I have both a 12 pro max and an 8 plus. The 12pm is my daily driver, but honestly the 8+ still holds up very well in comparison and IMO is still the best looking iPhone. If they do come out with an SE+ with the same design that will be my next phone. The camera & battery are better on the 12pm but otherwise, I really don't notice THAT much difference performance-wise. If you're looking for a great phone but don't have a lot to spend, a good condition used 8+ is an excellent option.
Totally agree with this. I typically sell my old iphone when I upgrade (usually every second model). I got a 12 pro max about 10 months ago, but still prefer the 8 plus as a reasonably lightweight allrounder. The extra weight of the 12 pro max gave me tennis elbow pain! As others have said, the 12PM has a superior camera, but the 8+ is definitely still a very relevant and usable model
I currently have a iPhone 8 Plus with 256. This has been the best phone. I play my games , watch UA-cam videos. It takes amazing photos. Fits in my pocket easily. I love my phone!
My girlfriend just replaced hers for the iPhone 11 after 3.5 years of consecutive use, and I have to say that this phone really held its own. I replaced her screen multiple times and her battery one time. It still looks brand new especially that back glass.
8+ is surely one of the top 5 iphones until now. I sold mine as I needed urgent cash and also because I started feeling its only minus.. The weight. Its not heavy like heavy. But I like light phones, don't mind having a smaller screen or plastic body, as I type and hold the phone a lot. Seeing movies is not my top priority. Making calls, taking notes, having atleast 256 memory as I store everything (and iphone is best in being able to find them.. Just save in notes with a name label), catching a quicky photo, having it in my pocket without me knowing it, holding it in one hand with my wallet etc are my priorities on a phone. So I'm either downgrading to a 8 or getting a se 2020 256
Hear me out. iPhone 8 Plus Touch ID bottom with 12 Pro size without notch. Best of both world. I love seeing my battery percentage without having to pull the corner screen down.
This phone is anything but durable as you said. My brand new 3 day out of the box iPhone 8 dropped from about 3 inches high (with a case) and the back is still shattered to this day, because repairing it costs more than the actual phone. I still use the phone and its still super fast and great but the back is a mess.
I still have an iphone 7. I never had an iPhone without touch id. I don’t know the feeling of having face id and no home button, so i am still in love with touch id.
Just bought an Iphone 8 plus with 100 percent battery health and 256gb just made the best decision of my life. I am now using this as my secondary device with my Samsung S10e using IOS and Android combo is best. I am just annoyed that I can't charge it with my Iphone 6s plus charger but it works with an OEM charger from Alibaba. Also I am annoyed with the lock delay if I click the side button.
I just get my iPhone 8 plus Space Grey still did not receive it i really can nooot wait for it (it's my first iOS device in my life upgraded from my old 2gb ram android device)
I use iPhone 8 plus since it was out. Till today I got my screen changed 6 times and back panel changed twice, I still dont feel like changing it. It's still a lovely phone to use.
Using the iPhone 8 Plus I bought at release. Never used the lightning port! Much prefer the 16:9 screen for media and LCD as OLED makes me ill! NO NOTCH ruining the screen! Be keeping it a few more years!👍🏻
Finally someone mentions OLED! I'm considering waiting five years or so until Apple starts using a screen that isn't a torture device for the eyes and brain. The last LCD screen is the I phone 11 (not pro). I'm trying to figure out if the modem in the thing is worse than the modem in the iPhone 8 (I think it is).
Since I got my iphone 8+ last year it works completely fine even in 2021. Not slow at all, functions very well for an older device and the battery life is still good since I'm not on it as much. Not thinking about upgrading to one of the newer iphones anytime soon. Great video Brandon.
I *ALMOST* got the 8 Plus the year that the XS Series was released and ended up getting the XS Max from my old iPhone 7. Ive always wanted the plus sized phone and thankfully fate let me wait til the XS Max came out lol but this phone still looks worthy to buy!
I had a iPhone 📱+ 256gb but the battery was at 66% I had it over 3yrs or so it’s a beautiful phone still love it but I upgraded to the iPhone 11 Pro Max and I love the new features of it so I will always say the 8+ is still my baby
I prefer the 8 + over the xr and 11. I just downgraded to it from my 11 - I prefer the wider display and it's full 1080P 401 ppi opposed to the 11 which has 326 ppi and isnt full 1080P.
Hi iphone 8 plus users....! I'm thinking of getting one as switching from Android. There were a few things I was wondering... - is it easy to put the torch on? You can shake my Motorola which is very useful! - is the volume decent when calling? - and can you allow specific numbers to call while on 'silent'? Thanks so much!
I went from 7+ to the X to the 11 and went back to the 8+ not because of nostalgia or the times but because its the best phone for your buck and the last best iteration of that model. No other iPhone after has truly captured the magic of apple. The notch NEVER grew on me, gets in the way of everything, gaming, wallpapers, watching content and anything to do in landscape mode. Aside from the notch it's the traditional and still face of iPhones, no matter if you've used one or not you can tell that's an iPhone a mile away. The real fullscreen display on the 8+ is satisfying to read content off from, its an iPhone with withe instead of length. Home button for the win any day.
jUST bought an original 8 plus red version from a Chinese TAOBAO vendor, my colleague helped me buy from china, received the device, and checked everything working great... and the components are all original.... still a good value.. it cost me CNY 1660, 258 USD ...i am happy for it
Just upgraded from a 7plus to a 12pro. Didn’t take me long to get use to Face ID, but if Apple drop’s a phone this year in the same size & add Touch ID I’m probably gonna upgrade again and hold on to it for 5 years...
My iPhone 11 Pro fell from my pocket and broke its display, I always disliked older iPhones because of its big bezels but I had to go budget and buy iPhone 8+ and its amazing Im not thinking about changing it.
I love my 8plus cus the phone is just a tad wider which makes it better to type on in portrait mode. Also the 8plus is a beast. I wouldn’t be surprised if it got iOS 18 or even 19 if Apple really try’s
I have an 8 plus 256GB since the day it was released and I was willing to upgrade this year, buuuut had my doubts and after watching this video I won't do anything till 2021's iphone 13 or may be even the next year. Thanks for keeping my mind at peace :)
i bought iphone 8 plus about 3 years ago. it still works on today, no any repair, and no any faults. battery health has never been replaced, it is still 92% because i don't usually use my phone much (expect for some times). however i will upgrade to new iphone soon, as i don't think my iphone 8 plus will still be supported to future ios for longer 😕
As a legally blind (low vision) person, I often want to wear my iPhone 8 Plus on my wrist using an armband and because it has a bezel, I can use one that holds the phone in place safely without blocking the screen and this is not possible with any of the later models. Furthermore, one of my genetic eyesight disorders is nystagmus which I believe might prevent Face ID from working, although going to an Apple store does not allow anyone to test this without first buying a $1000 phone and optionally, immediately returning it. So I’m going to stick with my 8+ at least until Apple comes out with a new phone with touch ID and preferably also a bezel large enough to accommodate an armband which can hold a phone as firmly as the one I’m using… or until they come up with a 6 inch screen Apple Watch, which ever comes first.
Replying this from my iPhone 8 Plus, speaking from personal experience, I find this phone is still very responsive on daily usage. Mainly using it for work, which means just messaging, calling, some photography and no gaming basically. Battery life is reasonable, it got wireless charging as well. Not all day battery but it have excellent standby time. Of course will feel the speed difference when comparing with my iPhone 12 pro max. Just for my usage, I feel this phone can easily use for another year or two with no problem.
Got mine 4y ago and still running smooth (sometimes the keyboard is not as fast as my writing anymore) but battery on 88% after this time and everyday watching yt videos
My husband will NOT trade his 8 plus!! My 11 is no where as good as the 8 plus! My sound on 11 is terrible and as you said the pressure sensitivity is a joke for me.

Haven’t used a screen protector since the iPhone 6s Plus. I don’t need it, ruins the full experience.
Using 8 plus. Still a beast👊💪
Whats about its battery performance?
@@umerchaudhry233 battery is still good had mine since 2019
This phone is anything but durable as you said.
@rAy Lopèz It’s expensive
Been using iPhone 8+ since launch and it’s really solid!
My wife has an 8 Plus; it's a great phone.
Still kicking mine, it still looks brand new
I just get my iPhone 8 plus Space Grey still did not receive it i really can nooot wait for it (it's my first iOS device in my life upgraded from my old 2gb ram android device)
Watching this video using 8 plus..still great after changing the battery..
How much is the cost when changing battery?
I use iPhone 8 plus since it was out. Till today I got my screen changed 6 times and back panel changed twice, I still dont feel like changing it. It's still a lovely phone to use.
6 times😮??
SAme here
my dream iphone, one day i will have one, hope it won't be too late
Wish u dha best❤❤
Home button for the win any day.
jUST bought an original 8 plus red version from a Chinese TAOBAO vendor, my colleague helped me buy from china, received the device, and checked everything working great... and the components are all original.... still a good value.. it cost me CNY 1660, 258 USD ...i am happy for it
You could buy them new still straight from apple if not from there then straight talks website I got the new SE for $150 the red one
Just upgraded from a 7plus to a 12pro. Didn’t take me long to get use to Face ID, but if Apple drop’s a phone this year in the same size & add Touch ID I’m probably gonna upgrade again and hold on to it for 5 years...
I upgraded from an 8 plus to 11 pro and I miss that 8 plus so much! Easily my favorite phone I have ever owned.
I upgraded to XS and I still miss my 8 Plus. If I didn't break it I'd still own it today
My brother still own iphone8+ this as well as my mother. They love this since we all wear mask this pandemic.
My iPhone 11 Pro fell from my pocket and broke its display, I always disliked older iPhones because of its big bezels but I had to go budget and buy iPhone 8+ and its amazing Im not thinking about changing it.
Please bro is the phone having a good camera 🎥 quality and good portrait
@@ndzindongmuhcystus2941 cameras quality is good but in portrait mode.... not good as iphone x+ of course but still gets the job done
Thanks
Just got ip8+ red product, & it amazing and still working like a beast. I love home button & i dont take x/xs max.....
I love my 8plus cus the phone is just a tad wider which makes it better to type on in portrait mode. Also the 8plus is a beast. I wouldn’t be surprised if it got iOS 18 or even 19 if Apple really try’s
Rocking this phone for 4 years + already. This is why it's so difficult to make that decision to upgrade
This phones still a beast. I have an iPhone X and smaller 8. Just need an 8 Plus to complete my 2017 collection!
i used to have a 8 plus i recently upgraded to a 12 pro and in loving it
Thank you Brandon, I loved my 8Plus until upgrading to IPhone 11 ….
I have an 8 plus 256GB since the day it was released and I was willing to upgrade this year, buuuut had my doubts and after watching this video I won't do anything till 2021's iphone 13 or may be even the next year. Thanks for keeping my mind at peace :)
I have an iPhone 11 but still using my 8 plus. Great phone,no problems whatsoever. Lighter than the 11. I love it .
I upgraded to the 12 Pro Max from an 8 Plus. I would have kept it longer if it wasn't at 85% battery capacity with the battery draining faster.
I got a iPhone 8 Plus today and it’s really great
i bought iphone 8 plus about 3 years ago. it still works on today, no any repair, and no any faults. battery health has never been replaced, it is still 92% because i don't usually use my phone much (expect for some times). however i will upgrade to new iphone soon, as i don't think my iphone 8 plus will still be supported to future ios for longer 😕
It’s expected to be supported for at least 2 more years.
Why do you think that? I think you're mistaken, and the iPhone 8 will be supported for at least two more years, and maybe four or more.
Just upgraded from iPhone 11 to the 8 plus, face id can kick rocks
Still using mine! If it wasn’t for the face mask inconvenience , I would have switch to the 12 mini last year.
im on mini. got it for $400 with trade in... best deal imo.
I’ve been using my iPhone 8 Plus for 2 years now been in case since new looks like a new one wouldn’t have anything else great phone
Just recently bought the iPhone 8 for 190 such a great deal
My husband will NOT trade his 8 plus!! My 11 is no where as good as the 8 plus! My sound on 11 is terrible and as you said the pressure sensitivity is a joke for me.
I have the 8 plus and I love it!! I loved the 6 S plus the same. I do not like the buttonless. It just feels WRONG, ha!
I hate the home button that means less screen home button is trash
I am using the 12 now but going back to my 8 plus. This phone is good for 3 more years
Bruh I am still happy with my iPhone 7...and I have no near-future plans for upgrading!
6S plus and X user here!
