Ngl I’m side eyeing a little bit if a black woman never at the very least TRIED to learn. I’m not gonna be mean and say anything but I’m def judging, this is apart of our culture, it’s apart of hair care, take pride in who you (not literally you) are and learn something. I swear doing my hair is a workout. My arms feel like they’re about to fall off, and in the end my cornrows still look a hot mess😂😭😭 I just flat twist and call it a day. At least I can say I tried(multiple times) 😭😂

I’ve been wanting to trying my own crochet protective style for some time now, but I’ve never known how to cornrow and as a black woman I feel extremely insecure about it. Every time I’ve tried I’ve bursted into tears out of frustration. Hoping to try again soon because lord knows getting it done by someone else isn’t cheap😂
I’m probably the only guy here😂 I just needed to know how to do this for myself cause I don’t wanna keep spending money on getting my hair braided when I could do it myself. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!🔥🔥🔥🖤
After a year I finally got the technique down and it it NOT easy at first but through trial and error you’ll perfect your own technique. I found that it’s easier for me to braid my hair by feel and closing my eyes - occasionally checking the mirror.
I never used to know how to do cornrows on my hair but kept practicing on dolls and my hair until finally I got it.
**My advice would be to be conscious that you are braiding down on your scalp not up (atleast that's what I struggled with). Slow and steady.
I would purposely remind myself to braid on my scalp and not away from it and with persistence I made it. Now I'm upgrading to adding extensions😁
Ps: I knew how to do braid single braids with just my hair.
If you are learning don't be discouraged, you can do it!!!
Ahh you showed me what I have been doing wrong! I can cornrow but they always turn out lumpy. When I have been picking up hair, I have been scooping under with my finger rather than picking up from the top!!! Wow, you literally just solved my biggest problem! Thank you!

i LIKE HOW your line is so straight. I do my cornrow myself, but sometimes my cutting can be a headache but I do get a clean cut in the end. Nice natural look.

The angle of the last braid was by far the best. You could see in more detail. I’m gonna give it a try but I think I got it. After these box braids stay in a bit longer.

I've mastered cornrowing only after I shaved off my bra strap length 4c hair out of frustration ( no matter how much I washed it it smelled). My hair gown back and im at a Bob length now and I feel so proud of my tiny little Plats. Uuuugh so crisp!

This was one of the first channels that showed up in my search & I want to thank you so much for this video. It's a little embarrassing to be my age and not know how to braid your own hair (or braid in general), but it's gotten to a point where I feel bad asking my godmother to do my hair.
Just remember ing you gave me some strength to braid my hair,they weren't the perfect braids but they turned out nicely,ty so much❤️❤️
