I love your soothing voice and calm demeanor. I watched your video after returning from a group study through my church called "Anxious for Nothing: Finding Calm in a Chaotic World." Just having the emotional support of other women is refreshing and your points just built on what I am learning. Bless you, Norinne!
I feel your pain. I take care of my mom. Mom has the early stages of dementia. She started a year before dad passed. I miss him because he helped me with her. Now I am with her until my husband gets home from his 12 hours of work 4 days a week. When he gets home that is when I get my shower and unwind a little. Hugs to you Brenda.... maybe you can read a book you enjoy out loud to her? It will help you both. Not having two days the same makes it very difficult to plan.... But you can still prioritize the tasks as they come up. 💙

I’m new and I love that you’re real!!! I’ve got many and I mean many big medical problems and I’ve had to step back and say to my family and extended family, “ I need to think of me right now” at first it was really hard. For over 30 years I’ve dropped everything when they called to my own detriment. They just didn’t understand. Even now, after 10 years I feel I only hear from some when they need something. Minus a special few. I used to do too much when I had a good day but then suffer for weeks. Now I do what I can and I leave the rest. This is me! If they don’t like what they see? Don’t come over. You are so sweet for sharing everything with us. I always think everyone else is more functional. I always think that I am dysfunctional. Because I have a habit of comparing how I am today versus how much I was able to do in a day when I was 18 or 19 years old. Not to mention, I would really love to have my 18 or 19 year old body back.☺️
Great ideas! I attend an ongoing stress-management class, and one of the recurring bits of advice is: "Self care is not selfish. You cannot serve from an empty vessel." Many years ago, I tried selling Tupperware (failed). But in their training, they said to write down EVERY committment in your date book, including "me time" things. This was supposed to show a really full and busy schedule and encourage potential customers to hurry up and get a booking with you. It didn't work for me, but from what you've said of your situation, it can work the other way for you: instead of having to say "no" outright, you can simply say, "I'm booked for this month, but I can get you in next month." I have always had trouble delegating. I fall victim to the "if you want it done right, do it yourself" philosophy. Often, depending on the project, I can't really say what I need someone else to help with anyway, as I'm often winging it, and don't know what step is next until I get there myself. ;-) Hope your kids and fur baby are all okay now!
Thank You, for taking time to share this info., that will help us all...when all heck seems to be altering what we had planned or hoped to accomplish! You are a God Send, and hope all gets less hectic for you, ASAP. God Bless, You All. Gretchen B. :)
Oh Norrine, you’ve had a doozy of a time but you have a wonderful outlook. I’m so thankful that when I became disabled my oldest son had graduated high school and my younger son had less severe issues that I didn’t have to be as “on top of him” as the older one. All of that being said, I now realize how fortunate I was to have my husband doing the “mundane” everyday things like going food shopping or doing laundry while I handled all of the medical and school needs. He also shared the after school extra curricular activities with me so I didn’t have to run around every night, and we could divide and conquer when the boys’ activities conflicted with each other. Now, I’m dependent upon him to do everything. Thankfully, my parents are around to take me to my Dr appointments so he doesn’t have to take off work (don’t get me started on the guilt that comes from my elderly parents taking care of me when they should be enjoying their retirement or at least have me doing things for them!). Life definitely likes to throw us curveballs - some more than others, but you definitely have a great perspective for all of us to follow. I truly hope things calm down for you and get more under control. My thoughts are with you. Thank you for sharing 💜💜💜
Thanks, Sharon!!!! It's hard to not go outside and try to find that rain cloud that's following you.... if you know what I mean. I'm trying to remind myself this is just what is happening NOW - things will be different (better) soon. I appreciate people like you so much. Truly - you inspire me JUST as much as you say I inspire you. 💙💙💙
I’m sorry you have so much going on, your video was very encouraging and helpful. The point about being in a plane and looking after yourself first is so true! I hope your fur baby is better. Looking forward to your next video. xxx
Norrine , I so much appreciate you and your thoughtfulness! Your heart of compassion. You are a blessing in my life. You keep things real. Blessings to you. AE
My main problem is procrastinating, but when I decide to something everything just gets too overwhelming. The phone rings, dinner cooking knock at door, table full of paperwork to sort bills, kids want to talk, letters from school, dishwasher needs emptying, I stub my toe, I burn myself, remember to take my medication, answer emails.... I go back to procrastinating.... If I don't move or try and do something then I am safe, I am zoned out , I hurt, I feel like the worst mum in the world 😒❤️
That's exactly how my days feel if I don't plan! Phone calls can wait - door can't. Paperwork can go in a bit to sort tomorrow - Kids wanting to talk can't. Letter from school can be opened in the morning - dishwasher need to be emptied to put dinner dishes in for a smoother morning. Toe and burn will not happen because you are already calmer....... You have a reminder on your phone for your medication.... emails are after you sort the mail in the morning. You are the BEST Mom because you are trying to stay on top of ALL of that for your kids. 💐 Practice the prioritizing.... and treat yourself to a few slow moments. You deserve them 💙
You are so awesome! This is SO IMPORTANT for people to understand, especially those of us with chronic conditions! Not taking on everything & LEARNING to say no was one of hardest things I had to adapt to. I went from an environment where I was ALWAYS go, go, go & working 60-80 hours a week to having chronic illnesses overnight & at a young age! I used to think I was invincible.. I know I have mentioned I was in the hospital after getting sick before, I learned how to deal with my pain & a lot of basic skills again. But we also learned mindfulness! I 100% agree, mindfulness is one of the BEST tools for coping with stress, pain, sleepless nights, anxiety, depression, and I practice it daily now & have found it can also be extremely uplifting! For anyone looking to get into mindfulness (yes Norrine is right, there are some that are a little out there) Jon Kabbat Zen is a great place to start! He offers a lot of excellent free stuff online, both short (5 -10 mins) to long sessions up to an hour & beyond- which I would recommend after you are comfortable doing shorter sessions. What I love about Jon Kabbat Zen his experience & knowledge in mindfulness, people can also listen to his lectures if they are interested in knowing more about it! But he is a GREAT PLACE TO START! He deals with chronic pain & depression as well. I hope your fur baby is doing better! We had 2 dogs & I have 2 cats, one of our dogs passed away this summer. It was really difficult, our other little dog is getting old. My dad has built ramps for him all over so he can get up & down the stairs. But he also problems with not being able to hold it until he gets outside. He isn’t in pain, he is happy dog but he is getting old. We will take care of him until he goes to doggy heaven. You are an inspiration, since I started watching your channel my life has gotten more organized! I agree that sometimes we just can’t do what we can’t do, I also had to put off renewing my tags 😂 I was sick, in the hospital, so they were a month late. One of my neighbors said, wow I just wouldn’t be able to sleep. I said it’s only a sticker for your vehicle, sometimes you just have to take care of more important things, my health is a little more important than a sticker! Thank you again for these videos, I really appreciate them & YOU! I’m sending lots of hugs & warm wishes to you & your family! I hope everyone is feeling better & one thing my family reminds each other of is - we have each other, we are lucky to have each other. I believe having support is so important, having loving support can make a world of difference.
Thank you for the tips i just needed this. I just had he same stress week . I got none of the things i wanted to do, but as you say they will be there tomorrow, I need to take a leaf from your book. Such wise words. I hope your fur baby is much better and everyone is much better now. god bless you and your family. love your videos cheers Deb
What really helps me, even just for a few minutes, is to go outside or open a window and listen to the birds. Birds calm me in such a big way. In the summer I go out onto the deck and watch the birds on my line of bird feeders. I close my eyes and just listen. It is an amazing calming feeling!! If it is winter I can just crack open my window and listen. I have 2 bird feeders outside of my living room window in a huge bush. I love to watch them fly in and out, chirp, sing and eat. Maybe I am weird, but birds just calm me in a way that nothing else does. When my 2 cardinals are here then I know my mum and dad are here with me too! ❤️
Great tips! Yes, writing a list and prioritizing things really helps - otherwise, it's like bees swarming around your head - "I gotta do this...and this...and this..." etc. Putting it down on paper lets you assess things. Thanks for posting the download. When I get overloaded, I often prioritize by the consequences if I don't act, and even then, I cut myself some slack by telling myself, "I'm doing the best that I can with the resources and knowledge that I have right now." (Because we all have 20/20 hindsight!) And, as the song goes, "When I get worried, and I can't sleep, I count my blessings instead of sheep...and I fall asleep, counting my blessings." Spending a little time outside helps, too! And, remember to keep breathing! :-)
I will pray your sons get better soon! I have gone off sugar too since September1 but I do what you do, if after I eat it isn't satisfying I have a little treat. It helps a lot and keeps me on my path. We are retired now so life has changed a lot and I don't have the demands I did when I owned my own business. Thank you for sharing your wisdom it is so helpful. I hold you in my heart. By the way, it is ok to tell clients you don't have an opening until the end of October, that happens all the time when I call a professional so don't worry about it. Just ask them to set the date now and you will see them later.
Thank you for sharing.....the bad times make us appreciate the wonderful times. I am so sorry you have been bombarded with all the stress and struggles. I once lived in a situation that was so bad I had health issues because of them. A good friend told me to remember one sentence when things were so bad..... “It won’t always be this way.” That simple sentence helped me to get to a place of sanity so many times. Praying that you will have great days ahead.
Opened your video as soon as I saw it!! Love your channel💕 I am a total list maker. Every night I make a list for the following day(usually longer than what's realistic). Can't sleep if I don't... sometimes I can't sleep anyway😳. My body becomes so exhausted, and my brain is like " blah blah blahblahblah...."!!!! I am a planner, as well. Don't like a wrench thrown into my plans, though I also know the priority can change at any time. Life can sure keep us hopping!!🐰
Thanks for sharing with us. I hope your fur baby is feeling much better. It’s not easy to juggle all the challenges that you have been dealing with. As you pointed out, tending to the priorities and saying no to the extras is great advice to the Clutter Fairy community! Take good care of yourself and hoping things smooth out for you soon. Sending lots of virtual support!!!❤️
Thank you sweetie 😊 hope Domino and your kiddos get better soon. My mom always says, nobody lives under a roof without problems... when an illness is added to your already stressed 😫 out life, well it’s a real challenge to manage and maintain a sense of balance. Take care, be well, be blessed. Maddy N Y 😎🤗🤗🤗🎈💐🧚🏻♀️🐶🦋🦄🍁🌻🌺🌷🌼🍉🥑🍌🍓🍊🍎🥨🍟🍕🥗🥪🍰🍪
Norrine, I am glad you mentioned trying healthy snacking first...but if that ice cream is calling your name, have some. Some of us do need comfort food to help us settle down at the end of a stressful day. I also liked the Family Guy comparison to the cell phone! My goodness, that was spot on! The phone can drive you nuts if you let it “take over.” THANK YOU for sharing. Hang in there, you are a fine, strong woman. You are like the WWII poster of the woman flexing her muscles 😊. ❤️2U
Wow Noriin, you really are incredible. So much helpful information and inspiration here. I've realized how fortunate I am to have found you....thank you so much!
Thank you so much for sharing!!!! Thank you for the reminder that we need to stop and take a moment for ourselves in order to truly help others (that's my biggest challenge)!!! I had one of those days today where nothing at all went right. I'm a mom of 3 wonderful children (6y, 4y and 19m). Sometimes it feels like I'm a single parent. And the icing on the cake was a spat with my husband because I just couldn't handle the one more thing he threw at me when he came home as I was putting away groceries. If I had just slowed down and taken that 5 minutes here or there, I may have been able to handle it with grace and understanding instead of frustration and anger.
YES!!! I gave myself lots of mommy guilt for being short tempered - because I was overextended and plain exhausted! If I could go back to when my kids were younger - taking tiny breaks would have been the best gift I could have given myself and my kids. 💙
Great video, something in there for us all to learn. I think we need to learn to simply say "no" more often (know your limits as you poined out). Self care is so important to function at your best. We all learn the hard way, lol! Over the past few months I've been organising my duties better to avail of when my hubby is at home to look after the kids, rather than using my free times for chores. So far so good. However I watched (well, listened more like) to your video in one window while reading emails on another....but hey, it works for me, xx
Yes to it all...I'm a list maker..I LOVE to check off the finished projects..it is so rewarding..I use a calendar for work and a calendar for family..I'm not much for planners but I guess they are the same..😄
I'm so sorry to hear that so much has hit you all at once. Life is like that. Years ago I didn't get the recall on my dogs food. Diarrhea was so awful; she almost died. It costs over two hundred twenty a month for her food, but she's doing well now, and I'm afraid to take a chance on changing her diet. I'm raising grandsons now, and life sure can get stressful. I hope your next week is laid back so you get to catch up. Great advice!!!
Domino has been eating better the me this week!!! LOL He's getting ground chicken, rice, and plain yogurt 3x a day! He's like my 3rd child. Thanks for the sweet words - and kudos for raising your grandson! That must be tough - and a huge blessing all mixed into one. xoxoxo
I am so thankful for you. I have been seeing a counselor for quite a while for my bi-polar 2. You tell us the same thing. Having you back up everything she has told me, is great. I always learn more from someone who has walked in my shoes. Blessings to you and your family. Prayers for health and strength for your little one. I have to also share with you that I have found a couple of new crafts to do. It's helping me so much. I take it in small steps and it's awesome.
Thank you for posting this video and sharing your story. Even though I know I am not alone, its comforting to know that others go thru life challenges and how they handle it. I really like the timer issue. I used that for my kids but never thought of it for my self.. THANK YOU
Thank you for your Words of Wisdom. You seem to have a knack of posting videos that I need to hear. When I was working I have 2 pages of things to do both for work and home and I could get it all done. Now I can’t work and I can’t even cross off 2 thinks on my list each day. I find that since I don’t have a “deadline” for things to be done I just can’t seem to get motivated to do anything as it can wait until tomorrow and guess what when tomorrow comes around I can still put it off until tomorrow and I don’t know how to get off this merry go round. I am a list maker and I know I should not put everything that needs to be done for the week on 1 list and I should break them down just what needs to be done for that day which I am trying to do and watching and rewatching your videos always help me when I can’t work out what to do, I just sit, watch and listen to your soothing voice and it does not seem be as stressful. I am also going to pinch the quote that is just behind your right shoulder and I think I am going to make it my affirmation for the rest of the year. Thank you so much for your videos I hope you know how much they help both with organisation of our environments and our minds. Hugs from Australia and I hope all your babies, human and fur are on the mend.
Oh, Carla - Send me a quick message at CallClutterFairy@gmail.com I will make you that sign so you can print it off 💙 Here's an idea for you..... start your day by picking 1 or 2 things from your list of lists that you feel like you can tackle that day. And make a "I can do this Today" list! I appreciate lists and the breakdown of them.... but I am going to guess you are still making lists based on what you used to be able to do. Appreciate what and who you are NOW.... and make a realistic list based on how you feel each day. This way you are setting yourself up for success AND still getting things marked off your lists. Hope this helps.
Good morning , I’m a new subscriber, thank you for your advice it help me a lot. I wish you the best ! And “ one day at the time “Have a wonderful weekend!

Many years ago, I tried selling Tupperware (failed). But in their training, they said to write down EVERY committment in your date book, including "me time" things. This was supposed to show a really full and busy schedule and encourage potential customers to hurry up and get a booking with you. It didn't work for me, but from what you've said of your situation, it can work the other way for you: instead of having to say "no" outright, you can simply say, "I'm booked for this month, but I can get you in next month."
I have always had trouble delegating. I fall victim to the "if you want it done right, do it yourself" philosophy. Often, depending on the project, I can't really say what I need someone else to help with anyway, as I'm often winging it, and don't know what step is next until I get there myself. ;-)
Hope your kids and fur baby are all okay now!
Great things you learned from Tupperware!!!! Thank you!
Sending a huge hug for you.Thank you for being honest.
I’m sorry you have so much going on, your video was very encouraging and helpful. The point about being in a plane and looking after yourself first is so true! I hope your fur baby is better. Looking forward to your next video. xxx
Thanks, Rachel xoxox
I moved 5 years ago from a 9 room house to. A small apartment. Your videos have helped me to declutter. Your videos are therapy for me. Thank you.
That is so exciting to hear!!!! Thank you!
Norrine , I so much appreciate you and your thoughtfulness! Your heart of compassion. You are a blessing in my life. You keep things real. Blessings to you. AE
Sending hugs for a better week of peace! :-)
Thank you, Lolla!!!! I hope you are feeling all better now. It's people like you who keep me inspired and motivated 💙
Thank you for the tips i just needed this. I just had he same stress week . I got none of the things i wanted to do,
but as you say they will be there tomorrow, I need to take a leaf from your book. Such wise words. I hope your fur baby is much better and everyone is much better now.
god bless you and your family. love your videos cheers Deb
Sounds like you have a full plate but happy that you are prioritizing your and family's need and praying that all will be resolved soon. TFS 🙏
Thanks for sharing! I've certainly had my share of those kind of days and have gotten better at letting things go!
Going outside totally grounds me too..... Thanks, Jennifer!
Thank you so much for sharing. 🙏🏻✝️😍
Thank you 🙏. You’re appreciated. Sending you lots of love and light
I agree! Giving yourself those little pep talks helps too!
Life gets real. Thanks for your vulnerability. You are a blessing.
Thank you, Myrna!!!!!
Oh my gosh - we are mind twins! I can't sleep if I don't have things mapped out. Crazy brain won't let me.
My mom always says, nobody
lives under a roof without problems... when an illness is added to your already stressed 😫 out life,
well it’s a real challenge to manage and maintain a sense of balance. Take care, be well, be blessed.
Maddy N Y 😎🤗🤗🤗🎈💐🧚🏻♀️🐶🦋🦄🍁🌻🌺🌷🌼🍉🥑🍌🍓🍊🍎🥨🍟🍕🥗🥪🍰🍪
Thank you so much, Madeline. xoxoxo
Norrine,
I am glad you mentioned trying healthy snacking first...but if that ice cream is calling your name, have some. Some of us do need comfort food to help us settle down at the end of a stressful day.
I also liked the Family Guy comparison to the cell phone! My goodness, that was spot on! The phone can drive you nuts if you let it “take over.”
THANK YOU for sharing. Hang in there, you are a fine, strong woman. You are like the WWII poster of the woman flexing her muscles 😊.

AMEN!
Thanks for great thoughts of prioritize life.
Helpful ideas.
Praying everyone is healthy and happy soon!
Wow Noriin, you really are incredible. So much helpful information and inspiration here. I've realized how fortunate I am to have found you....thank you so much!
I'm so sorry about your furbaby. I have 4 of my own and 2 grandpuppies that live here and totally understand how awful it is when they get diarrhea
Thank you so much. You are appreciated and your ideas are great.
Yes to it all...I'm a list maker..I LOVE to check off the finished projects..it is so rewarding..I use a calendar for work and a calendar for family..I'm not much for planners but I guess they are the same..😄
Bless your heart. I hope everyone is doing better! You are so wise and kind :)
Thank you, Carol! I'd love to know what crafts you are doing! Maybe it can help someone else. Blessings to you as well 💙
Thank you for posting this video and sharing your story. Even though I know I am not alone, its comforting to know that others go thru life challenges and how they handle it. I really like the timer issue. I used that for my kids but never thought of it for my self.. THANK YOU
Excellent advise!!! Sometimes a good reminder helps us all!! 🍂🍄💛🍁🧡
You are a great mother and person. Great advise and so true. I wish so much joy to you and your family. May God always bless you.
Thank you so much, Margaret! Same to you 💜
Thank you for your Words of Wisdom.
Thank you so much. You are right! Greets from a stressed young mom in germany
We will get through this together! 💙
Look after yourself love from Australia

Thank you, Lisa!
Good morning , I’m a new subscriber, thank you for your advice it help me a lot. I wish you the best ! And “ one day at the time “Have a wonderful weekend!
💐
Sadly so many do not realize the value of "me" time. You can never help another if you won't help you! It is necessary and we all fail at it at times.
SO TRUE! Or, our value is only based on what we've done for others, with guilt for doing anything for ourselves. That mindset needs a re-set.
Good
I love you miss Norrine! You are my inspiration! I look forward to your videos they give me hope to get my business back up. I also want to work on book an another business/PURPOSE for my life.
My spine surgery is scheduled for Nov 21st and im scared bcus my sister just died out of the blue. She wasn't sick it just happened! I want my life back bcus its been 4yrs of living with this severe debilitating pain. Im normally not afraid but after this sudden loss, im terrified!
Oh my gosh, Aqua Fina I'm so sorry for your loss!!!! You have been moving forward this year - take some time to grieve.... keep using your helper that has been such a blessing - and let's look positively at Nov 21st as your opportunity to get your life back!!!!! One of my workers had spinal surgery the beginning of June - It was a long recovery.... but she just came back to work with me this week and feels great! I am sending all of the positive energy and positive thoughts your way 💙
@@TheCraftyOrganizer , thx so much. I have grieved as much as i could so far. Grief is such an unstable long process. Ive been here b4 when my son's dad passed when we were 32 and my son was 5.
Thx so much for your continued kind words and encouragement. I TRULY APPRECIATE YOU!❤

Where does one live to hve your car smogged? I never heard of that lol.
I live in California - 32 of the 50 states in the USA require our cars to be smog checked to help the air quality. :)
I live in Canada and it’s law everywhere here. Every other year before your birthdate it has to be done or they won’t renew your license sticker. It’s to help with pollution. Been going on for more then 10 years now. 💝😺
Ya that took me back a minute😜
Growing up in Az it was emission test; living in Tn for the last 3 decades its “Marta” not sure where that came from lol
Sorry, you lost me when you said your dog was ill with diarrhea so you plunked him outside. 😟
Sorry, Elsa. I promise.... I was out rubbing his tummy and nurturing him after I got things cleaned up. He's my furry 3rd child. 💙
