Thank you! Single father raising 2 boys here. My sisters & homegirls always braided my hair and I can do singles but never could French braid. I figured I might as well try to learn so I can twist my sons Afro up. 😂
LOL!.... I spent hours trying to figure out why my cornrows were inverted!!!.... I learned how to French braid as a child and never knew the difference! Now I struggle with doing cornrows! This video was very helpful!!!!
When i was little i taught myself how to single braid but never learned how to cornrow. When I tried to cornrow I would be confused as to why it wasnt working looks weird and inverted. I saw the thumbnail of this video and saw the sunken in braid and decided to click on it. At 0:31 u mentioned "inside" and "outside" braids. so that means... MY WHOLE LIFE I HAVE BEEN DOING INSIDE BRAIDS HAVING NO CLUE AS TO WHY MY BRAIDIND METHOD WAS SO WEIRD. Well I did find out a whileeee ago that I braid in backwards (inside) but i never knew what it was or that there was a name for it. I also dont use my finger*tips* to braid more so my whole finger??? Idk how to explain it lmao but thank u so much for this information I'm going to try to train myself into getting use to using my fingertips and outside braiding. When I do try it feels soooo weird tho because I am so used to inside braiding.
I totally get this I just learned 5 minutes ago how to properly do an outside braid on my head. It’s not neat but I got the technique down. I’m left handed and I thought it had to do with that but I’m just a natural backwards braider lol.
You are great definitely geeked about trying these techniques. I’m not the best braided but I’ll be trying this once I take my protective style out. Thanks
I can only imagine, especially considering I felt the same way when washing my own hair at 16; only, I guess it pales in comparison, as it was fairly easy. :D
Your french braids came out beautiful, but you might as well have been teaching in another language for all I understood.🤣 I've tried many times to french braid, cornrow, dutch braid, flat twist any type of braid to be flat to my head. The last time I tried I got my hair so tangled I literally had to cut the "braid" out. That was the end of my trying and I just accepted the fact that my brain and hands don't work together like whatever it is people do to get these styles to work. Now I just enjoy watching others do these types of styles.
I use to know how french braid but I broke outta that habit when I started in the beginning learning how to braid I'm hoping to break this to so I can braid correctly
If you was teaching a class I would fail no doubt about it but I don't like to give up either so I will continue. I love the French braid going back been trying to do that for months. (Trying to french braid my mohawk)
so I had a fight with my stylist and vowed to never allow her to do my hair and my mom is forcing me to go and do my hair by her and I'm like nah ah I'll do my own hair , so she is at work and she said I must do this hair style and the hairstylist must do me and I decide to try and do myself and if it works and I turn out to be beutiful I am sending her an image to show her of my skills
Her comb's name must be Moses, because them parts are amazing 🤣
