- Hi everyone, and welcome back to another devlog for N.E.S.T! Unfortunately, because holidays are now over and university has started again, I spent a tonne of time packing, moving into my tiny student flat and also prepping for the academic year (like enrolling in classes, clubs etc.). Anyway, in this video I discuss the progress I made in the second week! Hope you enjoy! See you in two weeks! :)

N.E.S.T is an action-packed, looter-shooter mobile game that entrusts you to save Earth from an alien invasion after a rogue interstellar radio message leads them straight here. Unconventionally however, these aliens don't arrive via spaceships. Instead, large nests crash into Earth's surface, and it is up to you to destroy them all before the aliens regain their full strength, and take over our beloved planet.

I get blown away by how many great and well implemented things you've managed to add in each devlog! Awesome stuff! And you should keep the default dance as an easter egg ;)... or you know... maybe not... yeah I think the game would do just fine without now that I think about it xD

Back on the school grind! The new menus and sounds are nice! The map scene looks really clean as well. And the fortnite default dance hahaha. Also, did you film the drone shots at the beginning? They look cool :D

Great update! Those clicking sounds before the weapon crate is opened, I think it would sound cool if each click got increased pitch. That would make the anticipation much greater :D

I genuinely thought the first 10s are a non-skippable ad 😂For the character customisation, if you have the item in your inventory already you could make the background of the pannel that shows what item you're currently looking at a different colour (not red) and make it red when you don't have it. It would probably require you to change the colour palette a bit so it's not ideal. Also I'm all about minimalistic UI's, show me flat colours and I'll be happy 😄

Haha! xD Thanks for the feedback! I agree that I definitely still need to look into a better colour palette and improve on the minimalistic design of my UI! The problem though is that it just takes so long to do, and by the end of designing, it feels as if no progress has been made! Hopefully I'll get around to that before the next devlog though! :P Thanks for the support!

Congrats on the 500! Your list of tasks is pretty large; how do you keep focus with such a long road in front of you? Also, did you buy/download the animations for the character dance? I know nothing about character animation yet, so I am keen to learn a little. Great video, sir, keep them coming!
Thanks Rob! It's definitely challenging, especially with university now having started again, but I'm determined to finish this project! :) I downloaded the FBX files for the animation by just searching Google (they're quite popular since lots of people make memes about it), and then modified it to fit the bone structure of a humanoid rig! :D
Great video ;) Im stucked. i would be glad how to solve if i have a character.. and i want to add new cloth model how to make it ? How can the new model follow the animations ?
