Its beautiful! I know what you mean by small house. We lived in a 629 sg ft house. No closets no cabinets. 4 people a dog and 2 kitties. It drove me crazy. But now in a much larger home, I'm taking your 15 min advice. It helps so much since I'm disabled and very limited to what I can do. So thank you😊

Hello Clutter Fairy, thanks for the encouragement. You fluttered through the house tidying up in no time at all. Your home seems warm and inviting with autumn decorations. I'm going to try this method of decluttering.

I have been going through chemo and radiation treatments so no energy. My husband just started back to work and he is getting physically use being on 3rd shift. Tomorrow is my last radiation treatment. Yay!!! It will take time for my energy level to ramp up but I will be working at getting my home back in order. My cousin had volunteered to help me get started. You take time for yourself and family. Don’t you ever worry about what others think. What works for you in your own home and life is no one else’s business. I live in a small town and I am from a large married into another large family. I have never had any problems with nosy neighbors or family. My husband and I know how to politely remind that we pay the bills.

I love your home. You are great at designing your home and it looks so nice. It takes me 15 minutes to just get started because of my limitations. However I do take a little at a time and that is better then sitting around doing nothing and complaining about my pain. My house isn't immaculate but it's not cluttered or dirty either.

What I love about the timer is it helps with the dread... and that is often the difficult part to overcome. If I don't feel like continuing after 15 - I know I tried and will walk away and try again later or another day. 💙

Oh Norrine! You are so wonderful to have as an "advisor". I live with chronic illness, and I WAY over did yesterday. Today I hurt, but not too bad, and I just don't feel like doing anything!!! Hubby is coming home for lunch and I'm setting my 15 min to start his lunch and make it something that looks worth eating! HaHAHA. I get 2 boosts for the price of one. One for getting off my rump, and one for doing something for someone else. Thank you seems so inadequate, but I send a heartfelt thank you and hugs. Aimee

I gave up my bedroom for my 12 year old grandson. His 6 year old brother kept getting into his electronics, so it was easier for me to move into the sunroom than to have the extra stress. I love what you did with your room divider. It looks like it was made for that spot.

What an awesome mom doing what you do for your kids!!!
A little tip that my husband came up with for the laundry - I don’t know if you have a dryer or hang dry, but it’ll work either way. When you take your items out/or off, fold them immediately. It takes a few extra seconds to do it, but it makes putting things away so much easier. You can have a basket for you and one for each kiddo, or one for both, but fold your clothes into your basket and theirs into their basket. I hope that helps! Thank you for sharing 💜

Wow Norine, this was an eye opener for me! I noticed that when you got through that first 18 min., how it seemed to 'mentally' inspire you to continue and that's was really hit me. Now 15 min. might not seem like much time to do any chore, I learned that the point is that the act of accomplishing that, meant that you 'accomplished it', if you know what I mean. For me, I am a chronic pain patient and it truly taught me that 15 min. is better than nothing. I'm going to set my timer every day for the 1st week, and I'm hoping that it too will inspire me to hit it again, for another 15 min. clean up. Well done, Norine....I know it's a lot tougher taking your own advice than it is to give it! Thank you so much for sharing, dear!

Tried the 25/5 minute method (work for 25 then 5 minute break) but i found 25 minutes too overwhelming... i'd always get interrupted or lose momentum. 15 minute projects are more manageable. Timing your tasks is a good idea too. I used to think doing the dishes (by hand) & cleaning up the kitchen after meals took an HOUR....then one day i timed it. It was like 23 minutes!! I was shocked. Stripping the bed & remaking....was only 18 minutes. The "dread" makes it seem longer lol. Like u say, putting some favorite music on helps. I now have a small tv (hgtv channel of course) & an undercabinet radio in kitchen...keeps my mind active doing the MUNDANE or just while cooking meals. Great video!! ...will help a lot of people.

Thank you for helping me to figure out how to stop the over whelming issue I have with cleaning. Doing it in 15 min increments then break hope will help with my depression and getting things done with out the pain I put myself through everytime I clean. I will try this when I get off work tonight. your house looks so cute and I remember when I lived in a house like that with 3 kids and my boyfriend (hubby now) it was a 2 bedroom, 1 bath, Den, kitchen, living room, laundry on the back porch that was closed in & dining room. Then den was our bedroom, boys in one bedroom and my daughter in the 2nd. Loved that little house. I watch your videos and you look like my friends mom (Sue Kenner) and it warms my heart to see you. Hugs and keep up the great job. Love from Utah.

It is amazing what doing one section of cleaning time, or area,
can do! Sometimes I do an area, sometimes I set the timer. But it sure motivates me to do another, if I don't have to be somewhere else.
We had a room divider in our house growing up. Dad moved their double bed behind it when Mom was recovering from pneumonia, since we had a 2 story house, and she was supposed to limit use of stairs. The.divider ended up staying, after her recovery, and the bed taken back upstrs.
Love your little house. So charming!

Thank you for sharing. I've also had a difficult week with my youngest, but I've tried to keep up just 15 minutes a day sorting out a different area. 🙏 that things settle down soon for you and your family xx

Love you Norrine!! Am I going to do it today? Nooo...camera side to side....lol! You did a great job, your house is beautiful! I am always telling my kiddos life is all about perspective. We also have a "cozy" amount of space but we make the most of it...so often the lines are blurred between want & need, but taking a step back & being grateful for whatever you have is awesome. Love your petition idea, it looks great. Yes, you & your body deserve a good bed to sleep in you work hard..I know I'm with ya, single mom of 2 myself. Some things can't be short changed, take care of you! Great video as always, & hi Domino, so glad you're better & prayers for you & your children. GBY all, I'm off to set my own timer!

I got a few new rolling storage cart a few weeks ago and start cleaning up my craft supplies and I just do about 15-30 minutes a day and I am so happy with my progress! It is surprised that how much I can get done just by doing a little bit a day! You looked tire, hopefully you can get some rest and everything will be back to normal soon.

Well done you!! I think the separated space for a bed for yourself works well. At the moment I am still recovering from surgery so I am very limited with what I can do...but I still will spend 5 to 15 mins doing small tasks so not everything becomes overwhelming and I feel better for achieving even those small steps

I love them all but I am taking a little bit from arc one because I am truly trying to declutter and purge. I have to for my mental health, I do suffer with depression and I have to get motivated one way or another and your strategies and just looking at your videos which I am binge watching today because I just have to is great. I thank you for your videos even though they are not most recent and even recent ones are very helpful. Thank you thank you. Your pleasant voice is soothing as well. May God continue blessing you and your family. 🙏🏾💯❤️

Your house is adorable and i really LOVE how you created a bed nook for yourself. . . Now please don't take this as anything negative but .. my OCD is wishing that box on top of the black divider was pushed to the center of the shelf it's sitting on.
Thats the only detail in your beautiful immaculate home that seems out of place. Thank you for this video, it's very encouraging to see what can be accomplished in a very short amount of time.

I know you did this video a couple years ago, but thought I would respond because it really helped me today! It is winter break for me and I am finally able to take on some of the things that have just had to wait while I got the students through the first part of the school year. YES. AND - if 15 minutes is too daunting (those of us with health issues may not have that much energy), then 10 or 5. Choose an amount of time that will let you accomplish "something" (anything) and reassess at the end of the time to see if you have the energy to take on another task or continue with the current task. I try, when my energy and brain can do it, to put one thing more away than the current task's requirement: for example, when cleaning up after sewing, I sweep the floor under the cutting table/machine, AND ALSO the hallway outside the craft room. Or if I am having a bad day, I set the timer for 5 minutes, allow myself to sit and rest for 10, and then continue the task. My priorities in order are: safety and health for the household (is there a clear path to the door if there's an emergency, is the kitchen clean enough to safely prepare food), grooming and hygiene (do I have cleaning and grooming materials ready to go so I can get ready in the shortest time possible?), family and pets, work (I try to not bring school tasks home but I do so I can have some peace and uninterrupted think time!), crafts and gardening. When I am at school I am "all in" and often deplete all my energy, so there aren't a lot of things I can do most evecnnings and weekends, but this particular prioritization works okay for me. THANK YOU for your carefully crafted, honest videos that bring so much calm and help every time I see them.
