I'm not sure if Rob could ever understand how much I enjoy watching his videos. I literally wait to make food so I can watch this while eating.
how do you survive /s
@@vailosquiet8678 I live in constant cope between uploads
You fasted for 3 weeks ?!

I really love how many Aussie brands Rob is using in his builds, from Haltech and Xclutch to Turbosmart and Speedflow. Really makes me feel patriotic ♥
Your name says it all 😂
The only aussie thing I know is DankPods 😅
Have you tried changa yet mate?
Vegimite
thx rob for the continous rotary content. you opened my eyes to the art of rotaries and now I own a project rotary car that I rebuilt and it's up and running!
Bs, if that was true you'd have posted about it along with your not copyrighted music vids. And before you try and give some snarky response to not posting any pics or vids of it... You posted meh copyright free songs on your page with meh animation but nothing... Literally nothing about a "project rotary car that you rebuild and is up and running". Really? gtfoh mate.
Nicely done
in the same boat myself. so much learning.
In the same boat too lmao
What has this man done
The 3 Rotor reminds me of Legacy code. You start with one thing, then another, then eventually you've redesigned the system from the ground up because "well everything is already shit, can't get worse"
Like a big bowl of yummy spaghetti code
25:58 "Now it's like an 8 footer" -Joel... such a backhanded compliment 😂😂😂 I friggin love it
Rob you inspired me to get my first rotary powered car. Just picked up an 81 fb rx-7, thanks for making mazing content.
Awesome bro! Ive got a 83 rx7
What I would give to be chillin on my porch smoking or drinking and hearing Rob test his 3 and 4 rotor off in the distance. A true symphony!
Adding tunnels to the front diffuser/splitter, very nice. Free downforce, ultra low drag.
Rob having a centred steering wheel in this car is amazing after so long 😂
Rob your videos are always slightly massively better.
Words are matter times the sum.
Isaiah's back, yay.
It's crazy seeing how much suspension effects the cars personality.
Thank you Rob for giving me the time of day and having a whole conversation with me at Gridlife Midwest, won’t ever forget that P.s. you’re taller on camera 😂😂
Thank you Joel for making rob wraping the light covers it was buggning me sooooooo much! 😂😂 love to u guys from sweden ❤
your the best car youtuber in my opinion keep it up
Hey Rob, have you looked into turbo's that use their own lubricant? Im currently running Comp oil-less turbos on both of my rotary cars and while they aren't oil-less they don't use the same oil as the engine. However because you dont have to worry about gravity returns you can mount these turbo's in any orientation, great for tight engines bays. Ive had alot of success and fun with them since switching to them in 2019. Just a few squeezes of their mineral lubricant every few 1000 miles and your good to go. And the spool up compared to the Precision Gen2's they replaced is amazing. I know your a Garrett man but I was just wondering if you had ever checked out these kinds of turbo's. Keep up the great work fellas, DORITOS 4 LIFE!!!!!🤙
I got a 99 civic with the d16y8 and was wondering on oil less turbos, thank you the comment I'm gonna look into them!
@@matthewsoules7064 They indeed are great for turboing N/A cars because as I said you don't need to worry about return lines so you don't have to worry about drilling and welding your factory oil pan.
Man, a Dahm video w him talking turbos just hits the spot.
Every time we see the 3 rotor, it just gets better and better. I love it. I've said countless times how much I love this car, but I don't think it can be understated. I'm glad you've still got love for it even after all this time and all your other projects.
The sound of the pulls, never gets old!
Thx for the recommendation. Ditched my traditional alarm a couple of years ago for Simply Safe.
not gonna lie i would love to wake up to Rob testing his rotary cars in the morning🤣👍 love your vids dude
Rob I hope you know that you truly inspire so many people with what you do. Not only that but you take it to the next level and pour yourself into this work, constantly bettering yourself and widening your knowledge and skill sets. You are a prime example of a superb human being that I respect and admire. I hope that I can follow in the footsteps of the great men I’ve learned from in my life, whether that was in person or from a UA-cam video. Thank you
rob goes through turbos like i go through rolls of toilet paper lol
Man i was thinking same shit😂 his turbo collection is worth more than most people’s entire garage
Literally every video.....new turbo
100% agree about the love for turbos vs the love of cars. Both are a passion but something about a snail building boost and the sounds that come with it..
Been having to watch LZs rotory stuff. Eh. Im glad rob uploaded. Ive been waiting.
Seriously though Me and my wife love watching you. I get my Rotary addiction satiated, and she gets to see all your cats it's the best of both worlds
31:25 I think it's a tremendous flex that the key still works, especially with today's builds
What a vlog that was. Absolutely mind blowing, thanks for sharing I could not be more impressed.
Robert, to me, the engine sounds better and well balanced. It additionally seems smoother than ever before.
Thank you Joel, I also wanted to see those headlight covers black!
Dammit Rob! I'm not going to lie as soon as you said you were going to weld it I thought "OH NO!" But you killed it Rob, nice looking welds homeboy! Let's go!
Amazing engineering at its finest!
I love learning every time I watch your videos.
Of course there's a Rob Dahm upload right when I'm walking into class 😞
Yay, thanks for another great update Rob. Cheers mate.
Love your work Rob. You guys look and sound frazzled, hope the workload backs off soon
I love that impact riveter got mine on the cornwell truck, it’s soooo nice for steel rivets
Rob’s t-shirts are cracking me up. Goonies, Ghost Busters… He’s an 80’s kid! 😂
Hey Rob, I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before, but if you guys were worried about airflow into the radiator with the front mount intercooler, would it be beneficial to run a V-mount style system since you plan to track this car so you guys can build optimal duckting to get more hot air out of the bay?
Would a V-mount be possible with the 3 rotor or is it too long? I’ve just only seen it done on a 2 rotor but I imagine it is possible
@lanezurowski6616 Ahh, I'm not 100% sure? But with how good Rob is with Cad and how good fab daddy does his work, I'm sure they'd be able to build something up since i think the front end on the 3 rotor rx7 is tubed?
@@lanezurowski6616 Its definitely possible. The Super GReddy 7 by RE-Amemiya springs immediately to mind. I do think its dependent on how exactly the engine and turbo are mounted as to whether or not you'd have space, though. The angle of the V could also play a part too.
in computer geek terms since we have rads on pcs now with fans some even on both sides doing push pull configure, we like to call that term STATIC Pressure, being able to push air thru the restricted rad fins, with enough efficiency to drop the temperature of whatever is flowing threw the rad.
34:28 Rob pls pls pls be careful spinning wheels by hand with your fingers inside the spokes. Your fingers can get caught between the caliper and the spokes of the wheel. There may be enough space with this setup where it wont get wedged but the momentum of the wheel spinning can do serious damage if your phalanges get stuck
when I have to weld really nice things, I do a bit of practice welding on similar metals to get the cobwebs out.
Rob. Love the Exhaust Sound very sweet info on Turbos too! Thanks
Best international content that youtube has to offer.
You could build some ducting from the end tanks that routes air in between the oil coolers and intercooler for brake cooling. Just something i thought of.
The king has returned 😍😍
King of what?
I know you probably dont have the ability to make the angle of that intercooler hood less steep but i believe that with such a steep angle you're going to have flow separation issues. You might make up for it by pressurizing the incoming air as it builds up trying to get through the intercooler but i would not be surprised to see a pressure differential.
I love the sound of 3 rotars 👌 nicer than 4 for a street car 😎
So much knowledge in every video.
@ 30:00 I can see how tired you are. We love you Rob. Take care of yourself ❤
FINALLY! Another video.
Will someone step up and get this man a trailer...or at least a U-haul sponsor 😆
Robert, there are three points where the front suspension system needs to be in alignment with each other. In the event that the car has upper and lower control arms, the pivots of the rack and pinion steering knuckles must be in line with the bolts that are slid into them. What will happen in the event they aren't? Bump steer. How does that happen? In a different way of typing this, how does bump steer occur? Look at the pivots of those control arms. Next, look at the wrong length of the rods that are attached to the ends of the rack. Do you see it? It's difficult to see it in your mind when you're not able to concentrate. That's what you need to do. No, I'm not angry at you while I was typing that. The pivots of the tie rods and the two control arms, when they aren't in alignment with each other, there'll be bump steer. In the event that the tie rods are longer that where the two control arms pivot, whenever the tire travels over a bump, they'll pivot outwards. The opposite is true when those tie rods are shorter than where those control arm pivots are. They'll pivot the two tire inwards. Why is it that way? That's a question you need to answer for yourself. The reason for this is because I'm not able capable of doing that at this moment of time. I'll possibly be able to in the future, except not currently, though. It's a possibility that I'll be able to answer this question relatively soon, possibly this night. Is it a possibility that I did answer that question? That's additionally a possibility. Why is it that way is the question. I believe I have the answer to it. It's because the tie rod pivots and the control arm pivots are of two different lengths. That's the reason why the three of those pivots need to be in alignment with each other.
More rod on that weld and more argon and you gave a perfect weld there rob 🙌💪
Hells yea another Dahm Video!
rob have you ever thought of running the coolers off a scavenge pump to not have to worry about pressure loss? i currently have this setup on my s2000 and it works flawlessly
🤯
Rob. You have one Sweet sounding race car. Hope next time out better times. Thanks
God bless Rob you blacked the head light covers 🙏😎
God I love this car Nerd!!!. Rob Dahm for President!!!!
Or Prime Minister.
I'm in the UK ...
I was just watching another car video and was thinking: "Hm, about time for a Dahm drop, i should check."
this is something I learned always replace your oil feed line when you replace the turbo especially on an older vehicle they get restricted or closed off after awhile from the heat cooking up the oil
29:59 Glad to see other ppl also struggle with this.
Borgwarner predicted that style turbo over a decade ago. Its the reason many rotarys run them..larger exhaust wheels suit ethanol better too. That turbo will be more efficiant at higher power-not "less laggy"
Good to see Fab Daddy back in action!
With the trailer foresight, it's time to upgrade Joel's responsibilities at Daddy Dahm's HQ
Been fiending for some new Dahm/Fab Daddy content
One of the first ones again in on watching tonight fresh video (Currently 01:10 at night in Finland xD)
You know its gonna be an interesting video when it starts off with Rob showing off his tongue
Our rotary lord himself Rob Dahm himself has gifted us with with new video
From one car performance nerd to another, I'd love to see you to perform those lab tests again using Amsoil.
It pops a flame simply from starting up. 😂👍👍
That's the coolest miller jacket 🔥
You n hoonigan both talking bout Air ratio’s on the Garett turbos today crazy …
About time you posted something😅 ❤
YAYAYAY YOU POSTED!!!
I'm not lying when i say i screamed when i saw the notif
A massive moment as the front bumper is finally wrapped
Can’t wait to see her on the track!
Agreed another amazing video to watch and eat dinner
Rewatching later. Amazing content.
Rob you'd drive me nuts tuning every little detail as we were going racing. I understand ur trying to maximize everything but I think you change the tune every day you might as well have a carburetor and change jets every day as the temperature changes 5 degrees 😅
So much turbo knowledge, I didn't even know existed
The g35-1050 .83 ar and the g30-900 have the exact same AR and same exact housing except the machining in the housing.
15w-40 works good in turboed Subarus. Rotella t6
About time with a new video, the wait time has gotten way to long between video posting 😆
My fiance and I went separate ways after the Shania Twain concert lmao 😅
Rob can you get a Piston or sparkplug cam snaked into your mask so we can see what you see while you are welding? It be a different angle and we can really see how those masks diffuse or lessen the light from the welder.
Awesome video! I would have thought you would have wanted to test out the G45-1600 80mm turbo
No point adding lag to the car when he's dialling it in and tightening up the performance characteristics.
try piezo crystal as the mechanical spark, in a piston/rotary engine, squeezing the crystal with the piston/rotor
Thank goodness
So from your word wouldn't a compound turbo system be more optimal for a rotary?
Just about to fall asleep in bed before work in the morning. Not anymore, I'd rob time !!
i feel like Rob has become the Rotary GOD,
Is the oil coolant hose anchored down to prevent chafing?
Pretty funny how Zach had Garrett at the hoonigan to do the exact same thing for his Tahoe in today's video
Three rotor sounds beautiful
I can't wait to see Rob dahm Dyno the twelve rotor if he did a timing tune like he did on his four rotor transmission and fuel flow chart that things gonna hit five thousand horse power to easy
hope the 3 rotor becomes robs complete aesthetically pleasing street car
Yes put 6 of them on the 12 rotor!
He baccc
Ido not know anything about rotary but it seems a drift car thing to rear mount the radiator I get the "street car" but you said race car Dahm so better weight distribution rear mount rad behind the rear axle seems the way to push this car as far as it can go
