutes after my original post i got my first braid EVER. 32 years of age 😂❤❤ im so excited
This woman has just blessed my game!!! I am 42 yrs old and I can FINALLY braid my own hair. This video is A-mazing!!! She explained this so well. I felt like a kid in school learning from my favorite teacher😍😍😍
This is the best explanation of how to braid I've ever seen on the entire internet! Bless you. This is the first time I've watched a braiding tutorial and said to myself, "this makes so much sense!" I literally been lost in the sauce before this lol This video gave me the confidence to try braiding again. I just washed my hair and air drying/ stretching it overnight so I can trim and give braiding a try tomorrow. I am so anxious to do it, but I know I can. Thank you so much for this!
My mom did my hair for me for a long time and then I switched to locs for years and recently took them out to experiment with my hair and explore my hair. I’m learning so many things I didn’t know how to do. Learning my own wash day routine. Learning to do knot less braids for the first time, crochet braids, lace fronts, and faux locs. My biggest struggle has been braiding down my hair 😭 it made my lace fronts look wonky and it made crocheting look wonky because I can never get them neat and flat. This video is what I needed ❤ thank you 🙏🏽
Braiding makes me more frustrated than anything in this world here I am trying to braid my hair for my wig on my birthday and just having a total mental breakdown. I give up, this video is very amazing though I will come back in a month or two and try again 🤍🤍🤍 I love the way you speak and teach
I can't believe how easy this actually is! For the first time I managed to do it! It's not great (YET!) but it's happening and I now finally get it! Thank you so much for sharing this! I can see from the comments I am not the only one who got something absolutely brand new in their lives thanks to you 🎉 Thank you so much for the time you took to make this video. It deserves a million views! ❤
This was a great tutorial! I’m 28 and have been styling my own hair regularly for about 10 years in, mostly, twists and the occasional mini braid. I love that you showed us the back angle of you braiding because that’s very difficult for me even when I do flat twists.
Definitely a blessing from God & you , as a guy u help me braid over my braids after wanted to learn so many years beacause i seen other do they own hair and im like i know it possible i already had the understanding of how to plat just didnt know how to cornrow, still will keep practicing to get better May God keep.blessing you
Thank you so much. 35 years old and have worn wigs and relaxers the majority of my life. Seeing how easy and fun crochet hairstyles can be, I decided it was time to attempt doing my own hair again. don't know why but other tutorials just didn't click. It's messy, but I did my first cornrow braid thanks to you. Bless
This tutorial helped me finally learn to braid on my own head! 🍾🤪 Turning away from the mirror and practicing the motions on my hair was really the turning point. Once I got it down I could look again and watch my fingers to make the braids neater. Wearing last night’s work as a braid out rn and can’t wait to put em back in my head tonight! 🙂↔️🫶🏾
Me and my boyfriend plan to adopt in the future whenever we have the needs met for living and have the money for it, so here I am learning just in case we adopt a POC with hair like this even though it’s years from now better to learn now then later. : )

Let me go try this, I'll be back😊....BACK😊😊THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I braided my baby whole head for the first time. I've tried to braid hair countless times for the past 30 years and this video single handedly taught me how to braid. I have not done on myself yet but I'm confident I can now.😊 ❤
thank you, babe! i knew how to braid, but not how to cornroll! they were always loose and sloppy. telling me that i have to grab strands of hair from the opposite outside end... *chef's kiss* doing the lord's work, ma'am.
Amazing tutorial! I am tomboyish and am getting into wanting to braid my natural hair. I am still learning but your tutorial has helped me get a little better. The hand technique is key. thanks
Now this is a good tutorial. The others weren't saying what to do with that middle piece, but u actually say the middle now becomes the left/right and there is a new middle. I'm going to keep practicing so that I can cornrow my own hair.
To the comments & I haven’t even started the video yet … I’m so freaking determined & thank you so freaking much in advance my gal! ❤ you changed lots of Blk Gal lives fr with this one!!

I've been trying to learn since I was little but just gave up, now that I want to have kids I know this is something that I can't give up on. You actually explained this so well and I'm actually braiding my own hair and I couldn't be more proud of myself. Thank you again from the bottom, top, and both sides of my heart!!
OMG, this has been the best tutorial for braiding for beginners. I will definitely be practicing watching your video to learn this. Thank you for this step by step, you make it look so effortless ☺️👏🏽👏🏽
The clearest instructions i have ever seen and ive watched alot of how to for beginners type videos. Definitely think ill get it now but ill report back after my attempt lol.

as I paid more attention i figured it out all thanks to this video she made it look easy hands down she has the best video when it comes to understanding the braiding process
I'm past my 60's and can't braid. I can do individual plaits. But I want to learn to interlace the braids. You make it look easier than some of the videos I've seen. Thanks for doing this video.
Thank you so much for this video!! Yours is the best tutorial I’ve seen ❤️ My daughter is mixed and she has gorgeous 4b hair; I’ve learned to do just about any style but have been struggling with braiding to the scalp! Thank you sooo much; this mama is much more confident.💪💪
I’m 35 and Omg I been wanting to learn how to corn row for everrrr. I finally got the courage found your video helped me a lot. They’re not perfect but I’m so proud of myself thank you !
Omg! This is the BEST EXPLANATION of how how to cornrow that I have EVER watched!! I have watched SO many that did not explain it clearly! Finally! Thank you so much!!!!
Thank you so much for this video!!! I’m Asian but my baby girl is African/asian and she has pretty curly hair. I’ve been trying to learn and search all over for a video that didn’t say “for beginners” but than sped through the technique for starting the braid and how to grab the hair behind the left and the right sides!!! I am so thankful for this video. I knew it was some how like a French braid but I couldn’t figure out how to grab the hair from the section to braid down. Also love the detailed explaination on the different parts of the braid. I didn’t know the difference between plat and braid!! So excited to practice these cornrows on my baby now!!! ❤
Thanks for this video. I can now save time and money by not going to a braid salon for cornrows when I need cornrows just to do my own crochet or weave. It doesn’t need to be neat when it’s hidden by crochet or a weave 😊
Thank you so much. Subscribed ✅ I’m biracial and grew up with my white side of the family you might as well say and my mom did her best. So I’m learning everything from scratch at 29 after just winging it. 😅🎉
Thank you for this tutorial. Never knew how to do cornrows and probably I didn't have the interest to learn it. Everything changed when God blessed me with a baby girl with so much hair last year. Now I have the interest to learn.
you’re a very good teacher. It’s very difficult to explain this, I just watched a few other videos and other people are literally explaining the same thing but I couldn’t follow along😭
Think i finally see it now. Thanks. Your video really showed more than a bunch i have watched. Your tutorial showed me a lot up close n simple.☺️ Now i wish i had a doll head or something to practice on before i try to tackle my tender headed son's 4C hair.😏
Omg I’ve been watching other videos on how to row your own hair for a minute and couldn’t get it and got it in seconds after watching your vid! Thank you so much!!!!❤
Im tired of stylists doing my hair and breaking it, im on a hair journey, fingers crossed i learn fast and grow my hair long and healthy, wish me luck😊
I know you said 4c but helped this 3c/4a girlie right here. I can braid others' hair but cannot, for the life of me, braid my own hair and this video is a godsend 😭
My husband has 4C hair and started growing it out. I have struggled so much trying to corn row it for him. I didn’t understand why gripping it was so much harder than my own type 2-3 hair and I looked up sooo many “how to grip hair for cornrows” videos and not a single one showed exactly how to grip the hair and hold it between your fingers like you’re did. Thank you so much. I can’t wait to try again tonight for him
Finally got wig to pratice this braiding method! And I think I got it! It got easier the more I praticed , but I always com back to this video whenever I forget how to start/begin! Thank you so much for this helpful tip
Sissss! Thank you 😩 this video helped me to finally learn how to braid. I couldn’t understand the technique for so long. You explained this perfectly 💕 Bless you 🥲
This is the most amazing method I've seen!! the angles are P E R F E C T and your speed is awesome!! Thank you for posting this, I'm one step closer to learning, I got hand the positioning and sectioning right, just gotta get into the groove of the braiding pattern! more Thank youuu!!!
Thank you so much for this video. I had my first trial, my braids were not so neat because of my parting but the technique helped me alot....as I kept going....the better .

Thank you so much for this! I’m learning so I can help my girlfriend with her hair ❤❤
One video is what it took me to be able to cornrow my own hair that video is amazing that i had to come back and comment thanks a lot🙏🏽
You’re welcome ☺️
as I paid more attention i figured it out all thanks to this video she made it look easy hands down she has the best video when it comes to understanding the braiding process
Great job!
This video did it for me, watched a couple before this one but THIS VIDEO DID IT FOR ME. Thank you so much darling
Thanks for this video. I can now save time and money by not going to a braid salon for cornrows when I need cornrows just to do my own crochet or weave. It doesn’t need to be neat when it’s hidden by crochet or a weave 😊
You're a good teacher 😇❣️thank you ❤️🙌
I am in my 50’s and this was very helpful 😊
Thank you so much. Subscribed ✅
I’m biracial and grew up with my white side of the family you might as well say and my mom did her best. So I’m learning everything from scratch at 29 after just winging it. 😅🎉
That’s Wonderful! It never too late
Thank you for this tutorial. Never knew how to do cornrows and probably I didn't have the interest to learn it. Everything changed when God blessed me with a baby girl with so much hair last year. Now I have the interest to learn.
As a hijabi student im soo glad you posted this video as going to salons is getting expensive , Tysm ❤
Glad it was helpful!
Yeah my braiding skills are pretty bad lol. Gotta keep practicing. Thanks for the tips
Great instructions. It’s been difficult to find a video that doesn’t include weave. Thanks so much for this.
You are so welcome!
you’re a very good teacher. It’s very difficult to explain this, I just watched a few other videos and other people are literally explaining the same thing but I couldn’t follow along😭
Exactly how I feel too! She’s a great teacher so I followed easily
Think i finally see it now. Thanks. Your video really showed more than a bunch i have watched. Your tutorial showed me a lot up close n simple.☺️ Now i wish i had a doll head or something to practice on before i try to tackle my tender headed son's 4C hair.😏
You are the first I’ve seen to really break it down. I think I finally get it!!! Thank you!!!
That’s amazing!! You’re very welcome
Omg girl thank u this tutorial helped me learned how to braid and I'm 30. I should've been learned lol. Thank u❤❤❤❤❤
Omg I’ve been watching other videos on how to row your own hair for a minute and couldn’t get it and got it in seconds after watching your vid! Thank you so much!!!!❤
I loved this. It's exactly what I've been looking for all this long. This is perfect ❤️
You’re very welcome 😊
Im tired of stylists doing my hair and breaking it, im on a hair journey, fingers crossed i learn fast and grow my hair long and healthy, wish me luck😊
You are the best teacher. The FATHER LORD bless you.
Thank you!!
Finally! I’ve got it!!! It’s taken forever but your video finally made it CLICK. Thank you!
Glad it helped! You’re welcome
I know you said 4c but helped this 3c/4a girlie right here. I can braid others' hair but cannot, for the life of me, braid my own hair and this video is a godsend 😭
Exactly, it's so weird how I can braid other people's hair but not my own.
Same! it's so frustrating 😫
I have trouble doing other people hair, but I can do my own without a mirror. I wonder if it's the same for different styles.
Thank you because I was really struggling ! I've been to two beginner videos prior to yours . You were very thorough. ❤
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks so much, and I need you to know you are an angel teacher. Now I can do it myself. May the Almighty bless you abundantly.
You have given me hope. I’m going to be doing my own sew-in and this is wonderful. You made it so easy to understand truly. Thank you ❤
That’s amazing!! Thanks
Thank you for this tutorial! I’m 56 and I never learned to braid. This was so easy to learn!
You’re welcome
My husband has 4C hair and started growing it out. I have struggled so much trying to corn row it for him. I didn’t understand why gripping it was so much harder than my own type 2-3 hair and I looked up sooo many “how to grip hair for cornrows” videos and not a single one showed exactly how to grip the hair and hold it between your fingers like you’re did. Thank you so much. I can’t wait to try again tonight for him
For someone with fine hair u saved my life thanks girl 💖
Finally got wig to pratice this braiding method! And I think I got it! It got easier the more I praticed , but I always com back to this video whenever I forget how to start/begin! Thank you so much for this helpful tip
Sissss! Thank you 😩 this video helped me to finally learn how to braid. I couldn’t understand the technique for so long. You explained this perfectly 💕 Bless you 🥲

Thank you this video was incredibly helpful! As a natural who cannot braid for her life this has been an excellent explanation 🙌🏿
You’re very welcome Emily

Update… I can now cornrow my own hair 🥳🥳
Thank you so much for this video. I had my first trial, my braids were not so neat because of my parting but the technique helped me alot....as I kept going....the better .
The best tutor ever I have tried learning cornrows for years but now I get it .
Girl you should be a teacher!!! You’re so good at this!!!
