I had the iPhone 8 Plus before I moved up to the 12 Pro Max. My wife is still rocking the 8 Plus and every time I use her phone I get nostalgic. I still love the older design.

@@syphaxxxxx I’m on the latest version (14.4.2). I’d say I get like 5 hours screen on time? Similar to the 12 mini from what I’ve heard. I usually use between 100%-150% battery in a day (I usually charge twice in a 24 hour cycle). My battery is 89%, though I use techniques to keep my battery health higher, like trying to keep the charge between 40% and 80% and so far it’s worked. I’m a heavy user so an iphone 11 or 12 max battery life would be ideal but this is good enough atm. I can’t say I’ve seen a difference between iOS 13 and 14
If you will not update, then yeah sure, after installing like iOS 16 or something it may slow down significantly, keep that in mind because there is no downgrading in the apple world
Yeah I waited until 2018 before changing my last phone and got the iPhone 8 Plus product red version and considering how much use it’s had its holding up well.

@@gracacosta6893 oh that bothered me to, I made a workaround by creating a shortcut to turn off wifi and bluetooth and placed it as a widged on my homescreen, comes in handy, I use it all the time

I actually switched from an 8Plus to the 11 Pro Max when it came out. So happy I did it, although, my 8Plus never dissapointed me. I personally think it wouldn’t be a bad phone to get if you’re on a budget.

@@rexhepramadani3351 It’s definitely worth it. I actually switched from Android to iPhone, and I do not regret my decision. It’ll take a little while to adjust, but once you get used to it, you don’t want anything else.

Touch ID phones are still fine in my opinion. Compared to newer models, battery life/camera aren’t the best, but overall performance is still good. Used a 6 Plus and 7 Plus before upgrading and my 7 Plus still ran fine and pretty smooth all around. Touch ID is superior to Face ID, and that’s one of the reasons why I do kinda regret upgrading. There’s nothing wrong with Touch ID phones guys.
It’s not for some people . You have no idea how many times I’ve lost my patience with Touch ID because it’s not registering my finger . Never had that issue with Face ID .
I really recommend this phone, I bought it two months ago and I am having a great time with it. Very smoth, nice sound, good photos. Battery is at 81% and still doing good throught the day.
Still using 8, don't plan on switching out just yet unless i suddenly get a lot richer x) This is why i like Apple devices, they last a long time and is one of the main reasons i stick with them.

@@syphaxxxxx Always latest as of this comment though i sometimes wait a week or two between major releases, 86% Health, i never fast charge an only use the slow 5W charger or USB 2.0 pc/powerbank. Always try to keep it between 20% and 80% but sometimes it dips when i don't pay attention. Also I never charge overnight. Hope that helps
Still rocking my iPhone 8 Plus. I bought it in 2017 and it’s still kicking. I replaced the battery a few months ago. Battery life still isn’t great. I would upgrade to an SE Plus with Touch ID but I’ll keep rocking it as long as I can.
The thing I miss the most about 8 plus is the aspect ratio of the screen. Full screen videos genuinely filled the whole screen. Also, it's just gorgeous. My favourite phone I've ever had. If I could go back in time, I wouldn't have gotten rid of it :(

I’m using the iPhone 8 Plus. I’ve had it since launch and never used the lightning port, so just loose it Apple! I love the NOTCHLESS 16:9 screen with no PWM issues. I suffer from that. Still very happy with it with no plans to change it as it does everything I need it to 👍🏻
I had an iPhone 7 Plus for the better part of 5 years. Recently it broke. The motherboard cracked after a very hard drop on concrete at work. I took it in to be repaired and of course they couldn’t repair it because the logic board was cracked. I immediately ordered an iPhone 8 Plus because I love this style of phone, I love Touch ID and I absolutely refuse to pay more than $500 for a cell phone. So far it’s great. It’s just like having my old phone and I know this one will do well.
Watching this on my 8 plus it’s a great phone haven’t had any problems I bought it in December last year and it’s just what I need when I bought it the battery capacity was at 88 it is now gone down to 87 and I get a whole day of using it no problem at all I will be keeping it till it stops getting iOS updates great video Aaron
The 8 Plus is still a decent phone and can be picked up for a great value on the refurbished market. It would be an easy recommendation for anyone looking to enter the Apple ecosystem and not spend much.
With a certain world wide problem going on at the moment I’m glad I stuck with getting the last high end Touch ID Apple iPhone 8 Plus red addition back in 2018. The battery is holding up quite well at 87%.
I missed the 8 Plus feel in my hand and went back to it after using the newer phones. I forgot how much I truly loved using this phone and realized I was disliking the new design. I'm happy you brought up the eye strain because I learned I was struggling with my 12 Pro Max. I had no idea I was this sensitive to it.
Just got the 8+ as a quick backup since my 12 broke due to a big drop. It’s a great phone actually especially around this time I wear a mask it’s nice to have the home button there even when I use Apple Pay I don’t have to worry about Face ID. Just a comfortable phone overall & can get it for a good price online depending where.
I also upgraded from an 8 plus to an 11 pro and I'm seriously thinking about going back to an 8 plus lol. I miss it so much. Easily the best phone I've ever had.
Used to own an 8+ until November, then I upgraded to a blue 12. The phone itself still worked fine, but I couldn’t resist the upgrade offer my carrier offered me!
I got the 8 plus product red 256gb in 2018 , I brought the iPhone 12 blue 256gb last year love it but I will keep my 8 plus as a back up or travel phone

Still use it. Love touch ID. Face ID never appealed to me, especially with masks these days. I will upgrade only when a large format touch ID comes out. Replaced battery and the lighting port a month ago. Works better than new with ios 14.5 beta 7.
Had my 8 Plus for 3 years & had zero issues with it. One of the best iPhone’s Apple ever made, just wish they did a matte version like they did the 7 Plus.
I am still using my 8+ from 2017, partly due to the subsequent iPhones not being all that interesting, and the hefty price tag as well. I moved to a postpaid SIM last year after my contract expired, and am enjoying 40gb of data that I share between my iphone and ipad, for a relatively low price. It’s definitely slightly slower when launching apps, but nothing that I can’t live with. The only thing is the comparatively poorer battery life, even after a battery swap. Either way, I will probably be updating to the next iphone later this year. Even if it doesn’t come with Touch ID, the ability to unlock it with my Apple Watch should alleviate most of the hassles of Face ID assuming we continue wearing masks in the second half of the year.
Great Video Aron as always !!!! Greatings from Spain !!! I bought my iPhone 8 Plus back in december 2017 in space gray 64 GB. It works flawlessly still today, the OS is still fluent as it was back in 2017 when bought new. Battery percentage is down to 87 % after 3,5 years, the first two years the battery last me with my usage 1,5 day, now it makes 1 day with no effort, screen on time is about 4 hours. . I prefer the 5,5 inch & 16:9 screen ratio and touch ID over the new taller screen ratios of iPhone 12 & 12 pro MAX and their FACE ID. There is no current reason for me to upgrade so I will hold on it as long it is supported with OS updates, at least this year for sure. Great Phone without any doubt, I would recommend still to buy iy in 2021 if the person want a economic way to stay or go into the Apple ecosystem.
iphone SE 2 is the reason for upgrade. it has got a better processor and will last even longer than your 8+. it also has touch id and was launched in 2020 .

Hi Aaron, this is my first comment on your channel. I always enjoy your videos. You have an excellent speaking voice too. Currently, I am still using my iphone 7plus which is super close to the 8plus in specs. My 7 plus has a battery capacity of only 52% but otherwise it's in mint condition. Now, I DID purchase a new iphone12 pro max in late January, but I haven't even unboxed it yet...lol. The reason I wanted the 12 pro max is so I can have longer battery usage, a larger OLED display, louder speakers, better cameras, 5g, and the list goes on. I STILL LOVE my 7plus and will use it as a backup phone. Oh, and for those people who have no home button ,you CAN put a digital home button on your screen by enabling assistive touch. That's all for now. It's nice to know that older iphones are still useful.
I have the 8plus as a work phone, and I have a 13 pro as a daily. Honestly the 8 plus is still a relevant phone. Only differences are lack of computational processing for photos so photos aren’t as good as on 13 pro. I did replace battery so it’s 100%. Other differences are the Touch ID and the huge bezels. Otherwise it’s a great phone to use as a daily work horse IMO.
I have the 8 plus and the 12. Even though it has a bigger screen, my 12 feels too small. I’ve gone back to my 8 Plus for now. The width of the Plus is easier for texting.
i wouldn’t waste your money on a 11!! i got a 11 and it does the exact same thing there’s just a extra camera and no home button. it’s just a expensive update version of the 8+
I loved that iPhone 8 Plus. I upgraded a few months later because the X came out, but it was a great phone. I don’t know if it’s a good buy in 2021. There are many other newer iPhone models refurbished that you can buy. Great video as always.

There are a few used ones in great shape, refurbish or new in a fair price, and you can still find cases and other accessories directly from Apple, because they still sell it. It has a lot of features that the new ones have. I think it’s a good option still

@@hannahchaney3630 Update, I’m very happy with the decision I made, I just had to get used to it. The main difference I see are with the screen quality, the cameras and the battery life. The only thing I’m kinda missing from my 8 plus is the size or the phone, I feel like the 12 is kinda small (and the 12 pro max is a good size but a little too expensive for me).

This phone has been great for me and has never let me down. I also still use my phone for filming b-roll shots for my UA-cam videos. I am Looking to upgrade to the iPhone 12 pro max at the end of this year.

My 8 plus connectivity is good and the rear cameras are very good ...I use the Neuralcam app for night shots it is quite good....battery good not great....I have the 256 plenty of space for me...Thanks for the great review Aaron...
Good vid Aaron! I bought my iPhone 8 Plus 4 months ago for $350. The phone is fantastic!! It handles any task that I throw at it with ease. The feature that I enjoy most is Touch ID. It is lightning quick and a great solution to the face mask era. Face ID has been a great irritant to most iPhone users of the “X” model and later. I hope Apple implements a digitized touch ID option for subsequent iPhone models in the very near future!!
Had my iPhone 8 Plus for 2.5 years and had a 86% battery capacity. Just upgraded to the 11 so I could give my 8 Plus to my grandmother. One thing I miss about the 11 camera is not having that 2x zoom so readily available on the camera screen.

Most phones use the same Qualcomm chip for the 5g radio. Most phones these days are very close, but Samsung s21 and note 20 seem to be a little better as far as signal strength in my tests.
I bought this iphone 8 plus in 2018 and still use it till now. Still can keep up with my work flow, social media and gaming. I will upgrade my iphone when 5g connection alrd widespread enough in my country. Beside that, theres no reason for me to upgrade to new iphone. 🤷
The answer is yes. The iPhone 8 Plus is still a very powerful iPhone equipped with second gen Touch ID which is really fast. It has the A11 Bionic chip set which has stood the test of time, definitely worth buying 2021! The battery is great and still lasts at least a day. The speakers of this phone is great and better than the iPhone XR. This phone would be worth buying in 2021 and in 2022.
My iPhone 8 Plus is still going strong with the battery life at 83%. I use it as my house phone with my XS Max as my primary cell phone. I use a basic OtterBox Symmetry case with no screen protector.

Im still on an 8 plus and love it. I used to have every new iPhone when it came out. However, I worked for Apple an accessories company and they bought them for me. Now its my money. Im fine with having an "old" phone.
I've had an 8 Plus for 3 years and use it every day. I get 5 or a bit more hours from the battery and just looked: 84% battery life. I got a new X max from work two years ago to use but it sits in a drawer and I prefer the 8 plus. Never got used to face Id and swiping all over the place. I'll likely replace the battery and keep going for a couple more years. The phone has been in a decent case and always with screen protectors and not a scratch on it. I've dropped it multiple times from waist height, and it goes in my pocket with keys and change. I've replaced the screen protector 4 times but lucky so far.

The 8 Plus is still a decent phone and can be picked up for a great value on the refurbished market. It would be an easy recommendation for anyone looking to enter the Apple ecosystem and not spend much.

With a certain world wide problem going on at the moment I’m glad I stuck with getting the last high end Touch ID Apple iPhone 8 Plus red addition back in 2018. The battery is holding up quite well at 87%.

I missed the 8 Plus feel in my hand and went back to it after using the newer phones. I forgot how much I truly loved using this phone and realized I was disliking the new design. I'm happy you brought up the eye strain because I learned I was struggling with my 12 Pro Max. I had no idea I was this sensitive to it.
Just got the 8+ as a quick backup since my 12 broke due to a big drop. It’s a great phone actually especially around this time I wear a mask it’s nice to have the home button there even when I use Apple Pay I don’t have to worry about Face ID. Just a comfortable phone overall & can get it for a good price online depending where.

I switched from 11 pro Max to 8plus and i got the product red. So far so good. This is still a very capable phone for 2021!!!
I also upgraded from an 8 plus to an 11 pro and I'm seriously thinking about going back to an 8 plus lol. I miss it so much. Easily the best phone I've ever had.

Used to own an 8+ until November, then I upgraded to a blue 12. The phone itself still worked fine, but I couldn’t resist the upgrade offer my carrier offered me!

@@billct657 to be honest I never used it on my iPhone 8 plus so I can't really answer hence why I went for the 12 over the pro models but I can say the camera quality is a big upgrade , the 8 plus camera was always good but the 12 is on another level

Still use it. Love touch ID. Face ID never appealed to me, especially with masks these days. I will upgrade only when a large format touch ID comes out.
Replaced battery and the lighting port a month ago. Works better than new with ios 14.5 beta 7.

Been using my 8+ for over 2 years (purchased in mid Sep 2019). Still works great! I'll carry on using this phone for at least another year!
Had my 8 Plus for 3 years & had zero issues with it. One of the best iPhone’s Apple ever made, just wish they did a matte version like they did the 7 Plus.

I am still using my 8+ from 2017, partly due to the subsequent iPhones not being all that interesting, and the hefty price tag as well. I moved to a postpaid SIM last year after my contract expired, and am enjoying 40gb of data that I share between my iphone and ipad, for a relatively low price. It’s definitely slightly slower when launching apps, but nothing that I can’t live with. The only thing is the comparatively poorer battery life, even after a battery swap. Either way, I will probably be updating to the next iphone later this year. Even if it doesn’t come with Touch ID, the ability to unlock it with my Apple Watch should alleviate most of the hassles of Face ID assuming we continue wearing masks in the second half of the year.
Great Video Aron as always !!!! Greatings from Spain !!! I bought my iPhone 8 Plus back in december 2017 in space gray 64 GB. It works flawlessly still today, the OS is still fluent as it was back in 2017 when bought new. Battery percentage is down to 87 % after 3,5 years, the first two years the battery last me with my usage 1,5 day, now it makes 1 day with no effort, screen on time is about 4 hours. . I prefer the 5,5 inch & 16:9 screen ratio and touch ID over the new taller screen ratios of iPhone 12 & 12 pro MAX and their FACE ID. There is no current reason for me to upgrade so I will hold on it as long it is supported with OS updates, at least this year for sure. Great Phone without any doubt, I would recommend still to buy iy in 2021 if the person want a economic way to stay or go into the Apple ecosystem.
iphone SE 2 is the reason for upgrade. it has got a better processor and will last even longer than your 8+. it also has touch id and was launched in 2020 .

Hi Aaron, this is my first comment on your channel. I always enjoy your videos. You have an excellent speaking voice too. Currently, I am still using my iphone 7plus which is super close to the 8plus in specs. My 7 plus has a battery capacity of only 52% but otherwise it's in mint condition. Now, I DID purchase a new iphone12 pro max in late January, but I haven't even unboxed it yet...lol. The reason I wanted the 12 pro max is so I can have longer battery usage, a larger OLED display, louder speakers, better cameras, 5g, and the list goes on. I STILL LOVE my 7plus and will use it as a backup phone. Oh, and for those people who have no home button ,you CAN put a digital home button on your screen by enabling assistive touch.
That's all for now. It's nice to know that older iphones are still useful.
I have the 8plus as a work phone, and I have a 13 pro as a daily. Honestly the 8 plus is still a relevant phone. Only differences are lack of computational processing for photos so photos aren’t as good as on 13 pro. I did replace battery so it’s 100%. Other differences are the Touch ID and the huge bezels. Otherwise it’s a great phone to use as a daily work horse IMO.

I have the 8 plus and the 12. Even though it has a bigger screen, my 12 feels too small. I’ve gone back to my 8 Plus for now. The width of the Plus is easier for texting.

I loved that iPhone 8 Plus. I upgraded a few months later because the X came out, but it was a great phone. I don’t know if it’s a good buy in 2021. There are many other newer iPhone models refurbished that you can buy. Great video as always.

@@vegashainning8071 If you are in a budget, I think you may consider an iPhone 11. There are a few used ones in great shape, refurbish or new in a fair price, and you can still find cases and other accessories directly from Apple, because they still sell it. It has a lot of features that the new ones have. I think it’s a good option still

@@hannahchaney3630 Update, I’m very happy with the decision I made, I just had to get used to it. The main difference I see are with the screen quality, the cameras and the battery life. The only thing I’m kinda missing from my 8 plus is the size or the phone, I feel like the 12 is kinda small (and the 12 pro max is a good size but a little too expensive for me).

I still have an iPhone 8 Plus and have owned it for just over 2 years. My battery health is on 81% and I'm getting around 4 hrs 18 mins screen on time. This phone has been great for me and has never let me down. I also still use my phone for filming b-roll shots for my UA-cam videos. I am Looking to upgrade to the iPhone 12 pro max at the end of this year.

My 8 plus connectivity is good and the rear cameras are very good ...I use the Neuralcam app for night shots it is quite good....battery good not great....I have the 256 plenty of space for me...Thanks for the great review Aaron...

I bought my iPhone 8 Plus 4 months ago for $350. The phone is fantastic!! It handles any task that I throw at it with ease. The feature that I enjoy most is Touch ID. It is lightning quick and a great solution to the face mask era. Face ID has been a great irritant to most iPhone users of the “X” model and later. I hope Apple implements a digitized touch ID option for subsequent iPhone models in the very near future!!
Had my iPhone 8 Plus for 2.5 years and had a 86% battery capacity. Just upgraded to the 11 so I could give my 8 Plus to my grandmother. One thing I miss about the 11 camera is not having that 2x zoom so readily available on the camera screen.

Most phones use the same Qualcomm chip for the 5g radio. Most phones these days are very close, but Samsung s21 and note 20 seem to be a little better as far as signal strength in my tests.

Still can keep up with my work flow, social media and gaming. I will upgrade my iphone when 5g connection alrd widespread enough in my country.
Beside that, theres no reason for me to upgrade to new iphone. 🤷

The answer is yes. The iPhone 8 Plus is still a very powerful iPhone equipped with second gen Touch ID which is really fast. It has the A11 Bionic chip set which has stood the test of time, definitely worth buying 2021! The battery is great and still lasts at least a day. The speakers of this phone is great and better than the iPhone XR. This phone would be worth buying in 2021 and in 2022.

My iPhone 8 Plus is still going strong with the battery life at 83%. I use it as my house phone with my XS Max as my primary cell phone. I use a basic OtterBox Symmetry case with no screen protector.

I've had an 8 Plus for 3 years and use it every day. I get 5 or a bit more hours from the battery and just looked: 84% battery life. I got a new X max from work two years ago to use but it sits in a drawer and I prefer the 8 plus. Never got used to face Id and swiping all over the place. I'll likely replace the battery and keep going for a couple more years. The phone has been in a decent case and always with screen protectors and not a scratch on it. I've dropped it multiple times from waist height, and it goes in my pocket with keys and change. I've replaced the screen protector 4 times but lucky so far.
