*They pretty much all sound the same*
Born of Osiris is always on these lists, they are fucking insane for almost using every tuning in the book
i liked the video solely for this moment of self-awareness
Yeah that was awesome. That one line set the tone for the video. 😁 👍
I noticed that in the six string videos for drop tunings you use .012 to .056 strings. For drop C, Drop B, Drop A# etc. I also notice that in this video your thickest string on the seven string is a .064 which seems like a light gauge for a tuning like drop G. I'm wanting to get my six string set up primarily for Drop B and drop A#. I'm thinking the gauge strings I'm going to use are extra heavy gauge strings (.013 to .060) because I feel like that range of strings would still give me plenty of tension and plenty of tone in those low tunings. Do you have any advice?

was NOT expecting Pantera. No idea they played that low
Only noticed after seeing this comment. Me neither dude
They tuned it on 6 strings with the bottom two strings as octaves. So they'd leave the top 5 in D standard and drop the low D down to G. So it'd be GGCFAD
Me neither. But this riff was very cool!
ayyy what's up Brett lol
@@nkjagshenry ayyyyy
You need to do a guitar dual video of you vs. Your Russian alter ego.
Omg yes.
Dude puleeez?
@niknocturnal please make this happen!
Plez, da?
Yes
*G* I can't tell which one I like
Was hoping to hear Pantera, was not disappointed. Great as always!
Thank you!
Fordetoss pantera in drop g?
@@NirVeInbarINVI underground in america was played in drop g (original tuning is GGCFAD)
Ace of Phrase kinda missed the timing with that answer don’t you think?
@@NirVeInbarINVI no)
I love how you matched the energy physically of every band! Especially the Omega Riff 😃
Thank you! :)
You could've made this video with nothing but Wage War riffs.
Although they dont use drop g, they use drop Bb with a low G. From low to high G, F, Bb, Eb, G, C
True
Wage war is fucking nuts, I love those guys
@@jewishwindmill8565 I mean it's still an alt drop G tuning either way because it's defined by the dropped string
WW slays
I just want a supercut of all of the meme intros
This would make my life much more bearable
;)
The intros have just turned into you with a Russian accent
not complaining
Synth Chris not russian, slavic. He’s serbian :D
Dahh
Like the intro said: "they pretty much all sound the same"
I love how you play bro. You play so clear and that tone is amazing!
I play a 7 string in Drop G myself, it certainly works
Bro your tone sounds really good in this video! I love the content
Thanks Brent!
Happy to see Jason Richardson and Luke Holland here ;)
JR is a king of Drop G
@@NikNocturnal he sure is!! But if that's the case, you're the heir to the throne. ;)
Sanguisugabogg dominates this tuning now 😈
Crystal Lake's "Drop G" tuning is actually different and a bit weird. The highest six strings on their 7-strings are tuned to A# standard with the lowest string tuned to G, with some songs having the low string tuned to F, which makes it F standard. Their main tuning is pretty much the equivalent of tuning the low string up a whole step in standard tuning.
They also go even lower but they're mostly pitch-shifted effects.
Alpha Wolf's alternate (F)-D-G-C-F-A-D used for the song "Bleed 4 You" hits the Heart-Core. Playing the song is a lot of fun but experimenting with the low F is even more fun :D
can I get some love for Alpha Wolf? underground Aussie bands represent
Yessss
REPLACE MY MEMORIES WITH LEAD
Nu metalcore on the rise ✊
I mean I wouldn't call them underground, but yes Alpha Wolf very nice
Yes
woah there, bucko ol pal chum partner friend neighberino, you say drop g riffs all sound the same again and i'll have to djent you into the 47th dimension
@Brooke Taylor good to know other people like my garbage sense of humor

Oh cool knocked loose.
I'm gonna die when I see them live
At a bar
With 200 capacity
With acacia strain
On a wednesday
Broooo you are in for a treat, acacia strain live is the most ruthless shit!
Don't forget Harms Way
There was a girl that was knocked unconscious by a drunk asshole well outside the pit during an erra acacia strain and after the burial show. It happened while TAS was on and the show didn't even pause for a moment. Keep your wits about you, and don't get in the pit if you're not at least an average sized person.
I'm seeing them on a Wednesday too, I think Fubar holds like 400 people. Gonna be fucking brutal.

I like to think that the Nick's real voice is the one he uses in the intro and the one at the end is fake
;)
(WINK)
Happy to see Pantera in this video, did not expect that. Crazy ass song, pure groove.
Heaviest Nicks: drop N hehe
Drop Ni, bring me the shrubbery
Drop Nigguh
Until you played them all back to back I actually never realized how similar a lot of those riffs are lol.
Why is drop G such a beautiful sound though? It just is. BTW, holy shit did Pantera sound badass with that tuning!
The Underground in America was actually played in octave G but basically the same
I’ve been commenting about Alpha Wolf for the last 20 videos, you don’t know how happy I am to see you throw me a bone 😂😂😂😂
I gotchu fam dw
Fit for an autopsy really is the most underrated deathcore band
They're amazing!
Instantly thought of Whitechapel and Drown in Sulphur, pretty epic señor
Thank you!
@@NikNocturnal No problem G just keep being dank brother 👌👌👌
Abandoned By Bears are an amazing Swedish Easycore/Post-Hardcore band and some of my favorite songs of theirs are in drop G on a 7 string. You should cover something off their new album Headstorm. My favorite riff of theirs is the intro riff to "Compromise"
First time seeing this video, and OML I just fell in love with you for including those guys: 1:37
My favs:
Drown In Sulphur
Wage War
Any Given Day
Pantera
I really want to see you the play through of Drown In Sulphurs Epilogue To the Arrogant. That last bit of the sound is fucking groovy as hell. Keep rocking my dude! You've got some incredible talent.
I love playing with GCGCFAD a lot
Sandblasted Skin is significantly heavier than Underground in America, but I'm still super hyped to see that they made the list
Haha the self awareness at the start :P
;)
I was ready for the breakdown during the all my heroes riff... my body was prepared then let down 😂
;)
Follow the SIGNNNNS!! Great job! Heaviest in drop D or standard lol
Both on the list ;)
Crystal lake ❤
^^^^
Awesome stuff man! I learn so much from watching you play.
Thank you! :)
@@NikNocturnal No sir. Thank you. ❤
If no knocked loose I'll be sad
Right when I post it knocked loose lol
There's a band called Wait for the Day that just released their album called The Sun Will Drown. I don't know if you've heard of them, but their song "Erase My Mind" would be an amazing track to cover maybe! I'm not affiliated with the band or anything, but if you see this comment, I hope check them out because I can't stop playing them!
It's hard to place them, but I'd say FFO (for fans of): Bury The Evidence, A Scent Like Wolves, If I Were You, and The Parallel. Hope that helps anyone! Keep up the great work Nick, always loving the videos!
YES! Finally some love for Any Given Day! Such an underrated band.
got me couch moshing
Perfect
Work sucked today, but at least Nik uploaded another entertaining video. 👍
:)
Ayy Any Given Day getting some love
Need full version of Tendinitis
I'd die
Nik Nocturnal haha man the cover would be sick though. Maybe just the chorus??? Plz!!!!
Favorite Drop G riff= Anything Chelsea Grin, Ashes to Ashes album
So glad you put Luke Holland in there. He's a BEAST
Drop Jiiiiiizzz
Keep up the amazing work. Lovin all the vids!
Thank you!
Only just realised how much Drown in Sulphur's "An Epilogue To The Arrogant" sounds like Slipknot's "Wherein Lies Continue".
Also, Nik, do we get a cover of Crystal Lake's Aeon? Itishevy,no?
Something about ernie ball strings that’s so beautiful
Nice vocals
Thanks!
No Sandblasted Skin but Underground in America?
What a tease.
"they pretty much sound the same"
That caught me off guard
Black Mammoth's got the sickest fucking riff I've heard for a long while.
very glad to see dem bois Crystal Lake and Drown In Sulphur here..
^^
I searched up this tuning thinking how funny it would be if it existed and here I am
wait till you see his double drop d video
Great inclusion of The Saw is The Law by Whitechapel c:
This is fracking awesomeness!
Drop g might be my favorite 7 string tuning. Just low enough to not be mush and very overlooked.
I put baritones on my 6 string and it goes all the way down to Drop G now lol. I think I'm breaking my LP
Omega! Good shit 🤘
I was waiting for Pantera, wasn’t disappointed
;)
Oooo that Jason Richardson lick tho
Saucy
^^
Stoked when you played The River. I just discovered Wage War and I'm in love
WW
Nik's hair is more heavier than riffs 🤘🧐
Thanks for the whiplash papa Nik
Idk if that tendinitis riff playthrough was a flex but if so, well flexed.
could you tune it in DABDAB?
GABBAGABBA
the tapping section in black mammoth will always be tasty
So I just got my first Baritone 27.5 scale lenght. Its in standard B to B tuning but I want to play it in Drop B, Drop A#. When I tried tuning the 4th string down, the tension almost gave like the string was going to pop off so I quickly retuned to standard. Basically is their a whole list of alternative tunings for Baritone guitars that are the equaivalent to drop tunings with 6 string guitars?
i believe and don’t quote me but i’ve been reading into it and i do believe when stringing your guitar and stretching it you have to tune into the tuning you want
DOUBLE DROP G
Crystal Lake - Omega
H E L L Y E A H
Hahahaha, lost it at the opening remark.
:D
I love that u included Drown in Sulphur
G string sounds real good ! how floppy was it ?
So happy to see some Any Given Day love here! Great list 🤘
They're an awesome band!
KNOCKED LOOSE
Yeee!
I expected to see Nocturnal Bloodlust, but I saw Crystal Lake. Well, this is also a very cool riff.
Black list and death breath by bring me the horizon are drop G bangers
Mate you should have put These Colours Don’t Run on this video! 😫😫
Cool bro what's the tuning?
Hmmmmmm
HMMMMMMM
I believe it is drop F. Like your grades
A# is the limit for me. Anything lower than that actually sounds less and less heavy. It's weird. There's like a sweet spot for heaviness in my ear.
Same
Man I must be old. I've only heard of two bands in that entire roster of riffs.
This video could have easily just been Knocked Loose’s entire discography
I was waiting for Tendinitis and I got it LOL. Let’s fucking gooo
Hey Nick... Love your videos :)
Thank you!
The Attack Attack album "this means war" had some bad ass riffs (tuning F i guess), what do u think about that album?
Fabrizio Raimondo I think I was all drop g with exception of the wretched which was drop F
Hahaha that intro 😂 I fucking love your videos
Thank you! :D
He makes everything sound heavier
You some how always get the songs I love but think people don't know lol
oh yeahh! soo heavy!
Every Knocked Loose song is the heaviest drop G song
You killed it man!! Can anyone ad use which Schecter that is?!? I’m starting to look for my first 7 string. 🤜🤛
Can't wait for you to hit 100k.
Hopefully one day my friend :)
I like the Fit for the Autopsy the most.
Aaand 2 years later that drown in sulfer smacks just right ✅ 👌 😉
Thanks a lot for inspiration 💚🎸👻
Alpha wolf Black mamba full song please
Top g tunning 😎🏎
I’m watching this video wearing a drown in sulphur t shirt. You surprised me nick
