What a day that must have been. One of the best 4 rotor moments yet for me. Getting her to that level of dialed was wild to finally see. Didn't come across what an accomplishment this was in the hoonigan video but good to see it here. It only gets *WAY BIGGER* going forward. So happy for you and the team

holy shit man that was an insane progression from previous races. big turbo will be insane in the top end
probably need more gearing also as HP and torque will be higher and he almost running out of speed as is now due to the gearing.
@@extec101 hes not even close to running out of speed.... hes still got 2 gears at the end of the pull, hes only half way through 5th and he has 6 gears 🤣. its entirely limited to the turbo right now because the turbo is dropping off.

This car will have that legacy that lives on for a very long time and nobody will ever forget that wicked pissed off howl when that thing is wicked up. Well, I'll admit that I was wrong about my prediction about the bigger turbo being too much. Look forward to seeing it go on and get tuned.
I didn't think it would be too much in general because you have these no prep guys with the ability to run near 2000 hp with boost per gear, but I did think it would've been too much for this chassis, I was definitely wrong about that.
I'm so happy for Rob... This is the mf PAYOFF ... This is what ALL you and the boys sleepless nights is for and it's only getting better man the more you learn... so so stoked to see you and the cars progress

You're the only UA-camr that I watch every single video as soon as it comes out. Your dedication and persistence is amazing to watch. This car has a completely different car than the one that raced the Hoonicorn. Seeing the video of the car with it's full body on and it wrapped was wicked. Now to see it finally getting dialed in and hauling ass is just as wicked. I truly hope one day I can see this car in person and hear her pissed off growl with my own ears. I've gotta say, the shorter (sub 20 minute) videos are much easier to actually watch. Sometimes I can watch the 40-60 minute ones, but usually I have to skip them. I could watch every single ~20 minute video, though, and I'm sure I'm not alone.
Seeing the car getting faster and faster after every race was just insane, next time i know it will be even faster for that rematch race VS the Hoonicorn at some point! 😁
Hearing that it looks hoonicorn fast is just such a huge accomplishment and it will be as fast if not more with some more tuning and bigger turbo

phenomenal guys, i remember following the build for so long and im proud to say that y'all been a huge inspiration to me in getting into the car scene. i knew nothing about rotaries before let alone what someone with an engineers perspective can do with the foundation of the motor. truly a beautiful build, and im excited to see where it goes from here! hopefully i get to see it in person some day, much love guys!
Not sure if you'll be able to race the Hoonicorn again. You don't have significantly less power than it.
I can only imagine how you felt when you were to be told that the car looked Hoonicorn fast. Just having that level of validation after mall this time with the Hoonicorn being the inspiration for this to begin with must be WILD.
You can hear it the 4 rotor is so close to its peak and it’s gonna put a hurtin on everyone. This labor of love that we’ve all gotten to see grow over the years this is a moment for all of us ❤

I keep thinking maybe you need to short shift a bit more in early gears where you can only put down so much power. Watching Ken, he was grabbing almost 2 gears a second once he got out to around 60ft. That car is definitely as fast, but will take time to learn it and keep dialing it in. We all got faith in ya, especially after this long Rob! Keep it up! #robwonlifewithrotarypower
can't really make that comparison, the powerband and gearing are likely way different to that car

@@ascorbic123 Oh for sure. I just recognize that there is also a slope curve to how much power can be applied at any one point based on speed and leverage. Granted I'm no expert, but it sounded like 1st and 2nd could be pulled just a hair earlier to not only load the turbo more each gear, but to use the meaty midrange of that 4 rotor. Ken's Hoonicorn had like... 7 gears??? Right? So yeah, he was closer knit anyways. I find myself with high power, using the boost history a lot to see how much load over time I need to get the most out of a turbo launch. Now granted I don't have the traction of Robs.... lol. In any case, Rob's car is crazy quick. And has a LOT left in it.

Rob i havnt been on the full journey with you, i joined pretty late comparatively but im so happy for you, this car is incredible and one day i hope to be able to build something like it. 2 years ago your channel got me into rotaries, and in a pretty rough patch with my car your videos helped me rebuild my motor and keep her running, Thank you for the wonderful content. I love rotaries!

Have you thought about going compound turbos? There’s a lot of math involved in your application to figure out what will work efficiently. But I think it would be very beneficial.
Have you seen asymmetrical twin scroll turbos? Is it possible to utilize a housing like that on a gas motor? I would think so with how in control of the system you are. With asymmetrical scrolls, you get the effect of VGT, but without all of those moving parts and flow restrictions. You can roll a massive turbo, but you can close down one side of the housing (the larger one) to have a smaller housing per sé.
It's so awesome to see what this has become in the time you worked on it. I've been watching for a while, and I'm smiling so big, seeing what it has become. Keep up the great work!

Smaller turbo has found it’s retirement home from shelving unit and will never work again. Car looks way more happier with bigger turbo. Like a dog when given bigger bone = happier. I think this is what we all have been waiting for years. You to succeed outright. I felt genuinely happy for you. And yes, the sound is now also imprinted in my skull, what a lovely lovely noise.
Rob you just took me down memory lane and made me feel what I felt the first time I heard a big boost RX-7 circa 1997. Amazing man...congratulations to you and your team on all your hard work and achievements.
