About Crystal Lake's tuning: their Drop G songs are actually tuned to GA#D#G#C#FA#. It's pretty weird tuning since the top six strings are tuned to A# standard instead of D standard. Their later songs have the lowest string tuned to F instead with the high six still tuned to A#, which makes it F standard like Meshuggah's tuning but on a 7.
Awesome video dude! I saw Signs of the Swarm a few months before I saw you guys at the same place in Toronto earlier this year, and that riff was literally in my head the whole night even while the other bands were playing lol
"Saw Is the Law" was the best by far. Most of the other riffs felt lacking without screams. Very happy to see Omega, though. That was my intro to Drop G.
Whitechapel the saw is the law is one of my favourite songs in drop G tuning. But the other riffs you covered here was cool too! i liked it! Keep doing this!
Sick, some of thease I never heard of. I'm a bit surprised Sim didn't make the cut with The Rumbling, but oh well. Bloodywood also has some kick ass drop G riffs, y'all should check them out if you're not familiar.
Nice compilation man, I was wondering if you used some kind of pitch shifter since the strings dont look like they are too thick, and if Im not wrong that guitar has a 25'5 inch scale length. If so which one are you using?
I have a question, I want to buy a 27 baritone guitar for these low drop tunings. So my question is, which string set should I buy to play drop g on a 27 baritone (without having floppy strings)?
0:04 Drop G : Drop C of seven strings guitar Drop D1 : Drop C of eight strings guitar Drop A0 : Drop C of nine strings guitar Amazing video 👍🤘 and love the guitar 🎸you use to play those riffs 🙂 Edit : A0, not A1
@@aegistechreviews7410 If it is about the popularity of this tuning, I can agree 👍 with you. But for me, Drop E is more the Drop D of eight strings because you only change the tuning of the eight string (F# - B - E - A - D - G - B - E) -> (E - B - E - A - D - G - B - E)
@@aegistechreviews7410 standard 8 string tuning = F# Standard ... so Drop E is the Drop D of 8 string, which means Drop D1 is indeed the Drop C of 8 string.
I rewatched a few of these clips, but I do have a question. I play in Drop G on a baritone….would that still be considered Drop C, but baritone? Just sounds weird saying it, make it cool.
Why are there not more 7 string strats? I have an old squier strat VII and it’s cool and all…but I want a fender. Chris Garza has one but it’s custom shop…I wish fender would make something similar…22 frets tho, not 24 like his.
It’s always the super heavy metal bands that get noticed for their low tunings. What about low tuned rock bands. Issues was killing it with their riffs
Check out Mixwave: Austin Archey for SICK drum tones here: www.mixwave.com/austinarchey
Sick mix man well done

@@weemankylenah, drop a is the drop c of 7 strings because of the respective popularity of each tuning.
The Black Mammoth intro is under appreciated. Mind-blowing stuff. The In Shadows verse riff as well.
Black Mammoth goes hard as fuck, great choice.
Baena getting down with the Bogg!? Awesome

just got my first long scale 5 string bass and until my new HEAVY strings come in, the lowest I can get is drop G. This is perfect!!
Oblivion peaks straight to nights almost sent me to the ER. Love these Andrew, please keep making them.
Awesome video dude!
I saw Signs of the Swarm a few months before I saw you guys at the same place in Toronto earlier this year, and that riff was literally in my head the whole night even while the other bands were playing lol
These vids are so good to find new things to play, cheers! Always loved Dead Rose 💪
Love to hear people find new music cuz of these!
Tuned my 6 string from Drop C to GGCFAD
that is drop C though, is it not?
thats the tuning for periphery reptile. not something i would use but they make it sound sweet in that song
Its basically drop G without the low D @aegistechreviews7410
@@aegistechreviews7410Drop C is CGCFAD. He tuned his guitar one step down from standard then made the low string an octave below the 5th string
Pantera sandblasted skin 🔥
Idk if its from being a piano player but there's something about G and C that are just very pleasant to the ear.
Yesss!!! You did my suggestion of Sun eater. Great vid as always andrew🤟
Excellent choices to start the video with btw
thrown - "nights" breakdown had me drooollinggggggg I had to replay that part 😂🎉🎉

that recreate riff is probably one of my favorites for sure
God that Ohmura Snapper is gorgeous.

Goddamn best mix ive ever heard from this channel 😮💨😍
I always loved that chug riff in Dead Rose, so dam chunky.
No Alpha Wolf mentioned ;-; I play in Drop G, good to see love for this tuninG!
You could fill a whole list with alpha wolf stuff. I wouldn’t even know where to start tbh…I guess sub zero is pretty much a classic at this point
Intro of, oblivion’s peak by Knocked loose, sounds like slayer’s “Mandatory suicide’s” intro but just little bit.
Zetsubou P - Black heart is my favorite drop g song
Usually not an EMG guy, but the Mixwave Stringer sounds epic with them!
The sandwich bog riff was unexpected but welcomed. Good riff choices
Love drop g, it always sounds sick
Yo dude side note- the scene change looks good!
What gauge bridge cables are you using?
IR que esta usando soa como jinjer, muito bom o seu timbre de guitarra, saudações desde Brasil 🇧🇷
Thank god it’s Friday by ice nine kills had one of my favorite verse riffs. I wish it was included here.
My fav drop G to play is the main riff from Blacklist by BMTH
This guitar was made for these riffs 🩷✨✨
Was just listening to that Thrown song at the gym earlier, such a hard-hitter
Dude, u should totally do more Sanguisugabogg! Great death metal band with a ton of neck snapping riffa
gonna need a drop f heaviest guitar riffs 🙌🏼
Nice Ohmura snapper!
I like that your new logo looks like A flat which is of course, HEAVY AF
Not into metal but man this guy can play! Love it!
If you ever do a Drop F one, I’d suggest the first breakdown of the song Doves by Defamed (ex drown in sulfur)
Sweet riffs
seen you play in Edmonton Was hella sickkkkk
Best rifts, Thrown is like : 1-1 1-1-1-1 1 1-1 ❤ love these guys
Pretty simple yet brutally effective
That looks like the guitar from your Japan vlog. So fucking cool!! I'm jealous. 😅
