I have a feeling the power in this album came from their newfound freedom from Sony. Six albums, 17 years, and now they are free. Expect them to release something even more amazing in the next few years.
Omg!!!!!! This album of theirs absolutely blew me away. I wasn't expecting something like this. The have absolutely perfected their craft and they've come such a long away.

Seeing a ton of good Chevelle recs in the comments. All are good - Chevelle is always quality 👌. Gonna put a req for my favorite Chevelle deep cut while I'm here: "Sleep Walking Elite"!
I heard Chevelle for the first time when I was maybe 7 years old... I came across them again at 17 and I like to think it was hearing them at the age I did was what got me into the music I listen to now. It was like a huge sigh of relief when I found them again, even though I was never really looking for them. As for some song suggestions... in no particular order. Leprous: The Valley Artificial Language: Turn Off The Pictures Caligula's Horse: Graves Haken: Carousel Periphery: Omega The Omnific: Khimaira Maraton: Spectral Friends VOLA: Applause of a Distant Crowd Soen: Lunacy Sorry for the long list but I won't do this too often. thanks for being a part of my music journey!
One other thought: On the topic of 4/4 time. As much as it may be plain jane it can definitely drive a song. There's a reason why it's attractive to the listener, sometimes the ear just wants something that isn't hard to comprehend.
This was my first time hearing Chevelle along with you Geebz! I've already downloaded the album for a front-to-back, sounds like a winner. Looking forward to the revisiting of Between the Buried and Me! I'll post on your Facebook about them at some point, and send an invite to the fan community 👌🏻 awwwright
When Chevelle's first album came out, there was a rumor that Maynard had a side project that was going to be smaller and less cerebral. Because of the singer's tones and qualities, my friends and I all questioned whether Chevelle was that project (turned out to be A Perfect Circle which would come out a bit later). But I like that you caught that similarity.
One of my favourite bands over the last 15 years, and so few know about them in my circles. Vitamin R was my first song I heard from them and still one of my favourites!

Long time Chevelle fan. I've seen them a handful of times and imo, they are one of the most consistent bands, of this century. They bring it, every night!
Some suggestions: Forfeit, Face to the Floor, The Red, Send The Pain Below, Vitamin R (Leading Us Along), Jars, Fizzgig...
Still here. Awwright! 🤙
Yes, do more CheVelle, my favorite band and I think have some of the most amazing music sounds, and Pete's vocals are epic to me, his scream is like no other as well to me. CheVelle - hunter eats hunter
I’m loving the mustache twirling to the beat!! I recognize all those intense facial expressions.. love your exceptional ability to explain this so all can really hear things we wouldn’t without you!! Aloha!! Many mahalos for being so RAD!
Chevelle tracks:
“Mars Simula”
“Ghost and Razor”
“Door to Door Cannibals”
“Take Out the Gunman”
“Under the Knife”
“Still Running”
“The Red”
don't forget "I get it" and "well enough alone"
I would also recommend "Ouija Board", "Shameful Metaphors", and "Choking Game".
I personally think Saferwaters would also be a good pick.
ghost and razor is amazing
There's a "greatest hits" album on UA-cam somewhere and someone was complaining about how songs were missing
There's just so many of them....it always feels like you're forgetting some. Definitely agree on Take out the Gunman, The Red, and I Get It, though.
Leprous: The Valley
Artificial Language: Turn Off The Pictures
Caligula's Horse: Graves
Haken: Carousel
Periphery: Omega
The Omnific: Khimaira
Maraton: Spectral Friends
VOLA: Applause of a Distant Crowd
Soen: Lunacy
Sorry for the long list but I won't do this too often. thanks for being a part of my music journey!
Been watching for a while now, I can't believe you're reacting to my favorite band!!!
Loved the analysis - more Chevelle please!
Wooo! Chevelle! I’ve been waiting for you to do one of their songs. There are so many awesome ones. Keep them in mind to do more!
The song “ Piistol star” on this album is the best hands down. It definitely has a Toolish vibe.
Chevelle has been my favorite band since I was a teenager. Got me through some rough times. Fantastic band!
One other thought:
On the topic of 4/4 time. As much as it may be plain jane it can definitely drive a song. There's a reason why it's attractive to the listener, sometimes the ear just wants something that isn't hard to comprehend.
"The Red" is one of my favorites of their older tunes.
Please do more Chevelle videos. I don't even care what songs you pick, it's just awesome to see them getting the appreciation they deserve!
Tool and Chevelle....my two all time favorite bands!!! I love this damn journey with you! Cheers! 🍻
Amazing album. Should do a deep dive, start to finish is why we love chevelle. It has it all
This was my first time hearing Chevelle along with you Geebz!
Great sounding tune. I found chevelle when I was a kid through their song “the red”
Yes!! Love Chevelle, new album Niratias is awesome.
Awesome song....Awesome band..
Recommended: "Comfortable Liar" (Chevelle)
CheVelle is my favorite band. Pete and Sam slay on this album! As always, CheVelle serves us another masterpiece. I can't wait to see what's next!
This was absolutely incredible. They are a duo!
The Clincher and Closure is really good too, The Red is a classic by Chevelle
You should listen to another great chevelle song called "still running". It's absolutely killer!
Waiting in heavy anticipation for the reaction to the guitar bit (yall know the one)
It's GeebZ Time lol 😆. Happy St. Patrick's Day
Haha - same to you Adam!!
Man, whoever gave you this suggestion props. Awesome song, been awhile since I've loved a Chevelle song so much.
This song is classic Chevelle but at the same time gives APC and TOOL vibes. Fantastic band.
Such a great album from a great band.
One of my favourite bands over the last 15 years, and so few know about them in my circles. Vitamin R was my first song I heard from them and still one of my favourites!
One of the coolest modern three piece bands…so much sound for only three dudes. I loved when it was all the family but everything they make is 🔥
Chevelle have always been monster riff craftsmen. Pete's voice is always sick too. Songs to check out include:
Closure
Family System
Vitamin R
Still Running
Brainiac
Straight Jacket Fashion
Sleep Apnea
Jars
One of the best from the album, great place to start with them.
My favorite modern band. I've seen them twice. Could see them everyday. I own all their albums. 3 on top vinyl signed. Just got two in today and two shirts. Can't believe only 4 million of their albums have sold. Vena Sera is my favorite album of theirs. They have been wanting to put this album out for atleast a year but have hunkering down since March.
Yes, Chevelle! I love this album, is so good. I'd recommend 'Piistol Star (Gravity Heals)' or 'Ghost and Razor' from the same album for another review.
Pistol Star is my favorite song in the album. The whole thing is great though. As a Chevelle fan since "point #1" I highly anticipated this album, and it did not disappoint
@@jacobchase8051 The whole album blew me away. Masterpiece.
Piistol Star, Mars Simula and Peach are my top 3 from the album👍
Ghost and Razor is my favorite track for sure.
It’s funny to me how that band as been on the back burner all my life. It always comes back into my sound track when all else fail to raise my spirit back up. 👾
Every day I'm more obsessed with listening to this album.
Check out “Get Some” and “Grab Thy Hand”
Love Chevelle
Great choice, Geebz! Chevelle have been a consistently solid band for 20 years now. Check out "The Red" for an old school banger or "Face to the Floor" or "Take out the Gunman" for a newer rager. Love yer channel, bro! Aloha!! 🤙🌞🤙
Stunning breakdown! It's one of my all time favorites of Chevelle and its cool to see a breakdown on why it is so stunning!
Keep 'em coming Geebz! Have learned so much from you. Would still love to see you get to a Cog song soon though ("The Doors", "The Spine", "Problem Reaction Solution" are all amazing prog songs).
