I think having online discussions on psychology and mental health is really helpful. I think people have a personal responsibility to read and find out more in all areas! Since my studies in Psychology (which were only Bachelor level) I've realised that even some of the stuff I learnt 10 years ago is outdated in some ways. I believe that one minute videos can literally fill in gaps for people who already have a deeper understanding.
I think it would literally be different for every person, depending on their prior knowledge. I have learnt about somatics, intuitive therapies, coaching strategies, psychological concepts etc from the internet and it's filled in gaps during my own lifelong journey of discovery. I have also been for weeks of therapy to a trained therapist and had damaging experiences... whereas your youtube videos have literally changed my life in a positive way! My limerence is better than it's ever been because your videos filled in the gaps of knowledge I didn't have. I had years of work and therapy and coaching, and a lot of deep inner work and nothing ever 'hit the nail on the head' until I watched your videos.
The internet is a beautiful tool for those who use it responsibly. I would say that people who think a one minute video is not helpful, have forgotten that a lot of people who watch these videos do so with a lot of prior knowledge and experience. Those who don't have the deeper understanding, may have a small seed planted that will eventually grow. That's my 10 cents anyway :)

There are very very many people who simply cannot afford therapy, it is just not a feasible option. We then HAVE to turn to UA-cam and the like for information, understanding, ways to cope, heal etc.
But even among the growing number of channels that speak on a particular psychological topic - the flashy, click-baity, over-generalized, reading-off-an-AI-generated-script types can often be identified as such instinctively by those who are truly seeking help for themselves.
And by my observation, the more sincere and knowledgeable voices - like yours - generally do have a smaller following on social media.
    Thank you for your videos.

Thank you for saying that, I appreciate it, it’s a shame it’s harder to get a bigger audience when you’re nuanced but I’d rather that than succumb to the numbers.

This debate made me think of Niles Crane insulting his brother Frasier for being a psychiatrist on the radio rather than a proper one like him. 😂
UA-cam videos do run the risk of looking like self-promotion over professionalism. My thoughts on how anyone would avoid that is in the quality of the content and the creator's credentials. UA-cam lends itself better to quality than TikTok tiny videos all round though and it doesn't have a good reputation for being a serious platform. I can see why it could be looked down on professionally.
I don't think putting out high quality videos with useful information to people is something to be avoided altogether just because they are about mental health.

Haha love the Frasier reference! Great points, I agree.
